WASTEWATER TREATMENT COMPANY OF THE MONTH

A leading force in UK

wastewater innovation

In this issue of Products & Services Review, we are pleased

to feature Marsh Industries as our Wastewater Treatment

Company of the Month

ounded in 2005, Marsh Industries emerged

a pivotal moment for the UK wastewater

Ftreatment sector. At a time when the industry

was becoming dominated by large international

corporations, Marsh Industries saw a unique

opportunity: to deliver high-quality, technically

advanced products while retaining the agility

and personal service of an independent British

business. From the outset, the company has placed

engineering excellence and exceptional customer

care at the heart of everything it does – principles

that remain firmly embedded in its culture today.

Proudly independent and still led by its original

founders, Marsh Industries has continued to evolve,

innovate, and invest in

market-leading wastewater,

sewage treatment, and

environmental solutions.

Its operations now span

multiple sites across

the country, with major

manufacturing and

distribution facilities in

Bridgwater, Somerset,

and two additional

strategic locations in

Northamptonshire. This

nationwide footprint enables

the company to maintain

efficient production,

streamline logistics, and

deliver a fast, responsive

service for customers

throughout the UK.

With a strong commitment

to sustainability, product

development, and long-term

customer partnerships,

Marsh Industries continues

to set new standards in

the industry. As demand

grows for environmentally

responsible and futureproof

infrastructure, the

company remains dedicated

to delivering solutions

that perform to the highest standards – reliable,

innovative, and built to last.

We sat down with Steve Boyer, Managing Director,

who explained the company’s core focus and

industry position, “Marsh Industries specialises in

high-quality off-mains drainage solutions, supplying

products such as sewage treatment plants, pump

chambers, and separators. Our range meets rigorous

industry standards – we currently hold over 20

EN certifications – ensuring our systems are both

reliable and environmentally compliant. Our focus

is on providing long-lasting, sustainable wastewater

solutions for both domestic and commercial

applications.

“We’re proud to be recognised as a major player in

the domestic sewage treatment market, trusted by

installers, specifiers, and merchants nationwide.

Beyond our strong domestic presence, we’re also

continuing to expand our footprint within the

commercial and civil engineering sectors, where

demand for robust and efficient wastewater systems

continues to grow.

“Innovation has always been central to what we do.

We’re particularly proud of our latest developments,

including the Natural Solutions range and Gaia

design, which provide environmentally conscious

answers to modern drainage challenges. In

addition, products such as the Marator continue

to demonstrate our commitment to engineering

innovation, quality, and performance – helping

clients achieve compliance while reducing

environmental impact.”

The Marator oil separator represents a significant

advancement in separator technology, surpassing

the limitations of current industry standards.

Incorporating cutting-edge nanofiltration, it delivers

discharge performance up to 50 times cleaner than

conventional systems – achieving levels below

0.1mg/litre, compared to the class-leading standard

requirement of <5mg/litre. Available in a wide range

of sizes, the Marator series is engineered to manage

flows from 10 to 250 litres per second, making it a

versatile solution for a variety of commercial and

industrial applications.

Beyond its innovative and extensive product

portfolio, what truly distinguishes Marsh Industries

is its commitment to quality assurance and technical

expertise. The company’s systems are backed by

full third-party certification, and its highly skilled

workforce ensures every solution is engineered and

supported to the highest standards.

“Our team combines engineering expertise with a

customer-first approach, ensuring every product

and project is backed by technical understanding,

compliance, and ongoing support,” added Steve.

“We don’t just supply products – we deliver complete

solutions to UK builders’ merchants, civil engineers,

and specifiers, many of whom have worked with us

for years. We value these long-standing partnerships

and take pride in the trust our customers place

in our products and service. Whether supplying a

single domestic system or a large-scale commercial

project, our goal remains the same – to deliver

quality and reliability every time.

“Our guiding philosophy, ‘Engineering Excellence –

Providing Sustainability, Building a Greener Future’,

captures the essence of who we are. We believe that

great engineering and environmental responsibility

go hand in hand. Every decision we make, from

design through to delivery, is shaped by our

commitment to quality, innovation, and a sustainable

future.”

Following a recent investment in the expansion of its

production facilities, Marsh

Industries now has introduced

a new range of rotationally

moulded products. This

investment not only increases

its manufacturing capacity

but also enhances its ability

to innovate and respond to

emerging market needs. An

exciting step forward as the

company continues to evolve

and grow!

In closing, we asked Steve to

reflect on the road ahead for

Marsh Industries, and how he

believes the company’s role

and responsibilities within the

industry will continue to grow:

“Looking ahead, our focus is

on expanding our work within

Natural Solutions, particularly

addressing the ongoing

phosphate challenges in UK

waterways. We see this as

a vital area for innovation

and environmental progress

– and we’re committed to

being part of the solution

through sustainable, practical

technologies that make a real

difference.

“At the heart of Marsh Industries is our people.

Their knowledge, dedication, and passion are what

drive the business forward every day. As Directors,

we recognise the responsibility we have – not

only to our customers and partners but also to our

team and the wider environment. It’s this sense of

responsibility that shapes every decision we make

and continues to guide our journey into the future.”

Remi, who today supports highlevel

Almost a year on from appointing its now 50%

forces are concentrated in a very small

volume. The vacuum separates the

particles and then disperses them at

a shear rate that is 1,000 times higher

and with a volume-specific power

that is 30,000 times higher compared

to conventional technologies. “The

result is significantly shorter process

times, lower energy consumption and

and significant savings in costs, raw

materials and space requirements,”

says Jacob.

Carmela Coop-Rodia, Event Director, said,

“We have been overwhelmed by the positive

response from across the emergency services

community. Exhibitors, speakers, partners and

visitors alike have enthused about the event

and are already making their plans for next

year. We’re very proud to have brought an event

to the market that will truly make a difference

to public safety now and in the future.”

With thousands of attendees and positive

engagement from across the sector, The Blue

fixture in the emergency services calendar.

Across the show floor, over 130

exhibitors and sponsors showcased

the latest advancements in equipment,

vehicles, communication technology,

of emergency services teams.

Conference sessions included a

Revolutionary speech recognition tech

FlexSR exhibited at The Blue Light Show on

the 18-19 June this year at the Olympia,

London and wowed attendees with recent

advancements in its patented speech

recognition tool.

Born from decades of peer-reviewed research,

FlexSR is an Oxford University developed

system designed to recognise speech like

a human brain. It can detect any language,

dialect, or specific words and phrases; without

need for model training on vast data volumes.

This enables the program to operate in lowpower

situations, in real-time, and it can find

words or phrases in milliseconds without

transcription. FlexSR can also be managed

without specialist training and can run on bodyworn

video cameras or radios as a companion

device.

Of special interest to police attendees of the

Blue Light Show was FlexSR’s application in

hostile work environments. As FlexSR can

be run on small devices, the police could

use the system to monitor real-time speech

to recognise trigger words and initiate a

broadcast for assistance in case of danger, as

well as communicate with speech impaired

individuals.

Another special capability seen, is to be

piloted with a Police Contact Centre taking

over 3 million calls a year, to enable real-time

to next level

edical Wire & Equipment Co (Bath) Ltd

M(MWE) is a leading manufacturer of medical

devices, specialising in single-use disposables

and pre-analytical products for the healthcare

industry. The company is committed to

sustainability and has recently made a significant

switch from wood fibre cartons to zero-tree

cartons made from crop waste, branded as RAW,

underscoring its dedication to environmental

responsibility.

MWE is spearheading innovation in sustainable

packaging by partnering with Test Valley

Packaging to adopt zero-tree RAW packaging

materials. This strategic move positions MWE

as a pioneer in the medical device industry,

significantly enhancing its sustainability

credentials.

The new packaging materials have exceeded

expectations in terms of quality and durability.

Despite rigorous global shipping and sterilisation

processes, the zero-tree RAW cartons have proven

to be robust and reliable. This switch has enabled

MWE to redesign its packaging using lower-grade

materials without compromising on quality or

structural integrity.

Print quality on the new zero-tree RAW cartons

remains high, ensuring that MWE’s branding

and information are clearly communicated to

customers worldwide. This consistency in quality,

combined with the environmental benefits, makes

the transition a landmark achievement for the

company.

The transition to zero-tree RAW cartons is a

significant step towards reducing Medical Wire &

with the company’s broader sustainability goals

solutions company,

announces the launch of

TailorTemp ® , the latest radical

innovation within temperaturecontrolled

packaging for the

pharmaceutical industry.

The packaging company

presented the product for

the first time at PharmaPack

Europe 2025 (Paris) between

the 22nd-23rd January 2025.

TailorTemp ® packaging

solution is designed by DS Smith to support the

sustainability targets of pharmaceutical and

biotech businesses, meeting their need to store

and transport delicate medicinal products across

multiple territories within rigorously controlled

temperature environments.

TailorTemp ® is created from corrugated cardboardbased

material that is recyclable. The dimensions,

insulating thickness, and coolant quantity are

determined using a computer-based parametric

algorithm which has been co-developed by DS

Smith in partnership with an independent laboratory

specialising in thermal transfers. Designers can

then use the outcomes of the

modelling tool to fast-track

prototyping and validate

solutions in real conditions.

DS Smith has been able

to demonstrate that this

packaging solution can stay

cool for up to thirty-six hours.

The DS Smith component of

the TailorTemp ® packaging

solution, comprising an

outer box and the insulant

materials, is fully recyclable

and 100% plastic-free,

representing a sustainable alternative to Expanded

Polystyrene (EPS) for the packaging needs of

pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

The TailorTemp ® packaging solution can be tailored

to meet the requirements of each customer to

provide them with an efficient solution, and the

corrugated cardboard can be easily adapted to

the dimensions of a product to reduce the overall

size of the box, minimise the use of unnecessary

materials, and prevent waste.

THE PRINT SHOW REVIEW – TOP EXHIBITORS

The Print Show and The Sign Show welcome

over 5,300 attendees to 2025 events

Agfa, Fujifilm, swissQprint, InkTec Europe,

Vivid Laminating Technologies, Antalis and

Plockmatic Group were among the stand-out

names in The Print Show section of the hall,

while HP, Hybrid Services (Mimaki), Graphtec

The Sign Show.

Organisers of The Print Show & The Sign Show

are delighted to announce that more than

5,000 visits were recorded across the 2 events

this year, 34% more than in the previous year.

In total, 5,379 visits were reported during the

three-day events, which both ran from 23-25

September. The Print Show returned for its

ninth edition this year, while The Sign Show

was making its debut, co-located with its sister

event in Hall 3 of the NEC in Birmingham.

Both shows were hailed a tremendous

success, with exhibitors across the hall

reporting high levels of footfall, leads and,

in some cases, on-stand sales. Epson,

Crucially, such was the success of The Sign

Show that organisers have confirmed it will

return in 2026, again co-located with The Print

Show, which will celebrate its 10th edition in

2026. The 2 shows will again take place at the

NEC, switching to a larger hall to accommodate

an expected increase in stand demand. Dates

will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

“For me, this was the best event we have ever

put on,” said Chris Davies, event director for

both The Print Show and The Sign Show. “As

an organiser, we wanted to step it up a notch

this year, including an improved entrance area

and an enhanced Knowledge Zone speaker

area, and both visitors and exhibitors really

responded to it.

to strength. We’ve had excellent feedback from

exhibitors, many of which have indicated that

they will return for our 10th anniversary edition

Powering the next generation

of direct-to-film printing

next year.

“As for The Sign Show, this was clearly well

received by the wider industry, with exhibitors

and visitors praising its focus on signage and

how it has filled a gap in the market for an

event that showcases UK sign-making. We’re

delighted to be bringing it back for second

outing in 2026.”

In an industry that’s constantly evolving, few

companies embody innovation and customer

Yorkshire, this UK-grown business has become

one of the country’s most trusted names

in direct-to-film (DTF) printing – offering a

complete ecosystem of printers, consumables,

Founded during the first COVID-19 lockdown,

Inkfuse began as a modest vinyl-cutter

and heat-press business. But driven by an

eye for opportunity and a passion for print,

co-owners Richard Mitchell and his team

quickly transitioned into the fast-growing

DTF market. Today, Inkfuse operates from

dedicated production and showroom facilities,

supporting customers nationwide with

everything they need to print vivid, durable, fullcolour

transfers on demand.

What sets Inkfuse apart is its commitment to

service and integrity. Rather than simply selling

machines, the company focuses on building

relationships and empowering customers and

has established itself as a printing company

that offers not only high-quality printing

services but also the best advice, knowledge

and support when running a DTF machine.

That philosophy is reflected in every aspect of

its operations – from same-day dispatch on

ongoing technical assistance.

Inkfuse’s product

range is equally

The company

showcased its

latest flagship

model – the Super

it drew strong

attention from

both established

print providers and newcomers to the DTF

space. With its expanded CMYK + ORGB +
