Türkiye launches incentives to boost

competitiveness and investment climate

PLMA drives Innovation

and inspiration

at the heart of the

world of ideas

AMSTERDAM – Bringing together

more than 32,000 trade professionals

from 125 countries and over 3,200

exhibiting companies across food and

non-food categories, the event confirms

its global reach and industry importance.

Amsterdam, 21 April 2026 - Reflecting

the evolving trends shaping today’s

private label market, the Idea Supermarket

at PLMA’s World of Private Label has

been reimagined as PLMA’s World of

Ideas. With a new look, a new location,

and a new name, the area emphasizes

its global character and establishes itself

as the central hub where new ideas in

private label come to life. Page 3

Private label

manufacturing

gains momentum in

Türkiye

Rising global demand for private-label

products is positioning Türkiye as a key

manufacturing hub, offering cost efficiency,

high quality, and flexible production

capabilities.

As global demand for private-label

products continues to rise, Türkiye has

emerged as a strong contender in the

manufacturing landscape. Turkish private-label

factories are increasingly attracting

international brands thanks to

their competitive pricing, high production

standards, and ability to adapt to

diverse market needs. Page 2

Türkiye outlined details of a broad package of

incentives that top officials say is aimed at boosting

competitiveness and attracting investment, and also

positioning its biggest city as a leading financial

gateway across the region.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan first floated the

comprehensive legislative package that includes a

cut in taxes, saying it aims to increase the country’s

competitiveness and overall economic appeal.

Turkish central bank keeps key

policy rate unchanged again

Türkiye’s central bank held

its benchmark interest rate

unchanged at 37%, maintaining

its cautious stance for the

second straight month amid

pricing pressures due to the

Middle East conflict.

In March, the Central Bank

of the Republic of Türkiye

(CBRT) halted an easing cycle,

citing market fallout from

the Iran war that it said could

affect inflation. Page 8

China slams EU’s ‘Made

in Europe’ proposal, vows

countermeasures

Beijing criticized the recently unveiled industrial policy of the

European Union aimed to bolster the bloc’s industries against

fierce competition from China, vowing countermeasures if it

is enacted. The EU unveiled in March new “Made in Europe”

rules for companies trying to access public funds in strategic

sectors, including cars, green tech and steel, obliging firms to

meet minimum thresholds for EU-made parts. Page 9

Describing the planned reforms as “not an ordinary

incentive package,” Treasury and Finance Minister

Mehmet Şimşek said the measures amount to a

comprehensive “tax architecture.”

“This is a full-spectrum structure covering goods,

services, capital, talent and activities,” he told a

press conference in Ankara. “Our priority is to

move Türkiye into the top league in terms of global

investment attractiveness.”

Mideast crisis could redraw

energy map in Türkiye’s favor

The crisis that has erupted amid the Middle East conflict

could ultimately produce opportunities for Türkiye and

make it a regional energy hub through new partnerships

and supply routes, a senior official said.

Energy prices have spiralled following U.S.-Israeli attacks

on Iran, which triggered a near-total closure of the Strait

of Hormuz, where 20% of the world’s oil normally flows.

Stalled shipments through the waterway have sent prices

skyrocketing far beyond the region and raised the cost of

food and a wide array of other products.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar

warned that the world is experiencing one of the

most severe energy crises in history, but said Türkiye is

not facing any immediate supply risks. Page 9

Şimşek said Türkiye was extending a tax exemption

on services exports to 100% to target high-value

sectors like software, gaming and medical tourism.

At the same time, it is reducing manufacturing

exporters’ corporate tax rate to 9% from the current

25% to boost competitiveness and attract foreign

direct investment (FDI), he said. Other exporters

would benefit from a reduced rate of 14%. Page 4

Iran war squeezes

Asia’s polyester

suppliers, garment

makers

The spike in energy prices since the

start of the war launched by the U.S.

and Israel against Iran is squeezing

polyester suppliers and garment makers

across key Asian producers such

as India and Bangladesh, threatening to

raise costs for fast-fashion retailers like

Zara and H&M. Page 10

Beauty Istanbul!

The dynamic nature of the cosmetics industry

is being reshaped once again this

season in Istanbul through a powerful

gathering. Beauty Istanbul Fair continues

to stand out as one of the key events that

set the rhythm of the sector by bringing

together global brands, manufacturers,

and buyers on a single platform.

Taking place at the Tüyap Fair and Congress

Center, the event goes beyond

being merely an exhibition space,

offering a business network where

international trade accelerates. Page 5

Türkiye, Jordan and Syria signed a trilateral

memorandum of understanding

on transport cooperation, aiming to

strengthen regional connectivity and

boost trade across a key North-South

corridor. Transport and Infrastructure

Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, speaking

after a meeting in Amman with his

Jordanian counterpart Nidal Qatamin

and Syrian Transport Minister Yarub

Badr, said the initiative reflects a shared

commitment to regional development

and prosperity. Page 3

the stage in Miami

The effective closure of the Strait of

Hormuz following attacks by the U.S.

and Israel on Iran has disrupted global

energy supplies and increased interest in

alternative export routes.

And many see Türkiye emerging as one of

the key options due to its multiple pipeline

and transit links.

While the Strait of Hormuz has not

been formally declared closed, Iranian

authorities have imposed tight controls

and restrictions on maritime traffic and oil

shipments. Page 4

Türkiye says war

shock manageable,

won’t derail economic

program

Treasury and Finance Minister

Mehmet Şimşek said the economic

impact of the Middle East conflict

would be negative but manageable,

stressing that Türkiye’s disinflationfocused

program had already proven

its resilience against external shocks.

Şimşek described the conflict as a

“major shock” and warned that wars

tend to have longer-lasting and deeper

economic consequences than other

types of crises. Page 6

Beijing’s stringent export controls on

rare earths are driving a fundamental

shift in how European firms think

about their operations in China, a business

lobby warned.

China dominates the global industry

for rare earths, which are critical

for making a wide range of products

from everyday consumer electronics to

equipment used in the defence sector.

The country’s leaders leveraged that

strength in spectacular fashion last

year, reaching a deal with Washington

in October to pause a blistering trade

war after Beijing’s curbs on their exports

sent shockwaves across supply

chains. Page 4

2026

This month, we will promote Turkish exporters by actively

participating in major international trade fairs

such as Beauty Istanbul 2026 and PLMA Amsterdam

2026.

As Türkiye continues to position itself as a competitive and reliable

manufacturing hub, international exhibitions play a crucial

role in strengthening its export capacity. Beauty Istanbul, as one

of the most dynamic gatherings in the cosmetics and personal

care industry, offers an ideal platform to present the innovation,

quality, and diversity of Turkish beauty products. Similarly, PLMA

Amsterdam, a globally respected event dedicated to private label

manufacturing, provides access to a wide network of international

retailers and sourcing professionals.

Through our participation in these prestigious fairs, we aim to

showcase the strengths of Turkish exporters across various sectors,

including cosmetics, personal care, packaging, and fast-moving

consumer goods. Turkish companies stand out not only for

their high production standards and flexibility, but also for their

ability to adapt to changing global trends such as sustainability,

eco-friendly packaging, and clean-label products.

These events will allow us to engage directly with importers, distributors,

and decision-makers from different regions, providing

new business opportunities and reinforcing existing partnerships.

Face-to-face interactions remain essential in building trust and understanding

market expectations, especially in highly competitive

international markets.

Furthermore, our presence at these fairs will emphasize Türkiye’s

strategic geographic location, strong logistics infrastructure, and

well-established supply chain capabilities, which collectively make

the country an attractive partner for global sourcing.

Ultimately, our objective is to enhance the international visibility

of Turkish exporters, support their expansion into new markets,

and contribute to the sustainable growth of Türkiye’s export performance.

By leveraging the global exposure offered by Beauty

Istanbul and PLMA Amsterdam, we aim to position Turkish brands

and manufacturers as key players in the international marketplace.

THOUGHT OF THE MONTH

Economics is the only field in which two

people can get a Nobel Prize for saying

exactly the opposite thing.

There are two types of economists:

- those who cannot forecast interest rates, and

- those who do not know that they cannot forecast interest rates.

Heard at the Wharton School.

Man walking along a road in the countryside comes across a

shepherd and a huge flock of sheep. Tells the shepherd, “I will bet

you $100 against one of your sheep that I can tell you the exact

number in this flock.” The shepherd thinks it over; it’s a big flock so

he takes the bet. “973,” says the man. The shepherd is astonished,

because that is exactly right. Says “OK, I’m a man of my word, take

an animal.” Man picks one up and begins to walk away.

“Wait,” cries the shepherd, “Let me have a chance to get even.

Double or nothing that I can guess your exact occupation.” Man

says sure. “You are an economist for a government think tank,” says

the shepherd. “Amazing!” responds the man, “You are exactly right!

But tell me, how did you deduce that?”

“Well,” says the shepherd, “put down my dog and I will tell you.”

A mathematician, an accountant and an economist apply for the

same job.

The interviewer calls in the mathematician and asks “What do two

plus two equal?” The mathematician replies “Four.” The interviewer

asks “Four, exactly?” The mathematician looks at the interviewer

incredulously and says “Yes, four, exactly.”

Then the interviewer calls in the accountant and asks the same

question “What do two plus two equal?” The accountant says “On

average, four - give or take ten percent, but on average, four.”

Then the interviewer calls in the economist and poses the same

question “What do two plus two equal?” The economist gets up,

locks the door, closes the shade, sits down next to the interviewer

and says “What do you want it to equal?”

Private label manufacturing gains

momentum in Türkiye

Key competitive advantages

Turkish private-label manufacturers stand out in

several critical areas:

• Cost efficiency: Compared to many global

manufacturing hubs, Türkiye offers competitive

labor and raw material costs. This allows companies

to produce high-quality goods while maintaining

attractive profit margins.

• Expertise and flexibility: With experience across

sectors such as textiles, apparel, electronics,

and home goods, Turkish factories can meet a

wide range of production requirements. Their

flexibility enables them to handle both small and

large-scale orders efficiently.

• Quality standards: Many manufacturers operate

under internationally recognized certifications,

including ISO standards, and maintain rigorous

quality control processes. This ensures consistency

and builds trust among global buyers.

Continued From Page 1

The continued growth of private-label manufacturing

in Türkiye reflects a broader shift in global

production dynamics. With its balance of cost

competitiveness, quality assurance, and production

flexibility, Türkiye is solidifying its role as a

trusted partner for brands looking to expand and

scale in international markets.

The rise of private-label brands

In recent years, more companies have turned to

private-label strategies to strengthen their market

position. By developing their own brands, businesses

can differentiate their offerings, build customer

loyalty, and maintain greater control over

pricing and product identity. For consumers, private-label

products often combine affordability

with unique design and branding, making them

an appealing alternative to established labels.

Customization and branding opportunities

One of the defining strengths of Turkish private-label

factories is their ability to offer tailored

solutions. Businesses can collaborate closely with

manufacturers to develop customized products,

packaging, and branding strategies aligned with

their target markets. This level of personalization

supports stronger brand identity and market differentiation.

Gateway to global markets

Partnering with Turkish manufacturers also facilitates

access to international markets. Türkiye’s

established trade networks and ability to comply

with various regulatory standards make it easier

for companies to export products worldwide.

Türkiye’s manufacturing strength

Türkiye’s long-standing manufacturing tradition,

combined with its strategic location bridging

Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, gives it

a distinct advantage. The country benefits from

a skilled workforce, modern infrastructure, and a

diverse industrial base, making it an ideal destination

for companies seeking reliable production

partners.

PLMA drives Innovation and inspiration at the heart of the world of ideas

Continued From Page 1

From leading product innovations

presented by exhibitors to products

launched in retail stores around the

globe, including award-winning private

label products, visitors can explore the

full spectrum of private label development

to get inspired, stay driven, and

remain ahead in today’s competitive

market.

Within this broader context of innovation

and trend development at the World

of Ideas, the New Product Expo area

offers a glimpse into what lies ahead.

Showcasing nearly 300 products new to

private label and offered by exhibitors, it

shows interesting product developments

like, the growing presence of trendy

matcha. Once considered a niche ingredient,

matcha now appears across a

wide range of categories, from yoghurts,

sweets, beverages, and snacks to beauty

and personal care products. In the Retail

Trends area, the latest developments in

packaging innovation and Gen Z trends,

are on display, as seen on the shelves of

60 retailers worldwide.

Located in the RAI Auditorium Lounge

at the heart of the show, the World of

Ideas features a clear layout, improved

visitor flow, and multiple access points

for an enhanced experience. “Witnessing

the ongoing growth of international

participation and the shared desire for

a more dynamic focus, PLMA wants to

emphasize the area’s global character

and establish it as the show’s center for

private label innovation. I believe the

name World of Ideas captures it perfectly,”

stated Jan van Lier, Managing Director

Trade Shows at PLMA International

Council.

PLMA’s World of Private Label International

Trade Show, taking place on 19–20

May at the RAI Amsterdam Convention

Centre, provides the ideal setting for

discovering what’s new in trending in

private label. On the food side, convenience

foods and ready meals are on the

rise, with strong traction for organic,

vegan, gluten free, and lactose free products.

On the non-food side, lotions, gels,

moisturizers, and cosmetics are seeing

similar growth, highlighting the expanding

focus on wellness and personal care.

The fact that some 30% of the show

floor is dedicated to exhibitors of organic,

vegan and plant-based products is a

testimony to the shift towards the more

sustainable food approach that is driving

growth in these sectors. Consumers are

increasingly seeking products that are

ethical, healthy, and environmentally

conscious, with plant-based and organic

highlighting the broader benefits of

healthy sustainable eating. Illustrating

these trends are specific organic and

plant-based pavilions, such as those organized

by Food from Denmark, Consorzio

Il Biologico from Italy, and PIZE,

the Polish Chamber of Organic Food.

In addition to these pavilions, there are

hundreds of other exhibitors offering

organic and plant-based products also.

In this context, it is only natural that

the Dutch initiative De BioBorrel asked

PLMA to organize their ‘Organic Happy

Hour’ networking event at the conclusion

of the first show day, featuring

speaker Paul Holmbeck, an authority in

the field of organics.

Türkiye, Jordan, Syria sign trilateral

transport deal to boost trade

Continued From Page 1

“This is not merely a technical meeting

on transport, but a strong declaration of

will for the welfare of our peoples and regional

development,” Uraloğlu said, emphasizing

the importance of political and

economic stability supported by efficient

logistics.

He noted that activating the Türkiye-Syria-Jordan

axis at full capacity would significantly

increase export potential and

transit revenues for all three countries,

producing a multiplier effect for regional

economies.

Uraloğlu highlighted the strategic importance

of establishing a fully functional

North-South transport corridor,

supported by modernized road and rail

infrastructure. He also underscored the

need to reduce transit fees, taxes and

additional costs to facilitate smoother

cross-border transportation.

The minister said that the trilateral mechanism

would help remove barriers facing

transport operators, expand opportunities

in rail transport and revitalize ports,

ultimately contributing to sustainable

trade growth.

Referring to historical ties, Uraloğlu

highlighted the symbolic and practical

importance of reviving the Hejaz Railway

– originally built by Ottoman Sultan

Abdulhamid II and inaugurated in

1908 to link Istanbul with Mecca, Medina,

Yemen and Damascus – in line with

modern standards, while also prioritizing

the development of new rail connections

among the three countries.

He further pointed to the integration

of maritime routes, noting that Türkiye

and Syria’s Mediterranean port capacity,

combined with Jordan’s strategic access

to the Red Sea via the Gulf of Aqaba,

should be evaluated as a unified logistics

network.

“Aqaba Port can serve as a land-sea

bridge, transporting goods arriving from

the north to the Red Sea and beyond,” he

said.

Uraloğlu added that technical delegations

are expected to visit Saudi Arabia as

part of broader efforts to extend connectivity

across the Arabian Peninsula and

link it to Central Asia and Europe.

Türkiye launches incentives to boost competitiveness and investment climate

Continued From Page 1

The tax reductions are long-term and

“here to stay,” he said.

According to the government, anyone

who has not been a tax resident in

Türkiye for the past three years will not

have to pay tax on income earned abroad

for 20 years after moving back.

With these measures, Erdoğan said,

Türkiye is demonstrating that it is a stable

country in a region affected by war.

The government also intends to help

repatriate money, gold and securities

held abroad to Türkiye within a specified

period at a low tax rate.

“We are working to make the financial

markets deeper and stronger by

reintegrating Turkish capital located

abroad back into the country,” said

Şimşek.

The legislative package is to be presented

to Parliament shortly, according to

Erdoğan.

The measures come at a time when the

U.S.-Israeli war with Iran rattles Gulf

states, prompting some companies and

banks there to consider other options.

Asked about this, Şimşek said the package

was not meant to take advantage of war

fallout and was in the works long before.

Some of the incentives, including zero

corporate income tax on transit trade,

are focused on the companies located

in the Istanbul Financial Center (IFC),

a state-backed clutch of glassy towers on

the city’s Asian side.

The rate is 95% for those located outside

the IFC, Şimşek said, noting it was set at

50% in years past.

Speaking at the same event, Vice

President Cevdet Yılmaz said the package

is designed to provide a “clear and reliable

framework” for investors seeking stability

in an uncertain global environment.

Yılmaz added that companies establishing

regional headquarters in Türkiye would

benefit from substantial tax exemptions

and also said a centralized mechanism

would be introduced to accelerate largescale

foreign investments and streamline

administrative processes.

The package aims to “export more

goods and services, attract more talent,

entrepreneurs, capital, a new home that’s

more encouraging local citizens to use

Türkiye as a center of their activities

and... placing IFC as one of the key

regional hubs,” Şimşek said.

This month, the IFC’s CEO Ahmet Ihsan

Erdem told that the Iran war prompted

dozens of companies with operations in

the Gulf to consider moving business

there.

The exporter incentives include what

Şimşek called a “radical step” toward

reducing the corporate tax rate.

Türkiye has strong human capital

and infrastructure, offering robust

incentives for comprehensive industrial

initiatives, said Treasury and Finance

Minister Mehmet Şimşek.

Speaking at a reception marking the

20th anniversary of the Presidential

Investment and Finance Office at the

Turkish Embassy residence in London,

Şimşek said these strengths will help

Türkiye move up the global value chain.

“We are part of the Middle Corridor and

are investing in regional connectivity,” he

noted.

He added that the war in the Middle East

is prompting a rethink of supply chains,

encouraging diversification and the new

trade corridors.

“At the same time, it will accelerate the

green and digital transformations, which

present significant opportunities. Our

focus is on this twin transformation,

and we are making good progress.

Defense industry is among our priorities,

but there is strong potential across all

sectors,” he said.

Acknowledging the difficult global

environment, Şimşek remarked, “The

war in the Middle East is like a dark

cloud. Yet from a broader perspective,

Türkiye is not only an island of stability

but also a strong production base and a

dynamic services hub.”

Şimşek noted that it is a challenging

period, saying: “In my view, Türkiye is

once again becoming a magnet for global

talent and capital.”

He underlined the government’s

commitment to its economic program:

“We will continue to implement our

program aimed at permanently reducing

inflation, ensuring sustainability in the

current account balance and enhancing

competitiveness, while also taking the

necessary steps for this transformation.”

Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, president of the

Investment and Finance Office, stated

that Türkiye has today become a regional

hub for production, management,

R&D, logistics and supply activities for

multinational companies.

“But this journey will not end here.

Within the framework of current

global and regional developments, we

believe Türkiye’s position will be further

strengthened and elevated to the level of

a global economic power. Of course, this

will not happen overnight, but we are

confident that in the coming decades we

will achieve this goal,” he said.

Continued From Page 1

But the approval procedures now in

place are still causing headaches for

many foreign firms seeking to move

supplies and products abroad, a

report published said.

“In many cases the licensing process

remains slow, unpredictable,

uncoordinated and lacks

transparency,” the European Union

Chamber of Commerce in China said.

The new restrictions amount to a

“major expansion of the country’s

export control toolbox”, the report

added.

“There is now a recognition that

China’s emerging export control

regime poses a long-term business

risk, given that the ability to export a

particular item could be taken away

at any point based on political rather

than security factors.”

Beyond simply adding to

administrative burdens, the curbs

have been forcing a deeper rethink

for many European firms, Chamber

president Jens Eskelund said.

Many companies from the continent

were “caught flat-footed” last year

when their operations encountered

EU firms rethink

China ops over

curbs

snags as a result of the China-U.S.

trade war, added Eskelund.

There has now been a “profound

mindset change” in which firms “can’t

just rely and say ‘my supplier’s got my

back’, I don’t need to worry,” he said.

Companies and countries are now

looking for ways to ensure “that they

have a plan B if something should

happen”, he added.

“I think it’s something that will, at a

certain point in time, translate into a

real measurable economic impact.”

Supply of rare earths is expected to be

a key discussion item at the upcoming

summit between US President Donald

Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi

Jinping.

The high-stakes meeting in

Beijing, originally scheduled to begin

on March 31, has now been pushed

to mid-May while Trump handles

fallout from the U.S.-Iran war.

Even if the sides manage to reach

a deal on the critical minerals,

Eskelund says he thinks China’s use

of export curbs as a means of solving

international disputes is here to stay.

Only ships from selected countries are

reportedly being allowed to pass freely,

while other vessels face conditional

access.

The Strait of Hormuz handles around

20% of global oil trade, and disruptions

have put roughly 15 million barrels per

day of crude oil flows at risk.

Tanker movements in the area have

slowed dramatically, with some days

seeing almost no traffic and overall

transit falling by more than 90%.

Rising insurance costs and security

concerns have added further pressure on

shipments.

Oil prices have climbed from around $70

per barrel to as high as $120, marking an

increase of roughly 70%, while Europe’s

benchmark TTF gas contracts have risen

from around 30 euros ($35) to between

60 and 70 euros.

Although the International Energy

Agency (IEA) has moved to release 400

million barrels of emergency oil stocks

to ease market pressure, concerns over

a broader regional war continue to drive

volatility.

Alternative routes through Saudi Arabia

and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

remain available, but their combined

spare capacity is limited.

According to International Energy

Agency data, about 20 million barrels

per day passed through Hormuz in 2025,

while alternative pipelines through Saudi

Arabia and the UAE can only provide

between 3.5 million and 5.5 million

barrels per day of additional capacity.

The UAE exports around 1.1 million

barrels per day through the Abu Dhabi-

Fujairah pipeline and has roughly

700,000 barrels per day of spare capacity.

Saudi Arabia’s East-West crude oil

pipeline has a design capacity of around

5 million barrels per day, though only

3 million to 5 million barrels per day of

additional space is available after current

Türkiye-Alternative energy

corridor amid Hormuz impasse

usage.

Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar

recently highlighted the potential role

of the Iraq-Türkiye Crude Oil Pipeline,

which stretches from Kirkuk to Ceyhan.

Bayraktar said the pipeline has a capacity

of 1.5 million barrels per day and could

be used more intensively to transport

Iraqi crude to the Mediterranean.

He also pointed to the possibility of

transporting gas from Qatar to Türkiye

and potentially onward to Europe

through pipelines, especially at a time

when LNG exports face risks from

damaged infrastructure and Hormuzrelated

disruptions.

Türkiye has also been discussed as

a possible destination for future oil

pipelines terminating in Hatay as part of

longer-term diversification efforts.

While some alternatives exist for crude

oil, experts say the LNG market remains

far more vulnerable because Hormuz

remains a critical route for global

liquefied natural gas shipments.

Türkiye is also strengthening its role in

natural gas transit to Europe.

Flows through the TurkStream pipeline

rose 22% year-over-year in March to 55

million cubic meters per day.

Exports through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan

pipeline, which resumed on March 17, are

expected to rise from an initial 170,000

barrels per day to 250,000 barrels per day.

Claudia Kemfert, head of the Energy,

Transportation and Environment

Department at the German Institute for

Economic Research, said a prolonged

disruption in Hormuz would keep oil

and LNG prices elevated and increase

dependence on strategic reserves.

Kemfert said existing alternative

pipelines, particularly those in Saudi

Arabia and the UAE, do not have enough

capacity to offset a major disruption,

leaving global markets structurally

vulnerable.

She said Türkiye could strengthen its

role as a transit corridor connecting the

Caspian region, the Middle East and

Europe in the medium term,

“However, current infrastructure

constraints limit the capacity to

compensate for large-scale disruptions in

the short term. Türkiye’s alternative role

may predominantly be at a strategic and

medium-term level,” Kemfert noted.

She also said prolonged instability in

Hormuz is likely to accelerate a shift

away from Gulf dependence and benefit

LNG exporters such as the U.S., as well as

pipeline gas suppliers, including Norway

and North African producers.

Ashley Joy Hair Protector Spray ushers in a new era of

“Waterproof” smoothness with a glow effect for hair

Ashley Joy, an innovative personal care and beauty

brand that draws inspiration from nature and

has firmly established itself at the center of both

the Turkish and international beauty scenes, introduces

its new hero product: Hair Protector

Spray. Offering a professional barrier against

all kinds of external factors, from rainy winter

days when hair struggles most to keep its style to

high-humidity summer days, it adds a high-performance

touch to hair care routines.

Offering a solution, especially in changing weather

conditions, high humidity, and rainy days

when hair gets wet and loses its shape, the new

Ashley Joy Hair Protector Spray helps prevent

water and moisture from penetrating the hair

by sealing each strand with a water-repellent

shield. Thanks to its special formula containing a

Keratin and Protein Complex, hair remains perfectly

under control even in rain, snow, or heavy

humidity. Promising effective protection in all

weather conditions, the effects of the new Ashley

Joy Hair Protector Spray are not limited to this;

it helps facilitate detangling, supporting the prevention

of mechanical breakage, preserves the vibrancy

of color-treated hair, gives hair a radiant,

shiny appearance with a glow effect, and forms a

complete thermal protection shield up to 230°C.

Waterproof Barrier Against Water and Moisture

for Hair The most distinctive and exciting feature

that sets Ashley Joy Hair Protector Spray apart

from other products in the hair care category is its

“waterproof ” barrier effect, which envelops each

individual hair strand, acting like a transparent

raincoat. Helping to isolate hair from the negative

effects of moisture, Ashley Joy Hair Protector

Spray supports the prevention of water and moisture

from penetrating the hair shaft, preserving

the hair’s style and smoothness throughout the

day even in the most challenging weather conditions;

it controls frizz and flyaways, and provides

a luminous finish by giving the hair a glow effect

with its special ingredients.

Protection from the Inside Out with Protein

Complex and Keratin Ashley Joy Hair Protector

Spray combines this high-performance protective

shield with powerful ingredients that fundamentally

support the hair’s natural structure.

The Protein Complex and Keratin at the heart of

the formula restore the needed strength to hair

strands; with regular use, they deeply repair hair

fibers and establish the ideal moisture balance.

These ingredients make the hair much more resilient

against damage caused by chemical processes

and environmental factors, while also

increasing the hair’s elasticity, imparting a silky

texture and eye-catching shine. While achieving

a healthy look from root to tip, it helps prevent

breakage caused by brushing and styling.

Heat Protection up to 230°C and Color Safety

Aspiring to become a new essential in beauty

routines, Ashley Joy Hair Protector Spray undertakes

complete protection not only against moisture

but also against high heat. Providing thermal

protection up to 230°C, the product helps prevent

damage caused by high heat and processes

such as blow-drying, curling, and straightening.

For color-treated hair, it helps maintain color

vibrancy as on the first day, delaying fading and

supporting hair to always look shiny as if freshly

dyed.

Türkiye says war shock manageable, won’t derail economic program

Continued From Page 1

He was speaking at the International

Economy Summit in the

Sapanca district of the northwestern

Sakarya province.

“Wars produce much more permanent

and larger consequences

than other shocks,” Şimşek said.

“We believe Türkiye is resilient.

We proved this last year, and we

will prove it again this year.”

That came as a major test for

countries that import most of

their energy needs, including

Türkiye.

Şimşek said the conflict had a

particularly strong impact on global

energy markets because of the

strategic importance of the Strait

of Hormuz, a key route for oil, natural

gas and fertilizer.

Opening the waterway at the

southern tip of the Gulf to free

hundreds of stranded tankers and

other vessels was a condition of

the cease-fire announced.

But the flow remains heavily

restricted, keeping futures prices

near $100 a barrel.

“We are aware of the magnitude

of this shock,” Şimşek said, adding

that even if the cease-fire

holds, both the global economy

and Türkiye will still suffer some

degree of damage.

Turkish authorities have taken

steps to cushion the fallout of the

war on domestic markets. Şimşek

said they were prepared for more

steps if the cease-fire does not

hold.

The Turkish central bank has already

halted its easing cycle at

37%, lifted its overnight rate by

about 300 basis points to near

40%, and sold and swapped tens

of billions of dollars in foreign exchange

and gold reserves to support

the Turkish lira.

Şimşek said the conflict caused

some deterioration in the inflation

outlook, which authorities

had hoped would dip below 20%

by year-end. Annual inflation eased

to 30.9% in March.

Şimşek said the government’s

medium-term economic program

introduced in mid-2023

had strengthened Türkiye’s macroeconomic

foundations, increased

resilience and enabled the

country to better absorb external

shocks.

“The program has proven itself,”

he said. “Despite the trade wars,

the ‘12-Day War,’ drought and

agricultural frost last year, we

got through all of these shocks

without major losses in the program,”

he noted.

He said Türkiye was seen as one

of the countries best positioned

to withstand geopolitical shocks

because of its relatively strong

fiscal buffers, lower macroeconomic

imbalances and limited direct

energy dependence on the Gulf

region.

According to Şimşek, Türkiye

has almost no dependence on

oil supplies that pass through the

Strait of Hormuz, while natural

gas imports from Iran continue to

flow through pipelines and have

not been disrupted.

“This is important because if the

cease-fire does not hold and the

war drags on, many countries

could face energy supply security

problems,” he said.

Şimşek said one of Türkiye’s

strongest buffers was its fiscal position.

Despite the cost of the devastating

2023 earthquakes and other

spending pressures, he said the

budget deficit was reduced to below

3% of gross domestic product

and that both public debt and the

deficit remain low compared with

other emerging markets.

He noted that average budget deficits

in emerging economies stood

at 6.3% of GDP last year, more

than double Türkiye’s level.

Şimşek acknowledged that the

current account deficit would

worsen because of higher oil prices,

weaker tourism revenues and

trade disruptions.

“A current account deficit increase

of around 1 percentage point is

possible, while growth could slow

by around half a percentage point,”

he said. “All of these effects

are manageable and will not derail

the program.”

He also said Türkiye remained

comfortable in terms of reserve

adequacy despite some capital

outflows during the early phase

of the conflict.

“With the cease-fire, those flows

are returning,” Şimşek said. “Demand

for foreign currency from

our citizens remained very limited

thanks to confidence in the

program. We are in a very comfortable

position in terms of reserve

adequacy.”

Şimşek reiterated that the government

would continue prioritizing

disinflation and said authorities

would do whatever was necessary

to maintain price stability and

preserve macroeconomic discipline.

A golden signature on your skin

with the new Touch of Gold

Turkish central bank keeps key

policy rate unchanged again

Fragrance is no longer just a finishing

touch; it is the invisible yet

most powerful accessory of personal

style. With its Touch of Gold collection,

Bath & Body Works brings

together fruity radiance and warm

floral notes, transforming the daily

care ritual into a sophisticated signature.

This season, luminosity finds its place

not only in makeup palettes but also

in the memory of the skin. The new

Touch of Gold series by Bath & Body

Works blends vibrant fruit notes with

warm, enveloping floral touches in

a balanced composition, presenting

a modern, confident, and feminine

character.

At the heart of the collection lies the

energetic sparkle of bright blackberry,

the luminous elegance of golden

orange blossom, and the deep, warm

intensity of rich tonka. This trio delivers

a layered and long-lasting effect

on the skin, turning fragrance into a

distinctive signature that lingers throughout

the day.

Among the standout products in the

range, the Touch of Gold Body Spray

offers a lightweight texture that allows

for effortless refreshment during the

day, while the Touch of Gold Candle

extends the same warm and captivating

atmosphere into living spaces

with its enveloping presence.

Infused with pro-vitamin B5 and aloe,

the Touch of Gold Shower Gel gently

cleanses the skin, while the Touch

of Gold Body Lotion, enriched with

shea and cocoa butter and offering up

to 48 hours of intense moisture, adds

both nourishment and an additional

layer of scent. The most powerful interpretation

of the collection, Touch

of Gold Eau de Parfum, delivers a

sophisticated final touch with its depth

and impressive longevity.

Touch of Gold is not merely a fragrance

line; it is a contemporary expression

that carries radiance into

everyday life, turning skincare and

perfume steps into a holistic sensory

experience.

Continued From Page 1

The bank also left its overnight

lending and borrowing rates

unchanged at 40% and 35.5%,

respectively.

Before the regional conflict

began shifting expectations,

the CBRT had been expected

to continue a rate-cutting cycle

that began in late 2024.

The Iran war sent energy prices

soaring, posing a challenge for

import-heavy economies like

Türkiye, where inflation still

eased to 30.87% last month.

U.S. President Donald Trump

extended the war cease-fire

indefinitely.

In a statement following

Monetary Policy Committee

(MPC) meeting, the CBRT

said the underlying trend of

inflation declined in March,

while leading indicators suggest

a slight increase in April.

The CBRT said energy prices

“remain elevated and exhibit

notable volatility” amid

geopolitical developments and

the resulting uncertainties.

“The effects of these

developments and domestic

energy prices on the inflation

outlook through the cost

channel and economic activity

are being closely monitored,”

the statement read.

Indicators point to a slowdown

in economic activity, but the

bank said “potential secondround

effects of recent

developments on the inflation

outlook will be of importance.”

The tight monetary policy

stance, it said, will strengthen

the disinflation process

through demand, exchange

rate and expectation channels.

The cease-fire allowed the

central bank “to refrain

from tightening,” William

Jackson, economist at Capital

Economics, said in a note.

“So long as energy prices don’t

spike again, we think the CBRT

will opt to leave interest rates

on hold for at least a few more

months,” Jackson said.

The bank said the policy

rate would be determined by

taking into account realized

and expected inflation and its

underlying trend in a way to

ensure the tightness required

by the projected disinflation

path in line with the interim

targets.

“Monetary policy decisions are

made prudently on a meetingby-meeting

basis with a focus

on the inflation outlook,” the

statement said.

The CBRT in February kept

its end-2026 interim inflation

target at 16% but lifted its

forecast range to 15%-21%

from 13%-19% previously.

Treasury and Finance Minister

Mehmet Şimşek said recent

developments will impact

Turkish inflation but the

downward trend will not

change.

Şimşek also said the current

account deficit was expected to

widen further this year due to

the oil price shock, but that this

was temporary.

The central bank reiterated

the policy stance would be

tightened in case of a “significant

and persistent deterioration” in

the inflation outlook, which

can also be driven by the recent

developments.

“The Committee reiterated that

it remains highly attentive to

upside risks on inflation,” the

bank said.

The CBRT stands ready to

support monetary transmission

mechanism via additional

macroprudential measures

in case of unanticipated

developments in credit and

deposit markets, it added.

“Liquidity conditions will

continue to be closely

monitored and liquidity

management tools will

continue to be used effectively.”

Analysts at the Dutch financial

giant ING said the rate decision

implies an intention to move

toward normalization as the

bank does not see a need to

introduce additional tightening

... or to gain additional

flexibility by adjusting the

upper band of the interest rate

corridor.

In the near term, they expect the

bank to remain in a waitandsee

mode before deciding whether

to reduce the effective cost of

funding back toward the policy

rate.

Mideast crisis could redraw energy map in Türkiye’s favor

The Silivri Natural Gas Storage Facility

currently holds 4.6 billion cubic meters

and is set to reach 6 billion cubic meters

by 2028, according to Bayraktar.

He said Lake Tuz Natural Gas Storage

Facility is expected to see its capacity increase

fivefold by 2032.

Bayraktar said Türkiye aims to store at

least 20% of its annual gas consumption

by 2028, adding that storage facilities are

currently around 75% full.

Continued From Page 1

“From a supply security perspective, we

have no issues. We remain on constant

alert,” Bayraktar told an event in Ankara,

adding that the ongoing crisis could have

far-reaching and unpredictable consequences

for the global economy.

The current situation has caused an unprecedented

supply shock, according to

the minister, who cited disruptions affecting

around 11 million barrels of daily

oil supply, which he says represent a significant

strain on global markets.

“This is a crisis far greater than previous

energy crises. We are facing highly unpredictable

conditions, with markets reacting

differently every day,” he said.

Türkiye is a major energy importer that

neighbors Iran and is among the most

exposed emerging market economies to

the global energy price surge. But officials

have touted Türkiye’s “manageable”

10% dependence on Middle East oil and

the country’s protective diversification

steps.

‘Great depression’

Bayraktar pointed to volatility surrounding

the Strait of Hormuz as a central factor

fueling uncertainty.

“The closure of such a critical route and

the fluctuations that followed have put

all countries on edge,” he said, describing

the situation as akin to a “great depression”

in the energy sector.

He still said the crisis could produce opportunities

for Türkiye, which has long

sought to position itself as an energy

hub.

“The ongoing energy crisis could transform

Türkiye into a hub country through

new collaborations and new energy

routes,” the minister noted.

Among the projects Bayraktar highlighted

were a proposed pipeline to transport

Turkmen natural gas across the Caspian

Sea to Türkiye and onward to Europe,

and the extension of the Iraq-Türkiye

crude oil pipeline to Basra.

He also pointed to the possibility of a

natural gas pipeline linking Qatar to Türkiye,

describing it as a potentially critical

project in addressing supply shortages

and price volatility in global markets.

In addition, Türkiye is advancing

cross-border electricity interconnection

projects, including a green electricity

transmission initiative linking Azerbaijan,

Georgia, Türkiye and Bulgaria to deliver

renewable energy to Europe.

Plans are also underway for a regional

transmission line extending from Saudi

Arabia to Türkiye.

Türkiye has not faced any supply cuts,

though it’s still exposed to pricing pressures.

Bayraktar earlier said every $1 (TL 45)

increase in oil prices adds about $400

million to Türkiye’s energy bill, which

was $62 billion last year.

To mitigate the impact of rising prices,

authorities implemented support mechanisms,

including tax adjustments and

subsidies.

Those include a “sliding scale” system

that adjusts the special consumption tax

(OTV) on fuel products according to

changes in oil prices to prevent excessive

price rises.

Bayraktar said that the mechanism and a

reduction of fuel taxes to zero for diesel

aimed at offsetting up to TL 600 billion

in potential economic burden by yearend.

Over the past three years, Türkiye has

provided approximately TL 1.85 trillion

in energy subsidies for electricity and

natural gas bills, said the minister.

But the country has lately shifted toward

a targeted system where lower-consuming

households benefit more from support.

Over the years, Türkiye has significantly

expanded its natural gas infrastructure

to enhance supply security and flexibility.

Daily regasification capacity has increased

from 30 million cubic meters in

2016 to 161 million cubic meters, with

plans to reach around 200 million cubic

meters through the addition of two new

floating storage and regasification units

(FSRUs), Bayraktar said.

The country has also diversified its LNG

supply portfolio, including imports from

North America, and increased the number

of entry points into the system.

Underground storage capacity is being

expanded as well.

Electricity demand in Türkiye has tripled

over the past 23 years and is projected to

triple again over the next three decades,

requiring substantial investments in

generation capacity, particularly in renewables.

Bayraktar highlighted gains in domestic

energy production, including output of

9.5 million cubic meters of natural gas

per day from the vast Black Sea reserve

and 81,000 barrels per day of oil from a

major field in the southeastern Şırnak.

He also noted that Türkiye has built one

of the world’s largest offshore exploration

fleets, enabling exploration from the

Black Sea to offshore Somalia.

Bayraktar said Türkiye is preparing a

new long-term energy strategy, expected

to be unveiled in the coming months, focused

on building a more resilient, flexible

system centered on electrification

and digitalization.

Despite recent crises, including the pandemic,

supply chain disruptions, the

Russia-Ukraine war and regional conflicts,

he said Türkiye has managed to

maintain stability through strong infrastructure

and proactive policies.

“Thanks to our robust energy infrastructure

and policies, we have successfully

navigated these crises,” Bayraktar said.

China slams EU’s ‘Made

in Europe’ proposal,

vows countermeasures

Continued From Page 1

The proposal, held up for months by

wrangling over the measures, is a key part

of a European Union drive to regain its

competitive edge, reduce its industrial

decline and stave off hundreds of thousands

of job losses.

Beijing’s Commerce Ministry said that it

had submitted comments to the European

Commission, expressing China’s “serious

concerns” regarding the act it called

“systemic discrimination.”

“If the EU... presses ahead with the

legislation, and thereby harms the interests

of Chinese companies, China will have no

choice but to take countermeasures to firmly

safeguard the legitimate rights and interests

of its enterprises,” the ministry warned in a

statement.

European businesses in many of the sectors

concerned by the proposal have long

lamented that they face unfair competition

from heavily subsidised Chinese rivals.

The EU proposal, formally known as

the “Industrial Accelerator Act” or IAA,

implicitly targets Chinese makers of

batteries and electric vehicles by requiring

foreign firms to partner with European

firms and pass on technological know-how

when setting up shop in the bloc.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce to the

EU said this month the plan marked a shift

towards protectionism that would affect

trade cooperation between the EU and

China.

A new era in blonding: BLONDME 2026

Precision and control: Swell-Control Technology

One of the most critical factors in blonding services is ensuring

the product stays exactly where it is applied, without

unwanted swelling during processing.

The updated BLONDME Lighteners and Developers feature

Swell-Control Technology, designed to keep the formula

stable in the targeted area. This is particularly beneficial

for regrowth applications and intricate technical work, offering

a cleaner, more controlled, and more comfortable

service experience.

The renewed BLONDME Lightener & Developer family

The BLONDME 2026 portfolio includes powerful solutions

tailored to different blonding services:

Schwarzkopf Professional redefines safe lightening performance

with advanced bond-protection technologies.

Blonding has always been one of the most technical—and

riskiest—disciplines in the art of hairdressing. It demands

control as much as creativity, and protection as much as

boldness. Building on decades of expertise in blond services,

Schwarzkopf Professional now elevates its know-how

to a new scientific level. The renewed BLONDME Lightener

and Premium Developer range introduces integrated

technologies designed to protect hair bonds, delivering

both maximum lift and enhanced safety.

As of 2026, BLONDME defines “flawless blond” not only

through tonal precision, but through intelligent formulas

that safeguard hair integrity.

Next-generation power in bond protection

For more than a decade, BLONDME has been one of the

first names associated with blonding and bonding technologies.

Now, the brand takes its formulations to the next

level.

At the core of the range lies the Integrated Anti-Metal Bonding

Technology. During the lightening process, it helps

protect the inner hair bonds while neutralizing metal ions

accumulated in the hair, minimizing the risk of breakage.

Structural weakening—often experienced when transitioning

to lighter shades—is brought under control.

When used in combination with the appropriate BLOND-

ME Premium Developers, the new lighteners offer up to

nine levels of lift. The result is not only powerful, but also

predictable and controlled performance.

This protection approach, initiated in the salon, can be

reinforced with the dedicated home care range—helping

maintain luminous blonde tones and long-lasting hair resilience.

BLONDME Premium Lightener 9+

With its enhanced formula, it delivers up to nine levels of

lift. Its advanced bonding technology focuses on maintaining

hair structure while minimizing breakage risk. Especially

on darker bases, it supports cleaner and clearer lifting

results.

BLONDME Clay Lightener

Now upgraded to deliver up to eight levels of lift. Its “Softto-Solid”

Iran war squeezes Asia’s polyester suppliers, garment makers

Continued From Page 1

Filatex, one of India’s biggest polyester yarn

producers, is paying nearly 30% more for

the petroleum-derived feedstocks – purified

terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene

glycol (MEG) – that it needs to make yarn,

as Chinese suppliers raise prices and Middle

East supply is disrupted, managing director

Madhu Sudhan Bhageria told Reuters.

The pain is being felt across the clothing supply

chain, which is dominated by Asia.

Avichal Arya, CEO of Bindal Silk Mills, which

supplies dyed and printed polyester fabrics to

retailers including H&M, Zara-owner Inditex,

Target, Walmart and IKEA, said the energy

crisis had “drastically” pushed up the cost of

chemicals and dyes.

Adding to his woes, Arya said a shortage of

cooking gas due to the war has driven many

migrant workers to leave Surat, a textile hub

in India’s western state of Gujarat.

“We are not able to actually meet the demands

of the global orders very fruitfully these days,”

he said.

Made from oil derivatives, polyester dominates

the textile industry, accounting for 59%

of global fiber production and used in everything

from running shorts to dresses. It is

directly exposed to the squeeze on refined

petroleum products caused by the closure of

the Strait of Hormuz.

The pressure could eventually move downstream

to retailers that rely on Asia’s polyester-heavy

supply chains, though retailers are

shielded from immediate pain by forward

buying.

British retailer Primark said its spring/summer

stock and a big part of its autumn/winter

stock would not be affected.

“If we were buying energy-related raw materials

today, we would be seeing significant inflation,

it’s just that we’re not,” George Weston,

CEO of parent company Associated British

Foods, told Reuters.

“It may be that when we do have to go back

into the market, the prices have reduced, but

we don’t know.”

An industry source said H&M expects price

increases from Bangladeshi suppliers in the

coming weeks but plans to absorb them.

In a statement, H&M said it does not see

major disruptions to production in Bangladesh

and has not observed “any noticeable

number of requests from suppliers to adjust

orders in connection with energy costs.”

Zara-owner Inditex declined to comment on

its polyester supply.

Target, Walmart, and IKEA did not immediately

respond to a request for comment.

Retailers like Zara and H&M have shifted to

using mostly recycled polyester – made from

plastic bottle waste – which could cushion

some of the oil-driven cost pressure for them.

But globally, recycled polyester still accounts

for just 12% of polyester production.

Polyester shock

In Surat, half of the 200 industrial looms at

Radheshyam Textile that weave polyester

have sat silent since the conflict started in late

February.

“Our daily production was 10,000 metres per

day before the war started, but it has fallen to

3,500 to 4,000 metres per day,” owner Kaushik

Dudhat told.

He has stopped buying new polyester yarn, saying

the steep price increases would force him

to raise his own prices by around 15% – a hike

his customers, mainly clothing traders, would

not accept.

Rising costs have caused textile dyeing and

printing factories in Surat to shut for two days

a week, up from one previously, said Kailash

Hakim, president of the Federation of Surat

Textile Traders Association. “If the situation

persists, raw material shortages will start

taking place and factories will need to shut

down,” he warned.

Data from Wood Mackenzie shows the price

of polyester staple fibre in India jumped from

100 rupees per kilogramme at end-February

to 126.5 rupees a month later.

It eased slightly after the Indian government

slashed import tariffs on petrochemical raw

materials, but remained at 120 rupees as of

April 9.

Prices in China, the world’s biggest polyester

producer, have also jumped.

In Bangladesh, even though factories mostly

make cotton-based clothing, they face higher

prices for the polyester sewing thread that feeds

their sewing machines, and higher logistics

costs from raised retail fuel prices.

In an April 5 letter reviewed by Reuters, thread

producer Coats Bangladesh – a unit of

U.K.-listed Coats – ‌announced a 15.5% price

‌increase effective April 15, citing the “rapid

escalation in oil-derived feedstock costs” and

higher transportation expenses.

“Buyers are becoming more cautious and carefully

calculating risks before placing orders,

which could affect order volumes,” said Mohammad

Hatem, president of the Bangladesh

‌Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

“If this goes on for one more month, forget

it – we will have lower clothing production

and what we call demand destruction, because

retailers will have to raise their prices and

consumers will cut their purchases,” said Bruna

Angel, principal analyst for fibres at Wood

Mackenzie.

Petrochemical-derived materials such as ethylene-vinyl

acetate (EVA) are also widely

used in sneakers, and U.S. retailers have raised

the alarm.

“There’s broad-based impact across the board

no matter where you source your shoes from,”

said Matt Priest, president of Footwear Distributors

and Retailers of America, which identified

25 petrochemical-based components

used in shoes – from synthetic rubber outsoles

to polyurethane foam and adhesives – in a

recent report.

Higher costs could push retail prices up and

make it harder for brands to forecast demand.

“Materials related to oil do have an impact on

product costs,” a Nike spokesperson said.

Turkish cosmetics take the stage in Miami

Under the leadership of İKMİB, Turkish brands strengthened

their presence in the U.S. market at Cosmoprof North

America Miami 2026.

Aligned with its global growth ambitions, the Turkish cosmetics

sector continues to expand its footprint in the U.S.

market. The Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products

Exporters’ Association (İKMİB) successfully organized

Türkiye’s national participation for the third time within

the scope of Cosmoprof North America Miami, held for

the second time this year in Miami, USA. Taking place

between January 27–29, 2026, the fair provided 33 Turkish

companies with the opportunity to showcase their innovative

products and brands to international buyers.

Held in key global hubs such as Bologna, Hong Kong,

Mumbai, and Bangkok, Cosmoprof exhibitions have long

shaped the industry in the U.S. through their Las Vegas

edition. As of 2024, Miami has joined this global calendar.

With its strategic location and role as a gateway to the Latin

American market, Miami has rapidly emerged as one of

the industry’s new centers of attraction. In this context, the

national participation organization for the 2026 edition of

Cosmoprof North America Miami was once again successfully

carried out by İKMİB.

Strong representation with 33 Turkish companies

Bringing together global players from the cosmetics and

beauty industry, the fair hosted a total of 33 companies

from Türkiye—19 participating within the national pavilion

and 14 through individual stands. Turkish exhibitors

presented their innovative solutions across cosmetics, personal

care, fragrances, natural products, cleaning products,

and related sub-sectors to international buyers and

industry professionals.

With its high quality standards, flexible production capabilities,

and R&D-driven approach, the Turkish cosmetics

sector once again demonstrated its competitive strength in

the U.S. market through the diverse product range showcased

in Miami.

High-level visits and industry meetings

During the fair, Turkish company stands were visited by

Resul Şahinol, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye

in Miami; Ömer İnce, Trade Counselor of the Republic of

Türkiye in Miami; Simru Korur Toprak, Assistant Trade

Counselor; Mehmet İmer Özer, Vice Chairman of the İK-

MİB Board; Uğur Adıyaman, Member of the İKMİB Board;

and Süleyman Özgür Öztürk, TIM Delegate.

In addition, Saadettin Çağan, Chairman of the Board of

the Mediterranean Chemicals and Chemical Products

Exporters’ Association (AKİB); Board Member İmam Gazali

Hıradağı; and Osman Erşahan, Deputy Secretary General

of AKİB, attended the fair, held one-on-one meetings

with participating companies, and conveyed their best wishes

to sector representatives.

“The U.S. market plays a key role in our cosmetics

exports”

Commenting on the fair, Adil Pelister, Chairman of İK-

MİB highlighted the strategic importance of the U.S. market

and stated:

“The Turkish cosmetics sector continues to strengthen its

position in global markets with its quality, innovation, and

high production capacity. The U.S. market represents a critical

threshold for our industry. In essential oils, cosmetics,

and soap exports, the U.S. is currently our second-largest

export destination. In 2025, our cosmetics exports to the

U.S. increased by approximately 17%, reaching USD 155.4

million. In January 2026 alone, exports rose by 9.89% to

USD 10 million.”

Emphasizing İKMİB’s goal of transforming this potential

into sustainable commercial relationships, Pelister added:

“By organizing the national participation at Cosmoprof

North America Miami for the third time, we aim to enhance

the visibility of our companies in the U.S. market,

support the development of new collaborations, and help

establish long-term commercial partnerships. We believe

this fair will pave the way for strong connections that will

further accelerate our exports.”

A strong step toward global growth targets

The national participation organization led by İKMİB not

only increased the visibility of the Turkish cosmetics sector

in the U.S. and across the American continent, but also

made a significant contribution to goals such as branding,

value-added exports, and long-term market depth. From

Miami to the world, Turkish cosmetics once again demonstrated

its strong position in global competition.
