Torchlight hike

Every Thursday from end of December till

beginning of March. A romantic walk with

torches along the riverside to the Gasthof

Glemmerhof.

Illuminated tobogganing fun

at the practice lift in Viehhofen

From 04:00 - 09:00 pm the practice slope at

the zellamseeXpress valley station becomes

a floodlit area. Perfect for plate slides and

tobogganing. A fun for all ages.

Slide plates can be borrowed at Ski Dome

Oberschneider.

Winterwanderwege ... on relaxed ... paths

Burgstein round

Opposite the Tourist Service Centre you

walk through the forest to the photo

point. There you can enjoy the best view

of Viehhofen. The path continues via

Burgstein to the hiking trail, on which it

goes along the Saalach back to the town

centre.

Walking time: approx. 45 min

To the Hecherhütte

The hike to the Hecherhütte starts in the

village centre. Follow the road and enjoy

the view of the Glemmtal as well as the

gentle serpentines through the forest.

The sun terrace of the Hecherhütte invites

you to linger and is an ideal meeting point

for skiers - as it is located directly on piste

no. 168.

Walking time: approx. 1,5 hours.

Altenberg

Follow the road uphill through the village

to the flood barrier. Turn right and follow

the road into the sun with a great view of

Viehhofen and the Glemmtal.

Note: The path is partly very steep.

Walking time: approx. 1 hour.

Niederbrand chapel

Spend some quiet time on a hike to the

Niederbrand chapel. Start at the tennis

court and follow the signs. Your goal is a

place of power where you can recharge

your batteries.

Walking time: approx. 45 min

Rehrenberg loop walk

After the zellamseeXpress, turn right into

Rehrenbergstraße. Follow the road until

you discover a path in a bend (before the

Remberghof) that leads to a bridge. Cross

the bridge and follow the road (downhill).

Along the Saalach you walk back to the

village centre.

Walking time: approx. 30 minutes

Towards Maishofen

Along the Saalach (out of the valley)

The hiking trail along the Saalach takes you to

Maishofen. On the way there is the Gasthof

Glemmerhof and invites you to take a break.

Tip: The hiking trail to Gasthof Glemmerhof

is illuminated until 10:00 pm and is therefore

also suitable for evening excursions.

Towards Saalbach

Along the Saalach (into the valley)

There is also a hiking trail along the Saalach

into the valley. Which is illuminated until the

end of the village and is accessible to the

Exenbachgraben/bus stop.

Note: It is not possible to walk to Saalbach.

The Tannwald slope No. 21 on the Schmittenhöhe offers experienced skiers 4,5 kilometres

of fantastic views of the Glemmtal valley. Afterwards, it‘s a relaxed ride down the X4

Variant run into the valley. A real insider tip for ski fans who want to discover more of the

Schmittenhöhe and want to return to Viehhofen!


Schmittenhöhe

Kidsslope on the Glocknerwiese

An adventure world for young skiers with waves, obstacles, tunnels and a slalom course. In

addition, the fascinating story of the Schmitten dragon Schmidolin is told from attraction

to attraction.

Schmidolins Dragon Park

Through archways, over wave tracks, through the tunnel – and back to the start again! Fun,

action and variety are guaranteed at this adventure area on the Schmittenhöhe. At the

different “challenges”, kids can internalise what they’ve learned and finetune their technique.

Trass descent - The Hahnenkamm slope of the Pinzgau region

A descent with more than four kilometres in length and 70 percent gradient lies right ahead

of you. The start is at the start box – only a few metres away from the Elisabethkapelle.

First, head down blue slope number 1 – past the Panorama Restaurant and the trassXpress

mountain station. Keep left and take a turn onto Breiteckalm. Then continue on black slope

No. 14. The track ends at the valley station of the Schmittenhöhebahn.

Skimovie track

At slope No. 18 | Hochmaisbahn - Schmiedhoflift mountain station.You always wanted to

have a video of you giving your all on skis or a snowboard? Then the Skimovie track is the

perfect slope for you! On www.skiline.cc, you can admire your racing video right after. An

unforgettable racing experience!

Snowpark

At the Hochmaisbahn mountain station, 12 obstacles are waiting to be tested by you. Every

winter sports enthusiast gets their money‘s worth here. There is an entry point for beginners

and an entry point for advanced riders.

Funslope XXL

At the mountain station Hochmaisbahn 12 obstacles are waiting to be mastered by you!

The Snowpark on the Schmittenhöhe is divided into two areas – one for beginners and

one for advanced. That way, every skier and snowboarder can enjoy their time at the

Snowpark to the fullest.

Ski‘n‘Brunch on the Schmitten

Early in the morning, before the rooster crows, it goes up on the mountain for all Ski‘n‘Brunch

participants. A unique experience, where you have the slopes for only yourself and admire

a breathtaking sunrise from the mountain. Our top-event „Ski‘n‘Brunch“ enables an

unforgettable start in your ski day with a culinary highlight at the brunch after.

Junior Xplore CARD

For those under the age of 19 (born 2007 - 2019) the ski pass only costs € 15,00 on

Saturdays. (Only available on the respective Saturday and only at the lift ticket offices,

cannot be purchased in advance.)

Easter Bonus (valid from 28/03/2026 – 06/04/2026)

You will receive a free ski pass for children born in 2010 and later if you buy an adult 4-day

ski pass (excluding Super Ski Card).

MiniAlpini Card - free of charge

Small children, born in 2020 and later may use the miniAlpini Card for free on every lift.

Family Card

With the Family Card mum and dad can take turns and share one ski ticket – for a onceonly

partner fee of € 15,00 additional to the regular ticket price. The Family Card can only

be purchased directly at the ticket counter and is available for a period of 2 to 8 days.

The ski pass photo needs to show mother, father and child, all three are required to be

present when buying the Family Card.

region, and while there are no ski tours and cross-country ski trails in the village itself, you

benefit from the proximity to first-class touring and cross-country skiing areas in the region.

Ski tours around Viehhofen

A wide range of ski tours await you in the

immediate vicinity, offering something for

every level. Here you can enjoy the unspoilt

winter landscape to the full and look forward

to breathtaking panoramas from the various

peaks and alpine pastures. Whether you

want to go on a short and relaxed tour or

spend a whole day in the mountains.

• Ronachkopf in Thumersbach:

A 2.1 km long tour with a marvellous view of Zell am See and the Schmittenhöhe. The

easy ascent to the Enzianhütte (1,350 m) takes 1:30 h.

• „Icebreaker“ in Kaprun (Kitzsteinhorn):

3.8 km (1:50 h) to the Maurerlift mountain station.

• „Snow Queen“ in Kaprun (Kitzsteinhorn):

2 km (1:15 h) to the Alpine Centre. Both offer impressive panoramic views.

• Maiskogel tour in Kaprun:

6.8 km (3:00 h) with great views of the Zell basin and Salzach valley.

• Biberg in Saalfelden:

3.1 km (1:40 h), moderately difficult tour through the forest to the Berggasthof Biberg

with a view of the Steinerne Meer.

Cross-country skiing fans can choose from a wide range of options nearby:

• Valley end trail in Hinterglemm:

This 10.1 km long, challenging trail leads along the Saalach to the Lindlingalm and

offers exciting climbs. The start is opposite the B4 Zwölfer-Nordbahn cable car. Duration:

3:00 h

• Plettsaukopf high-altitude trail in Zell am See:

An easy 2.2-kilometre loop with stunning views along the edge of the forest. The start is

at the cityXpress mountain station. Duration: 0:35 h

• Ritzensee round in Saalfelden:

This 1.4 km cross-country ski trail, which is snow-covered and floodlit until 09:00 pm, is

ideal for night-time training sessions. Trail tickets can be purchased online.

• Cross-country ski run in Maishofen:

The cross-country ski trails in Maishofen offer wonderful loops through the idyllic winter

landscape. Thanks to its location, you can cross-country ski all the way to Saalfelden.

The ICE CAMP presented by Audi is THE meeting point in the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier

ski resort in Kaprun. On a sunny plateau in 2.600 m above sea level and in

the heart of the ski resort, a new artistic synthesis of ice and snow is created

here every year. The ICE CAMP is easily accessed via the pistes of the

Kitzsteinhorn. Hikers walk across the sign-posted ICE CAMP Trail (walking time

Viehhofen

Night tobogganing daily from 04:00 - 09:00 pm at the Viehhofen practice lift next to the

zellamseeXpress valley station. Plate slides can be rented at Ski Dome Oberschneider.

Reiterkogelbahn in Hinterglemm

Length: 3,2 km

Operating hours: daily 08:30 am - 04:15 pm

Night ride: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 04:15 – 09:30 pm (illuminated until 10:30 pm)

For your own safety, only toboggans rented directly from the lift company can be used on

the toboggan run. The use of the gondola (also night ascent) is included in the valid ski

pass! Single tickets and evening cards available.

Toboggan rentals per day: € 13,00 (available at the D1 Reiterkogel lift)

Deposit per toboggan: € 50,00 (deposit will be refunded only by sled return on the same

day till 05:00 pm (daytime operation) or 10:00 pm (nighttime operation).

We have put together a selection of meeting places next to the slopes. So there is nothing

in the way for a holiday for all kinds of winter lovers.

The Hecherhütte directly at the Viehhofen slope no. 168.

Reachable on foot, by car (snow chains) or taxi.

The zellamseeXpress in Viehhofen takes you to lofty heights on

the Schmitten. After a short walk you reach the Hochzellerbahn (lift

is included in the ticket). From the top station you walk further on to

the Berghotel Schmittenhöhe.

At the Schönleitenbahn,(I1+I2) reachable by ski bus or public

bus:

next to the valley station: „Hochwart Tenne“ (3)

next to the middle station „Rachkuchl“ and „Hochwartalm“ (4)

The Maisalm at the Kohlmais, (H1+H2) reachable by skis via piste

no. 152 and on foot from the valley

Luisalm und Bärnalm are directly at the Bernkogelbahn (G1)

mountain station situated.

Hinterglemm offers the Wieseralm (8) next to the Reiterkogel (D1)

mountain station. With a nice walk you get to the Pfefferalm (9),

from where you can continue your walk down to the valley.

Directly at the mountain station of the Hochalmbahn (C1) is

the 1350 Alm - a hut in modern alpine style.

At the mountain station of the 12er Kogel (B1+B2), there is the 12er

Treff (11) and next to the middle station Genuss hoch 12 and Winkler

Alm (12) . On a walk from the middle station to the valley (approx. 2

h) you can stop at the Ellmaualm (13) and the Hintermaisalm (14).

Only a few metres from the top station of the Westgipfelbahn

(A3+A4) you will find the Westgipfelhütte.

At the top station of the SchattbergXpress (A1+A2) is the

SkyRest situated.

Early bird skiing

Getting up early is worth it, because from Mid-January the 12er KOGEL (B1+B2), 12er Express (B3),

12er NORD (B4) Hochalmbahn (C1), Hochalm 6er (C3), Reiterkogelbahn (D1), Hasenauer

8er (D2) and Kohlmaisbahn (H1+H2) are operating from 08:00 am. Get your best runs of the day

on the fresh slopes or powder – an experience you will surely not regret!

Funslopes

At the 12er KOGEL (B1+B2) you can look forward to steep turns, snow waves, small jumps, and—as

the highlight—a large snow snail with a tunnel. The Funslope U-Bahn (A9) offers a classic funslope

with speed boost, waves, steep turn, tunnel, and many “low-fives.”

At the Bernkogel (G1), snow tunnels, high-fives, a giant xylophone, waves, kickers, steep turns,

and other fun elements ensure plenty of action.

Floodlit slope at the U-Bahn (A9)

Operating hours: daily from 08:30 am to 04:15 pm

Night skiing: Monday, Wednesday and Friday until 9:30 pm.

Cable car is included in a valid ski pass (also night ascent). For visitors without a valid ticket, single

tickets are available:
