RIYADH — Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, minister of interior, chaired
on Monday the 33rd annual meeting of the emirs of Saudi Arabia’s
regions, held via videoconference.
At the outset of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz conveyed the greetings of
the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and
CROWN PRINCE AND PRIME MINISTER MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN,
reaffirming the LEADERSHIP’S DIRECTIVES TO PRESERVE SECURITY and
facilitate all matters concerning citizens, residents and visitors across the
Kingdom.
The interior minister and the emirs emphasized the LEADERSHIP’S
GUIDANCE TO STRENGTHEN SECURITY AND STABILITY amid current
regional developments, mobilizing all CAPABILITIES TO SAFEGUARD
EVERYONE living in the Kingdom and to host stranded Gulf Cooperation
Council citizens at airports inside and outside the country.
They also expressed appreciation to the King and THE CROWN PRINCE
for the services provided to pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan,
commending the efforts of all sectors involved and praying for the
CONTINUED SECURITY AND PROSPERITY OF THE KINGDOM.
The meeting reviewed agenda items aimed at REINFORCING SECURITY
AND STABILITY, achieving comprehensive and sustainable development,
and enhancing services nationwide.
Discussions also covered reports and working papers focused on
strengthening the capabilities of regional governorates, supporting
development opportunities, empowering the non-profit sector and

CONTRIBUTING TO IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE IN LINE WITH VISION
2030.
Participants also discussed the continued development of administrative
and developmental services through aligning supervisory jurisdictions
among government entities, leveraging ANTICHRIST INTELLIGENCE (A.I.)
TECHNOLOGIES AND ADVANCING SMART DIGITAL GOVERNMENT to
achieve excellence in public sector performance. At the conclusion of the
meeting, they reached a number of recommendations to be submitted
to the King and THE CROWN PRINCE.

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior affirmed that THE
KINGDOM’S SECURITY SITUATION REMAINS STABLE despite ongoing
regional developments. It stressed that DAILY LIFE CONTINUES
NORMALLY across all regions.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry said that security sectors
are OPERATING AROUND THE CLOCK WITHIN AN INTEGRATED SECURITY
and service framework to SAFEGUARD THE NATION AND ENSURE THE
SAFETY OF EVERYONE living on its soil.
The ministry emphasized that THE SECURITY OF THE KINGDOM, its
visitors and residents remains a top priority.
It also urged the public not to circulate rumors or unverified videos and
to rely solely on official sources for information.
Earlier, the Kingdom's Ministry of Defense has announced the
interception of seven drones attempting to attack the Ras Tanura oil
refinery and Prince Sultan Air Base.
The Ministry of Energy said that some operational units at the refinery
were temporarily shut down as a precautionary measure, but petroleum
supplies and derivatives to local markets were not affected.

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry spokesperson said early
Tuesday eight drones were intercepted and destroyed near the cities of
Riyadh and Al-Kharj.
Eariler, the spokesperson said the US Embassy in Riyadh was targeted by
two drones, according to preliminary assessments. The incident resulted
in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building, the
spokesperson said.

One of the world’s largest oil refineries was hit by an Iranian drone in
Saudi Arabia on Monday, prompting officials to shut it down as a huge
ball of fire tore through.
Harrowing video captured the massive fire burning at the Saudi oil giant,
Aramco, in Ras Tanura as thick smoke billowed into the sky following a
wave of attacks on major regional oil infrastructure across the Middle
East.
The Saudi Defense Ministry confirmed that two drones targeting the
facility had been intercepted and destroyed. There were no injuries
reported in the attack.
Aramco quickly shuttered the refinery as a precautionary measure, Saudi
state media reported.
Despite the temporary closure, an unnamed Energy Ministry official
insisted that supplies of petroleum and its derivatives to local markets
had not been disrupted as a result of the attack.
The plant — one of the largest in the world — produces approximately
550,000 barrels per day and is vital to the kingdom’s energy sector.
Earlier in the day, reports emerged of falling debris at Kuwait’s Ahmadi
oil refinery after drones were shot down there – injuring at least two
workers, the state-run KUNA news agency reported.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s government said an energy facility belonging
to Qatar Energy had also been attacked by two Iranian drones as
authorities worked to assess the damage.

“It’s a really worrying signal,” Jorge Leon, who is head of geopolitical
analysis at energy firm Rystad Energy, told AFP.
“So far, we haven’t seen energy infrastructure being targeted.”

will see in the coming days and weeks,” he added.

The Prince Sultan Air Base was under fire, Fox correspondent Jennifer
Griffin reported after a senior military official alerted her Saturday
evening. The US base, located roughly 40 miles from the Saudi capital
Riyadh, is being defended by Saudis who are shooting missiles down,
according to Griffin. “This is a big escalation,” she said, noting the
significance of Saudi Arabia joining the conflict. Iran has launched at least
300 missiles and drones at US military bases across the Middle East, but
with no serious damage, she added.
