of work consistently demonstrated across conveyancing. Collaboration,

mutual support, and shared ambition are hallmarks of the profession, and

celebrating successes and achievements is central to its culture. This year’s

HEADLINE SPONSOR INTERVIEW

CRAIG MATTHEWS

CEO, LEAP UK

What drew you back to take part in this

year’s awards, and why do you feel they

remain significant for the conveyancing

industry?

As the long-standing Headline

Sponsor, returning to the Modern Law

Conveyancing Awards is a natural

decision for LEAP. With the tenth

anniversary approaching in 2026, it feels

like a meaningful milestone.

What brings us back is seeing the impact

LEAP has on our customers. Watching

firms who use our technology receive

recognition is incredibly rewarding.

It reinforces why we invest in helping

conveyancers work more efficiently and

deliver better service.

The awards play a vital role in the

industry. They recognise firms driving

standards upward through quality

service, improved processes and

technology use. With the sector

developing at such pace, these awards

demonstrate excellence and encourage

firms to keep progressing.

Can you highlight some of the most

impactful developments LEAP has

delivered in the past year?

Over the past year, we have focused

on tools that make work easier for

conveyancers while improving the client

journey.

Automation has been a major area

of investment. By reducing repetitive

administrative tasks and simplifying

workflows, we allow fee earners to spend

more time with clients and less time on

paperwork.

We have continued to strengthen

integrations with key industry partners.

These integrations keep information

moving seamlessly through a transaction,

reduce delays and ensure firms can work

more collaboratively with stakeholders.

Mobile accessibility has been another

significant priority. Our LEAP Mobile App

continues to develop, making it easier for

conveyancers to progress cases wherever

they are. Clients feel the benefit through

quicker updates and more responsive

communication.

We are also investing heavily in

AI-led features that support accuracy,

compliance and intelligent automation, all

aimed at helping firms deliver a modern,

efficient and dependable service.

How is LEAP responding to changing

client expectations?

Clients today expect speed, clarity and

digital convenience. We are building tools

that allow firms to meet these demands

while maintaining high standards.

Our digital client services, such as the

client portal and mobile updates, provide

buyers and sellers with the visibility they

now expect. Clients no longer want to

chase their conveyancer for information.

They want real-time progress and clear

communication.

Automation and data-driven workflows

also help firms deliver a faster and more

accurate service, reducing avoidable

delays and giving clients reassurance.

Flexibility has become a standard

expectation. Digital onboarding,

electronic signatures and remote

collaboration are now central to how

many clients want to work. LEAP gives

firms the toolkit to deliver a modern,

convenient service in whichever way the

client prefers.

Looking ahead, how do you expect

technology to transform conveyancing?

Technology will continue to reshape

conveyancing in profound ways. We

expect further adoption of automation,

digital onboarding, integrated property

data and AI-supported processes, all

aimed at removing inefficiencies and

allowing conveyancers to focus on legal

expertise that clients value most.

Improved interoperability across the

sector will also be transformative. As

systems used by lenders, estate agents,

HM Land Registry and legal practices

begin to connect more effectively,

long-standing bottlenecks will reduce.

LEAP is committed to supporting

this integrated future by providing a

single platform that keeps every part

of a transaction running smoothly and

securely.

Client expectations for tech-enabled

services are rising quickly. Real-time

updates, digital signatures and mobile

access are becoming standard across

all age groups. People now expect

a seamless digital experience, and

technology is the most reliable way to

deliver it.

What defines exceptional client service

today, and how does LEAP support

this?

Exceptional client service is defined by

speed, clarity and consistent reassurance.

Clients want to be well informed,

confident in their transaction progress

and supported by a conveyancer who is

both efficient and accessible. They want

digital convenience without losing the

human connection.

LEAP helps firms deliver this by

reducing the administrative burden

on conveyancers through AI and

automation. This creates time for fee

earners to focus on conversations,

guidance and problem solving that

clients genuinely value.

Our client portal, mobile tools and

real-time updates enhance transparency

and make it easier for clients to stay

engaged. They can check progress,

upload documents securely and

communicate efficiently with their

conveyancer.

Consistency is crucial. With centralised

data and structured workflows, LEAP

helps firms deliver the same high

standard to every client, even when

workloads are heavy. By continuing to

develop AI-powered features, we are

helping firms offer a service that feels

modern, efficient and reliable while

meeting the expectations of today’s

increasingly digital clients.
