GOLF

Coach of the Year: Bob Green - Marblehead

Green helped guide the Magicians to a 12-2-2 record. In addition, the Red and Black retained the Tedesco Cup and

finished second in the Northeastern Conference. Three of Green’s golfers received conference honors.

O’Holleran averaged a score of 36.9

this season. A consistent golfer who

has no trouble finding the fairway,

he’s been elected captain for next

season.

The underclassman averaged 31

points per match and was crowned

Catholic Central League Individual

Champion after shooting 70 at

Gannon Municipal Golf Course.

The Prep’s captain recorded a shot

average of 37.5. Carew will be

playing Division 1 golf at Fairfield

University next year.

One of the key leaders for the

Tanners, Joyce enjoyed a strong

individual season. He was Peabody’s

No. 1 golfer and consistently racked

up points for his team.

Riley Driscoll

Lynn English

Junior

As English’s No. 1 golfer, Driscoll

faced the opposing team’s best every

match. Despite facing the toughest

competition, Driscoll ended the

season with a 12-0-2 record and was

named Greater Boston League MVP.

Tyler Ostroff

Swampscott

Sophomore

Ostroff posted an 11-3 match-play

record and averaged 36 over 14

matches. Ostroff qualified for the

Division 3 Massachusetts State

Tournament.

Micah Hashikawa

St. Mary’s

Senior

A team captain and leader,

Hashikawa averaged 28 points

per match and qualified for the

Individual State Finals, where he

shot 79 to place 12th in Division 2.

Tyler Forbes

Marblehead

Junior

Playing in the No. 1 slot for the

Magicians, Forbes compiled a

record of 6-4-4 while maintaining

a 37.9 stroke average. Forbes was

named to the NEC All-Conference

team.

Drew George

Lynnfield

Senior

George was Lynnfield’s team

captain and averaged 25.3 points

per match this fall. The Pioneer was

also named a 2025 state tournament

team member.

Vincent Finocchio

Bishop Fenwick

Senior

Named Fenwick’s Student-Athlete

of the Month in September,

Finocchio was the Crusaders’

team captain and one of the more

consistent shooters in the region.

VOLLEYBALL

Coach of the Year: Killeen Miller - Marblehead

The Magicians were 18-3 and advanced to the Round of 8 under the direction of Miller. One of the best seasons in Marblehead

history, the Magicians went undefeated (12-0) in the Northeastern Conference to capture the Dunn Division.

Brooke Braswell

Lynn Classical

Senior

As a team captain, Braswell set a

new Classical record with 299 kills

as a middle hitter and was named

Greater Boston League MVP.

Statewide, she ranked first at her

position in service aces (74) and

fifth in digs (145). Braswell helped

the Lady Rams record their best

season in history with a 19-3 record.

Audrey Manning

Lynnfield

Junior

Helping the Pioneers reach the

Final Four, Manning delivered all

season. The junior finished with 336

kills and a .371 hitting percentage.

The Cape Ann League MVP also

recorded 189 digs, 60 aces, and 58

blocks.

Alexia Vaquerano

Lynnfield

Senior

Vaquerano helped Lynnfield finish

the year with 21 wins and a Final

Four appearance. With 306 kills at

a .337 percent hitting percentage,

Vaquerano delivered a strong senior

campaign. She chipped in 35 aces,

22 blocks, and 266 digs as team

captain.

Emma Chevalier

Lynn Classical

Senior

The all-time assists leader in

Classical history finished her career

with 1,503 assists. The two-time

captain ended the season with 412

assists, 81 service aces, 147 digs, 50

kills, and 17 blocks. Chevalier was

a key contributor to the Lady Rams’

19-win season.

Greta Sachs

Marblehead

Senior

Sachs had a season to remember for

the Magicians. Named Northeastern

Conference MVP while also being

named to the Division 2 All-State

team, Sachs finished the season

with one of the highest hitting

percentages in the state (.412). She

also led Division 2 with 191 kills

and 84 blocks.

Lizzie Bettencourt

Peabody

Senior

Across her career, Bettencourt

racked up 1,154 kills and 876 digs.

As a senior captain, she averaged

5.2 kills per set with a 36.2 percent

kill percentage and 93.4 serve

percentage.

Kylie Murphy

Bishop Fenwick

Senior

Murphy finished her senior year with 155 kills and a .327 hitting

percentage. In addition, her serve was consistent all season with 44 aces.

The Crusader also compiled 59 blocks and 44 digs.

Coach of the Year: Kerri Doherty - Lynnfi eld

Doherty led Lynnfield to a 14-1-3 regular season record and No. 10 seed in the Division 3 tournament. The Pioneers advanced to the Round of 8 with victories

against No. 23 Old Rochester and No. 7 Hanover. Doherty was named Cape Ann League Coach of the Year and the Pioneers captured the conference.

The shot-stopper set St. Mary’s

records as she registered 11 shutouts

across 17 starts. Lopes allowed

just .53 goals per game and was

arguably the top goalie in the

Catholic Central League.

Lauren Mattia

Junior

Mattia capped off her junior

campaign with 15 assists and seven

goals. The playmaker can thread a

pass from anywhere on the field and

is a consistent offensive threat.

Korisianos was the engine in the

midfield for St. Mary’s and finished

the season with nine goals and eight

assists. The senior leaves as the

school’s all-time points leader (60).

Camdyn Driscoll

St. Mary's

Sophomore

Driscoll set new single-season

records at St. Mary’s with 25 goals

and 18 assists. Her 43 points set a

new benchmark in Spartans’ history

for a single season.

An All-Northeastern Conference

selection, Giard was a focal point

for the Big Blue all season. She

scored double-digit goals to fuel

Swampscott at Blocksidge Field and

beyond.

Paige Waldman

Senior

A steady force for the Magicians,

Waldman did whatever was needed

to earn a win and was named an

All-Northeastern Conference selection.

An All-Northeastern Conference

member, Dow enjoyed a stellar

season for the Sachems and was a

key, young playmaker.

Sophomore

Chalmers was arguably the

Crusaders’ top defender this fall.

She was rarely out of position and

sported stellar decision-making

under pressure.

Nola Maney

Freshman

Alyssa Norden

St. Mary's

Junior

Kate Andriano

Marblehead

Senior

She’s only a freshman, but plays like

a veteran on the field. Maney was a

force defensively and her ability to

transition up and downfield made

her an extremely useful player for

coach Kerri Doherty.

A dynamic player with the stick

in her hands, Norden finished the

season with 23 goals and 15 assists.

She was named a Catholic Central

League All-Star.

A leader on defense, Andriano was a

tireless worker around the backline.

Not many athletes got by Andriano,

who was named an All-Northeastern

Conference selection.

Coach of the Year: Dave Crowell - St. John’s Prep

Crowell led the Eagles to the top seed in the Division 1 tournament with a 15-1-2 regular season record. His free-flowing system

saw St. John’s Prep advance to the state championship game, where the team fell just short against Natick.

Garrison Murphy

Senior

Left foot or right, it didn’t matter

for Murphy, who was All-American

this season. When the lights were

brightest, Murphy stepped up

and scored six goals across five

postseason games to lead the Eagles

to the Division 1 title game.

George Spellios

Swampscott

Senior

One of the top defenders in the

region, Spellios was forced to play

different positions for the Big Blue.

Despite primarily being a defender,

Spellios netted seven goals and

provided an assist to cap off his

Swampscott career.

Jossue Giron

KIPP

Senior

Giron always made an impact when

he put his KIPP jersey on. The

Panther scored more than 20 goals

and dished out more than 15 assists.

Rocco Scenna

Lynnfield

Senior

Scenna did whatever Lynnfield

needed — and at a very high level.

The dynamic goal-scorer was named

Cape Ann League Player of the Year

and will suit up at Bowdoin College

next year.

Jade Abila

St. Mary’s

Freshman

Just a freshman, Abila made the

most of his opportunities. With

an injured frontline, Abila was

forced to play early and all he did

was score and create goals. Abila

scored the game-winning goal in

the semifinals of the Lynn City

Tournament, while scoring two more

game-winning goals this fall.

creative players in the Northeastern

Conference, finishing the season

with 17 assists. In addition to

facilitating, Druker found the

scoresheet nine times.

Fontela-Tuttle delivered a strong

season as the Magicians’ top striker.

He scored 12 goals and finished

with four helpers.

Droggitis, a netminder, allowed

just 12 goals across 22 games this

fall. The shot-stopper registered

14 shutouts to help lead St. John’s

Prep to the Division 1 championship

game.

The Catholic Central League

Offensive Player of the Year was on

a tear for the Crusaders. While in

the midfield, Simon scored 14 goals

and produced seven assists.

Carlos Miranda

Saugus

Senior

Miranda has been on the varsity

team since he was an eighth grader,

and grew as a player and leader

each season. As captain this fall, he

fi n i s h e d w i t h s e v e n g o a l s a n d t h r e e

assists to lead Saugus.

Edison Chacón

Senior

Chacón was a dynamic playmaker

who consistently created chances

as Classical’s striker. Chacón

concluded the fall with 13 goals

and three assists.

Coach of the Year: Candice Dangora - Bishop Fenwick

In just her first season in charge, Dangora led the Crusaders to an 11-5-2 regular season

record — the program’s best since 2019. Fenwick was seeded No. 16 in the Division 3 tournament.

Senior

St. Mary’s all-time leading scorer

(120 goals, 166 points) had a senior

campaign to remember. Skabeikis,

who will play Division 1 soccer at

the University of Massachusetts

Amherst, scored 29 goals and

recorded 12 assists this fall.

Ava Damiani

Lynnfield

Junior

If Lynnfield needed a goal, Damiani

was often the one who’d answer

the call. Damiani scored 21 goals,

while providing 16 assists. One of

her season highlights came against

North Reading, when she ripped

four goals.

Kaylee Barrett

Lynnfield

Junior

Scoring or facilitating, Barrett did it

all. With 15 goals and 15 assists, the

Pioneer did everything in the final

third. Barrett netted two hat tricks,

while scoring at least one point in

14 of Lynnfield’s 20 games.

Junior

Lynnfield’s go-to creator finished

with 16 assists and was the engine

of the Pioneers. She was named

Team MVP.

Eve Byrne

Swampscott

Junior

The shot-stopper was the last line

of defense for the Big Blue — and

a good one at that. Byrne made nine

saves per game and tallied

10 shutouts.

Cameryn Dunn

St. Mary’s

Senior

An engine in the midfield, Dunn

does the dirty work that often

goes unnoticed. The senior captain

worked tirelessly in every phase of

the game — and at an elite level.

Reese Spurchise

Bishop Fenwick

Junior

One of Fenwick’s leading scorers,

Spurchise did a bit of everything.

Her quick first touch and skills

allowed her to get past the

opposition and deliver a cross. Or,

she’d be on the receiving end and

make no mistake in front of the net.

Junior

Siefken led the Big Blue with 14

goals, despite playing more on

defense. An Eastern Massachusetts

First Team and Northeastern

Conference All-Star, Siefken was a

key reason for Swampscott winning

the Lynch Division and a playoff

game.

Sydney Ball

Marblehead

Senior

An All-New England selection, Ball

was an attacker’s worst nightmare.

The Temple University-bound

athlete played across the entire

backline and midfield. When active,

Marblehead conceded just three

goals.

Shalyn Sewell

Saugus

Senior

Silky with possession, Sewell

didn’t need much space to get

past her defenders. Whether it was

cracking a long shot or nutmegging

her opponent, when the ball was

at Sewell’s feet, it was nearly

impossible to get away from her.

Ainsley McDonald

Marblehead

Junior

After an ACL injury shortened

her sophomore season, McDonald

returned and didn’t miss a beat.

One of the top defenders in the

region, McDonald used her speed

and physicality to move opposing

attackers.

Braz and company did it again this fall. The Peabody boys were undefeated in the regular season and

captured the Northeastern Conference Dunn Division. The Tanners also won the conference meet.

A man on a mission for the

Bulldogs, De La Rosa finished

third in the Greater Boston League

championship with a time of 17:35.

On a side note, he also won Lynn’s

Turkey Trot (18:03).

Sok, a Greater Boston League

All-Star, represented the Rams well.

He finished 10th in the Greater

Boston League championship with

a time of 18:10.

With a personal-best 5K time of

15:47, the Catholic Conference

All-Star finished fourth in The

Prep’s conference championship

win and 22nd in Divisionals.

Lynn English's Ian De La Rosa leads the pack in Lynn Woods.

Simon Brown

Senior

A Swampscott speedster and All-

Northeastern Conference runner,

Brown finished sixth in the NEC

championship with a time of 16:35.

Mohamed Lhassouani

Peabody

Senior

Lhassouani, who placed third

(16:22) in the Northeastern

Conference championship, was an

All-Conference runner and finished

18th statewide in Division 1.

Will Cruikshank

Marblehead

Senior

Speedy to say the least, the

Magicians’ captain finished eighth

in the Northeastern Conference

championship, 12th in the Division

2A championship, and 35th in the

Division 2 championship.

Henrik Adams

Senior

Marblehead’s captain finished eighth

in the Division 2A championship,

ninth in the Northeastern

Conference championship, and 31st

in the Division 2 championship.

He only lost to Beverly’s top two

runners across the entire dual-meet

season.

Herlihy led a strong program this fall, one that captured the Northeastern Conference Dunn

Division and won the conference meet. Herlihy was the NEC’s Coach of the Year.

was undefeated in dual-meets and

Division 2C and Division 2 meets.

She improved one of her

year-to-year times by 61

seconds in Devens.

Marri O’Connell

Marblehead

Senior

O’Connell placed first in the Frank

Kelley Invitational and Northeastern

Conference championship, as well

as ninth in the Division 2 state

championship. For her efforts, she

was named NEC MVP.

Peabody’s All-Northeastern

Conference runner finished eighth

in the NEC championship and 19th

statewide in Division 1. At the All-

State meet in Devens, Braz recorded

a speedy time of 20:17.

Adelaide Sweatman

Bishop Fenwick

Junior

A three-time Catholic Central

League All-Star, Sweatman won five

of six dual-meet races and lowered

her personal-best 5K time to 19:16.

Annabelle Averett

Swampscott

Sophomore

The speedster led Classical with

an eighth-place finish (22:52)

in the Greater Boston League

championship. De Leon was named

a GBL All-Star.

Sarah Munroe

Marblehead

Junior

A top-three finisher across

all Northeastern Conference

competitions, Munroe received

All-NEC honors and placed 13th in

the Division 2 state championship.

The underclassman received All-Northeastern Conference honors this fall

— the only member of the Big Blue to do so. By just a split second, Averett

finished second in the Northeastern Conference championship with a time

of 18:38.

McHale finished ninth in the Greater

Boston League championship with

a quick time of 23:06. Her stellar

career was capped off with GBL

All-Star honors.

Abby Lopez

Lynnfield

Senior

Lopez was Lynnfield’s top runner

in every race this season. She

medaled with an 11th-place finish

in the Bay State Invitational and

12th-place finish in the Frank Kelley

Invitational. According to coach

Liane Cook, Lopez improved her

time by more than five minutes from

the beginning of last season.

Coach of the Year: Tyllor McDonald - Lynn English

In his second season in charge, McDonald led the Bulldogs to a 9-2 record and English reclaimed the Greater Boston League title.

The Bulldogs excelled at all three phases of the game and capped off the season with a Turkey Day win against Lynn Classical.

The hard-nosed running back did

it all for the Bulldogs. Whether it

was up the middle or an outside

run, Beauchamp excelled en route

to 1,583 yards rushing and 18 total

touchdowns.

Shane Knowlton-Simard

Lynn English

Senior

In his first year playing quarterback,

you probably wouldn’t have been

able to tell. The Greater Boston

League MVP and former wide

receiver compiled 2,700 yards of

total offense and 38 touchdowns.

Merryman, also a stellar linebacker,

led the Spartans with 906 yards

rushing – all while finding the end

zone 10 times and never fumbling

the ball.

Nate Cutone

St. Mary’s

Senior

A fullback who created holes for

his running backs, Cutone was the

one who set the backfield free. On

defense, Cutone made 72 tackles

and recorded a sack. He also scored

the first two touchdowns of his

career on Thanksgiving Day against

Bishop Fenwick.

A Greater Boston League All-Star,

Nolan rarely came off the field for

the Rams. He led the team in tackles

(70) and tackles for loss (12), while

also playing fullback and guard

offensively.

Manny Mendez

Lynn Classical

Senior

Mendez, a starting defensive end,

led the Rams with seven sacks and

18 tackles for loss. He also blocked

two punts.

There’s one thing that coaches can’t

teach — and that’s raw speed. Peña

(1,223 total yards, 15 TDs) had a

boatload of it and was a threat all over

the gridiron. The Panther wrapped up

the season with three touchdowns and

141 yards rushing against Lynn Tech

on Thanksgiving Eve.

Joseph Beato

KIPP

Senior

A focal point of KIPP’s offensive

and defensive lines, Beato (65

tackles, 2 sacks) was a force in the

trenches. He consistently created

holes on offense and stuffed the run

on defense.

Senior

Despite being a safety, the

two-way player showed he could

enter the backfield with ease. Of his

102 tackles, 15 were behind the line

of scrimmage.

Senior

Lewis did a little bit of everything

for the Tigers in his senior season.

He accounted for 751 total yards

and scored nine touchdowns.

Defensively, Lewis finished with

two interceptions.

Will Bush

Swampscott

Senior

A senior captain and four-year

starter, Bush finished the season

with more than 1,000 yards rushing

and 11 touchdowns. Defensively,

Bush racked up 66 tackles to end

his Big Blue career in style.

Vaughn Hazell

Swampscott

Senior

A leader on the offensive and

defensive lines, Hazell was the

quarterback’s blindside protector at

left tackle. Hazell finished with 71

tackles, two sacks, and 15 tackles

for loss.

Chris Vargas

St. John’s Prep

Sophomore

In just eight games, Vargas threw

for 1,866 yards on 128-of-183

passing with 21 touchdowns and just

one interception. A standout game

was against Central Catholic when

Vargas threw for 287 yards and four

touchdowns.

Maxwell Parent

St. John’s Prep

Junior

The Eagles, well-known for their

ground game, relied on Parent, who

rushed for more than 1,000 yards. In

a playoff game against Leominster,

Parent set a St. John’s Prep record

with 354 yards rushing.

Riley Selvais

St. John’s Prep

Sophomore

A sophomore from Marblehead,

Selvais was one of Vargas’ favorite

targets. He caught 68 passes and

compiled 1,149 yards and 13

touchdowns. Selvais helped lead

the Eagles back to the Division 1

Super Bowl.

Tyler Connolly

Bishop Fenwick

Senior

Connolly did a bit of everything for

Fenwick. He scored five rushing

touchdowns and hauled in three

through the air. Defensively, he

made 119 tackles with a fumble

recovery and forced fumble.

Dylan Patturelli

Senior

The senior ball-carrier rushed for

1,153 yards and 14 touchdowns,

while also hauling in three receiving

scores to lead the Crusaders in

scoring. On defense, Patturelli made

101 tackles and forced two fumbles.

Finn Gallup

Marblehead

Senior

A captain who helped lead

Marblehead back to the state

tournament, Gallup could make

something out of nothing. Whether

it was extending the play before

launching the ball to an open

receiver or tucking the ball and

running, Gallup did everything

for the Magicians.

Breydan Callahan

Marblehead

Senior

Despite this season being his first

as a starting running back, Callahan

made the most of the opportunity

and proved to be one of the best in

the Northeastern Conference with

nearly 20 touchdowns.

Luke DiSilvio

DiSilvio was the Pioneers’ leading

receiver this fall, compiling

nearly 600 yards to go with three

touchdowns. He was a key returner

and team leader at Pioneer Stadium

Sachems, Jette was a force on the
