Sometimes I dream so vividly that even the clouds are

amazed. But today was different: When I woke up, there

was a picture under my pillow. It showed a shimmering

Lipizzaner horse with glittering fur and eyes like little

moons. As soon as I touched it, threads of light danced

through my room and a gate of colors opened in our

garden.

I knew: “My adventure begins.”

4

FLUFFI AND THE SPARKLE FOREST

Behind the gate waited a forest that glittered in all

colors. The flowers sang and the trees swayed to the

rhythm. There I met Fluffi, a Lipizzaner with

shimmering grey fur who danced in the light. “You are

the chosen one,” he whispered.

The Sparkle Festival is in danger of being cancelled.

The shine of the Lipizzaners is at risk.

6

7

I jumped onto Fluffi’s back – we had to do something.

THE MISSING LIPIZZANERS

Fluffi led me to a silver circle of hoofprints. “They’re

gone! – All the Lipizzaners have disappeared!”

8

9

I felt that something was wrong:

The connection to the Mikizzan homeland was

interrupted.

10

11

WHAT MUST BE DONE

Without the magical images and colors of the artists,

the Lipizzaners lose their enchantment.

…and without the Lipizzaners, the Mikizzaners can

no longer dream, paint, or live.

I knew, I could not give up.

12

13

THE HILLS OF COLOR

We rode across rainbow streams

to the hills of color.

That’s where our friends lived and painted.

14

15

THE MIKZZANERS

They painted with brushes made of music and ceramics,

scented like childhood and green gardens.

I met them all—Christine, Maria, Waltraut, Heidi,

Heidrun, Gerald, Evelyn, MaLo, Martina... and the

radiant ARTHENA MAXX.

16

17

ARTHENA MAXX

Arthena’s hands seemed to be made of light.

“We need your imagination, Elenaf,” said Arthena.

“Only you can restore the connection

between the Lipizzaners and the Mikizzan artists.”

18

19

DIMMORO AND THE WHIRLING MOOR

Meanwhile, far away from Mikizzan Land,

a shadow crept through the hills.

Dimmoro, the dark collector of forgotten dreams.

20

21

With a musical brush that sang with every stroke, and

with Elena’s friend Florian, a boy from the Milk Zone

homeland, we rode into the Whirling Moor.

There, everything was gray and silent.

Only sometimes did we still hear our colors whispering

faintly.

22

23

THE MIRROR FOREST

Beneath an old root tree in the Whirling Moor,

the portal to the Mirror Forest opened.

24

25

Here stood the Lipizzaners – as if frozen in mirrors.

We painted with light, danced with brushes,

and tossed colors into the air.

Every style was welcome – from splashes to golden spirals.

EVERYTHING WAS ARTISTICALLY POSSIBLE.

26

27

And then ARTHENA MAXX appeared

THE BÄRN-ART FRIEZE

28

29

She opened the BÄRN-ART FRIEZE,

The world’s largest artwork created by women’s hands,

and it began to shine.

30

31

THE NEW SHIMMER IMAGE

With luminous colors, musical tones, and a touch of

courage, Florian and I created the

“GREAT SHIMMER IMAGE.”

Dimmoro tried to devour it – but our colors sang a

peaceful melody, and the shadow softened. Eventually,

Dimmoro was absorbed into the

BÄRN-ART FRIEZE, where he will sleep forever.

32

33

THE GLITTER FESTIVAL OF THE STARS

Now the Lipizzaners danced again! The Glitter Festival

began, and the sky filled with circles of light.

The Mikizzaners painted, laughed, sang – and we all felt:

Art and magic can change the world.

And every time I dream… I hear a Lipizzaner galloping

through my colors somewhere.

The nickname Mikizzaner has since evolved into an international artist

platform, embraced by many creatives. This imaginative environment

inspired Ellena to write a fantastical story about Mikizzania at the age

of twelve.

Her tale not only reflects her rich imagination but also encourages

others—young and old alike—to follow their own dreams.

Ellena proudly calls herself a “Dare-to-Dream Mikizzaner” and

hopes to inspire everyone to become one too. With her courage and

creativity, she sets a radiant example, showing that dreams can be

realized with passion and dedication.

A truly inspiring and promising young talent!

As the illustrator of the children’s book “The star pattern beneath my

pillow”, part of the Mikizzaner children’s book series, she combines a finely

tuned visual language with narrative depth. Her illustrations are not merely

accompanying images but poetic spaces that take children’s imagination

seriously while also raising philosophical questions about identity,

community, and the inner world.

Falk-Koller is a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists

of Austria and serves as the representative of the Mikizzaner art platform

for the state of Carinthia. She regularly exhibits her work nationally and

internationally — including in Austria, Germany, Croatia, and China.

In her artistic practice, she weaves together pedagogical experience,

philosophical reflection, and visual poetry — a rare synthesis that is clearly

felt in her children’s book illustrations as well.
