Heimtextil

pushed the button.

We continue with

Almaty...

We started the new year with Heimtextil Frankfurt,

the world’s largest and most influential meeting

point for the global home textile industry. It was a

truly inspiring experience to be part of this great

organization once again. As always, the fair was

dynamic, productive, and highly functional—bringing

together the right people, the right products, and the

right business opportunities under one roof.

The strong visitor traffic, valuable meetings, and the

overall energy of Heimtextil clearly proved that our

industry continues to move forward with confidence. It

was also encouraging to witness the increasing interest

in innovative collections, sustainable production, and

design-driven solutions—areas where Turkish home

textile exporters are already highly competitive and

continue to strengthen their global position.

With this issue, we are excited to be attending the

18th Homedeco International Home Textile & Design

Fair, which will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This important event has become a key platform

for connecting regional buyers with international

manufacturers and showcasing new trends in home

textile and interior design.

The Kazakhstan market, along with its surrounding

countries, offers great opportunities for home textile

exporters. The region’s growing demand for quality,

modern design, and reliable supply chains makes it an

attractive destination for Turkish manufacturers who

can deliver strong collections, fast service, and flexible

production capabilities. We believe that Homedeco will

once again generate a productive environment for new

partnerships, long-term business connections, and

expanding trade volumes in this promising geography.

In this issue, you will find industry updates, market

insights, and company news reflecting the latest

developments in the home textile world. As Home Textile

Exports, we will continue to follow global fairs closely,

support the international visibility of our exporters, and

share the most relevant information with our readers.

We wish you a successful season filled with strong orders,

productive collaborations, and new export markets.

TRENDS

Designing a bedroom

that supports mental balance

A calm, considered bedroom environment

helps quiet the mind,

ease sensory overload, and gently guide

the body into restorative sleep.

The bedroom is more than a functional space

for rest—it plays a quiet but powerful role in

emotional well-being and mental balance.

From the Sleep WELL perspective, a sleepfriendly

bedroom is a cornerstone of healthy,

restorative rest. Every design choice, from

color and texture to lighting and layout,

influences how easily the mind releases the

day and settles into sleep.

When a space feels cluttered or

overstimulating, mental tension can linger even

as the body grows tired. Sleep-friendly design

prioritizes visual simplicity and sensory calm,

transforming the bedroom into a grounding

environment that supports relaxation,

emotional renewal, and deeper rest.

Color, light, and atmosphere shape relaxation

Color choices strongly affect how the

nervous system responds to a space. Soft

neutrals, muted earth tones, and gentle

pastels are commonly associated with a

calming effect. These tones help reduce

TRENDS

visual stimulation and encourage the mind to

slow down. Bold contrasts and overly bright

colors, on the other hand, may increase

alertness and make it harder to unwind.

Lighting is equally important. Adjustable

lighting with warm tones in the evening

supports the body’s natural wind-down

process. Layered lighting options, such as

bedside lamps instead of strong overhead

lights, help create a softer nighttime

atmosphere that feels safe and soothing.

Layout and simplicity reduce mental noise

A sleep-friendly bedroom benefits from an

open and intentional layout. Clear pathways,

balanced furniture placement, and uncluttered

surfaces help reduce subconscious stress. When

the space feels organized and breathable, the

mind receives fewer signals to stay alert.

Minimalism does not mean emptiness; it means

choosing what truly supports rest. Removing

unnecessary objects and distractions allows

the bedroom to serve a clear purpose:

relaxation and sleep. This clarity reinforces a

sense of mental ease at the end of the day.

Textures and materials support comfort

Natural textures play a subtle but meaningful

role in sleep wellness. Soft fabrics, breathable

bedding, and materials such as wood or

cotton contribute to a sense of warmth and

comfort. These elements support physical

relaxation while also enhancing emotional

safety, which is essential for deep rest.

Many wellness-oriented designs favor natural

materials because they feel grounding and

familiar. This connection to natural elements

helps the body relax more easily, supporting a

smoother transition into sleep.

Bedroom design as part of holistic wellness

Within Sleep WELL, bedroom design is viewed

as an extension of self-care. A thoughtfully

designed sleep space encourages consistent

routines and reinforces healthy sleep habits.

Over time, the bedroom becomes associated

with calmness and restoration rather than

stress or stimulation.

By aligning design choices with the body’s need

for rest, a sleep-friendly bedroom supports not

only better sleep, but also emotional balance

and mental clarity throughout the day.

A total of 57 companies from Denizli took

part in Heimtextil, while the Denizli Exporters’

Association (DENİB) once again participated

for the 11th time with the Turkish Towels

brand in Hall 5.1. Denizli’s home textile

products were showcased at exhibitor

stands, while Turkish Towels advertisements

positioned in high-traffic areas of the fair

promoted Turkish towels on a global scale.

DENİB was represented at the fair by Board

Member Süreyya Çalışkan.

Denizli Member of Parliament Şahin Tin visited

the Turkish Towels stand within the scope of

Heimtextil, meeting with participating Denizli

companies. During his visit, Tin received

information about the promotional activities

and displayed products, emphasizing the

importance of Denizli’s home textile sector

gaining visibility at international trade fairs.

Another visit to the Turkish Towels stand

came from Denizli Member of Parliament

Şeref Arpacı, who gathered insights on

Denizli’s export potential, branding efforts,

and sustainable production approach.

Arpacı stated that promotional activities

carried out at prestigious fairs such as

In addition, Murat Muştu, Commercial

Attaché of Türkiye in Frankfurt, visited the

Turkish Towels stand and conveyed his best

wishes for success to the Denizli companies

participating in the fair.

Commenting on the fair, DENİB Chairman

Hüseyin Memişoğlu said: “As Denizli, we

take great pride in participating in this fair

with our extensive experience in the home

textile sector, our branding vision, and our

sustainable production approach. Heimtextil is

not merely a product exhibition; it is a platform

where trends are shaped and design meets

innovation. Within this framework, Denizli is

showcasing its new collections, environmentally

friendly production processes, and branding

initiatives at the Turkish Towels stand. We view

this fair not only as an exhibition opportunity,

but also as a chance to establish new business

connections, increase our global visibility, and

represent our city’s brand worldwide.”

DENİB Board Member Süreyya Çalışkan,

who represented the Association at the fair,

also underlined Heimtextil’s importance for

Denizli companies, stating: “Heimtextil is an

invaluable platform where our companies

directly convey their capabilities in quality,

design, and sustainability to global buyers.

The strong interest we observe at the fair

once again confirms the solid perception of

Denizli home textiles in international markets.

Here, our companies present not only their

products, but also their production culture,

innovative perspectives, and commitment

to long-term partnerships. As DENİB, we

continue to take an active role on the ground

to ensure that these contacts evolve into

lasting commercial relationships.”

Half of Türkiye’s Home Textile Exports Come

from Denizli: The Heart of the Sector Beats Here

Emphasizing that Denizli is a major player

not only in Türkiye but also globally in the

home textile sector, DENİB Chairman Hüseyin

Memişoğlu noted: “Seventy-eight percent

of Türkiye’s towel exports, 66 percent of

bathrobe exports, and 61 percent of bedding

exports are realized from our province.

When overall home textile export figures

are evaluated, 41 percent of Türkiye’s total

home textile exports originate from Denizli.

This clearly indicates that nearly half of

Türkiye’s 3.5 billion USD home textile exports

are Denizli-based. We continue to maintain

our nationwide leadership and value-added

position in these product groups.”

Next-Generation Home Textiles with Turkish

Towels: Innovation in Design, Quality in

Production, Sustainability for the Future

Sustainability, the use of recycled materials,

and innovative design stand out as key

themes shaping Heimtextil 2026. Exporters

from Denizli strongly reflect these trends,

showcasing their sustainable production

approach through high-quality products with

distinctive designs. In doing so, they once again

demonstrate that Denizli is a leading force in

home textiles not only in Türkiye, but worldwide.

DENİB Chairman Hüseyin Memişoğlu also

addressed new initiatives under the Turkish

Towels brand:

“Turkish towels have been trusted for

centuries for their quality and craftsmanship.

However, in today’s global markets, sustaining

this trust now requires proof. With the digital

traceability system we are implementing

under the Turkish Towels brand, every stage

of each Turkish towel—from its origin to the

production process—will become verifiable.

Through this system, Turkish Towels will

no longer be just a product name, but a

protected, audited, and proven standard.

As the Denizli Exporters’ Association, we

hope that taking part in this important

organization will serve our goals of increasing

our city’s export strength. We wish the fair

to be productive for all our exporters and

the sector as a whole. We invite everyone

who would like to learn more about Denizli’s

home textile sector—and enjoy a short coffee

break—to visit our stand in Hall 5.1.”

practical approach helps manufacturers bring

innovative products to market more efficiently.

Collaboration with a sustainability focus

Beyond functional performance, the

partnership places strong emphasis on reducing

environmental impact. Solutions developed

under the collaboration support more efficient

use of resources and align with sustainability

goals across the textile value chain.

By combining performance-driven innovation

with sustainability-focused practices,

Archroma and HeiQ aim to support the

Grand finale held

for DENİB Design 4 th Home & Bath

Textile Design Competition

The DENİB Design 4th Home & Bath Design Competition brought together

Denizli’s deep-rooted manufacturing and export experience with

the vision of young designers. The competition aims to strengthen Denizli’s

design culture, carry its home textile tradition into the future through

an innovative approach, and enhance the city’s design-oriented brand value.

Organized by DENİB with the support of the

Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade and under

the coordination of the Turkish Exporters

Assembly (TİM), the exhibition and final night

of the DENİB DESIGN 4th Home & Bath

Textile Design Competition were successfully

completed on 27 November 2025 at Denizli

Emporia Hotel, with strong public interest.

Following an extensive preparation period,

the completed designs were showcased

throughout the day in special booths

prepared for each finalist, drawing significant

attention from visitors. That evening, during a

spectacular Final Night attended by leading

names from the industry, representatives

of the design world, and official guests, the

winning designs were announced.

The event—once again highlighting Denizli’s

determination on its journey to becoming a

design hub in home and bath textiles—was

attended by Denizli Member of Parliament

Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, the Denizli

(TİM) Deputy Chairman Çetin Tecdelioğlu,

presidents of exporters’ associations,

representatives of sponsor companies, jury

members, and many invited guests.

In his opening speech on the Final Night,

DENİB Chairman Hüseyin Memişoğlu

emphasized the critical importance of design

for Denizli’s exports and stated:

“This year, with the theme ‘In the Footsteps

of the Past, in the Texture of the Future,’ the

fourth edition of the DENİB Design Home &

Bath Textile Design Competition has evolved

into a visionary project that brings together

Denizli’s production and export tradition—

rooted in ancient times—with innovation. In

the home textile sector, competitiveness is no

longer shaped solely by production capacity,

but by design strength and an original brand

identity. With this understanding, we are truly

pleased to keep this competition alive in our

city, connecting the imagination of our young

designers with the industry.

I would like to note that we will achieve our

2025 export target of USD 4.7 billion thanks

to our exporters, who work tirelessly day and

night under all conditions, and considering our

performance so far. I thank all our exporters

for their contributions.

Although Denizli is known for its experience

in the home textile sector, our province’s

exports stand out through sectoral diversity

and a broad-based structure. The fact that a

company ranked 100th in exports has achieved

exports exceeding USD 6 million is the clearest

indicator that exports are spreading across

a wider base. Cable, copper wire, agricultural

products, and mining are among our other

prominent sectors. I would especially like to

state with pride that we rank first nationwide

in exports of towels, bathrobes, bedding sets,

processed natural stone, and copper wire, and

second in cable exports.

Today, we had the opportunity to see the

designs produced by our finalists. Each work

clearly demonstrates the creative potential

of our youth. On this occasion, we hope that

design culture will be embraced even more in

our province, the added value of our exports

will increase, and our competitive advantage

in global markets will be strengthened.

Today, we identified the top three finalists

in both the home textile and bath textile

categories, awarding a total of six designers. I

would like to emphasize again: being selected

first among the top 28 out of hundreds of

applications, then among the top 14 in the semifinal,

witnessing the production process of their

designs and meeting the industry—these are

among the greatest rewards of this competition.

Therefore, there were no losers tonight. I

wholeheartedly congratulate all our finalists.

On behalf of our Board of Directors and myself,

I would like to express my sincere thanks to

the Committee Members of the DENİB Design

Competition, our project team, jury members,

sponsor companies, all stakeholders, and our

colleagues working at DENİB.”
