scenic walks that keep me in the Andrscogggin

area, where are some of your favorite places to

walk?

Dear Ready to walk,

Oh boy—my favorite topic, walks! Spring

is the perfect time to get out and explore the

Androscoggin area, and I’ve got a few favorite

sniffing spots to share. The Riverwalk in Lewiston/Auburn

is always a win—great views, lots of

friendly people, and plenty of interesting smells

(I like to take my time therefor research purposes).

Mt. Apatite is perfect if you’re feeling a little

more adventurous, with trails to wander and lots

of places to explore.

If you’re looking for something a bit more

relaxed, the Paper Mill Trail in Lisbon Falls is a

nice, easy stroll along the water, and Roberts

Farm Preserve in Norway has beautiful open

fields and wooded trails—plenty of room to roam

and maybe spot a squirrel or two. Bonney Park

and the paths near Lake Auburn are also great

for a quieter, peaceful walk.

No matter where you go, take it slow, enjoy

the fresh air, and don’t forget the most important

part of any walk- treats at the end!
