PRIOR to 2020 the Nairobi Trio had<br />
been regular visitors to Lyttelton over<br />
many years. Following a log hiatus they<br />
returned in 2024 to a rapturous reception.<br />
e audience were again drawn into their<br />
world as the band weaved their magic,<br />
demonstrating the freedom of expression<br />
you could only expect from such<br />
seasoned professionals.<br />
Always playing to the crowd, their<br />
energy and uidity traverses a wideranging<br />
repertoire lled with skilfully<br />
craed original material, re-imagined jazz<br />
standards, as well as selected tracks off<br />
their 10 studio albums (spanning three<br />
and a half decades), all delivered in their<br />
own inimitable style.<br />
