HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HIGH PERFORMANCE
CENTRE FOR OUR FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON.
I would like to welcome Jay Sadler and his staff who have
done a fantastic job over a number of years at Portsmouth -
especially last season. We know we are in for a tough game
against them today but it’s one we’re really looking forward
to.
It has been a whirlwind few months since I arrived at Bristol
City and a very busy summer! It was fantastic to meet so
many of you at Ashton Gate against Newcastle and I hope
I get to meet more of you today and at our home games at
Ashton Gate.
Sunday’s match at Birmingham was disappointing - both
the result and parts of the performance. We weren’t where
we needed to be which we were all really frustrated with,
given the two previous performances against Newcastle
and London City Lionesses which saw us win our last two
pre-season games going into Sunday’s match.
The players and staff have worked so hard this week to
make sure we learn quickly from last Sunday. We’re a new
team with lots of changes and we know it’ll take a bit of
time to gel and form connections, but we are all focused
on making sure we put a performance in that our fans can
enjoy and be proud of.
I know you will all get behind us as we look to get our first
three points of the season.
