Black history is witnessing directions to erase,

rewrite, or dilute the truth, turning a celebration

into a battleground.

Programs designed to address systemic inequities,

including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

initiatives and affirmative action, from painting

over Washington D.C.'s Black Lives Matter

mural to temporarily scrubbing the stories of

Navajo Code Talkers in World War II from

federal websites, scholars and activists say stories

of nonwhite history, even recent history, are

being erased at rapid speed; to projecting the

first Black President and First Lady as apes.

The penny is about to be eliminated from American

currency. It costs 3.69 cents to

penny production, the Treasury

in the U.S., totaling $1.14

it is on its last go-round. What happens when you

Questioning the need of

Black History Month

By Barbar Gills

CSJ staff Writer

At the YMCA of 36th and Wabash, the story of Black

History Month began in Chicago during the summer of

1915. An alumnus of the University of Chicago

with many friends in the city, Carter G. Woodson

traveled from Washington, D.C. to participate

in a national celebration of the fiftieth anniversary

of emancipation sponsored by the

state of Illinois.

Actor Morgan Freeman pointed out, "You are

going to give me the shortest month in a year?

And you are going to celebrate ‘my’ history?!

This whole idea makes my teeth itch. It’s not right."

Morgan stressed that “My history is American history,”

In contras to President Donald

prominent Black Americans’ contributions

to U.S. history – but notably missing was

In the

proclamation,

Trump

celebrating

the U.S.’s

is not distinct from American history.” Yet, portrayed

US President Donald Trump's blatant

self-interest, escalating abuse of power,

including attacks on constitutional guardrails

that protect elections, free speech,

and the right to protest. — while Americans

face economic strain, he uses his

wealth to tighten control and protect his

own power.

Trump called Harris “dumb as a rock”,

“nasty,” “crazy” “low IQ,” mocked her

laugh, mispronounced her name and even

said he is better looking than her. She

lacked the “mental capacity” to debate him

before their debate. All seemly part of

which worked for him to win the election.

Despite Harris loss to Trump her election

debate prediction on Trump position

resurfaces to reality. Dispute her truth,

@TonyMichaelsPodcast it was noted; the

reason many could not vote for her is

based on two factors; One, she is Black

and the other she is a woman.

What many witnessed during that national

address wasn't just political theater.

It was a psychological breakdown broadcast

to the entire world. The rambling, the

conspiracy theories, the rage - it was like

watching someone argue with voices in

their head while Americans looked on in

horror.

This wasn't leadership.

This was a

man who had completely

lost control,

not just of himself,

but of the situation,

his administration,

and his responsibilities

as President.

Dispute her truth, some

say the reason many could

not vote for her is based

on two factors, One she is

Black and the other she is

a woman.

Humans remember the greats. Frequently honor them and choose how to remember.

By contrast, in America one would be hard-pressed to identify American president

as the pyramids with Mount Rushmore. Upon former Vice President Kamala

Harris being elected President of the United States it will deserve to be mounted

on Mount Rushmore as the first Female President. Her election will be part of what

defines a culture of the world, is in the noblest of Cleopatra.

Earlier reports were Harris is the top

choice to be 2028 presidential nominee,

according to a survey released by Puck

News/Echelon. Insights, found that 41

percent of likely Democratic voters would

vote for Harris to be atop the

Democratic ticket.

Upon Harris becoming a

president candidate have improved

sharply from 50/1 (2

percent) to 25/1 (3.8 percent)

among one bookmaker after

the former vice president

announced that she won't be

running to be the next governor of California

in 2026.

Harris said she is not focused on a

2028 presidential run, choosing instead to

promote her memoir 107 Days.

On the Steve Gibert Tonight Show

she indicated she will continue to service

the public and spend her time going

around the country talking to people. A

sign that Harris is putting up a four year

campaign as Trump did over shadowed his

two impeachments, multiple criminal indictments

at the state and federal levels.

Possible run for president, California

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) placed second at

8 percent, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh

Shapiro (D). Another poll Harris received

26% support from Democrats and Democrat-leaning

voters in the survey conducted

by Echelon Insights.

“If she decided she wanted to run for

president in 2028, she would start out as a

favorite,” said Jim

Kessler, a co-founder

of the left-center think

tank Third Way. “I

don’t think a prohibitive

favorite, but definitely

someone who

would start out on top,

would be able to raise

money, is known by

voters, and who acquitted

herself very well in

her short campaign against Trump.”

Upon Harris being elected President it

would deserve to be mounted on Mount

Rushmore as the first Female President.

Her election will be part of what defines a

historical culture of the world, is in Cleopatra.

“Scoring a knockout and looking presidential

in the process” Said Delmarie

Cobb of the Ida’s Legacy Committee, and

political press practitioner. “There was no

angry Black woman" moment or "sister

girl" moment or "word salad" moment.

Instead, Harris' takedown of Trump was

done peg by peg for the world to see what

a little man he is”.

Dispute her truth, some say the reason

many could not vote for her is based on

two factors, One she is Black and the other

she is a woman.

and pride in their neighborhoods

Yet, heading to 2027 election,

Chicago's political landscape is

shaped by budgetary challenges,

ongoing federal scrutiny, and

significant local governance issues,

and national dynamics targeted

by President Donald

Trump. All of which are crucial

for apprehending the city's governance

and future direction.

Overall, Johnson transition

from union organizer to big city

mayor Chicago politics is characterized

with a host of local and

national endorsers on Johnson

campaign web page.

In some of the more pressing

issues as Johnson maneuvers a

job approval rating of 31%. The

poll of 812 registered Chicago

voters was conducted Oct. 17-23

by the Democratic polling firm

Change Research for One Future

African American Contractors Association

Illinois, a political action committee.

If Johnson run for reelection

he will be facing challenges

seeking the 5th Floor.

Candidates as Congressman

Mike

Quigley, Maria Pappas,

and Joe Holberg have

said that they are running

as others have

hardly made a secret of

their interest such as

Susana Mendoza and

as even again Willie

Wilson, and thirteen

others hinted.

Johnson boasts he

is proud of his progress

as mayor interviewed

on CBS news. Yet, he

dodged the question if

he will run for reelection.

"I've been all over

the city of Chicago.

And everywhere I go,

people are feeling the

excitement, the energy

has shifted in the city.”

The migration concern

switched to a national collaboration.

continue to do is to collaborate

with every single level of government

including of course,

pushing the federal government

to provide support that is needed

Mayor said.

Johnson touted among his

successes movement on

his Bring Chicago Home

initiative to help the homeless,

and his efforts to revamp

policing so it incorporates

his campaign

promise of utilizing mental

health experts for

some 911 calls.

“There’s value in having

long period of time to see

the vision happen.” Said

WVON Talk show host

Matt McGill. “Right now,

we have a second bite at

this apple and we’ve got

to get it right for longterm

progress.”

Johnson saying he has

spent “20 times” more to improve

and “repopulate” South

and West side neighborhoods

than he has anywhere else. Adding

he is “grateful” to “stand on

the shoulders of incredible leaders

like Harold Washington and

Eugene Sawyer who “made it

possible for me to be in this position.”

“We’re laying the foundation

the nations first Black president

and his wife Michelle Obama as

apes within the same week.

Since returning to the White

House, Trump has led an effort to

rid the country’s institutions of

diversity, equity and inclusion

programs and reframe U.S. history

in a more positive light by

deemphasizing slavery.

For many modern Black millennials,

the month-long celebration

for Black History Month offers an

opportunity to reimagine what

possibilities lie ahead. But for

most African Americans the forces

that drove Carter G. Woodson

nearly a century ago are more

relevant than ever.

As Lonnie G. Bunch III, Director

of the Smithsonian Institution

said at the opening of the

Washington D.C.'s National Museum

of African American History

and Culture in 2016: “There is

no more powerful force than a

people steeped in their history.

And there is no higher cause than

honoring our struggle and ancestors

by remembering".

Initially, Black History Month

was a way of teaching students

and young people about Black

and African-Americans' contributions.

Such stories had been largely

forgotten and were a neglected

part of the national narrative.

Now, it's seen as a celebration

of those who've impacted not just

the country but the world with

their activism and achievements.

The month-long spotlight during

February is an opportunity for

people to engage with Black histories,

go beyond discussions of

racism and slavery and highlight

Black leaders and accomplishments.

By the late 1960s, thanks in

part to the civil-rights movement

and a growing awareness of

Black identity, Negro History

Week was celebrated by mayors

in cities across the country. Eventually,

the event evolved into

Black History Month on many

college

campuses.

In 1976, President Gerald Ford

officially recognized Black History

month.

Since his administration, every

American president has recognized

Black History Month and

its mission. But it wasn't until

Congress passed "National Black

History Month" into law in

1986 that many in the country

began to observe it formally. The

law aimed to make all Americans

"aware of this struggle for freedom

and equal opportunity".

February was chosen by Woodson

for the week-long observance

as it coincides with the

birthdates of both former US

President Abraham Lincoln and

social reformer Frederick

Douglass. Both men played a

significant role in helping to end

slavery.

This Black History Month, Chicago

work continues to shape the cultural,

Despite his many

Jesse

often overshadowed

by his family

name. Which aspect of his life do

Fay Buie; Washington Heights

He is qualified and smart!

Patricia Veal, Morgan Park; People

wouldn't vote for him again. I did

as I said, I don't trust him now.

Bob Janski; Run Jessie Run!! How many of

you have never done something wrong? Were

you forgiven? God has put him here for a reason.

Maybe he’s the one who can connect with our

youth…and stop feeding into the negative narrative

that’s being feed to you….also how many of

you saw your pay check shorten by what he

did…Did it affect your Aid? Please stop with the

hate and give others a chance to redeem themselves.

Barbara Remmer, Park Manor

Jackson Jr. received SSI payment due to mental

problems and now you want to reelect him to a

governmental position.

Barbara Rowsey,

Princeton Park; No. See

this is why our youth is so

messed up…there is no compassion

for others no forgiveness

and nothing but hate…Hate that

the parents are showing who are

supposed to be a leading example

for the youths… AGAIN I ASK HOW DID

HIS STEALING AFFECT YOUR POCK-

ETS….I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW.

TO MELVIN ‘Let him rot in hell”. This is very

hateful!

Terry Jones, East Woodlawn; If someone

knows him they should suggest to him to run

for an aldermanic spot. Him trying to run for

congress again won’t work. He needs to gain the

trust of the people at. I wouldn’t vote for him

right now, to much baggage. I

would give him a shot at alderman,

we need to change that dynamic.

Same thing I said about the

young brother Green. He wasn’t

would have won an aldermanic

seat. They need to take a page out

13 for Davis 7th Congressional Seat

Early voting is officially opens February

12, for Illinois primary election of

March 17, 2026.

Democratic Congressman Danny Davis,

age 83, announced he's not running

for another term in 2026, after serving

nearly 30 years and endorsed Illinois

State Rep. La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago)

to take his seat in Congress.

Davis said he hopes to be remembered

"as one who tried to educate the

constituents, educate the community, to

know that they can have voice, they can

have presence, and they can help make

decisions."

The congressman started in 1979

when he first became a member of the

Chicago City Council, for the 29th

Ward on the West Side for 11 years.

In 1990, he became Cook County

Board of Commissioners. In 1996 he

was elected to the 7th District.

In addition to Ford running 12 others

Park Mayor Rory Hoskins, businessman

Jason Friedman, and Marine Corps veteran

John McCombs also have said they

U.S. Census projections

back in 2008.

The U.S. ethnic landscape is expected to change dramatically. Figure shows the

racial and ethnic distribution in 2008 and the projected distribution for the year

2050. Whereas about two-thirds of the country in 2008 consisted of European

backgrounds, in 2050 only about 46% of the country is expected to be non-

Latino white, with Latinos making the greatest gains of all the other groups.

as it was done by Adolf Hitler mass

to secure White population more than

Boarder Control, as the U.S. Census reports

the white population will be less than 50 of

the nation’s population by the year 2050.

The saying "Give me your tired, your

poor, your huddled masses” is challenged

by Trump, preserving the white race majority

of USA. his administration will revoke

the temporary legal status of 530,000 Cubans,

Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans,

according to a Federal Register.

Now after Trump began his deportation

mandate, many in the Latinx community

admitted that they regret voting for Trump.

More than 50 percent of Latinx people voted

for the Republicans 2025.

Los Angles, California has about 60%

Latinas populations, Chicagoland, 36 percent

and city's 560,000 foreign-born residents.

However, Trump in effect is to stop

the decreasing number of Caucasians in the

United States.

Some lean to why Trump speaks to

making Cananda the 51st State and capturing

to the US Constitution.

Trump directives maybe too late to save

the deceasing white population in the USA.

In 2021, there were about 11 million

Mexican-born in the United States.

Among the nation's 3,144

counties, 59% (1,864) had

populations that grew from

2022 to 2023; of these, 38%

(716 counties) gained more

Hispanic than non-Hispanic

people. Upon those children

giving birth at an average of 3

-4 is 40 million children by

2050. There were 62.5 million

Latinos in the United States in

2021, accounting for approximately

19% of the total U.S.

population. All indicators it would make up

to about 30% of the U.S. population by

2050.

In each year from 2021 to 2023, immigration

has driven the nation’s population

growth, with net migration outnumbering

natural population growth that comes from

having more births than deaths. Of the 1.6

million-person increase in the population

from 2022 to 2023, 1.1 million (68%) came

from immigration, while 504,000 (32%)

came from natural growth.

Trump has pledged to make Chicago to

be ground zero for mass deportations. Alder

Lopez and Tabares have introduced an ordinance,

2023-0004222, that will further

President Trump’s agenda by permitting the

Chicago Police to engage in immigration

enforcement.

The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus

issued the following statement: “At a time

when people across our country are seeking

unity in the wake of political division, extremists

are offering nothing but fear and

intimidation.

“Our greatest safety is in community.

As leaders of this state, we pledge to use

every tool at our disposal — legislative,

legal, and otherwise — to protect our immigrant

families from the threat of mass deportation.

We will not be intimidated and

will not allow our communities to live in

fear. As the saying goes, “El pueblo unido,

jamás será vencido — the people united

will never be defeated.”

"Self-Hate is Real" line was

excellent directed at the Latinos

for Trump, Rep. Jolanada Jones

said, “I think the "White Card

Declined" line really set things

off. Trump received 45% of

Latino voters. “Then founded

they are people of color.”

During Hispanic Heritage

Month Pedro Martinez, former

Chief Executive Officer for Chicago

Public Schools said. “Like

me, nearly half of Chicago Public

School students identify as Hispanic.”

He continued to say “As a kid growing up

in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, my community

gave me strength and pride in my

heritage, and I wholeheartedly celebrate all

of our students’ cultural identities this

month and throughout the year.”

Yet Chicago city council is facing chaos

and backlash over its sanctuary city status,

as tensions rise between local leaders, residents,

and migrants. Once seen as a symbol

of inclusivity, the policy is now sparking

overcrowding, budget strains, and public

safety concerns. With protests, political

divisions, and growing frustration, has the

sanctuary city model at odds.

Chicago like the nation is changing its

racial demographics as Mexican descendants

is now about 38% of the city. While

African descents were close to half of the

population in 1980’s, now are about one

third as Caucasians. Asian people are the

largest of these smaller groups, making up

6.8% of Chicago's population.

Due to Trump pledge of mass deportation

of ‘non-Caucasians,’ to predict what

difference this demographic shift will mean

to the projected population of the USA and

#: 73 Bob Avakian, Chairman of the

Revolutionary Communist Party,

revcom.us/avakian

One of the most maddening and heartbreaking

things these days is to hear Black people,

who have suffered so terribly under this system,

hating on immigrants—talking about how immigrants

are supposedly taking jobs and resources that

should go to Black people and ruining neighborhoods

where Black people have lived for generations.

When I hear this, I can’t help thinking about what

happened when the mass migration of Black people

from the South took place beginning after World

War 1, a century ago. Coming into cities in the

North, Black

people were repeatedly

and

viciously attacked

by racist white

mobs, claiming

that Black people

were taking jobs

from white people,

that Black

people were ruining

the cities, and

just refusing to

“stay in their

place.”

Sound familiar?

The same thing

happened after

World War II, in

the 1950s and

1960s, when

Black people

were moving into

segregated “allwhite”

neighborhoods,

or going to previously allwhite

schools, and they were often

viciously, violently attacked by

racist white mobs—even as, on

the other hand, many white people

were actively taking part in the

fight against segregation, discrimination

and racist oppression overall.

And today, especially with the Trumpite

MAGA fascists, we see open, aggressive racism—against

Black people, and against immigrants

from what Trump has called “shit-hole”

countries (and you know what that means—you

know he doesn’t mean Norway)!

So I have a question for any Black people today

who are caught up in this hating on immigrants:

Do you really want to be like the rabid

white racists?

Or, do you want to put an end to this madness—that

you, and the immigrants, are being put

through?

It is this system that has put Black people

through hell for centuries, and is still putting

Black people through hell.

And it is this system of capitalismimperialism

that is putting masses of immigrants

through hell—making life unlivable for tens of

millions throughout the world—forcing them to

leave their homes and homelands in a desperate

search for a decent life, and then be exploited and

discriminated against if they make it to the country

most responsible for their miserable situation:

this country, the imperialist USA.

Instead of being played to hate on and fight

against each other, all the people who are oppressed,

exploited, misused, abused, tormented

and terrorized under this system—and all people

who really care about justice—need to unite to rise

up against, and put an end to, this system that is the

cause of all this madness, injustice and atrocity.

We are living in a time when it is possible to carry

out a revolution that can put an end to this system,

and bring into being a radically different and

much better system where the fundamental needs

and the highest aspirations of people for an emancipating,

uplifting way to live can become a reality.

All the outrage that people feel, and all the

hope and striving for a better way, needs to be

dedicated to and focused on working to bring

about that emancipating revolution.

its racial and ethnic relations is

difficult to say at this early date.

During his speech at a White

House event on his spending bill,

President Trump vowed to deport a

minimum of one million people

every year going forward, saying,

"We will dramatically increase deportations

to a minimum of 1 million

illegal aliens per year."

A poll shows 22% of Venezuelan

Americans who voted for

Trump now regret their vote by

Trump’s wave of deportation

measures.

If Latinos had gone for former

president Karmal Harris, instead of

breaking in an ongoing MAGA

shift, their political base would

have been more profound.

Reflecting on the high voter

turnout for Trump by Latinos, Joy

Reid former MSNBC commentary

told Latino Republican voters that

they "own everything" that happen

to their families under Trump”. It is

followed by Vice president JD

Vance remark, “Whites do not have

to apologize for be white anymore”.

The presumed innocence of

being Caucasian has served as the

necessary political foil being seen

today, racialized of Latino immigrants,

as was more targeted to

African Americans in the country.

Ad—Editorial

We’ve been Labeled

or Titled as Negros,

Colored, Black & Now

African Americans, Everything

BUT Who we

really are. When Christopher Columbus

landed on our soil, he discovered what

OUR people was doing in trade with

Africa, such as OUR Cotton Trade which

they just TOOK over, something that we

were doing long before these demons

landed & started their campaign to SUB-

DUE the Earth as they were ordered to do

by their Creator the devil, when He created

them (Gen. 1:28) & put Enmity

(HATRED) IN Them against The WOM-

AN’S Seed “US” (Gen. 3:15), wherever

they found us, North, South & Central

America, Australia, Africa, Asia etc.. the

Indigenous.

And they found us on every continent

because this was all one land @ one

time. And in the beginning, We ALL

migrated out of Africa & started inhabiting

the rest of the planet. When the continental

drift took place & the land separated

into continents, our people inhabited

every continent & was trading with

Africa & each other. So, this is why the

Europeans found us on every continent &

discovered what we were doing on every

continent & just conquered our people with

their guns & took over. And they were given

the power to SUBDUE the Earth, when the

Chinese introduced them to gunpowder, where

they eventually amassed their weapons to conquer.

Weapons that our people had never seen

& couldn’t defeat (Rev. 13:4)

They mixed their seed on every Continent,

to lighten up the Indigenous Inhabitants,

they pushed the Lighter skinned people to the

front & pushed the darker of our people to the

back, causing inner conflict from the darker

people watching how the lighter skinned people

were being treated, intentionally done just

to start the inner family conflict. Here in

America/Turtle Island, they eventually sought

to kidnap our people & put them in bondage

which was the beginning of all the Indigenous

Wars, The Seminole Wars, The Sioux Wars

where our people massacred General Custer

@ The Little Big Horn in their attempts to

preserve & protect our gold reserves.

They want us to believe that we were

all brought over here on slave ships but that’s

an outright LIE. And although they captured

SOME, took over our cotton Industry &

forced our people to grow & pick the cotton

that we were already trading before they got

here, the majority of our people wasn’t giving

up & not giving in, to the point that our

people was tearing their asses UP so bad that

eventually Abraham Lincoln decided to sign

the Emancipation Proclamation,

with THIS thought in mind, All

Right, All Right, just leave them

ALONE because they could not

continue to fight on two fronts,

the Civil War AND The Indigenous

Wars simultaneously &

WIN. Winning the Civil War was

the priority, so he was forced to

make the decision to stop trying

to enslave us, but they twisted

history AGAIN claiming that he

signed that Proclamation to free

us, another outright Lie.

When General Sherman

went through the South, returning

the cotton plantations back to the

original OWNERS, the Indigenous

inhabitants & placed our

people in political positions, infuriated

the democrats, who

eventually brought an end to

what’s called the reconstruction

era. They had the Northern troops removed,

took the cotton plantations back & implemented

their Jim Crow Laws & allowed the

rise of the K.K.K to instill intimidation & fear

in the Indigenous areas. Those Cotton Plantations

belonged to Us & to this day, those cotton

plantations still belong to us & what General

Sherman started never got finished. That

cotton money is supposed to be used to take

care of our peoples needs.

Then they put the call out to their

people in Europe to come get FREE land

which they were STEALING, documented in

the Movie Far & Away with Tom Cruise &

Nicole Kidman. They allowed these Europeans

to pay $5 & be classified as Native Americans,

thus the term $5 Indians. These Native

Americans were also known as the Know

Nothings & eventually became the 3 rd largest

political party behind the Democrats & Republicans.

These are the so called Indians that

they started giving the Casino Gaming Licenses

to, on the designated reservations.

Even Donald Trump Protested @ the Senate

Subcommittee meeting, about the issuance

of the licenses to these people who Trump

said: “They don’t look like Indians to ME &

they don’t look like Indians to the INDI-

ANS.”

As our people sought off to mind

their own business & peacefully build their

own communities across the country, these

people’s natural hatred & envy for us, not

They want us to believe that we were

all brought over here on slave ships

only had them burn us out, take more of our

land, constantly displacing us & instructing

our people to claim being Negroes opposed to

Indigenous & what tribes we belonged to, got

buried every time we buried an elder. Then in

the 60’s the youth didn’t want to be called

Negroes, so The Black Power Movement hit

the set with a Bang! Then in the 80’s the campaign

to start labeling us as

African Americans got started

to the point, that if you ask any

Indigenous youth who they are,

their answer will be African

American. It’s time to be classified

correctly, as the INDIG-

ENOUS of this land, in order

to receive the respect as to

Who, we REALLY Are. And

the real beauty is that, they

ain’t GOTTA respect it!

So, since we’re also

the people of the prophecies

(unknowingly to the CHURCH

for not listening), in 1928 The

Noble: Drew Ali was SENT to

US & was given the mandate to return

North, South & Central America back

to Our People @ The Pan American

Conference in Cuba, The Indigenous

Inhabitants, but have never been EN-

FORCED. Then, Elijah Muhammad

was SENT (Malachi 4:5) to prepare us for the

Coming of Malachi Z. York, who would Renew

Our 76 Trillion Year History

Our people KNEW

who we were until

they were told to

forget their Indigenous

culture

(Washitaw, Cherokee,

Choctaw &

the many other

tribes.

& the full story of Yakub that

Elijah spoke of, but couldn’t EX-

PLAIN. He said the one coming

NEXT would explain these things

etc. etc.. & Dr. York explained all

of these things in The Book “The

Holy Tablets”. Every Chapter

starting with the capital letter “L”

just as The Messenger envisioned

The Book that was COMING.

And His Books are the most profound

Information & knowledge

that has never been revealed to

The World, but is being revealed

to US 1 st & THEN, to The World!

And after 95 years of a prophet, a

messenger & now Melchizedek

back on The Planet in the Flesh

(who have not been proven wrong

in SIXTY Years), the Pastors are

STILL not listening & grossly

misleading Our People because of

it. Our young modern day Indigenous

warriors in the street need Knowledge!

Hosea 4:6 is VERY Clear, for those

with ears to HEAR. “My people are

destroyed for a lack of knowledge, because

you have rejected Knowledge, I

will also Reject YOU.”

And Now, THIS time we have a

Goddess (Empress Rare Bird) who has

been SENT to receive the Allodial Title

to ALL of Turtle Island & the Power to

start an International Central Bank

amongst other things that will be revealed

through her ACTIONS. Many of

our women are Self Titled as an Empress

but THIS Woman was born an

Empress, with the DNA codes in her

blood, to the point that The Rothchild

Family have relinquished all rights to

HER, acknowledging the changing

times & Our Turn To Rule over ourselves

as The INDIGENOUS Inhabitants

of this land. Her Official Coronation

was held in Tallahassee Florida on

4/7/24 & the solar eclipse was on 4/8/24

ushering in, a NEW Energy & her Coronation

was also Symbolic of the ushering

in of Our Original Culture, The Matriarch

System where the women rule &

the men protect & defend their decisions.

The Patriarch System was THEIR system

& the beginning of Wars. Women are not

sending their children off to fight useless &

senseless wars. We only fight when we

MUST.

Now is the time for us to be Classified

Correctly as The Indigenous People of

The EARTH who all migrated out of AFRI-

CA & inhabited the entire planet, before the

continental drift, when the lands separated &

formed the individual continents.

This is why they found us

on every continent when they 1 st

set sail out of Europe some 600

years ago to SUBDUE, as they

were ordered to do in Gen. 1:28

by their father, the devil (John

8:44) who put enmity (Hatred)

IN Them, against The WOM-

AN’S Seed & her offspring

(US) Gen. 3:15.

Our people KNEW who we

were until they were told to

forget their Indigenous culture

(Washitaw, Cherokee, Choctaw

& the many other tribes etc. etc..

etc..) & accept this misnomer,

being LABELED as Negroes &

colored, over 100 years ago, then Black

in the 60’s, then on to African Americans

which we are still LABELED &

accept to this very day in 2024. If you

ask your children today about WHO

they are, they would say African American

or Black because the knowledge of our

Indigenous roots was never even talked about

any more after accepting the TITLE, Not

knowing that this, was all a well thought out

plan to Separate Us from OUR Land as The

Original, Indigenous Inhabitants who has

always been here.

Correct Classification is why the new

immigrants are being given so much, due to

their CLASSIFICATION. Once WE are

Classified CORRECTLY as Indigenous,

which has NEVER been done, it’ll move

US as a people, straight to the TOP of the

food chain & immediately eligible for all of

the benefits afforded but not allocated TO

Us, because these benefits HAVE Never &

WILL Never be given to a misnomer

(Negroes, Blacks & African American).

These are Titles that was given to us, specifically

given to SEPARATE us from

OUR Land. It’ll ALSO put an end to us

paying property taxes etc. because we are

King: ... I want you to be able to say

that day that I did try to feed the hungry. I

want you to be able to say that day that I

did try in my life to clothe those who were

naked. I want you to say, on that day, that

I did try, in my life, to visit those who were

in prison. I want you to say that I tried to

love and serve humanity.

CSJ. As you strived your service have

you felt discouraged at times?

King: I don’t mind telling you … sometimes

I feel discouraged. I felt discouraged

in Chicago. As I move through Mississippi

and Georgia and Alabama... Living every

day under the threat of death, .. Living

every day under extensive criticisms, even

from Negroes, .. Yes, sometimes I feel discouraged

and feel my work’s in vain. But

then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again.

RC: Religion has been a very substance

part of your life, how was this developed?

King: Even though I have never had an

abrupt conversion experience, religion has

been real to me and closely knitted to life.

In fact the two cannot be separated.

It is quite easy for me to think of a God

of love mainly because I grew up in a family

where love was central and where lovely

relationships were ever present.

CSJ: Here in Chicago churches has become

like big business, and more social ills

in communities where most of the churches

are. There is a critical taste in the minds of

many with the religious leadership. Being a

preacher what is your assessment of that?

King: As a preacher... I must admit that

I have gone through those moments when I

as greatly disappointed with the church

and what it has done in this period of social

change.

...The apparent apathy of the Negro ministers

presented a special problem. A faithful

few had always shown a deep concern for

social problems, but too many had remained

aloof from the area of social responsibility.

Much of this indifference, it is

true, stemmed from a sincere feeling that

ministers were not supposed to get mixed

up in such earthly, temporal matters as

social and economic improvement; they

were to "preach the gospel" and keep

men's minds centered on "the heavenly."

But however sincere, this view of religion, I

felt, was too confined.

CSJ: As you are now aware the noble

election of the first African American President

of Barack Obama and then Vice

President Kamila Harris. In the words of

the late James Brown “Say it Loud, I am

Black and Proud” a reinforcement of

Black Power. Should ‘Black Power’ be

acknowledged?

King: ….In the final analysis;

...However much we may try to romanticize

the slogan, there is no separate black

path to power and fulfillment that does not

intersect white paths, and there is no separate

white path to power and fulfillment,

short of social disaster, that does not share

that power with black aspirations for freedom

and human dignity. We are bound

together in a single garment of destiny.

...We must stand up and say, "I'm black

and I'm beautiful," and this selfaffirmation

is the black man's need, made

compelling by the white man's crimes

against him.

I am not interested in power for power's

sake, but I'm interested in power that is

moral, that is right and that is good.

CSJ: During your life you were known

as an extremist. Not like Malcolm X, but

still an extremist even among some Black

people. There is/was a group of activist in

Chicago by the name of VOTE (Voice of

The Ex-offenders. Their leaders are Paul,

Mark and Joseph (late). So happens,

names represented in the Bible. Some

would call them extremist and others say

its courage. How do you assess them?

King: When you are right you cannot

be too radical; when you are wrong, you

cannot be too conservative....

Was not Jesus an extremist for love --

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse

you, pray for them that despitefully use

you." Was not Amos an extremist for justice

--

...Was not Paul an extremist for the gospel

of Jesus Christ -- "I bear in my body the

marks of the Lord Jesus."

Was not Martin Luther

an extremist --

"Here I stand; I can

do none other so help

me God."

..." Was not Thomas

Jefferson an extremist

-- "We hold these

truths to be self evident,

that all men are

created equal." So the

question is not whether

we will be extremist

but what kind of extremist

will we

be…..Jesus Christ, was

an extremist for love,

truth and goodness,

and thereby rose above his environment.

CSJ: Let me ask you about the late Harry

Belafonte, who past last year. There was

a program a few years ago honoring you,

in which your children did not

acknowledge Harry Belafonte. What is

your take on that?

King: Over 400 of our followers had

gone to jail; some had been bailed out, but

Chicago Street Journal

February 12—25, 2026 Page 9

we had used up all of our money for bail,

and about 300 remained in jail, and I felt

personally responsible. It was then that

President Kennedy telephoned my wife,

Coretta.

After that, my jail conditions were relaxed,

and the following Sunday afternoon

-- it was Easter Sunday -- two S.C.L.C.

attorneys were permitted to visit me. The

next day, word came to me from New York

that Harry Belafonte had raised $50,000

that was available immediately for bail

bonds, and if more was needed, he would

raise that.

CSJ: So is going to jail in your case an

example of what burden?

King: I submit that an individual who

breaks a law that conscience tells him is

unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty

of imprisonment in order to arouse the

conscience of the community over its injustice,

is in reality expressing

the highest respect for the

law.

Klansmen and too many

White Citizens Councilors

in the South to want to

hate myself, because every

time I see it, I know that it

does something to their

faces and their personalities

and I say to myself

that hate is too great a burden to bear.

CSJ: People still question your stance on

to continue talking about ‘love thy neighbor’,

turn the other cheek. Are you about

tired of speaking on that?

King: ... And I'm going to talk about it

everywhere I go. I know it isn't popular to

talk about it in some circles today. I'm not

talking about emotional bosh when I talk

about love, I'm talking about a strong,

demanding love.

And I have seen too much hate. I've seen

too much hate on the faces of sheriffs in

the South. I've seen hate on the faces of too

many.

CSJ: Let me ask you about another

public figure, Malcolm X. You met briefly

in Washington D.C. In the TV movie,

‘Genis MLK/X’, the movie strip directed

that you two were playing ‘Good Cop/Bad

Cop’. Was that a strategy of you two to

meet there as you did?

King: I met Malcolm X once in Washington,

but circumstances didn't enable me

to talk with him for more than a minute.

He is very articulate … but I totally disagree

with many of his political and philosophical

views — at least insofar as I understand

where he now stands…

I feel that Malcolm has done himself and

our people a great disservice. Fiery, demagogic

oratory in the black ghettos, urging

Negroes to arm themselves and prepare to

engage in violence, as he has done, can

reap nothing but grief.

...I have often wished that he would talk

less of violence, because violence is not

going to solve our problem. …

You know, right before he was killed he

came down to Selma and said some pretty

passionate things against me. And that

surprised me because after all it was my

territory there. But afterwards he took my

wife aside, and said he thought he could

help me more by attacking me than praising

me. He thought it would make it easier

for me in the long run.

CSJ: Your assignation and police misconduct,

resulted in riots. As a result the

governments have address some actions of

change. We know protest is a norm with

you. Can’t you see some benefit from riots?

King: The riot is the language of the

unheard...I want to stress this. The futility

of violence in the struggle for racial justice

has been tragically etched in all the recent

Negro riots. ... I tried to analyze the riots

and deal with their causes. ...I want to give

the other side. ...One sees screaming

youngsters and angry adults fighting hopelessly

and aimlessly against impossible

odds. And deep down within them, you can

see a desire for self-destruction, a kind of

suicidal longing.

Occasionally Negroes contend that the

1965 Watts riot and the other riots in various

cities represented effective civil rights

action. But those who express this view

always end up with stumbling words when

asked what concrete gains have been won

as a result. At best, the riots have produced

a little additional anti-poverty money allotted

... and a few water sprinklers to cool

the children of the ghettos.

It is something like improving the food

in the prison while the people remain securely

incarcerated behind bars...

CSJ: What is your take on war?

King: As I have walked among the desperate,

rejected and angry young men, ...

they asked — and rightly so — what about

Vietnam? They asked if our own nation

wasn't sing massive doses of violence to

solve its problems, to bring about the

changes it wanted. Their questions hit

home, and I knew that I could never again

raise my voice against the violence of the

oppressed in the ghettos without having

first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor

of violence in the world today —my own

government. …Returning violence for violence

multiplies violence, adding deeper

darkness to a night already devoid of

stars...

Our scientific power has outrun our

spiritual power. We have guided missiles

and misguided men.

CSJ: In 1967 when you and others

marched through Chicago’s Marquette

Park community, thousands of white

racists threatened you and others with

The Capture of Venezuela and

Cuba Next

Vantage Point

Articles and Essays

by Dr. Ron Daniels

The Institute of the

Black World 21st Century

joins the overwhelming

chorus of

voices of heads of state, elected officials

and civil society organizations around the

world in condemning the military assault

on the sovereign nation of Venezuela and

the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.

These acts are indisputable violations of

international law. Venezuela posed no

imminent danger of attacking the United

States or imminent danger to its national

interest.

Donald J. Trump must be checked by

any and all legal and legitimate means necessary!

The reckless actions of Trump and his

pathetic enablers are marked by the height

of hypocrisy, deception and criminality.

Over 100 human beings have been publicly

executed by these attacks. While in

September of last year on the remnants of a

ship where two survivors waving their

hands in hopes of rescue were murdered,

was clearly a war crime as defined by international

law.

Adding to the hypocrisy was the pardon

of Juan Orlando Hernandez, the former

President of Honduras, who was convicted

of trafficking 400 hundred tons of cocaine

into the United States. In addition, gangs in

Venezuela are not a major trafficker of

drugs on the global scene, but the cocaine

that is produced there is overwhelmingly

shipped to European nations, not the United

States.

Moreover, to the degree that there were

issues related to drug trafficking or any

other matters of concern

to Trump, President Lula of Brazil offered

to mediate these matters to avoid a military

confrontation. Which was rejected Washington

pursuing Trump’s real objective:

regime change and control of Venezuela’s

vast oil reserves. Hence, the rationale provided

by Trump’s, Secretary of

“War” Pete Hegseth. It became abundantly

clear when Trump ordered the seizure of

the first Venezuelan oil tanker.

Trump criminal assault on Venezuela,

the capture of Maduro and seizure of oil as

a warning to other nations in the region,

including Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and any

other nation that dares to defy his deranged

imperial ambitions. But, make no mistake

about it, while other nations may be mentioned,

the real target is Cuba. As Lawrence

O’Donnell declared recently on The

11th Hour on MSNOW, the assault on

Venezuela is a “dress rehearsal” for a pending

strike against Cuba.

The fragile Cuban economy which has

suffered from decades of an illegal U.S.

blockade, is sustained in part by discounted

oil from Venezuela. Haiti and Grenada are

among other nations from the Caribbean

who also benefit from Venezuelan oil.

Trump may well decide to launch an assault

on Cuba in the near future. Without

the oil from Venezuela, the Cuban economy

will collapse and mass discontent will

spark regime change. These machinations

were confirmed by Congressman Lindsay

Graham (R), who openly fantasized about

Cuba returning to the good old days of

being a flourishing playground for the rich

and the famous.

Cuba is the prize!

As it relates to

the interests and

aspirations of people

of African descent,

Cuba has

been a stanch and

unrepentant ally. In

fact, Afro-Cubans

were an indispensable

base for the Cuba

Revolution that

ousted the ruthless, corrupt,

mob-infested, U.S.

backed dictatorship

of Fulgencio Batista. To

his credit Fidel Castro

declared Cuba an

Afro-Hispanic Nation

and the prohibition of

discrimination against

Afro-Cubans was an

explicit, if imperfect policy

of Communist Party.

Cuba absolutely refused

to extradite her

back to the U.S. as concession

to lift the criminal embargo.

We must never forget the contribution

Governor J.B. Pritzker,

that Cuba

made to the

anti-colonial

struggles in

Africa by its

support for the

Popular Front

for the Liberation

of Angola,

MPLA and

fighting side

by side with the liberation

forces of Angola

and Namibia in the

decisive defeat of the

South African Defense

Forces in the battle

of Cuito Cuanavale; a

turning point which

marked the death knell

of apartheid in southern

Africa; a feat

which the Spanish

writer Jorge Tamames

calls: “One of

history’s greatest acts

of internationalism.”

21st Century

Dear

Letter To The Editor

We are writing to you today to urgently

address the systemic racial disparities that

persist within the contracting and procurement

services oversight and equity framework

in the State of Illinois. It is imperative

that we confront these issues head-on

and implement concrete measures to ensure

fairness and equity in the construction

and professional service bidding process,

as well as in Target Market and Joint Venture

opportunities for Black Women, Men

and Disadvantaged (W/M/DBE) contractors

and subcontractors. Despite efforts to

support BIPOC initiatives, it has become

increasingly evident that the current system

is failing to adequately support and

uplift Black communities within the state.

While we acknowledge the importance

of broader diversity initiatives, our primary

focus must be on empowering and supporting

Black individuals and businesses,

who have historically faced systemic barriers

to entry and success in these industries.

To address these pressing issues, I/

we urge you to take immediate action by

implementing a Trifecta-Taskforce, comprising

representatives from the State,

City, and Federal levels, or establishing

Joint-Ventures between the State and City.

This Taskforce or Joint-Venture would be

dedicated to building new partnerships

with both prime and subcontractors, with a

specific focus on creating opportunities for

Black contractors and subcontractors.

Furthermore, it is crucial that this Taskforce

or Joint-Venture is empowered to

develop and implement comprehensive

strategies to address racial disparities in

contracting and procurement services

oversight and equity. This includes but is

not limited to:

1. Ensuring fair and transparent bidding

processes that prioritize Black-owned

must assume a central role in confronting

one of the greatest challenges of the 21st

Century: ridding the U.S. and the world

of a criminal menace to international

society. Cleansing the body politic and

systems of society in the U.S. of the racist,

white supremacist, orange plague,

and Donald J. Trump.

Regime change in the U.S. is imperative,

and African Americans must lead

the way: Black people have the power to

be the burning spear of opposition and

transformation to achieve regime change.

And must raise our voices to protest the

criminal behavior of the White House

with marches, rallies, demonstrations and

acts of civil disobedience. The Congressional

Black Caucus, Civil Rights Legacy

Organizations, faith and labor leaders must

continue to vociferously condemn the actions

of the rogue regime in the White

House.

We must forge a broad-based united

front with the mission of educating, mobilizing

and organizing millions upon millions

of voters and non-voters to march on

ballot boxes in 2026 and 2028 to oust the

retrograde MAGA Republicans and their

from the House, the Senate and the White

House. No excuses, no apologies after the

fact for being accomplices to the plague of

MAGAISM. History demands a clean

sweep! Africans in America, Black people,

have the power to impact and change U.S.

policy toward Africa, the Caribbean, Central

and South America and the world. And

the world is counting on us to exercise our

power, Black Power! A luta continua!

Dr. Daniels is Founder and President of

The Institute of the

Black World 21st Century (IBW)

businesses and contractors.

2. Implementing targeted support

programs and resources to

help Black-owned businesses

thrive in the construction and

professional service industries.

3. Establishing accountability

measures to monitor and address

any instances of discrimination

or inequity within the contracting

and procurement process.

Governor Pritzker, the time for

action is now. We cannot afford

to continue overlooking the blatant

racial disparities that exist within our

contracting and procurement services

oversight and equity framework. By

taking bold and decisive action, we

can create a more just and equitable

future for all residents of Illinois.

Thank you for your attention to this

critical matter, and we

look forward to your

swift and decisive action

on this issue.

Caucasians

Dear President Donald Trump

The Martin Luther King Republicans have met at several

barber, beauty, and bar-b-que shops where Blacks agreed that

Build Back Better Broke Blacks Back.

After speaking with church, civic, fraternal, grassroots,

and street leaders, there is an overwhelming and dire request

for you to come to Chicago to hear the cries of the Black

community about the current southern border crisis and the

damaging effects of being a Sanctuary City. The Black community

knows that the Martin Luther King Republicans are

leaders in MAGA, Illinois's most incredible political movement

that has swollen to over 375K strong and growing, has

conservative DC contacts, and the infrastructure and capacity

to host you to speak about your solutions.

During your administration, Blacks in America experienced

growth with the lowest unemployment in history, record

funding for our HBCUs, and other programs and reforms,

like the Opportunity Zones and the First Step Act.

Not since the Viet Nam war has

American Caucasians been so united

in protesting. Now the killing of

Renne Good in _______________,

and the ‘No kings’ against President

Doanld Trump.

When Trump won in 2016, I

received a phone call, “Ron!

why aren’t Blacks protesting

Trump.” a Caucasian associate

ask in distress. He called again

in 2025. “Ron!, we are having a

demonstration against Trump,

Where is the Black leadership!?”.

Well there are people like Jasmine

Crocket, Black leadership is speaking

out. But when Black people go

silent, Not quiet out of fear; Quiet

like a storm loading but with common

sense. Realizing that Trump

was ready to shoot the Black Lives

Matter protesters, seeing the actions

of Minnesota, Black folks know

what he will have done to us. Thanks

God they were not Black.

A blogger posted, “I will not ask

what's wrong with Donald

Trump...rather I'm compelled to ask

what's wrong with the people of

America?” It can remind one of Nazi

Germans not believing the death

camps when they saw with their own

eyes what was happening. Then it

was too late.

The beginning of Hitler's rise to

power the parallels are terrifying

similarities between two turbulent

eras of history. From political comebacks

to economic exploitation and

media manipulation, these comparisons

raise important questions about

USA blindness and where it can be

heading.

Makie America Great Again

(MAGA) can be a flash back to the

Founding Fathers 12 of the 17 were

slave owners, such Chicago’s namesakes

of the

George Washington

As the German

people under

Hitler did not wake up until it

was too late. Trump defunding nonprofit

government media to the attack

on media talk shows is equal to

Hitler taking control of government

media.

Furthermore similar happening

with the military and the national

guard they're doing exactly as the

Nazi concentration camps, now

called Detention Centers. The Latina

people are like the Jewish people

was to Hitler, the race to hate; and

did not have the resources to fight

back.

To my Caucasian friend calling me

up about demonstrations against

Trump, we for the most part did not

vote for him, Caucasians did with a

surprising big base of Hispanics.

Christin Welch, speaker of Illinois

Trump voters

in the 2024 election were

white, according to the Associated

Press. Pew Research

Center found that 55 percent

of white voters voted for

Trump in 2024 and 2020 and

that 54 percent of white people

opted for him in 2016.

However, Trump still won by

a narrow vote as he continue

to say landslide.

In a series of interviews with

Vanity Fair, President Trump's Chief

of Staff Susie Wiles gave an unprecedented

and brutally honest account

of what’s going on inside the White

House. Wiles responded by calling it

a "hit piece." Opening up of the troubled

White House.

As it stands now it has to come

from the inside of Trump circle as it

did during his first term where about

half of his top quit in the first year.

Former Presidents Clinton and

Obama made the case on Trump.

Now make a plead to former president

Illinois Marijuana

Legality in Question

While marijuana is “legal” under

state law, it remains federally illegal.

This raises fundamental questions

about the industry’s legitimacy and

who ultimately benefits from its current

structure. Under federal law,

marijuana is classified as a Schedule

I controlled substance — alongside

heroin and LSD. Despite Illinois’

state laws, marijuana businesses operate

in defiance

of federal

regulations.

These

businesses

cannot access

traditional

banking

services,

unable to transport products across

state lines, and exist in a precarious

legal gray area that could be upended

by federal enforcement at any time.

Meanwhile, the 2018 Farm Bill

legalized hemp nationwide, creating a

federally compliant framework for

hemp-derived products such as CBD

and Delta-8 THC. Trump left observers

baffled when he suggested that

his tariffs on Canadian goods would

include taxes on illegal drugs.

Cummings went on to enjoy an illustrious

18-year NBA career which included

being named the 1983 NBA

Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Rookie

First Team, two-time NBA All-Star

and three All-NBA honors. He scored

almost 20,000 career points, 8,630

career rebounds and 1,255 career

December 2022, his career points rank

him 57th on the Top 100 scorers in

Cummings becomes only the third

player in DePaul’s history to have his

physical harm. Indeed, one placard at the march read,

“King would look good with a knife in his back.” What

is you reflection?

King: I have seen many demonstrations in the

South, but I have never seen anything so hostile and so

hateful as I’ve seen here…

The first step to do that is for whites of all ages to

learn an honest history of this country’s systemic racism

and the Black movements against it—something

many whites today are not even willing to begin doing.”

CSJ: Let us talk about some domestic issues. Over the

last 25 years Chicago has build the “White Wall Street”

around the Downtown, in a way cleansing Blacks from

Carbine Greens to south of Taylor public housing. In

that Chicago population Blacks are down to 34% from

51% in 1983. And yet it receive only about 11% of the

contracts of the city. Black Wall Street Chicago has proposed

the Parity Ordinance for contracts in 2010 of the

Aldermen $1.3 million, still not addressed it? Stephanie

Gatlin said, ‘What the city has done to Black people in

Chicago is a total shame of the leadership.” Should

there be parity of the contracts and jobs in Chicago?

King: If a city has a 30% Negro population, then it is

logical to assume that Negroes should have at least 30%

of the jobs in any particular company, and jobs in all

categories rather than only in menial areas.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our

enemies, but the silence of our friends..... Our lives

begin to end the day we become silent about things that

matter. …..And there comes a time when one must take

a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular

but one must take it because it is right."….

Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere

ignorance and conscientious stupidity...

The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who

remain neutral in times of great moral conflict …..We

may have all come on different ships, but we're in the

same boat now.

CSJ: People like Paul McKinney, Nat Thompson,

Revin Fellow and even the late Harold Lucas and Mark

Allen, uses the “N” word. Even Grady Norwood on the

westside. Many use it in almost every sentence. And then

there is a store in Africa use the name for their store; and

Taiwan using it with your name.

How do you address the word that once was considered a

hatred word and now it is developing a new meaning of

acceptance. What is the physic of the word?

King: Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the

personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a

man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to

describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful,

and to confuse the true with the false and the false with

the true.

As long as the mind is enslaved, the body can never be

free. Psychological freedom, a firm sense of self-esteem, is

the most powerful weapon against the long night of physical

slavery. …… And, with a spirit straining toward true

self-esteem, the Negro must boldly throw off the manacles

of self-abnegation and say to himself and to the world, "I

am somebody. I am a person. I am a man with dignity

and honor. I have a rich and noble history.

CSJ: You have noble people in Chicago that have

worked with you such as former Alder Dorothy Tillman,

Rev. Al Samson, the late Tim Black and of course Rev.

Jesse Jackson Sr. But for the most part there will be no

other like you. So what can others do?

King: You don't have to have a college degree to

serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb

agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and

Aristotle to serve. You don't have to know Einstein's theory

of relativity to serve. You don't have to know the second

theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You

only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.

And you can be that servant.

CSJ: So in view of the Black Billionaires and millionaires,

should there be a strive to gain in line with

the capital system we have in place?

King: I understand that you have an economic system

in America known as Capitalism. Through this economic

system you have been able to do wonders. You have become

the richest nation in the world, and you have built

up the greatest system of production that history has ever

known. All of this is marvelous, but Americans, there is

the danger that you will misuse your Capitalism. I still

contend that money can be the root of all evil. It can cause

one to live a life of gross materialism. I am afraid that

many among you are more concerned about making a

living than making a life.

CSJ: In the wake of an explosive "60 Minutes" story

highlighting UFO sightings by U.S. Navy pilots, former

President Barack Obama opened up about the existence

of UFOs and alien life in an interview with James

Corden. "When it comes to aliens, there are some

things I just can't tell you on air," Obama said jokingly.

King: Recently, the press has been filled with reports

of sightings of flying saucers. While we need not

give credence to these stories, they allow our imagination

to speculate on how visitors from outer space

would judge us. I am afraid they would be stupefied at

our conduct. They would observe that for death planning

we spend billions to create engines and strategies

for war. They would also observe that we spend millions

to prevent death by disease and other causes. Finally

they would observe that we spend paltry sums for

population planning, even though its spontaneous

growth is an urgent threat to life on our planet. Our

visitors from outer space could be forgiven if they reported

home that our planet is inhabited by a race of

insane men whose future is bleak and uncertain.

CSJ: I must ask you this. It is somewhat odd. But you

died as a young man. Do you regret it?

King: I never will forget one night very late night. It

was around midnight... the telephone started ringing

and I picked it up.

On the other end was an ugly voice. That voice said

to me, in substance, "Nigger, we are tired of you and

your mess now. And if you aren't out of this town in

three days, we're going to blow your brains out and

blow up your house." I’d heard these things before,

but for some reason that night it got to me. ...But if

physical death is the price that a man must pay to free

his children and his white brethren from a permanent

death of the spirit, then nothing could be more redemptive.

This is the type of soul force that I am convinced

will triumph over the physical force of the oppressor.

CSJ: I recall the day you were killed. While I was a

paperboy on 47th and Prairie, one night delivering papers

on the southside of Chicago I looked to the north west and

notice an orange glow over the horizon of the westside.

There was a riot going on. As I got home, I ask my mother,

‘What is going on?’ Whatever her answer was, my

thoughts were, when I grow up, I will not have to deal

with all this racism because all the racist white people will

be dead. But yet, still today the same issues.

King: I know you are asking today, "How long will it

take?" Somebody's asking, "How long will prejudice

blind the visions of men, darken their understand ing,

and drive bright-eyed wisdom from her sacred throne?"

Somebody's asking, "When will wounded justice, lying

prostrate on the streets of Selma and Birmingham and

communities all over the South, be lifted from this dust of

shame to reign supreme among the children of men?"

Somebody's asking, "When will the radiant star of

hope be plunged against the nocturnal bosom of this lonely

night, plucked from weary souls with chains of fear and

the manacles of death? How long will justice be crucified,

and truth bear it?" I come to say to you this afternoon,

however difficult the moment, however frustrating the

hour, it will not be long, because "truth crushed to earth

will rise again." How long? Not long, because "no lie can

live forever." How long? Not long, because "you shall

reap what you sow."

How long? Not long, because the arc of the moral universe

is long, but it bends toward justice.

CSJ: There is so much more to ask you. And now in

the mist of a president such as Donald Trump, not just

concern for the United States

but for the world.

King: When evil men plot,

good men must plan. When evil

men burn and bomb, good men

must build and bind. When evil

men shout ugly words of hatred,

good men must commit themselves

to the glories of love.

...“We’ve got some difficult days ahead,” Martin Luther

King, Jr., told an overflowing crowd in Memphis, Tennessee,

on 3 April 1968, where the city’s sanitation workers

were striking. “But it really doesn’t matter with me now,

because I’ve been to the mountaintop … I’ve seen the

Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want

you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the

Promised Land”

Less than 24 hours after these prophetic words, King

was assassinated by James Earl Ray.

CSJ: Thank you Dr. King for your time again.

75th and King Drive to do more than just

shop—they descended upon this historic

75th street movement. The Spend in the

Black event, spearheaded by Rev.

Dr. Charlie Dates and Ald. William

Hall (6th), to surge consumers to spend

their money with the viable Black businesses

that already exist in the city

for Bullseye: Spend in the Black.

The overall project to transform the

city’s Black business corridors in the spirit

of the Black Wall Street of Tulsa, OK.,

and even the once Chicago Black Wall

Street of the Bronzeville community.

This initiative of the ‘Spend in the

Black’ was part of a growing national

movement among faith leaders who are

using their platforms to protest corporate

retreats from DEI commitments, and to

redirect collective economic power into

local communities.

To readdress the 75th Street Black Wall

Street District, Black Wall Street Chicago

(BWSC) met with Alder William Hall (6)

and staff to determine the next collaborative

steps with the Chatham

Initiative (GCI), Park Manor

Community Council (PMCC)

and the Chatham Business Association.

In 2008, 75th Street was

about 95 percent black owned

businesses, today it is about 65

percent, with half of the strip

east of Vernon is vacant store

fronts. It has been designated

and targeted as the Black Wall

Street-Chicago Business District

area headed by then State

Senator Donne Trotter.

Ald. Hall recognize the potential

to recreate the positive aspects

of the historic Black Wall

Street District-on 75th Street

stated he is maintaining the Black Wall

Street mission to sustain and increase

Black businesses by introducing a resolution

in the city council as it was done in

the Illinois House and State lead by Ron

Carter, Chair of Black Wall Street Chicago.

Dalene Tribue, president of the PMCC

stated that 75th Street Black Wall Street

aims to honor this legacy by fostering

economic empowerment and entrepreneurship

within the African American

community in Chicago inspired by the

historic Greenwood District in Tulsa,

Oklahoma, famously known as "Black

Wall Street." It serves as a hub for Blackowned

businesses, promoting economic

growth and cultural pride.

In retrospect, Black Americans continue

to face expansive and persistent barriers

to economic prosperity and wealthbuilding.

According to the Black Economic

Alliance (BEA) Foundation, it

continued to report, since the 1980s, the

wealth gap has increased, with Black people

expected to fall further behind economically

in the coming years without

significant private, public, and social sector

intervention.

“This is the single greatest concentration

of Black businesses in a single corridor

on a single day,” Rev. Dr. Dates

told The Chicago Defender. “If you love

people and you care about those on the

margins, come here today and spend

some money that will go a long way.”

Similar faith-led economic revivals are

unfolding across the country, with leaders

in Atlanta, Houston and New York organizing

their own versions of “Spend in the

Black.”

Also participating were Desiree Rogers,

CEO Black Opal; Karen Freeman-

Wilson, CEO Chicago Urban

League; Steve Davis, CEO The Will

Group; Charles Smith, Chair, Black Leadership

Council; Bill Cooper, president

of Inline Designs Office Solutions, and

additional leaders.

That message was underscored by

Mayor Brandon Johnson,

who joined Hall, Dates, and

a slate of city and county

leaders, including Cook

County Board President Toni

Preckwinkle, for opening

remarks.

In Chicago, 75th Street business

strip is about the only

one in the nation with most

of the businesses are Black

owned. The stretch between

State Street and Cottage

Grove is a one-stop location

for consumers needing a dry

cleaner, food, shoe repairs,

health and wellness items,

childcare, copy and print

services, beauty and barber

shops, art and more.

The legacy businesses like Soul Veg, a

second-generation family restaurant,

Lem’s Bar-B-Q, a third-generation family

business with committed patrons who

travel from over a 25-mile radius just to

taste its savory dishes. Brown Sugar Bakery

and The Woodshop located on East

75th Street has been 49 years — is to

create more economic opportunities for

Black communities across the city.

“We passed a $1.25 billion bond investment

to grow businesses and to build

more affordable housing,”

Mayor Johnson said. “It is the largest

investment in the history of Chicago…

Let it be known that on this day, 75th and

King Drive was the kickoff to what will

be generational wealth for generations to

come.”

The 75th Street is the boarder of Grand

Crossing and Chatham. It has been destinated

a "boardwalk," along the stretch of

75th Street between Indiana and Calumet

Saturday, August 29, 2009, Black Wall Street-Chicago held a Ribbon Cutting

to designate 75th Street east a Black Wall Street Chicago District.

the State Street Food Coop (SSFC) with

for the Bronzeville community on 39th

bring all the elected officials together to

support a store targeted to Dearborn residents.

The meeting never happened. His

representative said later the Commissioner’s

district is not part of Dearborn

Homes.

Meetings were held with Congressman

Danny Davis who submitted a letter of

support for Dearborn Homes store. State

Senator Mattie Hunter and Rep. Sonja

Harper pledge their support along with

Mayor Johnson. A draft proposal for the

store was submitted to the City’s Department

of Planning, as Deputy Commissioner

Jim Harbin commented of the draft

as “Excellent.”

With added hope as the mayor announced

the partnership with the Economic

Security Project to build city

equity and accessibility for all Chicagoans,”

according to a press release.

SSFC in communications with IT the

school once proposed their vacant property

of their property at 2900 State to sell or

even granting it for a store. IT later proposed

that the SSFC submit an offer at

the Bronzeville real estate market.

Ald. Dowell in a letter to SSFC indicated

she would support the store with all

the resources of the city as she noted she

did for Marios two locations. She stressing

upon SSFC to “Get site control” for a

store. Later at a Local Advisory Council

meeting of Dearborn Homes she discouraged

residents not to sign a petition for

the store.

The petition online of over 1,680 supporters

is a carry-over

from former Mayor Lori

E. Lightfoot. Then later

presented to Mayor

Johnson. Carolyn Wallace

president of Dearborn

of the residents not to

Prior at another

meeting Dowell stated

she talk to IT President

Ald. Pat Dowell for it to really happen.

by President Echambadi: “we must

dedicate ourselves to fostering a culture

of purpose-driven citizenship in service

Residents have said that IIT have at

times exacerbated those inequalities of

Bronzeville. Yet, all too often, educational

institutions also control the narrative

about their role in community, including

their expansion into diverse communities,

assertions of influence the business of the

A first-of-its-kind study commissioned

by the Chicago Community Trust found a

DA HOLE BOOK is Coming

Homewood, IL – October 18, 2024 – To honor the

life of Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins, Higgins’ mother,

Carmela Wallace, officially opened Homewood Brewing

Company (HBC), a vibrant, creative, and welcoming

space for community gathering, music, great food, and

great beer. Alongside Jarad’s brother Brian Wallace,

Head Chef Robert Lauderdale, and Homewood Mayor

Richard Hofeld, Carmela celebrated the opening of the

new brewery at 18225 Dixie Hwy, Homewood, IL.

At age 19, Jarad Higgins became “Juice WRLD,” a

rapper, singer and songwriter of soulful rap music who

saw a meteoric rise while speaking candidly about his

struggle with addiction and depression. Taken too soon,

Jarad’s creativity and his powerful

connection with fans now

serve as the inspiration behind

Homewood Brewing Company.

Filled with artistic tributes

to his spirit, the brewery stands

as both a celebration of Jarad’s

legacy and an opportunity to

give back to the Homewood

community that embraced his

mother, Carmela, as she raised

him.

“With Homewood Brewing

Company, I’m proud to both

honor the life, spirit, and creativity

of my son Jarad and to

give back to the community

that welcomed us with open

arms,” said Carmela Wallace.

“Our goal is to craft

quality products and experiences

that deliver joy and make

everyone’s day just a little bit

better. Beyond the great food and beer, we’re proud to

advance the mission of Live Free 999 and to carry on

Jarad’s legacy.”

Homewood Brewing Company is a proud benefactor

of Live Free 999, the foundation Carmela Wallace

founded in Jarad’s honor that focuses on addressing

mental health challenges and substance dependency.

Seeking to support Jarad’s legacy and the work of Live

Free 999, Homewood Brewing Company will donate a

percentage of proceeds from an always-on-tap benefit

beer to the foundation and host fundraisers. The brewery

also hopes to collaborate with other organizations to

bring community events to the space.

Inspired by his aunt’s Creole cooking he grew up

eating, Head Chef Robert Lauderdale oversees the food.

Homewood Brewing Company’s menu reflects a love

for upscale comfort food and from-scratch cooking. The

in-house smoker is the heart of the kitchen, infusing

homemade sausages, seasonal small plates, and hearty

entrées with a delicious smokiness. Behind Chef

Lauderdale is a dedicated team of culinary professionals

who bring their own expertise and creativity to ensure

each dish reflects the company’s commitment to quality

and flavor.

Brian Wallace, a passionate craft beer enthusiast and

seasoned homebrewer, leads the brewing efforts at

Homewood Brewing Company. His expert team blends

seasonal ingredients with meticulous attention to detail

and a profound understanding of traditional brewing

techniques. They have not only built a reliable, highquality

system to keep fan favorites flowing but also

developed a second system for small-batch, one-of-akind,

sometimes crazy brews.

“Bringing Homewood Brewing Company to life has

been an incredible journey for our

family. Jarad’s creativity and passion

inspired us, and through this

brewery, we’ve combined our

skills—whether it’s craft beer, food,

or music—to create something special,”

said Brian Wallace. “We

hope Homewood Brewing Company

becomes a gathering place where

people can connect, enjoy, and feel

some much-needed positivity.”

•Homewood Brewing Company

will be open six days a week and on

Monday.

The opening comes less than two

years after the groundbreaking in

December of 2022. Earlier this year,

Carmela Wallace, Live Free 999,

and Crisis Text Line launched

a powerful PSA on mental health

and substance dependency resources.

Playing on radio and TV

stations across the country, the PSA highlighted Carmela

and Jarad’s story, encouraging those in need to

reach out to the Live Free 999 and Crisis Text Line for

help.

Free 999, visit livefree999.org.

About Live Free 999

Live Free 999 is a nonprofit founded by Carmela

Wallace to honor her son Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins.

Live Free 999’s mission is to support programs that

provide preventative measures and positive avenues to

address mental health challenges and substance dependency.

Through financial grants and partnerships, Live

Free 999 bolsters organizations providing positive mental

health treatments and alternatives to drug use. Beyond

providing financial support, Live Free 999 aims to

continue the conversation around mental health and

addiction. Carmela Wallace continues to receive countless

messages from Jarad’s fans expressing that his music

has, and continues to, help them through depression

and anxiety. Live Free 999 seeks to carry on his legacy.

In a remarkable step forward for

Black-owned businesses, the Illinois

State Black Chamber of

Commerce (ILBCC) sent a pioneering

delegation on an advance

trade mission to Zimbabwe.

Taking of August, the mission

was designed to explore the wealth

of opportunities available for

Black entrepreneurs and enterprises

in Illinois. The delegation’s

journey, driven by a spiritual and

economic connection, marks the

beginning of a transformative relationship

between the Illinois business

community and Zimbabwe.

The seeds of this historic partnership

were first planted in May

2024, following outreach from the

Zimbabwean Ambassador and

Zim Expo.

This early interaction revealed

an immediate alignment between

both parties, resulting in a Memorandum

of Understanding (MOU)

being signed at ILBCC's 19th Annual

State Convention. The MOU

solidified the shared vision of

advancing the pan-African movement

and fostering economic ties

between Illinois' Black business

community and Zimbabwe.

The delegation was greeted with

warmth and respect. Zimbabwe, a

boundless

potential,

wasted no

time in highlighting

its

business prospects.

From traditional

sectors like agriculture,

healthcare, and

construction contracting

to specialized

fields such as mining

and natural resources,

the country presented a

tantalizing array of

opportunities for Illinois’

Black entrepreneurs.

Zimbabwe is home

to the second-largest

platinum deposit and

some of the highest-grade chromium

ores in the world, along with a

staggering 2.8 billion tons of platinum

group metals and 10 billion

tons of chromium ore.

The delegation’s visit was a

testament to Zimbabwe’s eagerness

to share its economic riches

with the Black business community

in America, with a particular

focus on Illinois. With vast opportunities

available across various

sectors, now is the time for business

owners and entrepreneurs to

seize this moment. But the story

doesn't end here.

The United

States of

Africa.

A proposed Pan-African

concept of a federation

comprising some or all of

the continent's 54 sovereign

states, as well as two disputed

states. The idea of a

multinational unifying African

state has been compared

to various medieval

African empires, including

the Ethiopian Empire,

the Ghana Empire, the Mali

Empire, the Songhai Empire,

the Benin Empire, the

Kanem Empire, and other nationstates.

During the late 19th and early

20th centuries, the majority of

African land was controlled by

empires, primarily those of white

Europeans. The British controlled

around 30 percent of the

African population at its peak,

resulting from the Berlin Conference

of 1884. The term "United

States of Africa" was first mentioned

by Marcus Garvey in his

poem "Hail, the United States of

Africa" in 1924. Garvey's ideas and formation systems

had a profound influence on former African

leaders and the rebirth of the African Union.

This vision was further championed by Kwame N

krumah, the first President of Ghana, who believed t

hat African nations needed to unite politically and ec

onomically to achieve true independence and develo

pment.

Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi in

February 2009, upon being elected

chairman of the 53-nation African

Union in Ethiopia, told the assembled

African leaders: "I shall continue

to insist that our sovereign

countries work to achieve the United

States of Africa." The BBC reported

that Gaddafi had proposed "a single African

military force, a single currency, and a single passport

for Africans to move freely around the continent".

Other African leaders stated they

would study the proposal's implications and

re-discuss it in May 2009. The focus on developing

the United States of Africa so far

has been on building subdivisions of Africa;

the proposed East African Federation can be

seen as an example of this. Former Senegalese

President Abdoulaye Wade had indicated

that the United States of Africa could exist as

early as 2017. The African Union, by contrast,

has set itself the task of building a

"united and integrated" Africa by 2025.

Gaddafi had also indicated that the proposed

federation might extend as far west as

the Caribbean, with Haiti, Jamaica, the Dominican

Republic, the Bahamas, and other

islands featuring a large African diaspora

may be invited to join.

Gaddafi also received criticism for his involvement

in the movement and a lack of support

from other African leaders for the idea. A week before

Gaddafi's death during the Libyan Civil War,

South African President Jacob Zuma expressed relief

at the regime's downfall, complaining that Gaddafi

had been "intimidating" many African heads.

Gaddafi was ultimately killed during the Battle of

Sirte in October 2011. While some regard the project

as having died with him, Robert Mugabe has expressed

interest in reviving it. Following the 2017

Zimbabwean coup d'état, Mugabe resigned as President.

In September 2019, Mugabe died.

Joint pursuit: China, Africa

Ongoing Relationship

Close to 50 African presidents and heads of government attended the

Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing. With the exception

of eSwatini, remains committed to its alliance with Taiwan,

African states are all hoping to get a share of the $60 billion that president

Xi Jinping announced at the conference, which comes on top of

billions previously pledged.

China-Africa Cooperation

(FOCAC), Chinese President Xi

Jinping said China and Africa are

getting stronger and more resilient

together, and setting a stellar example

of a new type of international

relations.

China-Africa trade volume has

increased from $10.5 billion in

2000 to $282.1 billion in 2023, an

increase of nearly 26 times. As of

the end of 2023, China's direct

investment stock in Africa had

exceeded $40 billion.

Fifty-two African countries

and the African Union Commission

signed documents

with China on the Belt and Road

cooperation.

He added that China will send

2,000 medical personnel to Africa,

launch 20 programs on health facilities

and malaria treatment, and

send 500 agricultural experts to

strengthen health and agricultural

capacities in African countries.

A shared path toward modernization

China has assisted Africa in

development of lagging infrastructure,

food shortages, and talent

shortages while entering

Africa has also brought opportunities

for Chinese companies

expanding their overseas markets.

Chinese-invested Sapphire

Float Glass Factory serves the

The project is to generate up to

1,650 direct jobs and 6,000 indirect

jobs upon reaching full production

capacity. The factory has

created 1,012 direct jobs for residents

and 3,857 indirect jobs.

Over 200 Chinese enterprises are

investing in Africa's agricultural

sector, with a cumulative investment

stock exceeding $1 billion.

These investments span various

areas, including agricultural supplies

and machinery, farming,

processing and sales.

"On the path to modernization,

no one, and no country, should be

features diversity and inclusiveness,

is eco-friendly and is underpinned
