Our story started in 1994, with a simple, 

homemade essential oil distillery built by 

Young Living Founder and father of the 

modern-day essential oils movement, 

D. Gary Young. While turning a passion 

into a profession is only a dream for many, 

for Gary it became a vibrant reality when 

he discovered the profound power of 

essential oils and began to cultivate and 

distil plants to produce the oils himself. 

His ever-expanding essential oil expertise, 

combined with his and CEO Mary Young’s

What are 

Essential Oils? 

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that are lovingly harvested 

from farm-grown and wildcrafted plants through careful steam distillation, 

cold pressing or resin tapping. The result is pure essential oils that are far 

more powerful than the botanicals from which they were extracted. We offer 

hundreds of single oils, blends and other oil-infused products that contain the 

optimal levels of specific, naturally occurring constituents to maximise their 

flawless potency. Whether you’re using oils to create a toxin-free home, for

How to use 

Essential Oils 

AROMATICALLY 

All Young Living essential oils feature a signature aroma you can smell 

for a wide variety of benefits. One oil’s crisp scent can be invigorating, 

while another’s soothing aroma can help you unwind after a long day. 

Here are some ways to experience the aromatic benefits of a Young 

Living essential oil: 

• Inhale directly 

• Use a diffuser 

• Mix with your DIY cleaners 

TOPICALLY 

Applying essential oils topically allows your skin to absorb the benefits. 

Visit our website product pages for suggested uses to explore or start 

with these tips: 

• Place 2–3 drops of essential oil directly on your feet, wrist, chest or 

neck. 

• Add a few drops to your moisturiser or other personal care products. 

• Use in a massage. 

CAUTION: Always follow the label’s dilution instructions. Essential oils are very 

potent and may be irritating to the skin. If irritation occurs, apply Young Living’s 

V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or any pure plant-based oil to the area to 

dilute. 

Citrus essential oils and blends may cause photosensitivity; avoid direct 

sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying them. 

FLAVOURING 

Some Young Living essential oils are generally regarded as safe (GRAS) 

to add to your recipes and beverages. If you think an oil smells terrific, 

wait until you taste it! Seasoning your favourite recipes with our culinary 

essential oils lets you savour all their spicy, herbaceous, fruity potential. 

Here are three ways to take culinary essential oils internally: 

• Add to a glass of water 

• Take in a vegetarian capsule 

• Use a drop in place of herbs, zest or juice
