MAGAZINE
Runway Report: Valentino Pre-
Fall 2026 Ready-To-Wear Collection
D
ear Readers,
April arrives with a certain
lightness and ease that
invites renewal, reinvention,
and a fresh perspective on style. In
this issue, we embrace that spirit,
exploring fashion not just as what we
wear, but as how we evolve.
This month, we look at power
through a softer lens. In Fashion Tip
102, the idea of dressing with authority
is reimagined as less rigid, more
romantic, yet no less commanding.
It reflects a wider shift in fashion
today: one that allows strength to exist
alongside grace.
Our pages continue to celebrate
the global rise of African creativity.
From Lisa Folawiyo’s intricate
storytelling through textiles to Adebayo
Oke-Lawal’s fearless cultural narratives
with Orange Culture, there is a clear
message that African fashion is not
emerging; it is leading, defining,
and expanding the conversation
worldwide.
Beauty, too, takes on a luminous
direction this season. Gloss returns not
just as a trend, but as a statement of
vitality. Skin shines, textures glow, and
individuality is celebrated in its most
radiant form.
At the heart of this issue is our cover
star, Adeola Diiadema, a woman
shaping her own narrative of modern
luxury. Her story is one of intention,
8
influence, and self-defined
success, embodying the
energy of a new generation
that refuses to be boxed in.
We also step onto
the global runway with
Valentino’s Spring/Summer
2026 collection, where
timeless elegance meets
contemporary emotion, and
into the streets, where sneakers
continue to anchor style in
authenticity and culture.
April, in many ways, is
about shedding layers,
stepping forward, and
embracing new expressions
of self. This issue reflects that
journey, where fashion moves
with you, grows with you, and
tells your story as it unfolds.
Happy new month.

Fashion Tip 102:
How Romance-Inspired
Tailoring Is Redefining
Power Dressing
ByOmaDamian
By the 1970s, women were
becoming increasingly prominent
in the workforce. In his 1975 book
The Woman’s Dress for Success,
business consultant John T. Molloy
laid out rigid style rules for professional
women, suggesting they draw inspiration
from men’s suits but without copying them
exactly.
Certain styles were strictly discouraged:
Chinese-collared suits, soft cardigan
jackets, and any clothing that hinted at
creativity. This included dresses, slacks,
knits, skirts with slits, and bold colours,
all considered inappropriate for the
professional environment.
Here are things to try:
1. Power Dressing Gets a Softer, More
Feminine Makeover
Instead of the rigid, sharply structured
suits historically associated with authority,
designers are embracing softer silhouettes
and romantic elements such as flowing
fabrics, gentle draping, and relaxed
tailoring that still convey confidence and
poise without harsh angles. This signals
a broader shift in how fashion interprets
strength.
2. Romantic Details Become Tools of
Authority
Elements traditionally seen as “romantic”,
such as lace, chiffon, satin accents, or
Ribbon-style blouses are being integrated
into tailored pieces. These details soften
conventional power dressing while adding
visual depth and imaginative expression to
4
www.glamsquadmagazine.com
professional wardrobes and elevated street style.
FASHION
3. Soft Power Dressing Is About Presence, Not
Posture
The concept of soft power in fashion emphasises
ease, movement, and intention. Tailoring still
matters, but it’s fluid and wearable, with
oversized blazers with softened edges, shoulders,
and wide leg trousers, and with breathable
fabrics replacing stiff construction, suggesting
that authority can be expressed through comfort
as well as form.
4. Romance Meets Structural Design in New
Silhouettes
Runways have showcased looks that pair
structured pieces (like tailored coats or vests) with
romantic details (like delicate sleeves or lace
trim), blending control and softness in the same
outfit. This duality reflects a fashion moment
where strength and femininity coexist, breaking
down outdated norms of professional attire

RUNWAY REPORT
Valentino
Pre-Fall 2026
Ready-To-Wear
Collection
ByOmaDamian
The Valentino Pre-Fall 2026 Collection, presented by
creative director Alessandro Michele, represents a
thoughtful evolution in the Roman house’s ready-to-wear
offerings, balancing heritage codes with a refined sense of
restraint.
The lookbook and the collection it unveils read as a conscious
step away from the excess and flamboyance that have
occasionally blurred his vision. Despite being photographed
in a palazzo, the presentation is strikingly restrained: a smaller
cast, softened makeup, and styling that feels notably subdued
compared to the spectacle of past seasons.
The looks draw heavily from Valentino’s ’80s and ’90s heyday:
perfectly sculpted boxy shoulders anchoring sleek, colourblocked
minidresses; a pointed absence of prints and métissages
offset by an abundance of matelassé textures and velvet trims;
and a flirtation with prim, almost bourgeois daywear that is swiftly
subverted by Michele’s irrepressible mischief.
Lace lingerie provocatively surfaces beneath plush leather
bombers or slim shearling coats, their décolletés framed by
V-shaped fluffy collars. Miniskirts so abbreviated they verge on
belts, skimming built-in knickers, layered beneath razor-sharp
tailoring.

Adeola

The Face of Modern Luxury - Building
Beauty, Power and Influence on
her own Terms
By Martina Akonthe
Adeola Chizoba
Adeyemi, better
known as Diiadem,
is a Nigerian beauty
entrepreneur,
influencer and media personality.
She is one woman who
has turned passion into profit
while keeping her story real
and relatable. From beauty to
business, Adeola represents a
new kind of success driven by
confidence and consistency.
Modern Luxury, The Diiadem
Way
Modern luxury today is not just
about expensive things. It is
about freedom, quality and
owning your story. For Adeola
Diiadem, luxury means build-

ing a life that reflects her hard
work and values. Her success
shows that luxury can be
personal, earned and deeply
meaningful. It is safe to say
that she does not sell fantasy;
she sells confidence, comfort
and self-worth.
Model to Beauty Boss
Before becoming a beauty
entrepreneur, Adeola Diiadem
began her journey as a
model and video vixen. Those
early years exposed her to
the fashion and entertainment
world and helped her understand
beauty from a professional
angle. The seed of her
brand was planted when she
observed that many beauty
products created a gap
amongst women; they did not
truly cater to women of all skin
tones.
Beauty By AD, Built for Every
Woman
In 2016, Adeola’s seed began
to germinate when she
launched Beauty By AD, a
beauty brand focused on inclusive
and high-quality products.
The goal was simple.
Create makeup that works
for different skin tones without
losing quality or style. Today,
the brand has grown steadily
and now stands as one of the
notable beauty businesses
owned by a Nigerian woman
in the digital space.
Staying Relevant in Entertainment
Adeola’s relevance goes
beyond beauty products. She
is a strong digital creator with
a loyal online following. Her
content mixes beauty, lifestyle,
motherhood and honesty.
In 2025, she took her visibil-

appeared as a cast member
on The Real Housewives
of Lagos (RHOL) Season 3.
The show introduced her
to a wider audience and
showed another side of her
personality. Confident, vocal
and business-minded.
The Vision Before the Fame
Before luxury and fame,
Adeola Diiadem had a
clear vision. She wanted
independence, financial
stability and a brand she
could proudly call her own.
She noted that she was
driven by the desire not
depend on anyone and
to build something lasting.
Beauty was not just about
looks for her. It was a business
opportunity and a form
of expression.
Education and Finding Her
Niche
Adeola Diiadem had her
early education in Lagos
and later earned a degree
from Sikkim Manipal University
in Accra, Ghana.
After school, she explored
fashion, modelling and
beauty before fully settling
into her niche as a beauty
entrepreneur. Her education
helped shape her discipline
and approach to business,
especially in branding and
communication.
Family, Motherhood and
Private Life
As a single mother, Adeola
Diiadem often speaks
openly about how motherhood
changed her mindset.
She has described her
daughter, Akoredo, fondly
known as Koko, as her bigwww.glamsquadmagazine.com

She has also been
honest about her family
background and personal
struggles, including
growing up without her
mother. These experiences
shaped her strength
and emotional depth,
which many of her followers
relate to.
Casa Dee, A Dream
Built from Scratch
In late 2025, Adeola
unveiled her new home,
#CasaDee. What made
it special was not just the
house, but the journey.
She documented the
building process from
scratch, sharing both the
wins and the stress.
Casa Dee became
a symbol of patience,
growth and reward for
years of hard work.
Why Adeola Diiadem

Adeola Diiadem represents
the modern Nigerian
woman who builds her

without apology.

Rising Star
Lisa
Folawiyo
and Her Art of Luxury African
Storytelling on the Global Stage
By Adewumi Victoria
Lisa Folawiyo stands apart as a designer who
speaks from the soul of the continent. Lisa
Folawiyo stands apart as a designer who speaks
from the continent’s soul. Her work is not just
clothing, it is a language, a memory, and a
celebration of Nigerian culture told through texture,
colour, and craftsmanship. On the global stage, she is
not simply exporting fashion. She is sharing a deeply
personal, boldly African, and unmistakably luxurious
story.
Born into a family rooted in Nigerian heritage
and entrepreneurship, Folawiyo grew up surrounded
by fabrics, patterns, and a strong sense of identity.
The iconic Ankara print, often seen as everyday
wear, became her canvas. Where many saw
something traditional or ordinary, she saw limitless
possibility. Instead of abandoning African textiles for
European silks, she elevated them. Through intricate
embellishments, modern tailoring, and thoughtful
design, she transformed Ankara into a symbol of high
fashion.
What makes Lisa Folawiyo’s rise so compelling is
her ability to balance authenticity with innovation. Her
pieces feel familiar to those who understand Nigerian
culture, yet fresh and captivating to international
audiences. On runways from Lagos to Paris, her designs

tell stories of women who are
confident, elegant, and rooted
in their heritage. Every bead,
stitch, and pattern carries
meaning, whether inspired by
Yoruba artistry, urban Lagos
energy, or timeless femininity.
Her brand has become more
than a label. It is a movement
that redefines what African
luxury looks like. Instead of
mimicking Western aesthetics,
Folawiyo has created a visual
language that is distinctly her
own. Global buyers, stylists, and
fashion lovers now look to her
not as a novelty, but as a serious
creative force. Celebrities and
fashion influencers wear her
designs proudly, recognising
that they are not just beautiful
garments, but pieces of cultural
expression.
Behind the glamour, Folawiyo
remains deeply connected to
local artisans and craftsmen.
Her work supports Nigerian
creatives who hand-embellish
fabrics and bring her visions
to life. In doing so, she ensures
that African luxury is not just
seen, but also sustained within
the continent. This commitment
gives her brand depth and
integrity, qualities that resonate
strongly with today’s conscious
consumers.
As she continues to grow, Lisa
Folawiyo represents the future
of African fashion on the world
stage. She proves that rising
stars do not have to conform to
global trends to be celebrated.
They can lead, inspire, and
reshape the narrative entirely.
Through her art of storytelling,
she invites the world to see
Africa not as a trend but as
a timeless source of beauty,
creativity, and power.

The Creative Force Behind
Orange Culture’s Global
Fashion Moment
By Adewumi Victoria
Before the global spotlights and
international stockists, Adebayo Oke-
Lawal was simply a young Nigerian
creative who refused to design within
limits. In an industry long shaped by rigid
ideas of masculinity and tradition, he chose
softness. He chose colour. He chose vulnerability.
And in doing so, he built Orange Culture into
one of Africa’s most culturally significant fashion
houses.
From the beginning, his work was never just
about clothing. It was about identity, emotion
and the freedom to exist outside expectation.
That decision to design from the heart rather
than from fear is what has defined his career
and positioned Orange Culture on the global
stage.

Rewriting Masculinity
Through Fabric
Orange Culture’s DNA is
deeply rooted in storytelling.
Oke-Lawal consistently
explores themes of love,
gender fluidity, community
and emotional honesty. His
collections challenge the
conventional understanding
of what menswear should look
like, especially within African
contexts.
Soft tailoring, delicate prints,
romantic silhouettes and
fluid shapes have become
his signature. Instead of
presenting strength as rigidity,
he presents it as openness.
Instead of silence, he offers
dialogue. Each collection
feels like a letter, personal yet
universal.
In a society where
vulnerability in men is often
discouraged, Oke-Lawal’s
designs create space for
nuance. His garments do not
shout. They speak.
Orange Culture and the
Global Conversation
The global fashion industry has
increasingly turned its gaze
toward Africa, but few brands
have navigated that attention
with as much intentionality
as Orange Culture. Oke-
Lawal did not dilute his voice
for international validation.
Instead, he amplified his
authenticity.
From Lagos to London and
New York, Orange Culture has
appeared on major runways
and attracted global press
recognition. Yet the brand
remains deeply Nigerian in
spirit. Its prints, colour stories
and emotional narratives are
grounded in lived experience,
not trend forecasting.

FEATURE
This balance between
local authenticity and global
relevance is what has made
Orange Culture resonate beyond
borders. It is African fashion on its
own terms, not as an imitation of
Western aesthetics but as a fully
realised creative language.
The Business of Being Different
While creativity fuels Orange
Culture, strategic growth sustains
it. Oke-Lawal has carefully
expanded the brand without
losing its essence. Collaborations,
international partnerships and
thoughtful production models
have allowed Orange Culture
to scale while maintaining
authenticity.
In an industry that often
prioritises speed over meaning,
he has chosen intention. This
measured approach has
strengthened the brand’s
credibility both creatively
and commercially. It proves
that African fashion can be
both emotionally rich and
economically viable.
The Future of African Luxury
Adebayo Oke-Lawal
represents a new generation
of African designers who are
not asking for permission. They
are defining luxury through
perspective rather than price
point. They are shifting narratives
rather than following them.
Orange Culture’s global
moment is not accidental. It is
the result of courage, consistency
and a refusal to compromise
identity for acceptance.
As the world continues to
engage with African creativity,
Oke-Lawal stands as a reminder
that the most powerful fashion is
not merely seen. It is felt.

FASHION ESCAPE
Street Style Spotlight:
How Sneakers
Became the
Heart of Street
Fashion
By Adewumi Victoria
In the language of street fashion, few items speak louder than sneakers. What began
as simple athletic footwear has grown into one of the most powerful symbols of personal
expression in modern style. On city streets across the world, sneakers tell stories about culture,
creativity, community, and identity. They are no longer just shoes. They are statements.
From Sports Gear to Cultural Symbol
Sneakers were originally designed for performance. Brands created them to support athletes
on the basketball court, the running track, and the tennis court. But over time, something
interesting happened. Athletes, musicians, and young people began wearing them beyond
sports arenas. Sneakers moved from stadiums to sidewalks, and from training gear to
everyday fashion.
A major turning point came when basketball legends like Michael Jordan partnered
with brands such as Nike to create signature footwear. The launch of the Air Jordan 1 in
1985 changed the sneaker industry forever. For many young people, sneakers became
a way to connect with sports heroes and express admiration for them through fashion.
The Influence of Music and Youth Culture
Music culture also played a huge role in elevating sneakers into street fashion icons.
Hip hop artists in the 1980s and 1990s embraced sneakers as part of their everyday
style. Groups like Run-D.M.C. famously celebrated sneakers in their music and
performances, turning them into symbols of authenticity and urban pride.
As hip-hop culture spread globally, so did sneaker culture. Young people
everywhere adopted sneakers as part of their identity. They were comfortable, stylish,
and adaptable to different outfits, from baggy jeans to oversized jackets.
Sneakers as a Form of Self-Expression
Today, sneakers are one of the most expressive elements of street fashion. The
variety of designs, colours, and collaborations allows people to communicate their personality
through footwear. Some prefer classic white sneakers that create a clean, minimalist look.

FASHION
Others choose bold designs
that immediately capture
attention.
Limited edition releases,
designer collaborations,
and collectable models
have also made sneakers
cultural artefacts. For some
enthusiasts, collecting
sneakers is about more than
fashion. It is about preserving
moments in design, sports
history, and pop culture.
The Rise of Sneaker
Communities
Sneaker culture has also
created communities.
Around the world,
sneaker enthusiasts
gather online and
offline to discuss
releases, trade
pairs, and celebrate
their passion for footwear.
Social media has amplified
this culture, allowing people
to share styling ideas and
showcase rare finds.
In cities known for vibrant
street fashion scenes,
sneakers often serve as the
centrepiece of an outfit. The
right pair can transform a
simple look into a bold style
statement.
Street Fashion Meets High
Fashion
In recent years, luxury fashion
houses have embraced
sneakers in ways that once
seemed unlikely. Designers
who traditionally focused on
formal footwear now create
sneakers that appear on
runways and in high-end
collections. This shift shows
how deeply street fashion has
influenced the global fashion
industry.
The once clear line
between sportswear and
luxury fashion has blurred.
Sneakers now appear in
editorial shoots, fashion
campaigns, and high-profile
collaborations, attracting
global attention.
More Than Just Shoes
At their core, sneakers
represent freedom. They
are practical, comfortable,
and versatile, making them
accessible to people across
different backgrounds and
cultures. Yet they also hold
meaning. Each pair can
reflect a moment in music,
sports, design, or personal
style.
On the streets, sneakers
are not simply worn. They
live in. They move through
daily life with their owners,
absorbing stories and
experiences along the way.
As street fashion continues
to evolve, one thing remains
clear. Sneakers will always be
more than footwear. They are
a symbol of identity, creativity,
and the ever-changing
rhythm of urban culture.

The
Return of Glossy
Skin and High-Shine
Beauty for
2026
By Oma Damian
40
www.glamsquadmagazine.com
BEAUTY
As the skincare space grows more
saturated, longevity is taking centre
stage, prompting brands to align
with wellness rituals and healthdriven
ingredients. At one end of
the spectrum are “soft” finishes. After
years dominated by ultra-glowy skin and highshine,
glossy lips, makeup is shifting toward matte,
though not the flat, lifeless kind synonymous with
the late 2010s.
Diffused lips, long championed by K-beauty,
have taken on global appeal, while radiant,
luminous foundations are giving way to formulas
and techniques that deliver a more natural, softly
blurred finish.
According to The Zoe Report, Riddle, celebrity
makeup artist, and Ciele Cosmetics founder
Nikki DeRoest note that the soft-focus effect
is extending to the skin, creating what she
describes as a “faux-filter” finish. Speaking to
The Zoe Report, DeRoest explains that 2026 skin
is “breathable, natural, and alive.” She adds
that this marks a more refined evolution of the
no-makeup makeup look, one that moves away
from full coverage in favour of allowing the skin to
move, glow, and show through naturally.
Glossy looks are presented as modern and
wearable, not just dramatic sparkle for special
occasions, and high-shine elements are used
in everyday beauty, like soft gloss on lips or a
hydrated finish on skin, as part of contemporary
makeup trends.
