Enjoy live Christmasmusic, shopping, hot drinks and delicioustreats, followed by a countdown to Santa’sarrival, when he flips the switch at dusk andlights up Main Street.Get into the holiday spirit with carriage rides on Hendersonville’sbeautiful Main Street. Experience the twinkling Christmas lightsand decorations of downtown Hendersonville at the leisurely paceof a horse-drawn carriage.Carriage rides begin in front of the Historic Courthouse. They arefree on a first-come, first-serve basis. The rides are part of the OldeFashioned Christmas celebration by downtown merchants. Stores,shops and boutiques stay open late and Ol’ St. Nick makes anappearance.Peppermint Bear takes you on a fun-filled bear hunt indowntown Hendersonville in search of her lost cubs. Hint:thecubs are hidingin downtown businesses.Once you have found a lost cub in at least 12 of 28participating businesses and the shopkeeper has punchedyour brochure, you are eligible to win scavenger hunt prizes.Peppermint Bear Scavenger Hunt brochures will be availableat the Hendersonville Welcome Center, located at 201 SouthMain Street, starting Nov. 24.Hendersonville’s Night-time Christmas ParadeHendersonville’s Christmas Parade is a must-seeholiday experience, a ribbon of festive floats andmarching bands illuminating Main Street. Localbusinesses and organizations get into the holiday spiritas they try to out-do each other with creativelydecorated and lighted vehicles and floats.The event, hosted by the Hendersonville Merchants andBusiness Association, is capped by an appearance by thebig man in red himself, Santa Claus.
