EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

From your first point of contact with Festa, we provide a

seamless customer journey, guiding you through the complex

decision-making process of selecting the optimum glazing

solution for your project.

With a proven track record on some of the UK’s most

demanding projects, including remote locations, large-format

leader.

Despite technical challenges, our commitment to efficiency

and delivery remain paramount.

Our success is driven by a refined design and contracts

management process, the following stages offer a clear

overview of what to expect when partnering with Festa.

PROJECT LOOK BOOK

13

ABOUT US

OUR PROCESS

Step 01

DESIGN CONSULTATION - 0%

Every project begins with a conversation. As a

specialist glazing consultancy, we take the time

to listen and understand your unique vision.

With our depth of knowledge and technical

expertise, we’ll provide you with tailored advice

to refine your ideas and guide you towards

a glazing solution that meets your aesthetic

and performance needs. From bespoke

glass specifications to complex structural

considerations, our boutique consultancy

service adds value from the outset.

Step 02

ORDER PLACEMENT - 15%

Once you’re happy to proceed with our

proposal and the initial deposit has been

processed, we move swiftly to ensure a

seamless transition. You’ll be introduced to

your dedicated Contracts Manager, who will

oversee every detail of your project from this

point forward. This single point of contact is

there to keep communication clear and ensure

every decision made is aligned with your

expectations.

Step 03

PROJECT DESIGN - 30%

Upon receipt of the architect’s dwg files, our

design team gets to work integrating our

glazing systems into your project. This stage

is all about precision and foresight—every

interface, junction and support detail are

meticulously co-ordinated to avoid clashes and

ensure compatibility with adjacent structures. By

understanding the finer points of construction

build-ups, structural tolerances and thermal

performance, we set the groundwork for a

smooth installation, minimising disruptions later

in the process with technical accuracy.

Step 04

STEP 04 SITE SURVEY - 45%

Once the structural openings are formed and a

datum is established on-site, our team conducts

a thorough site survey. This visit is essential

for capturing accurate measurements and

understanding on-site tolerances, which form

the basis for our detailed fabrication drawings.

By getting this step right, we mitigate the risk

of costly adjustments and ensure that every

glazing element will be produced to the

exact specifications required for a perfect

installation.

PROJECT LOOK BOOK

Step 05

FABRICATION APPROVAL - 60%

Following the site survey, we update and

reissue our design drawings to reflect the

true site conditions. Once these drawings

are approved and the second stage payment

is received, we proceed to manufacturing.

Our meticulous approach means that each

component is produced with absolute

precision, ensuring a flawless fit and finish.

Step 07

INSTALLATION - 90%

Step 06

PRODUCTION - 80%

The lead time commences once all details are

signed off. Our production team coordinates

the procurement and fabrication of materials in

line with the approved drawings. Throughout

this stage, every profile, frame, and piece

of glass is handled with the utmost care and

crafted to exacting standards. Comprehensive

quality checks are carried out at every stage,

ensuring that the finished products are not just

beautiful, but built to last.

In the weeks leading up to installation we

conduct a thorough pre-start check on-site

to ensure everything is set for a seamless

installation. Your Contracts Manager will

confirm access routes and verify that all

preparatory work is complete. We will also

collect the third stage payment, securing your

upcoming installation date. This meticulous

preparation allows our experienced installers to

work with maximum efficiency and precision,

fitting each component with care and attention.

Step 08

COMPLETION - 100%

With the installation now complete, we’ll

request the final balance and hand over your

aftercare and warranty documentation. We’re

proud to stand by our work, offering continued

support and peace of mind long after your

project is finished. From post-installation

advice to ongoing maintenance support, we

remain at your service.

PIVOT DOORS

Pivot doors offer monumental scale with elegant movement

with large-format openings, glazed pivot doors offer

striking entrances with architectural impact. Capable of

reaching dimensions up to 3.5m wide and 6m high, they

allow oversized glazing to become a sculptural element

within the façade—delivering bold scale without visual bulk.

Utilising ultra-slim framing systems and concealed pivot

mechanisms, these doors create near-frameless transitions

with sightlines as narrow as 20–30mm. The result is a door

that dissolves boundaries between interior and exterior,

echoing the purity and refinement of sliding systems.

Pivot doors offer 360° design freedom—operating inward,

outward, or dual-swing with soft-close options. Ideal for

main entrances, internal partitions, or as a striking feature

within curtain walls, they integrate flush thresholds and

floor-to-ceiling glazing with bespoke finishes including

anodised aluminium, timber cladding, or mirrored glass.

Despite their dramatic scale, high-spec pivot systems deliver

excellent thermal performance (U-values <1.0 W/m²K),

airtightness, and resistance to wind and water. Double or

triple glazing, laminated safety glass, and thermally broken

frames ensure they meet the same standards as premium

sliding systems.

Pivot doors offer a unique kinetic experience—opening on

an offset axis to create a sense of theatre and presence,

especially when automated. This architectural movement

not only enhances spatial interaction but signals luxury and

innovation at the entrance threshold.

LOCATED IN PICTURESQUE NORTH YORKSHIRE,

CRAVEN BARN PAYS HOMAGE TO THE ORIGINAL

AGRICULTURAL STRUCTURE VISUALLY CONNECTING

THE MAIN HOUSE TO ITS NATURAL SURROUNDINGS.

The design honours the building's agricultural character,

utilising materials such as timber, natural stone and glass. A

stand out feature is the extensive use of glazing, flooding the

interior spaces with natural light creating a seamless connection

to the idyllic countryside. Notably, the east elevation showcases

automated sliding doors, measuring over 4 meters in height

and 12 meters in width, elegantly integrated into the existing

steel frame structure.

SELECTED WORK

This glazing not only introduces a modern aesthetic but also

preserves the barn’s traditional charm. On the north elevation,

large windows invite light into the space without overwhelming

the structure, harmoniously sitting alongside the natural stone

and timber cladding. These glass elements are integral to the

design, offering unobstructed views and creating bright, open

interior spaces.

Cottage Farm

COTTAGE FARM

Reimagining the farmers

shed as a family home,

connecting with nature.

SET IN THE TREE LINED AREA OF KEYWORTH,

THIS FAMILY HOME AIMS TO RECONNECT

THE INHABITANTS WITH THEIR NATURAL

SURROUNDINGS.

Cottage Farm is an architectural project that reimagines the

traditional agricultural structure through a refined material

palette, enhanced by expansive glazed openings that flood

the interiors with natural light. The main entrance features a

prominent structural glass skylight, forming a light well that casts

ever-changing shadows throughout the day. The dark tones

of shou sugi ban timber, paired with copper and corten steel

accents, offer a modern reinterpretation of a monolithic form,

paying homage to the architectural interplay of solids and voids.

SELECTED WORK

Festa was commissioned by the client to design, supply,

and install the architectural glazing elements, including

slim interlock sliders, structural glass skylights, large-format

fixed windows, and corten steel-clad entrance doors. Festa’s

involvement began during RIBA Work Stage 4, collaborating

with Trevor Muir Architects to detail the glazing and façade

elements and coordinating with the structural engineers. The

glazing serves as a central design triumph in this project,

transforming the otherwise box-like form into a dynamic

structure, seamlessly connecting the family with their natural

surroundings.
