While our modern world is a miracle of 

engineering, it hasn’t been such a miracle 

for our planet. Today’s farming practices 

produce contaminated, modified crops and 

products that would be unrecognizable to our

HOW TO USE YOUNG LIVING® ESSENTIAL OILS: 

Three main methods 

Aromatically 

All Young Living essential oils feature a signature aroma you can smell for a wide 

variety of benefits. One oil’s crisp scent can be invigorating, while another’s 

soothing aroma can help you unwind after a long day. Here are some ways to 

experience the aromatic benefits of a Young Living essential oil: 

• Inhale directly. 

• Use a diffuser. 

• Mix with your DIY cleaners. 

Topically 

Applying essential oils topically allows your skin to absorb the benefits. Visit 

our website product pages for suggested uses to explore or start with these tips: 

• Apply on your feet, wrist, chest, or neck. 

• Add to your moisturizer or other personal care products. 

• Use in a massage. 

Safety tip: Follow each oil label’s dilution instructions; many oils need to be diluted with 

a neutral carrier oil like olive oil or coconut oil. Also, be aware that some oils, particularly 

citrus, can cause photosensitivity in the sun and are best applied at night. 

Internally 

There are some Young Living essential oils that are generally regarded as safe 

(GRAS) to take internally as a dietary supplement and/or in your recipes. If you 

think an oil smells terrific, wait until you taste it! Seasoning your favorite recipes 

with our specially labeled Vitality dietary essential oils lets you savor all their 

spicy, herbaceous, fruity potential. Here are three ways to take essential oils 

internally: 

• Add to a glass of water. 

• Take in a vegetarian capsule. 

• Use a drop in place of herbs, zest, or juice. 

Safety tip: Be sure to start small—a little goes a long way! Always make sure the oil is 

specifically labeled for ingestion; otherwise, assume it’s safe for external use only.

YOUNG LIVING ® EINKORN: 

The ancient grain 

Einkorn, or Triticum monococcum, offers so much nutrition in every single 

kernel. This ancient grain, historically considered the staff of life, is one 

of the only grains today that hasn’t undergone genetic engineering or 

hybridization. It maintains the simplest genetic code of all the varieties of 

wheat with just one genome and 14 non-GMO chromosomes, exactly what 

the body understands and can digest. So, what happened? How did the 

grains of today become so different and—we’re beginning to learn—so toxic 

to the body? 

Gary Young had a sense of the dangers of today’s wheat as he watched 

the deterioration of the human body as people ate more and more bread 

and various flour products. He began his search for alternatives and found 

einkorn seeds in Jordan, only to later discover that einkorn was being 

grown on the Simiane-la-Rotonde Lavender Farm in France and used for 

animal feed. 

In the mid-1900s, biologist Dr. Norman Borlaug worked on a wheat crossbreeding 

project in Mexico, intending to increase production yield. His 

success was the beginning of the genetic engineering and hybridization of 

wheat and other grains, beginning the decline of human health through a 

food that the body could no longer recognize and digest. 

Gluten free is not the answer to this increased hybridization. For those 

without severe sensitivities, the body needs gluten in the right proportion. 

However, when modern grains are altered to produce what the body 

can’t digest, the gluten begins to overload the body and create all kinds 

of problems. 

This led Gary to begin growing einkorn for Young Living and create Einkorn 

Pancake and Waffle Mix, so we could enjoy that kind of food without the 

negative effects of the hybridized flours sold in the market today. As people 

began to catch on to what they were eating and how it was hurting them, 

the demand for einkorn grew. As a result, our line of einkorn products has 

grown as well. Once you discover how nutritious and tasty einkorn is and 

the different ways you can use it, you’ll fall for our einkorn creations. 

It's also important to know that our farms have never been sprayed with 

any chemicals, especially with glyphosate. There are over 750 glyphosatecontaining
