FROM THE

PRESIDENT

Submitted by

Jody Webb

With Good weather approaching and run season coming into full swing, I

want to thank any members that are attempting to run an event for the first

time as well as send a shout out to any members that are back at it running

another activity. I think we are about 12 runs to sign up for at the moment,

which makes me super stoked! Please remember that putting on a run is a

delicate and intense process for its leader. Positivity and kind remarks are all

that they need to hear.

Our first meeting at Black Bear Diner was tight but seemed to run smoothly.

We have gotten the glitches out with our new sound system and the food

ordering system seemed to go pretty smoothly. I am pleased to announce that

we will be adding a lot of new items to the menu at March’s meeting

including more dinner options and grilled chicken options for salads and

sandwiches. The breakfast option will remain and include hashbrowns or

home fried potatoes. Raffle tickets will not be sold until the people selling

tickets have had a chance to eat. We will announce when sales are open. We

have revised the floorplan for additional space for you guys.

PLEASE NOTE: THE NEW SEATING PLAN WILL HELP BUT YOU CAN

HELP TO BY:

1. COMING IN AND MOVING FORWARD TOWARDS THE FRONT

OF THE ROOM.

2. BEING MINDFUL OF MEMBERS THAT HAVE CHALLENGES.

3. NOT SAVING SEATS. IT IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.

Thanks again for being patient. With all the issues in the paper regarding

gaming law changes, I am super happy we have embarked on this

relationship with Black Bear Diner.

this year with over 12 different members involved in their organization.

We have already had 3 successful events with Superbowl, an EAA

Movie night and the Valentine’s Day Lunch.

If anyone hears of something that is happening in the community or has

an idea, please do not hesitate to reach out and I will help in any way I

can to get you pointed in the right direction.

FEBRUARY

SUNSHINE &

CLOUDS

By Jill Kroeker

It’s always great when there is more Sunshine than Clouds reported. Please don’t forget to

let me know if there is something you would like me to share with the club. We can pray

through the tough times and rejoice with you in the good times.

I was so good seeing Dave Trauger at the last meeting, looking great as always.

Craig Derringer is recovering nicely from his fall and surgery. Darlene shared that he’s

doing better and better each day. Keep up the good work Craig.

Carolyn Dias let me know that Greg is doing great since his heart valve replacement

surgery. We are so thankful.

Skip and Leighanne share that their grandson Colby was award rookie of the year at the

company he works for. He was hired by Stryker, they make joint replacement prosthetics.

He has brought more doctors on board than his peers. Quite an accomplishment, he went

from child actor to top salesman. Way to go Colby.

Richard and Lisa Kjar could not join us at the last meeting due to Lisa being sick. That was

not the worst of it though. They had a terrible odor in their house that smelt like burnt

wiring. Richard tried to find the source but no luck. Lisa decided to help so she picked up

her little doggie that has the run of house and went from room to room holding her tight

and the smell was horrible wherever she went. Long story short the dog had been skunked

while out in the back yard she brought the smell into the house on the bed the carpets ect.

I’m sure some day they will look back on this nightmare and laugh. I could not help but

laugh a little listening to Richard tell the story.

Louie and Socorro shared that their granddaughter Taylor had a lead role in a junior high

drama. They said she had an amazing performance and were sure proud of her. They might

have an actor in the family.

Several of our CVC family members are celebrating with Araceli

on a Mexican Rivera cruise. Due to the rising concerns of more

violence in some areas of Mexico, they aren’t able stop in Puerto

Vallarta. I’m sure that it has not stopped them from having an

amazing time on the ship. I have cruised with the people before,

and they sure know how to party!

Please remember to keep Dennis and Leta Ward in our prayers. Leta shared that each day

brings different challenges for them. They are both so precious and we are so blessed to

have them in our corvette family.

Blessings, Jill
