The world is preparing for another

unforgettable chapter in soccer

history. The 2026 FIFA World Cup

promises to be one of the largest and most

exciting sporting events ever staged — and

for Brazilians, it carries a special emotional

meaning. Hosted by the United States,

Canada, and Mexico, the tournament brings

the World Cup back to North America for

the first time since 1994, when Brazil lifted

its historic fourth title at the legendary Rose

Bowl Stadium near Los Angeles.

Streets are decorated in green, yellow, and

to watch the Seleção play. Workers often

receive extended lunch breaks or flexible

schedules during important matches.

Families and friends come together

regardless of political differences, social

class, or personal struggles. For ninety

minutes, the country breathes together.

Brazil enters the 2026 World Cup carrying

both enormous expectation and historical

weight. The Seleção remains the only nation

continues to hold the record for the most

Most analysts agree that the 2026

tournament could become one of the

Traditional powerhouses such as France,

Spain, Argentina, Portugal, Germany, and

England arrive with highly talented squads

and experienced players competing at the

highest levels of European soccer. In many

expert projections, Spain and France appear

among the strongest favorites because of

their technical quality, squad depth, and

tactical consistency.

Brazil, meanwhile, enters the competition

as both a respected contender and an

emotional wildcard. Historically, Brazilian

teams thrive under pressure and possess

a unique style that combines creativity,

flair, rhythm, and attacking instinct. Even in

moments of uncertainty, the Brazilian jersey

carries a psychological impact few nations

can match.

Adding even more excitement is the

possibility of a dramatic South American

clash between Brazil and Argentina in the

knockout rounds. Few rivalries in global

sports compare to the intensity between

these neighboring giants. A semifinal

between the two nations would capture

worldwide attention and instantly become

tournament.

The final is scheduled to take place in the

New York metropolitan area at MetLife

Stadium, a stage worthy of what could

Four Building Around the

World that Don’t Look Real

In a world where many buildings blend

together, unusual architecture can lift

travelers’ spirits and provoke a reaction.

Love them or hate them, you can’t deny

these structures get us talking - whether

they appear to defy gravity, tease us with

their optical illusions, or please us with

their unconventional shapes.

1) WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL, LOS

ANGELES

Frank Gehry’s signature style centered

on deconstructivist architecture and

curvilinear forms. He experimented with

shapes and materials, combining them

to create something extraordinary. The

Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown

Los Angeles is a case in point. Its key

attributes are mirrored in the Gehrydesigned

Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao,

Spain, which is a triumph of titanium

cladding. The American building’s radical

exterior is mitigated by the use of stainless

steel, which reflects light and glitters in the

L.A. sunshine. As unusual as it is from the

outside, inside, the Walt Disney Concert

Hall boasts incredible acoustics, in part

because Gehry designed it from the inside

out. The result is a joyful and uplifting

space that aims to trigger an emotional

response in the way that music does.

2) ZAYED NATIONAL MUSEUM, ABU

DHABI

The National Museum of the United Arab

Emirates is as much a piece of sculpture

as it is a building. Architects Foster +

Partners were tasked with creating an

impressive landmark to sit at the heart

of the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu

Dhabi. The result is five delicate-seeming

towers that take their inspiration from

the wings of a falcon. Together, they

provide a “wow” factor but also serve

a useful purpose. They are integral

to the building’s ventilation system,

harnessing a similar technology that’s

been used by the Emirates’ traditional

barjeel wind towers for centuries. The

low-slung structure on which they sit

is a representation of the local desert

topography - even its color is intentional,

reflecting the hues of local sand - while

the landscaped garden that surrounds

the museum is another reminder of the

relationship between people and their

environment.

3) INNTEL HOTELS ZAANDAM,

AMSTERDAM

Traditional wooden houses in the

Zaan region of the Netherlands were

typically brightly painted in shades of

green. They provided the inspiration

for this hotel, which somehow manages

to be familiar yet outlandish all at once.

The firm responsible for the design,

Delft-based WAM Architecten, aimed

to capture some of the region’s history,

including a blue “house” that pays

homage to Claude Monet’s work “Het

Blauwe Huis” (“The Blue House”). The

building features a striking stacked

design, with overhanging sections

that might conjure up images of a street

performer’s balancing act. Yet, this bold

and confident hotel also manages to

celebrate classic architectural details -

such as those distinctive gable ends - in

the process.

4) HEYDAR ALIYEV CENTER, BAKU

With its futuristic curves and simple white

cladding, the award-winning Heydar

Aliyev Center, opened in 2012, makes

a bigger statement than your average

building. It’s the work of renowned

firm Zaha Hadid Architects, which won

the contract to design a cultural center

for Azerbaijan’s capital. Once the

former USSR member country gained

independence from the Soviet Union in

1991, there was a concerted effort to leave

behind the functionality of the Soviet era

and embrace modern architecture. In a

city where skyscrapers are increasingly

the norm, the Heydar Aliyev Center’s sleek

appearance offers a refreshing change of

pace. The use of fluid lines and folds in

the building’s fabric is designed to blur

the boundary between the building itself

and the spacious plaza that surrounds it.

The result is an attractive city icon that

invites passersby to sit and admire its

beauty, or venture inside for regular

events and exhibitions.

uma crise estrutural marcada

por custos elevados e queda

nas matrículas. Nas últimas décadas, o

ensino superior norte-americano passou

de símbolo de mobilidade social a fonte

de endividamento massivo. Dados

do National Student Clearinghouse

Research Center indicam que o número

de estudantes matriculados caiu

significativamente desde 2020, com

uma redução acumulada de milhões de

alunos - tendência que, embora tenha

desacelerado, ainda não foi revertida até

2026.

A principal razão é financeira. Segundo

o College Board, o custo médio anual

(incluindo mensalidades, moradia e

despesas) pode ultrapassar US$25 mil em

universidades públicas e US$ 55 mil em

instituições privadas. Ao final de quatro

Brazilian musical influences, Me Espera

carries a deeply personal story.

After overcoming a serious illness,

Daniel transformed that life experience

into art. The album’s title - which

translates to “Wait for Me” - emerged

from what the artist describes as a

symbolic request to life itself: to slow

down, to allow him more time, and

to let him continue his journey. That

emotional layer gives the album a

reflective tone without losing its sense

of celebration, warmth, and hope.

The focus track, Clamour Africano -

which features Marcelo Nolla as coauthor,

captures that spirit beautifully.

Described as a vibrant “samba raiz”

(roots samba), the song blends strong

melodies, rhythmic energy, and

emotional depth into a sound that feels

both traditional and contemporary. The

track also highlights the collaborative

strength behind the album, featuring

musicians such as Felipe Fraga on drums

and percussion, Igor Souza on six- and

seven-string guitar and cavaquinho,

Sandro Rebel on keyboards, Rumi Flute

on flute, and vocalist Marcele Berger.

Association projeta um

crescimento constante,

impulsionado pelo mercado interno,

para o setor de viagens em 2026 e

nos anos seguintes, com um aumento

de 3,4% nos gastos totais em 2027. Se

estima que os EUA atingirão o recorde

de US$1,37 trilhão em 2026 e chegarão

a US$ 1,42 trilhão no próximo ano. Para

a associação, os dados comprovam

que os norte-americanos continuam

priorizando viagens, mesmo com

a inflação, a incerteza econômica e

a instabilidade global afetando os

orçamentos familiares.

O turismo doméstico continua sendo a

espinha dorsal do setor, representando

87% de todos os gastos com viagens. O

turismo de lazer doméstico é o único

grande segmento de viagens a superar

os gastos pré-pandemia em termos

reais, com uma projeção de gastos de

US$ 909 bilhões em 2026.

A expectativa é que o turismo

internacional receptivo, que apresentou

queda em 2025, retome o crescimento

em 2026. Prevê-se que os gastos dos

visitantes internacionais aumentem

1,6%, para US$ 178 bilhões, e que o

número de visitantes internacionais

cresça 3,4%, para 70,6 milhões, embora

a recuperação total aos níveis de 2019

só seja esperada em 2029.

Segundo a U.S Travel Association a Copa

do Mundo Fifa de 2026, sediada em

diversas cidades dos EUA, representa

uma oportunidade para acelerar essa

recuperação. Ao mesmo tempo, a

lenta retomada do turismo receptivo

está ampliando o déficit comercial

do turismo nos EUA, que atingiu

US$ 72 bilhões em 2025, visto que o

turismo emissivo supera o turismo

internacional.

Prevê-se que os gastos com viagens

a negócioscresçam modestamente,

aumentando 0,7% para US$ 319

bilhões em 2026, à medida que as

empresas mantêm os orçamentos de

viagens estáveis, enquanto continuam

a priorizar reuniões e eventos

presenciais.

A previsão também aponta para riscos

negativos: inflação persistente e

preços elevados da energia, conflitos

geopolíticos, queda na confiança do

consumidor e barreiras enfrentadas

por visitantes internacionais, incluindo

longos tempos de espera para vistos e

a percepção global dos EUA.

O setor de viagens continua sendo

um dos mais resilientes e essenciais

da economia americana. Mesmo com

a inflação e as pressões econômicas

mais amplas, os americanos

continuam investindo em experiências,

reencontros e conexões de negócios

que acontecem por meio de viagens.
