Mona Louis
June 11, 1955
December 12, 2025
ona Louis, 70, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on
December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 11, 1955, in
Pétion-Ville, Haiti, to Auguste Louis and Andrea Cherubin, Mona’s life was defined by
resilience, devotion, and generosity.
After completing her education in Haiti and attending trade school in Massachusetts,
Mona built a meaningful career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wingate in
Needham where many of her friendships were developed for over 20 years. Her
compassion and dedication touched countless lives, earning her recognition as an
outstanding employee and friend.
Family was Mona’s greatest joy. She is survived by her children, Cherlene Belizaire
and Lee Fritz Jean-Louis; grandchildren, Jaylen, Caiden, and Alivia; siblings, Mariette
Remy, Ginel Louis, “Didi” Louis, Luc-Henry “Luco” Louis (Cassie), and Foufoune
Louis; cousins Jeanne Michel, Lionel Charles, Marie Carmelle; and a host of nieces,
nephews, family and dear friends. Her cherished Boston Terrier, Bruno, was always by
her side.
Mona was known for her protective, focused, and fun-loving spirit. She cherished
Sunday dinners, kept family traditions alive, and loved cooking, crocheting, embroidery,
and dominos. She was a loyal Patriots and Celtics fan and always made time to support
those in need.
Her home was filled with laughter, Haitian Creole, and the warmth of her famous
phrase, “Mete fum sou ou,” (to take charge, get serious, toughen up, or “put your
big boy/girl pants on”). A phrase often used to encourage someone to be responsible
or handle their business, like a mother telling her child to get it together. It’s about
stepping up, acting maturely, and toughening up. That was Mona.
Mona’s legacy of strength, love, and joyful tradition will live on in all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.

I Made It Home
I just wanted to let you all know that I made it home.
The journey wasn’t an easy one, but it didn’t take too long.
Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new. I wish that you
all could close your eyes and that you could see it too.
Please try not to be sad for me. Try to
understand, God is taking care of me…
I’m in the shelter of His hands.
Here, there is no sadness, no sorrow,
and no pain. Here, there is no crying and I’ll never hurt again.
Here, it is so peaceful when all the angels sing. I really have to go
now...I’ve got to try on my wings.
