The Turkish exports prosper and
hitting anew and promising record
The new codes
of radiance
As the season of sparkle reaches its peak,
our makeup bags are also getting a glamorous
refresh. From the iconic power of red
lipstick to the allure of glitter, from the modern
brilliance of metallic finishes to creative
new applications, this season’s beauty
journey celebrates makeup in its boldest,
most expressive form.
The Turkish exports rose 2.4% to $24
billion in October, marking a new
record for the month, Trade Minister
Ömer Bolat said.
Speaking at a news conference in
Istanbul to announce preliminary
foreign trade data, Bolat said the
country achieved its highest October
exports and set a new record with
exports reaching $270.2 billion over the
last 12 months.
“Thus, the $270 billion threshold has
been exceeded,” he said.
The Minister explained that October
export volume was the fourth-highest
monthly figure on record, adding that
three of the top four were achieved this
year.
“We had an increase in eight of the 10
months. There was a net surge of $8.4
billion in our exports, or 3.9% in the
first 10 months,” Bolat said.
Moreover, he pointed out that imports
also rose 6.6% year-over-year, reaching
$31.4 billion in October. Like this,
the trade deficit widened 24% to $7.4
billion for the month. The exportto-import
ratio was at 76.5%, he also
informed. At the same time, Bolat also
said that they estimated that “services
exports will reach $103.5 billion in
the January-October 2025 period, a $4
billion increase compared to the same
period of the previous year.”
“Thus, we expect our services exports
to increase by 5.4% to $121.2 billion
on an annualized basis in October,” he
added. Furthermore, he recalled that
the goods and services export target
of $390 billion, which was set at the
beginning of the year, was achieved
earlier in September.”In October, we
exceeded this target, reaching a total of
$391.4 billion on an annualized basis,”
he added. Page 8

Türkiye’s “critical technology” exports,
which cover medium- to high-tech product
manufacturing, reached $80.7 billion (TL
3.39 trillion) in the January-September
period, according to a report published.
Türkiye’s focus on policies that boost
investment, production, employment, and
exports in the manufacturing industry,
geared toward competitive production, has
been reflected in export figures, data from
the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat)
shows.
Accordingly, in the first nine months of
the year, the country exported $80.7 billion
worth of high-tech products, ranging from
aerospace and defense systems to motor
vehicles, medical products, computers, and
electrical equipment. Page 9

Exports to neighbors
given impetus
The Turkish exports to its seven neighboring countries rose 3.6
percent in the first ten months of the year, reaching $23 billion,
according to the Trade Ministry data. Overall Turkish exports climbed
3.9 percent to $224.6 billion during the January-October period
compared to the same period last year.
Chemical products, including cosmetics and manufactured goods
topped the list of exports to the seven neighbors, totaling $3.6
billion. Cereals, legumes, oily seeds and their products came second
at $2.6 billion, while steel exports reached $1.7 billion.
Türkiye exported $22.9 billion worth of goods to Azerbaijan, Bulgaria,
Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Greece during the ten-month
period, up from $22.1 billion in the same period of 2024.
Iraq remained Türkiye’s largest export market among neighboring
countries, absorbing approximately $8.3 billion in Turkish goods.
Bulgaria ranked second with $3.8 billion, followed by Greece with
$3 billion and Georgia with $2.1 billion.
Syria recorded the sharpest year-on-year export growth at approximately
52 percent, while exports to Greece increased 7.6
percent and those to Azerbaijan rose 7.4 percent during the January-October
period.
Ornamental plants and related products recorded the lowest
export figures at $32.5 million. The calculations include Türkiye’s
land neighbors Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and
Greece.
Despite the global imbalances and the regional turmoil, the Turkish
economy sustains its strong position on the path of sustainable
growth. As for Türkiye’s exporters, they wish to relentlessly
invest, manufacture and export.
Carrying out sizeable technology investments in various industries,
Turkish companies managed to diversify their export markets.
Realizing a fascinating growth in the past decade, the business
people of Türkiye are now gearing up themselves to produce
the market trends by investing in brand development.
From the stand point of exporters, competition is a complex series
of moves and countermoves on a global landscape. Exporters
of Türkiye are no exception. They are particularly involved in
identifying, evaluating and selecting target markets by trying to
answer global questions.
We wish them success and lucrative trade.
THOUGHT OF THE MONTH
Economics is the only field in which two
people can get a Nobel Prize for saying
exactly the opposite thing.
There are two types of economists:
- those who cannot forecast interest rates, and
- those who do not know that they cannot forecast interest rates.
Heard at the Wharton School.
Man walking along a road in the countryside comes across a
shepherd and a huge flock of sheep. Tells the shepherd, “I will bet
you $100 against one of your sheep that I can tell you the exact
number in this flock.” The shepherd thinks it over; it’s a big flock so
he takes the bet. “973,” says the man. The shepherd is astonished,
because that is exactly right. Says “OK, I’m a man of my word, take
an animal.” Man picks one up and begins to walk away.
“Wait,” cries the shepherd, “Let me have a chance to get even.
Double or nothing that I can guess your exact occupation.” Man
says sure. “You are an economist for a government think tank,” says
the shepherd. “Amazing!” responds the man, “You are exactly right!
But tell me, how did you deduce that?”
“Well,” says the shepherd, “put down my dog and I will tell you.”
A mathematician, an accountant and an economist apply for the
same job.
The interviewer calls in the mathematician and asks “What do two
plus two equal?” The mathematician replies “Four.” The interviewer
asks “Four, exactly?” The mathematician looks at the interviewer
incredulously and says “Yes, four, exactly.”
Then the interviewer calls in the accountant and asks the same
question “What do two plus two equal?” The accountant says “On
average, four - give or take ten percent, but on average, four.”
Then the interviewer calls in the economist and poses the same
question “What do two plus two equal?” The economist gets up,
locks the door, closes the shade, sits down next to the interviewer
and says “What do you want it to equal?”

The new codes of radiance
Continued From Page 1
Whether matte or glossy, red has always reigned
supreme. More than just a color, it’s a statement: of
power, attraction, and fearless self-expression.
During the light-filled nights of December, red lipstick
finds new ways to shine, from classic to contemporary
interpretations. Satin finishes deliver
sophisticated elegance, while liquid matte formulas
create a sharper, more dramatic look. Vibrant reds
with orange undertones boost energy, while deep
burgundy shades leave a mark of refined style.
And often, red needs no companion. A subtle eyeliner
and a touch of natural blush are all it takes to
make bold lips the center of attention.
Let your eyes sparkle
Shimmer isn’t just for accessories, glittering eyeshadows
bring the most intense reflections of light to
your look.
And this season, glitter isn’t onesize-fits-all. From
chunky sparkles to delicate dusts, there’s a style for
every mood.
Gold, silver, and bronze glitters remain the go-to
classics, but for those seeking something bold, colored
glitter takes the stage: emerald green, sapphire
blue, or violet transform your eye makeup into a statement
accessory on their own.
The trick to perfect glitter eyeshadow is simple:
press it onto the lids with your fingertips. This technique
intensifies the pigment and locks in the sparkle,
making your eyes twinkle like a disco ball under
the night lights.
A modern touch with metallics
Beyond classic shimmer, metallic finishes are making
a bold entrance this year. As soft as satin yet
as reflective as chrome, they bring a futuristic edge
to every part of your beauty look, from lips to nails.
Metallic liquid shadows add a space-age vibe to the
eyes, while metallic lipsticks create a striking contrast
on the lips. The trend extends to nail collections
too: silver chrome tips, golden accents, and holographic
effects add dramatic flair with minimal effort.
Used alone, metallics deliver a subtle yet impactful
finish. Combined with bold red lips, they create a
powerful, theatrical statement.
Makeup stories that celebrate the season
This season, makeup knows no boundaries. Some
choose to focus on one standout feature, bold red
lips or dazzling glitter eyes. Others embrace the full
spectrum of shine all at once. The key words are
courage, creativity, and light.
Minimal glow: Soft glitter touches paired with nude
lips offer effortless elegance from day to night.
Dramatic impact: Intense glitter shadow, eyeliner,
and deep burgundy lips create a bold, stage-ready
look.
Metallic harmony: Matching metallic eyeshadow,
lipstick, and nail polish in a single tone delivers a
monochrome yet striking effect.
Makeup isn’t just about appearance, it’s a mood.
Sparkling eyes, statement lips, and chrome-like textures
aren’t only aesthetic choices, they’re expressions
of celebration.
True radiance shines brightest when paired with
courage. So don’t be afraid to swipe on that red lipstick,
press glitter onto your eyelids, or embrace a
futuristic metallic finish. Because makeup isn’t just
about enhancing beauty, it’s one of the most joyful
ways to express who you are.

A sensory journey that lingers on the skin
Continued From Page 1
Notes like cinnamon, clove, cardamom, and
black pepper feel like an invitation to winter
itself. The warm waves rising from the bottle
create a dance of fire and ice on the skin.
The magic of spicy perfumes lies in their versatility,
they can be both masculine and feminine.
In one fragrance, the sweetness of cinnamon
may take the spotlight, while in another,
the sharpness of black pepper dominates the
composition. This duality makes spices an essential
fragrance family for the season.
Wearing a spice-infused perfume to an evening
gathering can instantly transform the atmosphere,
wrapping you in an invisible aura
of warmth and allure.
Woody depths: Carrying nature’s power on
your skin
In cold weather, woody scents feel like a refuge.
Sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, and vetiver
deliver both calm and strength. They evoke
the feeling of stepping into a forest, refreshing
yet deeply grounding.
Woody perfumes are known for their sophistication,
charisma, and impressive longevity.
They evolve on the skin throughout the day,
revealing one character in the coolness of
morning and another under the soft glow of
evening lights.
For those living in the city, these scents become
a connection to nature, carrying the depth
of the earth onto the skin and making them
an iconic choice for December.
Vanilla and amber: A sweet embrace, a mysterious
glow
If December could be bottled into a fragrance,
it would surely be a blend of vanilla and amber.
Vanilla evokes a sweet, familiar comfort
reminiscent of childhood memories, while
amber wraps that warmth in a mysterious,
golden light.
Modern vanilla is no longer just about sugary
sweetness, it offers creamy, powdery, and
sophisticated elegance. Amber, on the other
hand, gives the perfume depth and a glowing,
golden aura. Together, they linger on the skin
for hours, completing the most memorable
winter nights. Perfumes built around vanilla
and amber are both romantic and bold, the
perfect choice for the season.
Florals with a winter twist: Velvety elegance
Although floral perfumes are often associated
with spring and summer, they take on a different
character in December. Roses become
deeper, jasmine turns velvety, and orchids reveal
a more enigmatic side.
In colder weather, the lightness of florals gives
way to richness and intensity. Deep rose
essences paired with musk or leather create
striking contrasts, while jasmine blended with
amber achieves a mesmerizing balance.
These winter florals reveal the romantic yet
sophisticated facet of the season.
Anew brings skincare and makeup together!
Iconic bottles: The art of fragrance design
December is also a time when iconic perfume
bottles are rediscovered. Gold accents, dark
glass, and sculptural designs remind us that
fragrance is not just a scent, it’s an object of
desire and artistry.
For collectors, this is the perfect season to
make space on the shelf, as many brands release
their most special creations in limited-edition
bottles. A perfume bottle becomes a
piece of art, reflecting both the soul of the
fragrance and the splendor of the season.
Memories captured in scent
A perfume is more than just something that
smells good, it’s a way to seal a memory. December’s
iconic fragrances do exactly that.
The warmth of spice, the depth of wood, the
sweetness of vanilla, and the mystery of amber
leave their mark not only on your skin but
also in your memory.
At a party, on a date, or just for yourself, the
right scent can make a moment unforgettable.
Because sometimes, fragrance says far more
than words ever could.

Türkiye’s
economic
confidence at
7-month high in
October
Türkiye’s economic confidence improved
by 0.3 percentage points
monthly to hit 98.2 in October,
marking the highest value seen since
March, according to official data released.
Looking at sub-indices, three of them
posted declines, while two increased
in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute
(TurkStat) said.
The retail trade confidence index increased
3.7% on a monthly basis, and
the real sector confidence index rose
1.2% in October.
On the other hand, the construction
confidence index decreased 5.3% in
October, and the services confidence
and consumer confidence indexes
both fell 0.3%.
The economic confidence index, a
key indicator of the overall economic
situation, hovers between 0 and 200.
A reading above 100 indicates optimism
about the overall economic
outlook, while a value below 100 reflects
a more pessimistic assessment.
The Turkish exports prosper and
hitting a new and promising record

Continuing his speech, he pointed to the
rise in exports in different months earlier
throughout the year, adding: “In the
January-October period of 2025, exports
were recorded as $224.6 billion, marking
an increase of 3.9% compared to the same
period a year ago.”
“We lifted our goods exports in 22 of the
last 30 months. Furthermore, I would like
to say with great pleasure that, starting this
October, we broke monthly goods export
records in 17 of the last 30 months,” he also
said.
In addition, analyzing import data, he
attributed the rise to net gold imports.
“The impact of net gold imports on this
deficit stands out with $2.7 billion,” the
minister said.
“In the January-October period, the foreign
trade gap increased by 12.9% compared
to the same period of the previous year,
reaching $74.4 billion,” he added.
“Like this, the goods trade deficit surged by

Launched to strengthen Türkiye’s e-export
ecosystem, the “United in E-Export
Program” was conducted through meetings
held in six provinces with the participation
of eight exporters’ associations under the
coordination of the Ministry of Trade, the
Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM), and
Trendyol. Within the scope of the program,
over two thousand exporting companies
were thoroughly informed about e-export
incentives, application procedures, and
strategies for entering global markets.
The “United in E-Export Program” was
implemented with the objectives of
enhancing companies’ export capacities,
facilitating access to accurate and upto-date
information regarding support
applications, and providing them with the
strategic roadmap needed to expand into
international markets. During the events,
Ministry of Trade officials elaborated
on e-export incentives in detail, while
Trendyol representatives shared insights
into their e-export strategies, marketplace
advantages, and operational capabilities.
$8.5 billion in the first 10 months. Thus, the
annualized foreign trade deficit increased
by $12.8 billion compared to the same
month last year, reaching $90.7 billion,” he
concluded.
The written data shared by the Trade
Ministry revealed that Germany stood out
when considering exports, with $2 billion.
Following Germany were the U.S. and the
U.K., each obtaining goods worth some
$1.4 billion from Türkiye.
Meanwhile, Türkiye is regaining its position
as a regional center for foreign direct
investment (FDI), Treasury and Finance
Minister Mehmet Şimşek has stated.
Speaking at the TRT World Forum 2025 in
Istanbul, Şimşek highlighted the country’s
economic transformation over the past two
decades.
He noted that foreign direct investment
has increased nearly twentyfold in the last
20–25 years.
“We aim to return to investment-grade
levels with upcoming credit rating
“We are working to strengthen Türkiye in
the field of e-export as well”
TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe expressed
the contribution of the “United in E-Export
Program” to exporters as follows:
“Of the global e-commerce volume, which
has reached 7 trillion dollars, approximately
1.5 trillion dollars derive from e-export.
Today, nearly 25 percent of total
e-commerce is conducted across borders.
With Türkiye’s strong infrastructure
spanning from design to production
and from manufacturing to sales, we are
working in coordination with our Ministry
of Trade, TİM, and representatives from
the private sector to raise awareness among
our members, develop new business
models, and facilitate market entry,
thereby strengthening Türkiye’s position
in e-export. In this context, we regard our
Ministry’s target of increasing the share of
e-export within total exports to 10 percent
by 2030 as a significant milestone. Together
with TİM and Trendyol, we have launched
the ‘E-Export Partnership Program.’
Within this framework, we have completed
upgrades,” he added.
Şimşek emphasized the country’s strong
performance compared to other emerging
markets. “Over the past 20 years, Türkiye’s
average real growth has been 5.4 percent…
When excluding China and India, Türkiye’s
growth performance stands out clearly,” he
said.
Addressing the government’s current
disinflation program, Şimşek explained,
“Our goal is to ensure price stability,
strengthen fiscal discipline, and reduce the
current account deficit.”
“We’ve made serious progress in this area.
Structural transformation is a key element
for sustainability. We are in the second
phase of the program, and the progress is
notable. Our target is to bring inflation back
to single digits,” he added.
Şimşek also commented on global
economic trends, saying protectionism
now appears to be a lasting tendency.
“Türkiye is relatively less vulnerable in this
environment,” he said.
the ‘United in E-Export Program’ across
eight exporters’ associations with the
participation of more than two thousand
members. To enhance export awareness
and enable more of our firms to expand
into cross-border markets, we will continue
organizing events in the upcoming period
with the inclusion of other stakeholders
within the export community.”
“Our companies can benefit from incentives
of up to 70 percent”
Providing details on the incentives offered
to companies seeking to grow in the field
of e-export, Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Director
General of Exports at the Ministry of Trade,
stated: “We are taking significant steps
to support our SMEs and industrialists in
entering digital markets within the rapidly
developing global e-export landscape.
Through our E-Easy Export Platform,
known as E-KİP, we offer our companies
an extensive source of information—from
market analyses and customer behavior to
competitive data and sales channel options—
concerning the markets they intend to enter.
Furthermore, our companies can receive
He attributed this resilience to Türkiye’s
trade structure: “Sixty-two percent of our
exports go to countries with which we
have free trade agreements. More than 80
percent are directed to our nearby regions
— Central Asia, the Middle East, and North
Africa — friendly and neighboring areas.
This partially shields us.”
Another advantage, according to Şimşek, is
Türkiye’s strong service exports. “The share
of our service exports is robust compared
to international averages. Service trade has
not yet been affected by protectionism. We
can turn this picture into an opportunity.”
“United in E-Export Program” is to become a regional power in E-Export
up to 70 percent support for commission,
advertising, and storage expenses related to
e-exports conducted via their own websites,
marketplaces, or consortia. We continue
our efforts with full momentum in line with
our goal of increasing the e-export ratio.”
“The goal is to make Türkiye a regional
power in e-export”
Emphasizing their aim to expand Türkiye’s
presence in global e-commerce, Trendyol
Group Vice Chairman Sinan Cem Şahin
stated: “At Trendyol, we continue our efforts
to bring Türkiye’s production strength and
entrepreneurial potential to the global
stage. We place our technology, logistics
capabilities, and marketing power at the
service of Turkish producers, delivering
their products to millions of customers
worldwide. We are moving forward with
firm steps on our journey to make Türkiye
a regional power in e-export. We sincerely
believe that this collaboration will enable
thousands of our producers to achieve
sustainable success in global markets.”

MoU to boost bilateral investment
The Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency
of the Republic of Türkiye (IFOTP) signed a memorandum
of understanding (MoU) with the Qatar Financial
Centre (QFC) to expand bilateral investment opportunities
and strengthen financial sector collaboration between
the two countries. According to a statement from
the QFC, the agreement aims to promote investment,
facilitate market access for businesses, and enhance
cross-border cooperation. Both parties will jointly organize
business conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and
high-level visits while exchanging publicly available
economic and investment data to raise awareness of the
potential in both markets.
The deal is expected to pave the way for stronger trade
and investment flows between Türkiye and Qatar in the

Bolat noted that he met with Egypt’s Minister
of Investment and Foreign Trade
Hassan el-Hatip, saying the meeting discussed
the current state of bilateral trade
relations, contracting services, and ways
to strengthen cooperation—particularly
in Africa.
Bolat said they emphasized their mutual
intention to convene the “Türkiye–Egypt
Free Trade Agreement Joint Committee
Meeting” and the “High-Level Trade
Consultation Mechanism” in the coming
period.
“As Türkiye, we are moving with strong
determination toward our goal of increasing
our trade volume with Egypt to
$15 billion within five years,” he added.
For his part, el-Khatib praised the confidence
of Turkish companies in the Egyptian
economy, affirming the Egyptian
coming years.
The cooperation framework includes support for greenfield
and brownfield investment projects, mergers and
acquisitions, and joint ventures that could benefit both
economies. The two institutions also agreed to exchange
institutional policies and best practices to produce an
environment favorable to international investment and
business expansion. Under the agreement, the QFC will
provide licensing guidance and regulatory assistance
to companies referred by IFOTP that are interested in
exploring or expanding operations in Qatar, provided
their activities align with the QFC’s legal framework.
IFOTP Chairman Ahmet Burak Daglioglu described
the MoU as a “milestone” in the growing Türkiye-Qatar
economic partnership. He noted that Qatari foreign
government’s commitment to removing
all obstacles and providing support for
projects that boost exports, produce jobs,
and facilitate technology transfer.
It is worth noting that trade between the
two countries reached around $4 billion
in the first half of 2025, including approximately
$2 billion in Egyptian exports.
Bolat also said he met with Saad Al-Kasabi,
Governor of the Saudi Standards,
Metrology and Quality Organization
(SASO), and Mohammed bin Abdulaziz
Al-Abduljabbar, head of the General Authority
for Foreign Trade.
He noted that they discussed expectations
for strengthening cooperation in

“We support the active participation of
Turkish companies in large-scale projects
in Saudi Arabia and attach great importance
to increasing mutual investments,”
Bolat said.
“We addressed our goal of increasing the

direct investment (FDI) in Türkiye has totaled $3.5 billion
since 2002, bringing total FDI stock to $7 billion
by the end of 2024. Daglioglu said the agreement will
“unlock new opportunities for investment” and further
strengthen both countries’ financial sectors.
He added that the initiative reflects a shared vision of
positioning Türkiye and Qatar as “leading investment
hubs” connecting regional and global markets.
The QFC emphasized that the agreement underlines
both countries’ commitment to sustainable economic
growth and cross-border collaboration.

The strategic
importance of
synergy
In a period where the waves of the
global economy are growing harsher,
brands are facing not only the challenges
arising from their own internal
operations, but also multilayered risks
such as supply chain disruptions and
financial market fluctuations. In such
an environment, the key to maintaining
competitiveness and ensuring
sustainable growth is undoubtedly
embracing synergy and cultivating a
culture of collaboration that brings it
to life.
Synergy, created through the combination
of knowledge and resources
from different stakeholders, provides
organizations with value they could
not generate on their own, while also
building greater resilience against crises.
This is precisely why interdepartmental
coordination becomes vital
during critical periods.
As we bid farewell to 2025, I wish
for 2026 to bring all of us stronger,
more harmonious and more productive
collaborations.

skin’s collagen production — which naturally
decreases by about 1% each year — and
to preserve elasticity, this special range promises
a powerful investment in the skin through
advanced micro-peptide technology.
Launched at an exclusive event held at Salt
Galata, Neutrogena Collagen Bank brought
the world of beauty and “banking” together
in a creative concept. Guests received personalized
Collagen Bank cards and had the
chance to measure their “skin index,” discovering
their collagen levels. The highlight of
the night was a humorous “collagen heist”
performance — where the brand playfully
reminded everyone that “there’s enough collagen
for everyone,” reflecting its inclusive
and generous philosophy.
The Most Valuable Investment for Your
Skin
Neutrogena Senior Brand Manager Selda
Öztürk shared insights into the brand’s “beauty
powered by science” vision:
“Scientific research shows that from our 20s
onward, our skin loses about 1% of its collagen
each year. Collagen is the key protein
responsible for keeping the skin firm, elastic,
and youthful. However, UV exposure, stress,
and environmental factors accelerate this
natural process. That’s where the Collagen
Bank range comes in. With its patented micro-peptide
technology, it helps protect existing
collagen and rebuild what’s been lost.
We call this line an ‘investment tool for your
skin,’ and we invite everyone to join this beauty
bank.”

A New Era of Skin Science
The Neutrogena Collagen Bank series is not
just skincare — it’s a strategy for skin investment.
With every use, micro-peptides enrich your
skin’s “collagen account,” supporting the
rebuilding of collagen fibers for a firmer,
plumper, and more resilient complexion.
The launch event, where science met playfulness,
once again demonstrated Neutrogena’s
success in making innovation both accessible
and engaging. For those who believe in
building the future of beauty today, Neutrogena
Collagen Bank says: *“Invest in your
skin — you’re the real winner.”*
