Taylor Swift’s dominance continued throughout 2025, with “Opalite” (Republic) now surging at radio. Her

record-breaking world tour captivated millions, reinforcing her status as a global icon. Swift’s ability to reinvent

herself while maintaining chart success remains unmatched, and her momentum shows no signs of slowing as she

enters another historic year. Sabrina Carpenter also enjoyed a breakthrough, with “When Did You Get Hot?” (Island/

Republic) climbing steadily. Her infectious energy and relatable storytelling have made her one of pop’s most exciting

voices, reflecting the growing appetite for fresh talent.

Country radio thrived in 2025, led by Luke Combs’ “Days Like These” (SMN/Columbia), Dustin Lynch’s

“Easy To Love” (Broken Bow), and newcomer Greyland James with “Water At A Wedding” (Nashville Harbor).

These songs highlight the genre’s strength, blending tradition with modern flair and proving country music remains

Beloved country quartet Little Big Town ushers in the holiday season with the surprise release

of a new Christmas song, “The Innkeeper,” out now via MCA. Produced by Little Big

Town and mixed and engineered by Gena Johnson at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios,

the heartfelt ballad is available digitally today and featured on the group’s acclaimed 2024

holiday album The Christmas Record, originally produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Dave

Cobb. Blending Little Big Town’s signature harmonies with timeless storytelling, “The Innkeeper”

reflects the band’s ability to bring new depth and meaning to the season through

song. The track, written by Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, alongside

acclaimed Nashville artists and songwriters Dean Dillon and Shelby Lynne, joins fan

favorites on the album including “Glow,” “Holiday,” “Evergreen,” and “Believe in Christmas.”

The release of “The Innkeeper” marks another milestone in Little Big Town’s celebrated

career, spanning multiple NMA, GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM Awards,

more than 45 award nominations, and over 2 billion career streams.

Little Big Town will bring their holiday magic to Nashville’s famed “Mother Church of Country

Music,” The Ryman Auditorium, for a four-night holiday residency this December. “The

Christmas Shows” Ryman Residency will take place December 1-4, 2025, and will feature

a mix of holiday classics and fan favorites from the chart-topping vocal group. Little

Big Town has a long-standing connection to the Ryman, including their historic 2017

residency, which marked the venue’s first time hosting a yearlong artist residency.

If you’re a musician, at some point, the city of

Nashville will be in your plans.

Music City USA

has earned its namesake.

For decades, aspiring

young, and not

so young country artists

have packed up all of

their belongings and

moved to the birthplace

of country music as we

all know it. A few were

overnight successes.

It took others a while

to make a splash.

A n d s t i l l o t h e r s

found odd jobs and

waited years, and finally

got their break.

While it’s true not

everybody that sets out to become a country superstar

makes the grade- in fact, it’s hard to be considered in

the Nashville elite as an “A” lister- that doesn’t stop

many from finding out what all the fuss is about.

Nashville is still country music’s home. But it’s

quickly becoming the home for artists of all genres to

see, and be seen.

There is one particular area that Nashville is successful

in keeping traditional, and deems it important

enough every year to draw radio station programmers

and music directors to the city. Sure, it’s a party to

some extent, but the Country Radio Seminar- CRS- is

not duplicated anywhere in the country by any other

radio format.

There’s a lot to be said about your country music

superstar. I take notice and pride in the fact that when

an artist wins an award, more times than not, they will

thank RADIO as part of being their success. Country

artists take the

time to talk to

stations, and in

turn their audience

base, and

make them feel

like they’re part

of the family.

Because, really,

the listener is to

the true country

music artist.

And vice versa.

That’s why radio

stations like the

legendary WSM

are known worldwide.

Country programmers mingle with artists and attend

seminars each year that both inform and entertain.

Networking is everything. And it is much easier now

than ever before to network and never spend a dime on

hotels, meals, and functions. But then, you miss out

on the true meaning of CRS. Shaking hands. Have a

beverage. Share ideas. No matter WHAT you do in

High School, celebrated hometown star Makenzie

Phipps with a special recognition ceremony. Honoring

Makenzie with the Key to the Town, the Outstanding

Citizen Award, and a formal proclamation declaring

Live Music Society has given

$5.1 million to small music venues

Live Music Society (LMS), the nonprofit

supporting small venues and listening rooms across

the U.S., today announced the recipients of its 2025

Toolbox grants, awarding $252,500 to 33 venues

across 19 states and Washington, D.C., including

the organization’s first-ever grantees in Nebraska

and Utah. Since launching the Toolbox program in

2023, LMS has awarded $844,111 to 109 venues.

The organization has now distributed a total of $5.1

million in grant funding overall to small performance

spaces nationwide since its founding in 2020, and

is proud to note that it has surpassed $1 million in

annual grantmaking for the second consecutive year.

Live Music Society continues to play a vital role in

supporting small performance venues, many of which

operate on razor-thin margins yet provide essential

stages for emerging artists and serve as cultural

anchors within their communities. The organization’s

small venues (50–300 cap) address short-term issues

that can have long-term positive effects on the health

and growth of the venue. Projects funded in this

round include accessibility improvements, sound and

lighting upgrades, and equipment that enables training

opportunities in live music production and stage lighting.

International pop star SHAB unveils the emotionally charged music video for her single “Skin &

Bones,” the title track from her recently released Skin & Bones (Remix EP). Inspired by a real-life

accident involving her partner, the video delivers a gripping, cinematic narrative about surviving

trauma and finding strength through love. The music video is available on YouTube. “This song

comes from the deepest place in my heart. The video is a love letter to anyone who’s ever been

Carrie Underwood is no stranger to the word “reality.” After all, as the winner of the 2005 season of

“American Idol,” she won the hearts of millions of viewers across the world. Now, the singer has entered into

a promotion that is sure to please her fan following.

Sony Music Nashville and Aurasma, the world’s leading augmented reality platform, have partnered

to launch an augmented reality promotional campaign for Underwood’s No. 1 album, “Blown Away,” which

was released in May.

Using the free Aurasma Lite app for iPhones, iPads and Android devices available from the iTunes App

Store and Google Play, fans can launch exclusive video of Underwood that is triggered by aiming the device

at the cover image of Blown Away. The video leaps from the Blown Away image on the mobile device or

tablet and provides a click-through gateway to the album at the iTunes store. The promotion was launched

in Nashville recently at the CMA Music Festival.

“Carrie Underwood is always looking for ways to connect with her fans,” said Gary Overton, Sony

Music Nashville chairman and chief executive officer. “We are excited to embrace a cutting-edge technology like augmented reality to help give fans

Upon its release on May 1, “Blown Away” made history by debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country albums sales chart making Underwood

only the second country artist in the 47 year history of the chart to have each of their first four albums debut at No. 1. “Blown Away” also debuted at

No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart making Underwood only the second country artist in history to have three consecutive albums debut at No.

1. “Blown Away” became country’s best-selling digital album debut since 2010.

released the title cut as the second single -- to follow up the chart-topping success of “Good Girl,” which became her fifteenth number one record.

Concert Crowdfunding:

a Supplementary Way to

Fund Shows

Whether you are looking to get employed by a band, orchestra

or music collective or are preparing for a solo career, putting on

concerts can help you practice performing in public, build a great

concert resume to help propel your career and even book the job

of your dreams.

You don’t have to be selling out stadiums or concert halls to

be able to muster up an audience for a crowdfunded gig. Moreover,

you can start a crowdfunding campaign for a private event for your

friends only (a private show for 10-20 people) or an intimate show

with under 50 people in attendance. This will both help you dip your

toes in crowdfunding and putting together a show on your own.

Where to start?

Begin the process with coming up with a topic for your event,

approximate playlist, as well as lineup – is it going to be a solo night

or will there be any guest artists? What about a host?

Next, it’s important to be realistic about your budget. Write up

all your costs: venue and staffing fees, equipment rent, promotion,

travel/accommodation costs, stage decor and costumes, as well as

your own fee and taxes.

Be diligent in estimating show budget since you’ll have to set

your ticket price and crowdfunding campaign goal based on that.

Don’t just ballpark it. Do your research, contact the venue and all

the companies/contractors you’ll be using for the event to get their

current rates for your specific event.

Important note: add 20% on top of your budget for unexpected

expenses. Most projects run over budget and it’s better to be

safe than sorry. Concert crowdfunding is designed to alleviate the

financial risks of putting on a show. Running into red just because

you made a miscalculation on the budget sheet would be a shame.

Also remember to give some thought to the service you are

going to use as your crowdfunding platform. The options can be

narrowed down to two categories: general-purpose crowdfunding

platforms, like Kickstarter or Indiegogo, or concert-specific services,

like Show4me concert crowdfunding toolkit. We recommend the

latter since it offers all the tools you might need to hold a professional

concert, down to automatic ticket generation and distribution, as

well as a free ticket scanner app.

Fees on these platforms are success-based and only apply to

winning campaigns.

How to promote it?

Although crowdfunding music events have been slowly

becoming more mainstream, many musicians shy away from them

just because it seems weird to ask fans to pay their way into a show

or a concert. Thing is, when promoting any event, you have to ask


your fans to buy your tickets, so any inconvenience you might feel

about this is all in your head.

It’s important to explain to your fans though that they need to

buy tickets early since the show depends on their support. We’ve

had artists who crowdfunded their events in Show4me refer to this

model of funding as “alternative” or “experimental”.

These seem to be fitting terms to describe concert crowdfunding.

It’s an alternative to the traditional ticket sales and it’s experimental

because the whole process turns into a fun journey where the end

result is not guaranteed – the show either raises enough to be held

or all contributions get fully refunded to the supporters.

In order for an event to happen, you need to market it across

your social media, your email list and your community (yes, we are

talking calling up your friends, going door to door and printing up

physical posters to plaster on local message boards).

Exciting description of your upcoming show along with eyecatching

promo visuals can significantly improve the chances of

your event actually pre-selling enough tickets to happen! (Since all

contributions to your crowdfunding campaign are listed as tickets,

we consider it fitting to call such a campaign a ticket pre-sale as

fans essentially pre-order a concert from you and once it reaches its

minimum budget, the tickets get generated automatically and sent

out to all backers on your behalf when you set the event date).

My event got funded, now what?

So you launched your concert crowdfunding campaign, put

your blood and sweat in promoting it and finally met your event

budget! Congrats!

Now, you need to contact your venue, set the show date, iron

out all your event details and coordinate production duties with your

team and supporting acts, and start producing your show. You do all

of this after you arrange funds withdrawal from your crowdfunding

site.

As you are putting together your concert, you need to still be

very active on your crowdfunding page, as well as social media.

Post updates about the preparation process and behind-the-scenes

photos and videos. Remember that raising the funds is only half

the job, you also need to maintain your fans’ interest leading up to

your show!

Post updates even from behind the curtain as you are preparing

to go on stage. Provide your fans with sneak peaks at the electric

atmosphere both off and on stage at your shows and remember to

thank everyone who helped you make the show happen: your team,

fellow acts, crew, producers, and the fans.

Don’t just thank the fans right after the show from the stage

though. Take the time to send out thank you notes via email, post

them across your social media, in your Show4me Artist club, and

even think about using snail mail for notes to your most dedicated

fans. Taylor Swift does it, why can’t you!

The New York based indie rock band Born Cages is set to

release their Sidelines EP via Razor & Tie. The band will hit the

road this summer as well. Born Cages new EP was produced

by Jon Kaplan (Walk The Moon, Augustana) and Oliver Straus

(Arctic Monkeys, Matt & Kim) at Mission Sound in Brooklyn,

NY. The band is finishing up their debut full length album to be

released later this year. The New York City based Born Cages

formed in 2011. Within one year the young band had already

released an EP, opened two sold-out shows for Guns N’ Roses and

shared stages with such bands as Gold Fields, Mother Mother, and

Ludo. The band has had music played on Q104.3 in New York

and recently recorded a session at the Gibson NYC showroom

that premiered on Purevolume. They were also featured on a large

billboard in Times Square as part of a Toshiba promotion. Born
