Bedding Sub-Industry and
Technologies Fair – Ibia Expo 2025
– drew significant attention with both
its exhibitor diversity and strong
visitor turnout. Bringing together
mattress, foam, fabric, spring,
wire, accessories and machinery
manufacturers, the fair stood out not
merely as a meeting point, but as a
commercial hub that elevated the
industry’s global competitiveness.
Throughout the four-day event,
B2B meetings, international
procurement delegations and
new product launches created a
dynamic atmosphere that addressed
the expectations of both Türkiyebased
manufacturers and global
industry professionals. In the sleep
technologies segment, the central
themes were automation, smart
components and high-efficiency
production systems.
Automation and transformation
at the core of Ibia Expo 2025
According to BIFAS Chairman
Ümit Vural, this year’s fair was
shaped around two main pillars: the
integration of robotic transformation
into the sector and the transition
toward full automation. He
emphasized that Türkiye’s bedding
sub-industry has strengthened its
global position not only through
production capacity but also through
rapid adoption of technology.
For the sleep ecosystem, these
insights underline a major point: a
mattress is no longer just a physical
comfort zone; it has evolved into
a technology-supported product
capable of enhancing personalized
sleep experiences. This expectation
drives a structural change from
production lines to end-user design.
Key highlights across the exhibition
halls included:
Smart bedding components:
Pressure-responsive layers,
advanced viscoelastic materials,
thermal-balancing gel structures and
modular systems designed to offer
personalized support.
Sustainable materials: Natural-fiber
fabrics, environmentally conscious
filling materials and recyclable
components.
Automated production solutions:
Fully automated mattress production
lines, automatic adhesive systems,
robotic cutting and high-capacity
packaging technologies.
These advancements not only
improve operational efficiency but
also raise quality benchmarks,
offering global competitiveness
across all product categories.
More than 20,000 professionals
visited the fair
According to the official fair
report, Ibia Expo 2025 welcomed
20,245 professional visitors,
including 14,088 domestic and
6,157 international buyers. The
fact that 41% of visitors were
mattress manufacturers created
a highly productive environment
for companies focusing on sleep
technology innovations.
The international profile once again
highlighted the event’s global reach.
Professionals from 92 countries
explored a wide spectrum of
technologies—from automation
systems to innovative components.
Among the most prominent visitor
46 SleepTech • November - December
groups were buyers from Russia,
the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Libya

translated into remarkable potential
for new partnerships and supplychain
opportunities for Turkish
manufacturers.
Exhibitor profile expanded,
machinery firms stood out
This year’s edition hosted 120
exhibitors in total: 89 domestic
and 31 international companies.
Domestic firms showcased
their products across 10,084
square meters, while international
participants exhibited in 1,309
square meters—together pushing
the fair’s scale beyond previous
years.
Exhibitor breakdown:
Sub-industry and materials: 79%
Machinery and technologies: 21%
The increased presence of
machinery manufacturers reaffirmed
the sector’s shift toward automationdriven
production. Fully automated
lines and high-capacity machinery
attracted considerable attention
throughout the event.
B2B programs boosted
commercial outcomes
One of the most impactful elements
of the 2025 edition was BIFAS’
strong procurement delegation
program. Supported by the Ministry
of Trade and various exporters’
associations, these programs
connected qualified buyers from
targeted markets with manufacturers
throughout the fair.
According to Vural, this system
not only supports new business
connections but also strengthens
companies’ export capabilities.
Furthermore, Ibia Expo’s status as
a “Certified International Domestic
Fair” enables exhibitors to receive
reimbursement for a portion of their
participation costs—an important
incentive particularly for SMEs aiming
to expand their global presence.
A strategic hub for the global
Sleep Tech sector
Türkiye’s rapid rise in mattress and
sleep-related technologies has
become increasingly visible with the
support of events like Ibia Expo. The
industry, which was valued at 1.5
billion USD in 2021, has surpassed
3 billion USD today. This significant
growth is driven by higher quality
standards, diversification of materials
and rapid adoption of automated
production systems.
For Turkish manufacturers, the fair
represents more than a showcase—
serving as a strategic gateway to
long-term international partnerships.
Vural notes that the fair contributes
at least 20% to the industry’s export
growth, with the potential to reach
35% through the right strategies.
From a Sleep Well perspective,
Ibia Expo also provides a unique
vantage point for observing how
emerging materials and smart
construction methods will influence
next-generation consumer products.
Many of the technologies introduced
this year are expected to shape
the foundations of 2026 sleep
collections.
Roadmap set for Ibia Expo 2026
Reinforcing its commitment to
continuity, BIFAS has already
announced the dates for the next
edition:
16–19 September 2026, Istanbul
Expo Center.
Key objectives for the 2026 fair
include:
Expanding international buyer
participation
Strengthening outreach in Africa,
Asia and South America
Supporting the industry’s target of 4
billion USD in turnover and 3 billion
USD in exports
Advancing technology-focused
product development
Encouraging full-automation
transitions across the sector
Ümit Vural’s message to the sector
was clear:
“The future will belong to
manufacturers who adapt to
technology.”
His view highlights the growing
importance of machinery
investments and innovative
component development in the
coming years.
Strong outcomes for the sleep
industry
Ibia Expo 2025 exceeded
expectations across the Sleep
Tech landscape. The strengthening
of international participation,
accelerating interest in machinery
technologies and heightened
demand for smart materials
collectively reflected the sector’s
upward global momentum.
For brands operating in the sleep
segment, the most significant
takeaway from this year’s fair
is the steady alignment around
high technology + high comfort +
sustainable production. These pillars
are set to influence not only product
development but also the strategic
direction of the industry over the
next several seasons.

was founded in 2012 in Kayseri. The company produces nonwoven
fabrics for the furniture, mattress, textile, and medical industries,
continually expanding its production capacity and product range
through ongoing investments.
As the first nonwoven fabric
manufacturer in Kayseri,
Baknoteks has reached a
monthly production capacity of
1,100 tons, offering fabrics ranging
from 10 to 150 grams per square
meter and widths between 2 and
330 centimeters. The company
provides this wide variety of
products in multiple colors and
applications to meet customer
needs.
Eyüp Baktır, Domestic and
International Trade Manager of

focus on innovation: “We have the
capacity to produce up to 1,100
tons per month. We use the latest
technology, and our R&D activities
continue. We are committed to
creating value-added products, and
to achieve this, we constantly invest
in new technologies.”
New SMS line enhancing
production capacity
In 2022, Baknoteks expanded its
existing SS production lines by
adding a new SMS line, significantly
increasing its production power and
product diversity.
“We commissioned our new SMS
line,” says Baktır.
“Our two existing
lines had a width of
2.40 meters. The
new line has a width
of 3.20 meters and
also allows us to
produce meltblown
fabrics. Investments
will continue to grow
each year.”
Thanks to this new

has expanded its

the mattress and
furniture sectors,
now serving medical
and technical textile
industries as well.

The company
achieved 60% growth
in both capacity and turnover during
2022. “Sixty percent of our sales

40% in exports,” Baktır explains.
“In 2023, we plan to focus more on

needs to be complemented with
additional materials.”
Highlighting the importance of
solidarity during challenging times,
Eyüp Baktır concludes with a

As one of the well-established brands in the zipper and textile
accessories industry, Feryal Group drew attention at IBIA Expo 2025
with its 33 years of experience, strong export network, and qualityoriented
production approach.
Operating in the zipper
industry for more than three
decades, Feryal Group has
become one of the trusted partners
of the mattress industry. For the
past 20 years, the company has
focused on producing long size
zippers specifically designed for
mattresses, while also manufacturing
complementary textile accessories
such as woven tapes, carrying
handles, elastics, and piping.
Previously serving the apparel
industry as well, Feryal Group now
dedicates 95% of its production to
mattress manufacturers.
Headquartered in Güngören,
Istanbul, the company manages its
administrative, financial, and export
operations from there. Its production
and weaving processes are carried
out at its 20,000 m² modern facility
in Kütahya, established five years

IBIA Expo 2025: Quality visitors
and strong business connections
Participating in IBIA Expo 2025, held
between 23–27 September 2025
at the Istanbul Expo Center, Feryal
Group showcased its latest zipper
and textile accessory solutions to
industry professionals.
Vural noted that Akın Bebek,
chairman of the board, is also one
of the founding members of IBIA,
adding:
“IBIA is not just a fair for us; it’s a key
meeting point where we strengthen
relationships with our partners and
build new connections. Face-toface
communication is always more
effective than digital.”
Feryal Group has been participating
in IBIA since its very first edition.
Vural stated that while visitor
numbers used to be higher in
previous years, recent editions have
proven to be more productive thanks
to fewer but more qualified visitors.
Industry insight and future
vision
Vural stated that although both the
global market and the Türkiye market
continue to grow, the rate of growth
has declined in recent years. He
noted that economic pressures have
led to a drop in demand for high-end
products, as consumers increasingly
turn to more affordable alternatives,
resulting in declining profitability for
companies.
However, Vural emphasized
that Feryal Group has never
compromised on its quality-oriented
production approach, saying:
“We believe that a sustainable
manufacturing mindset and
innovative solutions will drive our
company forward in the long term.”
The company plans to strengthen its
presence in European markets while
continuing to invest in efficiency
and innovation within its production
processes.

Metal Matris took its place once again
at IBIA Expo 2025, meeting with both
domestic and international customers
With its expertise in steel wire, bonnell springs, and pocket spring production
for the mattress and furniture industries, Metal Matris stood out as one of the
key exhibitors at this year’s IBIA Expo. The company continues to strengthen its
reputation as a reliable supplier and makes new investments every year in line
with its ambition to be among the leading players in the national market.
Founded in 2004, Metal Matris
operates through its production
facilities in Kayseri and İzmir.
The company exports to 65 countries
and maintains a strong domestic
presence. Through continuous
investment in technological innovation
and its commitment to sustainable
growth, Metal Matris aligns its
production capabilities with a global
market vision.
Participation in IBIA Expo 2025
and event evaluation
Onur Herdem, Domestic Sales &
Brand Marketing Chief at Metal
Matris, shared his evaluation of
the company’s fourth participation
with Sleep Tech: “We have been
attending the IBIA Expo regularly
since its first edition. We are already
a well-known brand in Türkiye,
so our primary goal here is to
strengthen our export connections.
Although the visitor numbers were
slightly lower compared to previous
editions, we still had the opportunity
to meet new companies from
international markets.”
Held from 23–27 September 2025
at the Istanbul Expo Center, IBIA
Expo 2025 proved productive in
terms of building new business
relationships. Herdem added,
“The fair allowed us to reconnect
with existing partners, meet new
manufacturers, and gain a clear
sense of the sector’s direction.”
Visitor profile and key
observations
The Metal Matris booth drew
strong interest particularly from
visitors from the Balkans (Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Albania), as well
as Iraq and Greece. Herdem noted
that the expected visitor traffic from
the United Kingdom was lower this
year, attributing this to scheduling
overlap with major international
events such as Interzum.
Recommendations for future
editions
Herdem stated, “Holding IBIA
every two years would be more
sustainable for participating
companies. It would allow
exhibitors to manage their
preparation periods more
effectively and would make the
fair even more attractive on an
international scale.”
He also highlighted the
organization’s overall quality: “The
fairground is compact and easily
accessible. Since the exhibitors are
genuinely key players in the sector,
they naturally become the focal
point for visitors. The organization
and venue offer an almost flawless
experience for participants.”
Onur Herdem, Domestic Sales & Brand
Marketing Chief at Metal Matris
Industry outlook and production
strategy
Herdem emphasized their ability
to adapt swiftly and effectively to
market dynamics: “The mattress
industry continues to grow at a
strong and steady pace every year.
The global market value currently
stands at around USD 30.81
billion, and this figure is expected
to nearly double by 2030. The
key is to analyze this growth
correctly and shape our objectives
in line with evolving consumer
preferences. Today, approximately
56% of consumers make their
purchases online. Accordingly,
manufacturers adjust their product
features, packaging methods, and
sales strategies to meet this shift.
At Metal Matris, we closely monitor
technological developments and
make new investments each year
to meet these emerging needs.”

“We have participated
in the IBIA Fair every
year since it first
began. This is our
fourth participation.
For us, the fair is not
just a sales point but a
platform for new collaborations and
new opportunities.”
Shaping the future with
innovative fabric technologies
At this year’s IBIA Fair, Aydın
Mattress Ticking introduced three
new products and technologies.
Leading the lineup was Coolgen,
a fabric that combines cooling
yarn with collagen technology.
Offering both a cooling effect and
skin-friendly properties, this nextgeneration
fabric is particularly
popular in warm climates,
providing a comfortable sleep
experience while also contributing
to sustainable production
practices.
Another innovation, Coolbalance,

demanded in the UK

stands out with both its
aesthetic and functional
qualities. “All of these
products are the result

A trusted name around the world
Aydın Mattress Ticking drew
significant attention at the fair,
not only for its product quality
but also for its sincere approach
to customer relations. Tut
emphasizes,
“We don’t see our customers
merely as business partners. We
build relationships with them like
family. Everyone who visits our
booth talks with us about the
market, the trends, and the sector.
For us, the most important thing is
mutual trust.”
Evaluating the current state of the
industry, Tut acknowledges that
global uncertainties and conflicts
affect purchasing power. However,
Aydın Mattress Ticking continues to
grow despite these challenges:
“Of course, there is a slowdown
worldwide. But because our name is
trusted, customers approach us with
confidence. We keep increasing our
orders and shipments.”
According to Tut, this success
comes not only from strong
production capacity but also from
the company’s belief in innovation
and quality. With its woven and
knitted collections, use of natural
yarns, and environmentally friendly
manufacturing, Aydın Mattress
Ticking serves as a model within
the textile sector.
A strong presence on the
international stage
Aydın Mattress Ticking has also
made its mark in international
exhibitions, participating
in Interzum (Germany)
and Heimtextil (Frankfurt)
earlier in 2025. The
company plans to
attend ISPA (USA) and
Formobile (Brazil) in
the coming period.
“We aim to carry the
Turkish flag at every
major international
organization,” says Tut
with pride.
The company has already
begun preparations
for 2026. Conducting
color, pattern, and trend
analyses in midyear,
Aydın Mattress Ticking
plans to enrich its
mocha-toned 2025
collection with new
textures, nature-inspired
tones, and refreshed
patterns for the upcoming
season.
“We always aim to go
beyond where we are,” says Tut.
“Our plans are ready before the
new year begins. We determine
which colors and textures will be
trending and shape our collections
accordingly. Customers today don’t
just buy fabric; they buy a story —
and we are here to tell that story.”
Stronger together, moving
confidently toward the future
In his message to the industry,
Muhittin Tut highlights the
importance of unity and resilience:
“We must stay strong and stand tall.
This is not only for Aydın Mattress
Ticking but for all of our companies.
We represent our country. The more
we grow as Türkiye, the higher our
name will rise.”
Tut’s words sum up the vision
of Aydın Mattress Ticking: while
investing in high technology,
innovation, and sustainability, the
company also works hand in hand
with the entire sector to elevate
the reputation of Turkish textiles
worldwide.
With its deep-rooted experience
and innovative spirit, Aydın
Mattress Ticking continues to
blend tradition with technology.
Every year, through its newly
developed products, participation
in major fairs, and expanding
international network, the company
not only strengthens Türkiye’s
textile power but also shapes
the future of the global mattress
industry.

Askom Tekstil: A success story built on
handcraftsmanship and vision
What began seven years ago in a small workshop with two machines
has grown into a powerful story of craftsmanship, innovation, and
resilience. Today, Askom Tekstil stands as a rising name in the mattress
industry, offering products that combine handmade quality with advanced
technology, serving both domestic and international markets.
Specializing in upholstery
materials for sofas, couches,
and mattresses, Askom
Tekstil’s guiding principle is to deliver
world-class solutions by integrating
the latest technologies with artisanal
production. With its expertise,
technological capacity, and skilled
team, the company continues its
steady journey toward sustainable
global growth.
Speaking at IBIA Expo 2025, held
between September 24–27 at
the Istanbul Expo Center, founder
Arzu Demir shared her insights
and experiences with Sleep Tech
readers. What started with two
machines in Istanbul has evolved
into a state-of-the-art production
facility in Sakarya-Akyazı-Kuzuluk,
combining efficiency, quality, and
passion. “Everything we achieved
came through determination and
hard work. This success is entirely
handcrafted,” says Demir, reflecting
the company’s ethos.
Empowering women, adding value
through handcrafted pompons
Among Askom Tekstil’s diverse
range — including tufting tapes,
elastic webbings, button caps, and
mattress ribbons — the handcrafted
wool pompons hold a special
place. Around 50 women produce
these pompons at home, turning
traditional handcraft into an element
of industrial design. Demir describes
them as “the finishing touch — the
signature detail that completes a
mattress.” These artistic details
enhance the aesthetic appeal by
up to 60%, creating a significant
competitive edge in global markets.
Strong international interest at
IBIA Expo
Askom Tekstil’s second participation
in IBIA Expo exceeded expectations.
“The fair went far better than last
year; we received remarkable
attention, particularly from the
Middle East and Europe,” says
Demir. Visitors from Iran, the
Balkans, Dubai, and Qatar showed
great interest in the company’s
tufting and handcrafted pompon
products, reinforcing Askom Tekstil’s
growing global presence.

Türkiye on the path to becoming a
global mattress hub
Commenting on the future of the
industry, Arzu Demir notes: “Many
furniture manufacturers are shifting
to mattress production, and even
suppliers are adapting to this
new direction. We can clearly see
this transformation in production
centers like Kayseri.” Demir believes
that Turkey is steadily becoming
the new global hub for mattress
manufacturing.
“When the Storm Comes, the
Tallest Trees Break — the Grass
Bends and Rises Again”
Despite global economic challenges,
Askom Tekstil continues to move
forward with confidence and
optimism. Demir concludes with
a philosophy that defines the
company’s spirit: “When a storm
comes, the tallest trees break, but
the grass bends and rises again.”
This quote encapsulates Askom
Tekstil’s journey — a story of
resilience, craftsmanship, and vision
shaping a bright future.

Galanthus makes a mark at IBIA Expo
2025 with Dolphin Pack representation
in the polyurethane sector
Representing Dolphin Pack in Türkiye, Galanthus drew significant
attention at IBIA Expo 2025 with the company’s innovative mattress
and sofa packaging machine designs.
Based in Kadıköy, Istanbul,
Galanthus operates as a
representative company
providing equipment and chemical
solutions for polyurethane
production technologies. General
Manager Zarif Bilgen emphasized
their mission to bridge leading
European brands with Turkish
manufacturers, stating: “Our goal
is to deliver the latest European
technologies to Turkish producers
and raise the bar in the foam
industry.”
The company currently represents
six Germany-based firms in
Türkiye, covering foam pouring
machines, cutting systems, tank
stations, polyurethane paints, and
mold release agents. Most recently,
Italian packaging and wrapping
machine manufacturer Dolphin Pack
has joined Galanthus’ portfolio.
First IBIA experience: aiming for
networking and know-how
Participating for the first time in
the IBIA Expo 2025, held at the
Istanbul Expo Center
on September 23–
27, 2025, Dolphin
Pack introduced
its packaging
and roll-form
designs to industry
professionals.
Bilgen shared
insights about the
event: “This was our
first time at IBIA,
and we had a short
preparation period.
Our promotional
efforts were
therefore limited,
but the exhibition
provided valuable
exposure and new professional
connections.”
He highlighted that their primary
goal at the fair was not direct
sales, but building networks and
strengthening relationships with
existing customers.
“Visitor traffic wasn’t as heavy
as expected, but we established
quality connections. IBIA was the
right place to start for us,” Bilgen
added.
Fairs and industry presence
Beyond IBIA, Galanthus also takes
part in the PUTECH EURASIA
fair. Bilgen said, “We’ll also be
present at PUTECH EURASIA
in November,” Bilgen noted.
“Moreover, the companies we
represent regularly participate in
major international events such as
INTERZUM, K-DUSSELDORF, and
UTECH.”
Industry outlook and 2026–2027
expectations
Commenting on the current state
of the foam and polyurethane
industry, Bilgen observed the effects
of global market slowdown but
expressed optimism about recovery:
“There is a production slowdown,
but we believe this is temporary.
The market is expected to regain
momentum starting from 2027.”
With its vision of connecting
Turkish manufacturers to worldclass
technologies, Galanthus
continues to deliver efficiency-,
energy-, and quality-focused
solutions through its represented
brands. Centered on quality,
technology, and collaboration,
Galanthus remains committed
to reinforcing its bridge between

Polya Yatak stood out at IBIA Expo
2025 with its export vision and strong
production capacity
As one of Europe’s leading mattress cover manufacturers, Polya Yatak
attracted attention at IBIA Expo 2025 with its innovative production
power and high export performance.
Founded in 1987 in Istanbul,
Polya Yatak completely shifted
from ready-made mattress
production to the manufacturing of
mattress, pillow, and quilt covers
in 2000. Since 2013, the company
has been operating in its 40,000
m² facility in the Kütahya Tavşanlı
Organized Industrial Zone, ranking
today among the top five producers
in Europe. Sales Representative
Ömer Serez said, “We produce with
high quality and strong capacity. Our
entire focus is on cover production.”
A role model for women’s
employment
With 70% of its 250–300 employees
being women, Polya Yatak
significantly contributes to regional
employment. Serez noted, “This
comes both from the region’s
workforce structure and from the
precision required in textile work —
women’s touch adds real value to
our quality standards.”
Fair insights: Strategy and
quality-focused participation
Having first participated in the IBIA
Fair in 2022, Polya Yatak took part
for the third time in 2025. Serez said,
“This fair is very valuable as it brings
together all industry stakeholders.
However, holding it every year limits
diversity and innovation. Organizing
it every two years would enhance
both quality and participation.”
At this year’s event, the company
aimed to reach new buyers,
particularly from North America
and Europe, while strengthening
collaborations within its supply
chain. “For us, the fair is not only
about finding new customers but
also about deepening our longterm
business partnerships,” Serez
added.
Visitor profile and
market evaluation
Serez stated that most visitors came
from Balkan countries (Albania,
Serbia, Bulgaria), South America,
and North Africa, while participation
from major European markets such
as Germany, Italy, and Poland was
relatively lower. He attributed this to
the global economic slowdown and
the fair’s annual frequency. “This isn’t
unique to Turkey — Interzum 2025
showed a similar pattern,” he said,
emphasizing that the contraction
in global textile markets is only
temporary.
A brand looking to the future
with confidence
Polya Yatak continues to strengthen
its global presence through major
international events such as Interzum
and Heimtextil. Serez concluded,
“2026 will be a year of recovery.
From 2028 onward, we expect a
more dynamic market. Holding IBIA
every two years would further boost
the industry’s momentum.”
With its focus on quality, sustainable
production, and women’s
employment, Polya Yatak once
again highlighted the strength and
innovative vision of Turkish textiles at
IBIA Expo 2025.

Yaskawa makes its debut at IBIA Expo
2025: The power of Japanese engineering in
robotics arrives in Türkiye
Founded in 1915 in Japan, Yaskawa—a global pioneer in robotics and motion
control systems—participated in IBIA Expo 2025 for the first time.
Kaya Kurt, Customer Manager
at Yaskawa Türkiye, shared
insights about the company’s
promotional activities during the fair
and his observations on the sector.
Yaskawa is known in the machinery
industry for its servo motors, AC
drives, and robotic solutions—
high-tech products that
enhance precision, speed,
and efficiency. Highlighting
their importance
particularly in mattress
production machinery,
Kurt said, “Our motion
control systems play a
major role in improving
machine performance
in the bedding industry.
That’s why IBIA has been
the perfect meeting point
for us.”
A new era in the
Türkiye market
Emphasizing that this
year marked Yaskawa’s
first participation in IBIA,
Kurt noted: “Here, we
presented our robots,
drive technologies,
and advanced control
systems, offering
innovative options to
machinery manufacturers.
By the third day, we had
already received highly
positive feedback from visitors.”
The company also attended the
Robot Investments Summit held
recently in Gebze, further boosting
its visibility in the Turkish market.
By maintaining an active presence
at similar fairs and industry events,
Yaskawa Türkiye aims both to
strengthen relationships with existing
clients and to develop new business
partnerships.
A vision for 2026 in the
machinery industry
Kurt emphasized that Türkiye’s
machinery sector is home to
innovative and globally competitive
companies:
“The key strength of these firms
lies in their ability to combine skilled
human resources with the right
technological solutions. At Yaskawa,
we contribute by providing reliable,
performance-proven products that
meet these needs.”
Pointing out Türkiye’s strategic
logistical and economic position,
Kurt added: “If we manage this
advantage wisely, I believe we can
surpass many countries by 2026.”
Perspectives on the fair’s future
The Yaskawa team stated
that the current timing
of the fair is suitable
but suggested that
organizing IBIA every
two years, in line with
international standards,
would give companies
more opportunities to
showcase their latest
innovations.
“Globally, fairs like this are
typically held biennially,
allowing brands to
prepare and present their
new technologies more
effectively. We believe the
industry associations will
reach a shared decision
on this matter,” Kurt said.
Bringing together
Japanese engineering
excellence with Türkiye’s
strong industrial
infrastructure, Yaskawa
showcased its innovative
technologies at IBIA Expo
2025, earning high praise
from both industry professionals
and manufacturers. With this first
step into the Türkiye market, the
company aims to accelerate its
regional growth and contribute
to technological progress in the
industry through new strategic
partnerships.

market goals
Continuing to export all its

bases, mechanisms, hinges, and
profile frames. Focusing solely on
metal production, Sinova defines
itself as a semi-finished product
manufacturer, serving major
international brands.

would provide greater value to the
industry and accelerate export
growth.”

launch new mechanism models,
strengthen collaborations with
leading mattress brands, and
further enhance its international
visibility.
With its innovative production

arena once again.
From 1986 to today, the name of
stability in production
The Kayseri-based company is
among Türkiye’s leading mattress
and upholstery material suppliers. Its
production range includes essential
parts such as shock absorbers,
pocket springs, bonnell springs,
mattress wicks, and elastic webbing,
as well as complementary products

Trade Manager Şeref Özdemir said,
“We produce our main products
ourselves, and we work with reliable
suppliers for other items.”
The star of the fair: Trustinspiring
production quality
Özdemir Malzemecilik participated
in IBIA Expo 2025 for the fourth
time this year. Şeref Özdemir
stated, “Before the fair, we made
one-on-one invitations and carried
out our social media promotions.
These preparations paid off; the
visitor profile to our stand was quite
qualified.”
Özdemir stated that the most
popular products at the fair were
pocket springs, gas spring and
mattress edge tape and said,
“This year, our mattress group
products especially stood out. In
the upholstery group, there was a
more niche but conscious customer
base.”
A brand opening to the world
Today, Özdemir Malzemecilik
xports to 76 countries and provides
logistical advantages with its
warehouses in Georgia and
the UK. Özdemir said, “Our
export rate is currently at
35–40%, and our goal is to
increase this to 50% in the
short term.”
It was also announced that a
special technical presentation
is planned in Kayseri after the
meetings held with the Brazilian
Mattress Association (ABICOL)
delegation within the scope of the
fair.
Continuing production

stop production despite the global
economic slowdown, saying, «The
sector is currently slower than
expected, but we never stopped.
We are constantly at fairs and in the
field.» He added that they expect a
recovery in the last quarter of 2026.
Changing market, new strategies
Özdemir emphasized that the
transition from spring systems to
foam-based models in mattress

Özay Group became the voice of the industry
at IBIA Expo 2025: “This fair must live on”
Özay Group stood out at IBIA Expo 2025 with its pioneering role
in mattress cover manufacturing, strong export performance, and
constructive industry messages. Company Chairman Lokman Özay
emphasized their long-term commitment to the event, saying, “This
fair is a major achievement for Türkiye. It must continue to thrive and
gain more international recognition.”
A
pioneering brand in
mattress cover production
Based in Bursa, Özay Group
is recognized as one of Türkiye’s
first and leading mattress cover
manufacturers. The company
exports 98% of its production to
markets including the European
Union, the United Kingdom, the
United States, and the Middle East.
“Our focus is entirely on exports,”
Özay noted. “We may not be very
active in the domestic market,
but our mission is to carry Turkish
quality to the world.” Combining
durability, elegance, and sustainable
manufacturing, Özay Group has
earned a solid reputation among
global clients.
IBIA Expo 2025 evaluation and
industry atmosphere
Held from September 23–27, 2025,
at the Istanbul Expo Center, this
year’s IBIA Expo was slightly calmer
than previous editions but still highly
valuable in terms of visitor quality.
Özay explained, “The overall visitor
count was a bit lower this year, but
those who came were focused and
professional. Events like this are
vital for tracking industry trends and
building new business connections.”
Economic conditions and
industrial resilience
Özay highlighted that Turkish
manufacturers continue to
operate steadily despite
challenging economic conditions.
“Manufacturing requires discipline.
Rising interest rates and input
costs put pressure on producers,
but Turkish industry keeps moving
forward under all circumstances,” he
said. He added that exchange rate
fluctuations have influenced exports
but can be managed through
sustainable economic strategies.
Support for manufacturers and
production-focused growth
Özay underscored the importance of
ensuring that government incentives
are directed toward real producers:
“Manufacturers are the backbone of
this country. If incentives focus on
production, employment, and added
value, the Turkish industry will grow
much faster,” he stated.
He also particularly highlighted
that incentives and loans should
be granted to those who genuinely
need them:
“Unfortunately, affordable loans are
currently being used not by those
in real need, but in areas driven
by rent-seeking interests. These
supports must instead be directed
toward businesses that produce,
create employment, and generate
added value — this is vital for the
national economy,” Özay added.
Future outlook and unity
message
Expressing optimism for the coming
year, Özay said, “This is a temporary
period. By 2026, we expect to
see a revival in both domestic and
international markets, as long as
producers are supported.”
He concluded with a call for closer
engagement between policymakers
and industry: “Leaders should
visit the field and see production
firsthand. Türkiye’s strength
comes from manufacturing — not
speculation, but labor.”
Özay Group, with its exportoriented
production strategy, strong
position in European markets, and
commitment to sustainable growth,
reaffirmed its place among the most
notable participants of IBIA Expo
2025, once again showcasing the
power of Turkish industry on a global
stage.

D-Label showcased quality and
ınnovation in mattress labeling at
IBIA Expo 2025
D-Label strengthens mattress brands’ market presence with highquality
labeling and design solutions.
Kayseri-based D-Label is a
long-established manufacturer
producing mattress labels,
pillow boxes, mattress and pillow
bags, and other complementary
textile accessories. Founded in
1985, the company has extensive
experience in printing and graphic
design and has, in recent years,
successfully expanded its mattress
label production into international
markets.
Company executive Bilal Karakuş
told Sleep Tech, “A mattress gains
its identity through its label before
it ever reaches the user. We make
that identity visible,” summarizing the
brand’s role in the industry.
Consistency and export goals at
the IBIA Expo
A regular participant since the
Sleepwell era, D-Label once again
took its place at the IBIA Expo,
presenting its new designs. Karakuş
emphasized the importance of
the event for both strengthening
relationships with existing clients
and establishing new international
connections. “Visitors come from
both Türkiye and
abroad. We’re using
this platform to expand
our search for new
markets,” he said.
Beyond its role as a
manufacturer, D-Label
stands out for its ability
to provide powerful
visual identity solutions
to brands. The
company’s durable and
aesthetically refined
labels enrich mattress
displays in showrooms
and enhance perceived
product value. Karakuş
also noted that by
combining digital printing with
modern graphic applications, they
help brands create distinctive design
languages. This approach allows
D-Label to offer not just products
but complete corporate identity
support.
Economic challenges and new
market focus
Commenting on Türkiye’s current
economic slowdown, Karakuş
stated, “The domestic
market is expected to remain
tight for some time, so
expanding into new export
markets is essential.” In
this regard, the company is
actively participating in major
international events such as
Dubai Sleep Expo, ISPA in the
USA, and Sleep Expo in the
Netherlands.
With nearly four decades of
experience, D-Label produces
not only products but also
brand value. The company’s
DTM (Direct To Mattress) printing
system marks a new era in label
design, enabling labels to be
applied directly to the mattress.
This innovation reduces production
time and costs while giving the
product a premium appearance —
a significant competitive advantage
for manufacturers.
Suggestions for fair organization
Karakuş also suggested that fairs
should be organized every two
years instead of annually, noting,
“This would be more sustainable for
companies. Avoiding date overlaps
with Dubai and European fairs
would also increase participation.”
Becoming one of the most
influential yet often unseen forces
in the mattress industry, D-Label
continues to combine quality,
innovation, and design to enhance
brand competitiveness both in
Türkiye and worldwide.

Hybrid foam technologies
minimize pressure points in
mattresses
The combination of memory foam and high-density foam
enhances sleep comfort.
In recent years, foam
technology has undergone
a significant evolution in
the mattress industry, offering
more advanced solutions for
improving sleep quality and
addressing individual comfort
needs. Among these innovations,
hybrid foam constructions—
combining temperature-sensitive
memory foam with a supportive
high-density foam base—have
emerged as a key player.
These systems are engineered
to minimize pressure points,
improve spinal alignment, and
provide long-lasting durability,
meeting the expectations of even
the most demanding sleepers.
Personalized comfort through
advanced layering
The foundation of hybrid foam
mattresses lies in their ability
to adapt to the body’s natural
contours while maintaining
consistent support. Memory
foam, known for its viscoelastic
properties, softens in response to
body heat and pressure, molding
precisely to the sleeper’s shape.
This contouring effect distributes
body weight evenly, reducing
stress on sensitive areas like
shoulders, hips, and lower back.
Beneath the memory foam layer,
high-density polyurethane foam
serves as a stable and durable
base. This combination ensures
that while the top layer offers
plush comfort and adaptability,
the underlying structure
maintains firmness and prevents
sagging over time. The result is a
balance of softness and support
that many traditional foam or
innerspring mattresses cannot
match.
Temperature regulation for yearround
comfort
One of the criticisms of early
memory foam mattresses was
their tendency to retain heat,
leading to discomfort during
warmer months. Modern hybrid
foam technologies address
this issue through advanced
temperature regulation features.
Many manufacturers now
incorporate gel-infused memory
foams, open-cell structures, and
phase-change materials (PCMs)
that draw heat away from the
body and maintain a stable
sleeping temperature.
This innovation allows hybrid
foam mattresses to offer a

comfortable sleep environment
in all seasons, appealing to
consumers who value consistent
comfort regardless of climate.
Pressure relief and spinal
alignment
Reducing pressure points is not
just about comfort—it has a
direct impact on overall health
and well-being. By preventing
the concentration of weight on
specific areas, hybrid foams
can improve blood circulation,
reduce the risk of numbness, and
alleviate discomfort caused by
joint or muscle tension.
Equally important is spinal
alignment. The memory foam’s
contouring works in harmony
with the base layer to keep the
spine in a neutral position, which
is essential for preventing back
pain and promoting restorative
sleep. For side sleepers, the
foam’s ability to cushion the
shoulders and hips is particularly
beneficial, while back and
stomach sleepers benefit from
the base layer’s supportive
firmness.
Durability and sustainability in
foam production
Hybrid foam mattresses are
designed with longevity in mind.
High-density base foams are
resistant to sagging and maintain
their supportive qualities for
many years, often backed by
warranties of 10 years or more.
Additionally, advances in foam
chemistry have led to more ecofriendly
production processes.
Many manufacturers now use
plant-based polyols, water-based
adhesives, and low-VOC (volatile
organic compound) formulations,
reducing the environmental
impact without sacrificing
performance.
Some brands also prioritize
recyclability, ensuring that
components can be repurposed
at the end of the mattress’s
life cycle. This commitment to
sustainability is increasingly

especially among eco-conscious

Market trends and consumer
demand
The growing popularity of hybrid
foam mattresses is closely
linked to broader trends in the
bedding industry. Consumers
are placing greater emphasis on
personalized comfort, wellness,
and sustainable manufacturing
practices. Online mattress
brands, in particular, have
embraced hybrid foam designs
as they can be compressed,
rolled, and shipped directly to
customers without compromising
quality.
Industry analysts predict
continued growth in this
segment, driven by innovations in
foam formulation, customizable
firmness options, and integration
with smart sleep technologies.
Integration with other comfort
systems
Hybrid foam mattresses are
also being paired with other

sleep technologies to enhance
performance. For example,
some manufacturers combine
hybrid foam layers with pocket
spring systems to create hybrid–
hybrid designs, offering the
contouring benefits of foam with
the responsiveness of springs.
Others integrate zoned foam
constructions, where varying
firmness levels are distributed
across the mattress to target
specific body regions.
Adjustable bed bases further
complement hybrid foam
designs, allowing users to finetune
their sleeping position for
optimal comfort and support.
Redefining comfort for the future
As material science continues to
advance, the next generation of
hybrid foam mattresses will likely
feature even more specialized
layers, from antimicrobial
copper-infused foams to
nanotechnology-based cooling
fabrics. Manufacturers investing
in R&D today are positioning
themselves to lead the market
in both performance and
sustainability.
For consumers, the appeal is
clear: a mattress that adapts
to their body, provides lasting
support, regulates temperature,
and aligns with modern
environmental values.
Hybrid foam technologies
are more than just a trend—
they represent a shift in
how the bedding industry
approaches comfort, health,
and sustainability. By combining
the best attributes of memory
foam and high-density foam,
these mattresses deliver a sleep
experience that is both luxurious
and practical, setting a new
standard for the future of rest.

Marsteks showcased Turkish quality
and strong production power at
IBIA Expo 2025
Marsteks stood out at IBIA Expo 2025 with its extensive experience in
mattress fabric and upholstery textile production.
Operating under Yılmaz
Group, Marsteks has a
fully integrated production
structure, manufacturing mattress
and upholstery fabrics, springs, foam,
yarn, and side borders. The company
also stands out in the upholstery
market with its Belette brand.
Harun Savıran, International
Marketing Executive of Marsteks,
told Sleep Tech, “We’ve been
participating in IBIA since its first
edition. Although we haven’t
expanded our booth, we continue to
maintain a consistent presence and
we’re satisfied with the fair overall.”
Qualified visitors and strong
connections at IBIA Expo 2025
Participating in IBIA Expo 2025, held
from September 23–27, 2025 at
the Istanbul Expo Center, Marsteks
presented its latest mattress fabric
collections to industry professionals.
Savıran explained, “Most of our
visitors came from the Middle East,
the Balkans, and Western Europe.
Although the visitor numbers were
slightly lower than expected, those
who came were genuinely businessfocused.”
The company attracted significant
attention with its cooling fabric
collections, including the ‘Moonblack’
black cooling fabric, the ‘Hypnos’
series, and the ‘Frozen White’
collection. These lines have secured a
strong position in the new generation
of mattress fabrics that combine
comfort with aesthetic appeal.
Global competition and the strength of
Turkish quality
Savıran highlighted that despite
price pressure from Chinese
manufacturers, Turkish producers
remain committed to high quality. “In
China, lower labor costs can create
a price gap of up to 15–25 cents.
But we don’t just sell a product—we
provide service and trust. Turkish
quality, punctual production, and
reliable delivery are our strongest
assets,” he said.
Fair organization and
industry cooperation
suggestions
In addition to IBIA,
Marsteks regularly
participates in international
exhibitions such as
Heimtextil (Frankfurt),
IMM (Cologne), Interzum
(Germany), Hometex, ISPA
(USA), and the London
Fair (UK).
Savıran noted that
attendance was slightly
lower this year due to
overlapping dates with
Interzum and Intermob
at TÜYAP. “If IBIA were held next
to the Metal Expo area, it would
attract more visitors. People could
visit multiple fairs in one day,” he
suggested.
Industry outlook and future
expectations
Savıran stated that although the
global market is facing challenges,
Turkish textile manufacturers
continue to stand out with their
focus on quality. “It’s a tough
business, but the Turkish textile
industry is resilient. The key is
consistent production and fair
competition,” he emphasized.
With its commitment to quality,
reliability, and innovation, Marsteks
continues to strengthen its
position as one of Türkiye’s leading
representatives in the global
mattress fabric industry.
