Amvic ICF: The fastest growing

modern construction method

A scalable system that helps developers lower costs, reduce

risk and shorten programmes

CF is no longer a niche alternative. Insulated

IConcrete Formwork has become one of the fastest

growing Modern Methods of Construction in the

residential sector, with adoption accelerating steadily

across private, social and affordable housing schemes

– backed by an increasing level of government policy.

In 2025, MMC accounted for 24% of new-build

residential projects in the UK, up from 18% the

previous year. MMC shows no signs of slowing down,

and Amvic ICF is positioned at its centre.

ICF as a system itself is straightforward. Two

panels of extra high-density expanded polystyrene

are held together by structural ties, dry-stacked

to form a wall and filled with reinforced concrete

in a storey at a time pour. The formwork stays

permanently in place, acting as continuous

insulation on both faces. No drying time, no wet

trades waiting on cures, no weather-related

downtime – and ready to meet current energy

standards without additional remedial work.

High Performance Building Systems

Three recent Amvic ICF projects break down

how this modern construction method has been

transforming programmes across the UK and

Ireland.

A 98-unit mixed-tenure housing scheme comprising

semi-detached homes, terraced units and community

facilities demonstrates the benefits of ICF at scale.

Walls were rising at 800mm within two weeks of

breaking ground and eight units reached joist level

within a single week. Over 40,000m² of ICF was installed

across the scheme, finishing on programme.

A phased private housing estate project

delivered by Amvic ICF over 24 months displays

the cost savings that accompany ICF. The modular

installation process removed lead-time dependency,

continuous insulation eliminated cold bridging

entirely and airtightness levels exceeded standard

benchmarks – satisfying Building Regulations and

NZEB requirements without any additional cost.

A four-storey, 20-unit apartment block on a

constrained corner plot with limited access completes

the picture. Lightweight ICF simplified on-site handling,

reduced scaffolding requirements significantly and

removed the need for heavy plant. Foundation to

handover was completed in just 24 weeks.

When eight units can reach joist level in a week, a

98-unit scheme can be delivered at pace and a fourstorey

apartment block is handed over in 24 weeks,

the commercial case becomes difficult to argue

against. Faster programmes mean lower prelim

costs, earlier sales revenue and reduced exposure

to market risk. Amvic ICF brings over two decades

of experience to every project, working closely with

design teams and contractors from early-stage

appraisal through to delivery

to provide safe, cost-effective

and on-time results.

Warehouse & Material Handling Automation

A fully automated warehouse

solution for Wayland Games

The client

Established in 2008, Wayland Games Limited is

Europe’s largest independent retailer for tabletop

hobbies, serving a passionate community of

gamers and collectors across the UK and Europe.

Key challenges

Wayland Games required automation to support

their continued growth and expansion into a new

50,000 square foot facility near Brentwood, Essex.

■ Previous order volumes and capacity constraints

■ Staff walking distances before automation

■ Peak season pressures (e.g., new game

releases, Christmas)

■ Specific pain points with manual processes

■ Error rates or dispatch time issues

Solution

Scaling with confidence

Working closely with Wayland Games, we implemented

an AMR goods-to-person solution integrated with

the Autrix Automation Control System (ACS). The

Precision Grinding

system went live in March 2025,

handling the company’s full range of

tabletop gaming products across

their new facility.

Products are brought directly to

ergonomically designed picking

stations, so operators no longer

need to walk long distances. This

enables faster, more accurate order

processing while reducing physical

demands on warehouse staff.

Following the success of the initial deployment,

Autrix implemented fit-to-size packing automation

in November 2025. This creates right-sized boxes

for each order, reducing packaging waste and

shipping costs.

The new facility reflects Wayland Games’

commitment to sustainability, featuring solar

panels and energy-efficient lighting. ACS supports

this by reducing operational waste through

intelligent order consolidation and optimised

picking routes.

Results

The deployment has delivered measurable

improvements across Wayland Games’ fulfilment

operation.

The Automation Control System (ACS) and

AMR goods-to-person solution now handle the

company’s full product range. The same warehouse

team is processing double the

order volume, with pick rates more

than doubling since go-live.

Orders can now move from

placement to dispatch in 40

minutes. During peak periods, this speed and

consistency gives Wayland Games the capacity

to meet demand without adding headcount.

With fit-to-size packing automation now live,

the operation is positioned for continued growth.

“What sets Autrix apart is their genuine

partnership approach – they didn’t just

install equipment and leave. They’ve worked

alongside us to optimise operations and

ensure we’re getting maximum value from

the investment.” – Richard Lawford MD &

Business Crisis Management

Business resilience isn’t optional anymore

n an era defined by volatility, disruption has

Ibecome a constant rather than an exception. From

cyber incidents and supply chain breakdowns to

reputational crises and extreme weather events,

organisations across every sector are being tested

in ways that demand far more than reactive decisionmaking.

The ability to anticipate disruption, respond

decisively, and recover effectively has become a

defining characteristic of successful businesses.

This is where SDH Crisis Management plays a critical

role, helping organisations move beyond theoretical

planning and towards genuine operational resilience.

SDH Crisis Management is built on the understanding

that resilience is not a single plan or document, but

a capability that must be embedded throughout an

organisation. Too often, crisis and continuity plans

exist purely to satisfy compliance requirements,

lacking real-world relevance when an incident

unfolds. SDH challenges this approach by working

closely with leadership teams to ensure that

resilience strategies are practical, proportionate,

and aligned with the realities of how organisations

operate. The result is preparedness that can be

relied upon when pressure is at its highest.

Central to SDH’s work is the integration of crisis

management and business continuity. While distinct

disciplines, both are essential to navigating disruption

successfully. Crisis management focuses on responding

to high-impact events that threaten people, operations,

or reputation, often under intense time pressure and

scrutiny. Business continuity ensures that critical

activities can continue, or be rapidly restored, even

as disruption unfolds. SDH’s methodology recognises

that these functions cannot operate in isolation.

Instead, they must complement one another, forming

a cohesive framework that supports decisionmaking

before, during, and after an incident.

A key strength of SDH’s approach lies in its emphasis

on understanding risk in context. Rather than

relying on generic risk registers, SDH conducts

structured assessments that examine how threats

intersect with an organisation’s specific objectives,

dependencies, and operational realities. Through

detailed business impact analysis, organisations

gain clarity on which functions are truly critical,

how long they can tolerate disruption, and

where vulnerabilities exist across supply chains,

technology, people, and facilities. This clarity allows

leaders to prioritise resources effectively and

focus attention where it matters most.

When incidents do occur, SDH provides hands-on

support to organisations navigating the early

stages of disruption. In moments where time is

limited and information is incomplete, experienced

guidance can be invaluable. SDH supports

leadership teams by helping to structure decisionmaking,

manage information flow, and maintain

focus on priorities such as safety, operational

stability, and stakeholder confidence. This

practical involvement helps organisations stabilise

situations more quickly and reduces the risk

of secondary impacts caused by confusion

or miscommunication.

Recovery is treated not as an afterthought, but as

an essential phase of resilience. SDH’s work extends

beyond restoring operations to pre-incident levels,

focusing instead on learning and improvement. Every

disruption presents an opportunity to strengthen

systems, refine plans, and address weaknesses

that may not have been visible before. By supporting

organisations through structured post-incident

reviews and recovery planning, SDH helps ensure

that lessons are captured and embedded, rather

than forgotten once immediate pressures subside.

What’s more, standards and frameworks play an

important role in this process, particularly for

organisations operating in regulated environments.

SDH supports clients in aligning with recognised bestpractice

standards such as ISO: 22301 for business

continuity management. This not only enhances

operational robustness but also demonstrates

assurance to regulators, customers, and partners.

Beyond formal certification, SDH promotes broader

principles of organisational resilience, recognising

that leadership, culture, and adaptability are just as

important as documented procedures.

What ultimately distinguishes SDH Crisis Management is

its partnership-driven approach. Rather than delivering

off-the-shelf solutions, SDH works collaboratively with

organisations to develop strategies that reflect

their size, sector, and risk appetite. This tailored

approach ensures that resilience measures are

realistic and sustainable, embedding preparedness

into everyday decision-making rather than treating

it as a separate or occasional activity.

Industrial Emission Monitoring & Gas Manufacturing Control

ECO PHYSICS AG develops new three-channel

chemiluminescence analyser (NO/NO 2

/NH 3

)

CO PHYSICS AG offers innovative analytical

Esolutions for measurement tasks in the fields

of environment, health and process control.

Using its vital expertise and technology to

contribute towards environmental preservation,

human health, and industrial innovation,

ECO PHYSICS’ interdisciplinary research and

development team work tirelessly to deliver

the best customer orientated and tailor-made

products and services for the industry.

Founded in 1990 through a management buyout,

ECO PHYSICS stands strong today as an

independent Swiss shareholder’s company

with an active board of members who are

committed to the future growth and success

of the company. We spoke to Dr. Grischa Peter

Feuersänger, Head of Sales & Marketing who

explained how the past 12 months have fared.

“We have received a positive recovery post

pandemic. Many public projects were reopened

which generated a lot of opportunities for

new references. The war in East Europe is a

new tough challenge to overcome, especially

for companies that rely almost completely on

importing parts and exporting their finished

products. But the main challenge for all of us

has particularly been the manufacturing costs,

shipping routes and exchange rates. Since 2022,

we have used this time to expand our product

portfolio and modernise our production line. New

staff has been hired for production and R&D, and

we have rearranged the supply chain due to the

rise in production costs. We have adapted our

yearly forecast to cater to this, we know it will

be hard, but optimisation is our current goal.”

Knowing there is no quick fix to economic

changes, ECO PHYSICS is determined to continue

innovating and has developed a new threechannel

analyser based on chemiluminescence.

As an upgrade from the The nCLD AL2, The

nCLDAL3/8555 CY analyser is the next generation

in high precision nitrogen oxide measurement.

Unique in speed and reliability, the nCLDAL3/8555

CY is modular designed and capable of

simultaneously NO, NO 2

, NO X

, NH 3

and NOX-Amines.

The new and intuitive graphical user interface

also individually displays and connects to other

instruments’ data.

Overall stability and reliability are lifted to a

new level. The optional electro-mechanical

bypass system balances out even the fastest

of pressure variations occurring in the sample

flow. Furthermore, the analyser is adaptable

to numerous non-standardised applications

and the calibration of the unit runs quickly and

automatically with all necessary data available

anywhere at any time. Its user friendly, compact,

modular, and intelligent hosting its own CPU

whilst enabling interaction with other CPUs by

BUS-communication.

Additionally, ECO PHYSICS has also been developing

upgrade kits for all its existing products to

help counteract some of the problematic

complications the supply chain has caused. “We

have used this chance for some substantial

upgrades in hardware, software and gas flow

Heating & Cooling Systems

How ESS is

transforming

commercial heating

and cooling

n this issue of Industrial Solutions, we are pleased

Ito feature ESS Air Con as our Heating & Cooling

Systems Company of Choice.

Established in 2000, ESS has evolved from a

specialist HVAC distributor into the UK’s leading

supplier of commercial heat pump systems.

Partnering with global brands such as Samsung

and Panasonic, alongside innovative manufacturers

including Maxa and Volta, ESS delivers tailored, highperformance

solutions to meet the complex needs

of modern commercial environments.

The demand for heat pumps across commercial

and industrial sectors continues to accelerate,

driven by the global push toward decarbonisation

and net zero targets. In both the UK and Europe,

government policy and corporate sustainability

commitments are reshaping the heating landscape.

As organisations transition away from gas

and other fossil-fuel systems, ESS stands at

the forefront – providing efficient, low-carbon

alternatives that enable businesses to reduce

emissions, cut operating costs, and future-proof

their operations.

Over recent months, ESS has intensified its focus

on deploying large-scale heat pump systems for

commercial and industrial properties – including

offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities.

With a deep understanding of the operational

demands and environmental challenges unique to

these sectors, ESS helps organisations enhance

building energy performance and transition

seamlessly to low-carbon heat pump technology. In

doing so, the company enables clients to cut energy

costs, improve efficiency, and meet their ESG and

sustainability commitments.

In the industrial and logistics sectors, the shift is

already underway. Businesses operating lowtemperature

industrial processes, distribution

centres, and temperature-controlled warehouses

are increasingly investing in large heat pump systems

– achieving measurable gains in energy efficiency,

long-term cost reduction, and carbon footprint

reduction.

Maxa Heat Pumps represent one of ESS’s most

recent strategic partnerships, bringing cuttingedge

heating and cooling technology from Italy to

the UK. Manufactured by the Ferroli Group, Maxa

products are imported and distributed across the

UK, offering industrial, commercial, and residential

clients high-performance climate control solutions.

Founded in 1992 by Luciano Tredicesimo Ferroli, the

company has grown into one of Italy’s top five heat

pump manufacturers and a leading player in the

domestic air conditioning sector. Today, Maxa is

recognised globally for its expertise in residential,

commercial, and industrial air conditioning solutions.

At the core of Maxa’s mission are environmental

comfort, sustainable growth, and ecological

responsibility. These values underpin every stage

of their design and production processes, ensuring

that each system delivers efficiency, reliability,

and long-term value.

Maxa’s versatile portfolio of heating and cooling

solutions can be applied across a wide range

of environments – from domestic homes and

commercial offices to public facilities – whether

for new-build projects or retrofits. With a

comprehensive selection of heat pumps, Maxa

provides reliable, adaptable solutions tailored to

every installation requirement.

Through ESS, these advanced systems can be supplied

and installed wherever high-quality climate control

is needed – from cold, temperate environments to

tropical conditions – ensuring environmental comfort

and human wellbeing wherever they are deployed.

ESS is also recognised for its deep expertise and

extensive product knowledge across a wide range of

air source heat pumps and air conditioning systems.

Companies looking to transition to advanced

heating and cooling solutions often face the

challenge of sourcing skilled installers and

maintenance engineers. ESS recognises that

integrating new systems into commercial buildings

– particularly older properties – can be complex.

That’s why the company invests heavily in customer

support and comprehensive training programs.

A key challenge across the industry is the

shortage of qualified installers and technical

expertise. ESS addresses this through its ongoing

installer training programs for heat pumps,

equipping professionals with the skills needed to

optimise system performance. By partnering with

businesses, ESS ensures that organisations get

the maximum efficiency and reliability from their

heating and air conditioning systems.

Its highly skilled technical team supports both

complex industrial installations and standard

commercial applications, ensuring businesses

benefit from seamless access to the latest

high-performance, energy-efficient technologies.

Through strong partnerships with leading brands

such as Maxa, ESS consistently delivers cuttingedge

solutions to the UK market.

Beyond supply, ESS provides end-to-end support,

including pre-sales consultations, expert system

design guidance, comprehensive after-sales technical

assistance, and some of the industry’s most respected

ongoing training programs. With a strong commitment

to low-carbon and eco-friendly solutions, ESS is helping

businesses – one heat pump at a time – to achieve and

exceed their net zero and ESG objectives.

Haymarket Square Buildings

2 and 3: Gustafs Linear Rib

Acoustic Wall & Ceiling Products

Architect: Foster and Partners

Installer: MMM Joinery

Quantity: 2,000m 2

Specification: 38mm x 28mm and 22mm deep

ribs in Natural Oak veneer with 38mm gaps.

s part of the major Haymarket project

Ain Edinburgh, LSA supplied over 2,000m 2

of Gustafs Linear Ribs to the atrium space

between Buildings 2 and 3 of Haymarket

Square. Haymarket Square is a key part of

the commercial arm of the scheme by the

estate developers LSA worked with for the

Quartermile Edinburgh futures project in 2022.

This development spans 4 acres of commercial,

leisure, and retail space including 400k m 2 of

office space and 2 landmark hotels.

The rib system from LSA was specified by

masterplan architects Foster and Partners

for its acoustic performance and industry

leading resistance to fire classification.

Gustafs Linear rib in this format fixed with

38mm gaps achieves an impressive Class A

acoustic performance with minimal additional

acoustic mounting depth required. Ribs were

mounted in huge bays of up to 4m, arranged

vertically along life cores and horizontally

to balustrades around the atrium for an

elongating effect. Rib joints were staggered to

give the appearance of full length pieces and

the installation team from MMM did a great job

fulfilling this visual illusion.

In public areas like atriums and lift lobbies and

especially in high-rise modern developments,

fire safety is key and using products that will

impede the spread of flames is paramount.

Alongside all other products manufactured by

Gustafs top performance in the event of a fire

is a key selling feature especially when working

with timber products. Gustafs ribs achieve

Euroclass B, s1-d0 for spread of flames, smoke

production, and flaming droplets which makes

them one of the best performing timber

cladding materials on the market. This is lead

by their unique gypsum particleboard core

which is almost completely non-combustible

and stable in the event of fire; coupled with

their patented Capax mounting profiles the

system has been tented to be self sufficient

in the event of a fire and even to protect

supporting structure behind the installation.

LSA also worked on leased areas inside

Haymarket B4, supplying both linear ribs

and Gustafs panel system to staff areas,

lecture theatres, and lift lobbies.

LinkedIn Experience Centre, Farringdon

Architect: Ab Rogers Design

Installer: Denne Joinery

Quantity: 160m 2 Ribs and 200m 2 Panels

Spec: Maple Veneered Acoustic and Non-Acoustic

Panels and Red Painted Ash Veneered Ribs

SA projects are proud to have contributed two

Lour of acoustic products to the new LinkedIn

Experience Centre in Farringdon, the centre is a multiuse

events space designed to bring the professional

networking platform to life. The Experience centre

houses a events and conference theatre as well

as meeting spaces and hybrid working facilities for

staff and members. The design needed to be sleek

and intuitive using the best products available to

share the brand’s vision and ethos.

The acoustic panel system supplied by Gustafs was

used in both the theatre space and main entrance.

Multiple acoustic perforation patterns were applied

to the Maple veneered panels for an interesting and

dynamic texture on the walls. In the lecture theatre

a combination of PH5 and PD8 perforations were

used for both linear and offset round apertures,

both providing Class B acoustic performance.

Behind the reception desk panels were completed

with nano perforations – a unique pattern which

combines high-density performance rear holes with

an almost invisible microperforated face veneer.

Gustafs Linear ribs were used to clad the exterior

drum of the lecture theatre including the standout

moving-wall style doors on each side of the

space. This product is a versatile system which

lends itself to variable installations like this. With

a simple support structure (designed to house it’s

own acoustic fleece) it can be applied to flat and

curved surfaces on walls and ceilings, as well as to

doors and hatches without sacrificing any tested

metrics including fire and acoustic performance.

Designers chose to use natural Ash veneer as a

base for the signature red paint; this combination

gives a stand-back bold appearance whilst retaining

the natural texture of the timber when viewed

closely. The linear rib elements are also used as an

acoustic tool, combined with Gustafs’ high density

mineral wool the module build up achieves Class

C performance with minimal additional mounting

depth which is ideal to add enough sound dampening

to breakout spaces like this one.

Noise & Vibration Measurements

Revolutionising noise monitoring in factories and

warehouses: The power of cloud-connected solutions

n fast-paced industrial environments, noise is

Ian unavoidable by-product of operations. From

heavy machinery and conveyor belts to forklift

trucks and automated systems, these workplaces

generate significant levels of noise that, if left

unchecked, can post serious health risks to

workers. Effective noise monitoring is not just a

compliance requirement, it is a critical component

of occupational health and safety, ensuring a safer

and more productive workplace.

The Risks of Industrial Noise Exposure

Prolonged exposure to high noise levels can lead to

irreversible hearing damage, increased stress, and

reduced concentration, which in turn can heighten

the risk of workplace accidents.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) outlines strict

regulations under the Control of Noise at Work

Regulations 2005, mandating employers to assess

and manage noise exposure to protect employees.

Failure to adhere to these regulations can result

in legal repercussions, reduced productivity and

output, heightened absenteeism due to noiseinduced

health conditions, and even fines for

your organisation.

Quantum Indoor; The Ideal Solution

For businesses looking to enhance their noise

monitoring practices, the Quantum Indoor from

Cirrus Research offers an innovative and highly

effective solution. Designed specifically for indoor

environments such as factories, warehouses, and

manufacturing plants, Quantum Indoor provides

real-time noise monitoring with precision and ease.

Key features of Quantum Indoor:

S Continuous Monitoring: The device operates

24/7, capturing noise data throughout the day

to help identify problematic noise sources and

trends.

S Cloud Connectivity: Data is accessible

remotely via the cloud, allowing health and safety

managers to monitor noise levels from any

location.

S Custom Alerts: Quantum Indoor can be

configured to send instant notifications when

noise levels exceed safe thresholds, enabling

swift corrective action.

S Seamless Compliance: The system simplifies

compliance with HSE regulations, providing

accurate data and reporting tools essential

for audits and risk assessments.

Find out more about the Quantum Indoor on

the Cirrus Research Website today!

The Benefits of Cloud-Connected Monitoring

One of the standout features of Quantum Indoor

is its cloud-connected monitoring, which brings a

Solar Hybrid & Sustainability

Sustainable off-grid power

is no longer a trade-off

range of benefits to businesses operating in noiseintensive

environments.

S Remote Access to Data: With real-time

noise level tracking accessible from any device,

managers no longer need to be physically

present to monitor conditions.

S Improved Decision-Making: Historical noise

data and trend analysis help businesses make

informed decisions on noise control strategies

and equipment use.

S Automated Alerts & Reporting: Instant

notifications enable swift corrective actions,

while automatically generated reports simplify

regulatory compliance and auditing.

S Scalability: Cloud-connected systems can

be deployed across multiple sites, providing a

centralised view of noise levels across different

facilities.

S Reduced Downtime: By proactively identifying

and addressing noise issues, businesses can

minimise disruptions and maintain efficient

workflows.

By leveraging cloud technology, Quantum Indoor

enhances traditional noise monitoring, offering a

smarter, more efficient way to manage workplace noise.

cross construction, infrastructure and

Atemporary works, the expectations placed

on-site power have shifted. Cost remains critical,

but so do noise constraints, emissions targets,

ESG reporting requirements and the practical

reality that many locations simply do not suit

constant generator running. In that context,

the conversation is moving from ‘how do

we power this site?’ to ‘how do we power it

efficiently, quietly and with provable outcomes?’

Hybridisation is the clearest step-change. By

combining solar generation, lithium battery

storage and an intelligent backup generator

in one integrated system, modern hybrid power

reduces fuel burn without compromising uptime.

The key point is operational control: when the

system is genuinely ‘solar-first’ and demandmatched,

the generator becomes an occasional

support asset rather than a 24/7 necessity.

The result is fewer refuelling visits, reduced

maintenance exposure, lower noise and

immediate cost impact.

At SolGen, the focus has been on building

a mobile, off-grid solution that maximises

renewable contribution in real conditions, not

only in idealised demonstrations. Our ‘Sunflower’

tracking approach is designed to harvest more

energy than fixed arrays by automatically

optimising panel pitch and direction as the sun

angle changes, with bifacial technology to further

increase capture. In practical terms, this can

materially increase solar yield compared with

static systems, and that yield directly translates

into reduced generator runtime and fuel

consumption.

For many sites, the economics are now difficult

to ignore. When this power system can cut

fuel costs by up to £1,000 per week versus a

traditional diesel generator setup, while also

enabling substantial carbon reduction, hybrid

power becomes a commercial decision as much

as a sustainability one. SolGen systems are built

to generate the reporting that procurement

teams and ESG leads increasingly need: remote

monitoring, real-time and historical performance

data, fuel and CO 2

saving outputs, and exportable

reporting for audits and sustainability

submissions.

The direction of travel is clear. Sites that adopt

intelligent hybrid power early are not only

reducing emissions; they are stabilising operating

costs, improving working conditions, and derisking

compliance. The future of temporary

off-grid power will be defined by systems that

deliver measurable outcomes, automatically,

day after day.

Recycled plastic educational furniture

maintenance-free outdoor classroom products

sing Recycled Plastic Wood and Recycled Mixed

UPlastic Lumber collected from UK Homes and

Businesses – Eco friendly and Sustainable

Recycled plastic lumber or recycled plastic

wood, is made from taking your waste plastic and

processing it for reuse. 66% less energy is needed

than is required in production of virgin plastic, and

it releases a whopping 250% less carbon dioxide.

We turn this recycled plastic into aesthetically

pleasing, useful products, for the general public,

construction companies, local authorities, educational

institutions and hospitals all over the world.

All our products are recycled as well as being recyclable.

This is the ideal of recycling. It’s a closed loop.

All the plastic products we use as consumers

should be capable of recycling indefinitely making

for a sustainable future for our children and a

cleaner less toxic environment.

In some cases we also reuse rather than recycle.

For example, we have a Recycled Plastic

Compost Tumbler/Compost Bin –

appropriately named, ‘The Compost Creator.’

For this we reuse a food grade plastic drum

previously used to transport food products.

Reuse is vastly superior to simply recycling

There is no significant consumption of energy, as

there is no manufacturing process involving heavy

use of energy. We just drill a few holes in the drum

and clean it up as best we can.

Both recycling plastic as well as

reusing it keeps large amounts of

plastic waste out of expensive and

now difficult to find landfill.

This results in a lower carbon footprint and

reduced human contribution to global warming and

climate change.

Recycled Mixed Plastic Lumber, recycled HDPE and

recycled polystyrene (which is the primary waste

plastic in our recycled plastic wood or recycled

plastic timber) are what we make all our products

out of.

These, often brightly coloured, Recycled plastic

products are extremely durable and attractive.

They will maintain their appearance for many years

to come.

Our highly acclaimed Compost Tumbler, or

Compost Bin, Raised Beds, Garden Planters,

2 and 3 Seater Garden Benches, Sports

Benches, Play Dens, and other Outdoor

Classroom products are not flimsy and light,

but robust and solid enough not to blow away in

a gale.

Commercial Transport

Reducing fleet downtime and

protecting vehicle value in 2026

Commercial vehicle repair strategies

for UK fleets

n today’s commercial transport environment,

Idowntime is more than just an inconvenience

– it’s a tangible cost. For fleet managers,

engineers, business owners, and insurers

across the UK, every hour a vehicle is off the

road impacts productivity, delivery efficiency,

and profitability.

As a leading specialist in commercial vehicle

repairs in the UK, Spectrum VR Group

recognises that reducing fleet downtime while

safeguarding long-term vehicle value is vital in

2026 and beyond.

The true cost of fleet downtime

When a commercial vehicle requires accident

repair or structural bodywork, the

consequences go far beyond the workshop:

■ Missed operational targets

■ Costs of replacement hire vehicles

■ Increased insurance premiums

■ Disruption to fleet planning

For HGV operators and commercial fleet

managers, efficient accident repair is

essential. A quick turnaround must be balanced

with high-quality workmanship to ensure

vehicles return to service safely and in

compliance.

Electrical Products

Why choosing the right commercial

bodyshop matters

Not all repairers are prepared to manage

modern HGV and commercial vehicle

repairs. Advanced materials, manufacturer

specifications, and safety standards require

specialist expertise. As experienced HGV repair

specialists, Spectrum VR Group offers:

■ Precise and thorough damage assessment

■ Manufacturer-approved truck and van

repair techniques

■ Structural repairs conducted in accordance

with BS 10125 standards

■ Investment in modern equipment and repair

technology.

Maintaining recognised accreditations and

manufacturer approvals ensures repairs are

done correctly the first time – decreasing the

risk of repeat damage and prolonged downtime.

Reviewing your fleet repair strategy?

If you are reviewing your fleet vehicle repair

strategy in 2026, consider how accredited

workmanship, manufacturer approvals, and

efficient repair planning can reduce downtime

and enhance long-term performance. Choosing

a trusted commercial vehicle repair partner

isn’t just about fixing damage – it’s about

safeguarding your fleet investment, ensuring

compliance, and keeping your vehicles safely on

the road.

For four decades, Spectrum VR Group has

helped UK fleets minimise disruption and

maximise performance through professional,

responsible commercial vehicle repair.

Service Sealing Solutions Ltd –

suppliers of DOYMA products

Service Sealing Solutions Ltd are the sole UK distributor of DOYMA

products. Wherever services are installed through walls, ceilings or

floors, penetrating water may cause damage to buildings. Lack of

attention to the points of entry of pipes and cables into the building

can have serious results: damp cellars, equipment damaged by

water ingress and high repair costs. Service sealing systems ensure

professional and perfect pipe sealing, thus presenting excellent

preventative measures against structural damage. The very best in

German engineering is used to seal penetration points to the wall

to permanently prevent any infiltration of gases and water into the

building, and the duct sealing systems are guaranteed for 25 years.

Service Sealing Solutions supply the full range of products to suit all

situations for power cables, communication cables, pipes and ducts,

and specialising in sealing district heating pipes.

Bof Shropshire,

Service Sealing

Solutions Ltd is a

trusted leader in highquality

utility sealing

systems, supplying

innovative solutions

to both public and

private sector

projects across the

UK. Unlike traditional

distributors, the

company goes beyond

supply – providing

complete support

throughout every

stage of a project to

ensure contractors

achieve the best

outcomes in safety,

performance, and

compliance.

Founded by Company Director, Tina McAra,

the business was created in response to

a growing demand for advanced sealing

technologies that safeguard buildings

and infrastructure. Recognising

the opportunity to expand

nationally, Tina welcomed

her husband Jim into the

company to strengthen

its operational

capabilities and grow

its distribution network

across the country.

We caught up with Tina,

to see how the last 12

months have been for the

company:

“The last 12 months have been

extremely positive. Inquiries

are on a parr with last year, though our

conversion rate to order has improved. We

have slightly exceeded forecast with inquiries

and expected orders, likely to stay strong into

the early part of next year.”

Correct sealing plays a crucial role in ensuring

that utilities such as power, water, and

communications remain accessible throughout

a building’s lifespan. Not only does this simplify

maintenance with minimal disruption, but it

also protects structures from the costly and

harmful effects of water ingress. Wherever

ducts pass through walls, floors, or ceilings,

advanced sealing systems help prevent

moisture penetration, mitigating risks of

structural decay and maintaining

the integrity of assets for the

long term.

As the exclusive UK

distributor for two of

the sealing industry’s

most respected

manufacturers – DOYMA

and HKD – Service Sealing

Solutions Ltd delivers

premium products

engineered for

durability,

watertight

performance,

and compliance

with the highest industry

standards. Their extensive

portfolio of sealing solutions

supports a wide range of

utility applications, offering

reliability recognised by

contractors nationwide.

“The primary range of products

we sell has an industry leading 25-year

manufacturers backed guarantee. DOYMA

have had sealing products in service since the

1970’s which continue to perform, and we are

extremely proud to be technical partners and

distributors for DOYMA GmbH. We also have

some exciting product launches due for 2026!”

added Tina.

One of DOYMA’s most popular products

is the DOYMAfix ® which incorporates an

innovative design that guarantees simple,

fast, and safe installation of connection pipes

Maintenance in Balance

CMServices Global Ltd: At

the heart of Industry 5.0

or many industries, whilst Industry 4.0 is still

Fdominating with advancements in automation,

smart systems, robotics, big data analytics, AI,

machine learning and of course, the Internet of

Things (IoT), the focus for others is already on

Industry 5.0. Defined by the European Union as

‘placing the wellbeing of the worker at the centre

of the production process and using new

technologies to provide prosperity beyond jobs and

growth while respecting the production limits of

the planet.’ In short, we are shifting from economic

values to societal ones and embracing sustainability.

Condition monitoring is an important aspect of both

Industry 4.0 and 5.0 through the real-time tracking

of machine functionality but with the added bonus

of predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics

across a whole system.

AI now brings automated processing with faultless

accuracy, through seamless analysis of huge

chunks of data in real-time and identifying patterns

proactively, before a problem arises, such as pump

cavitation. This importantly allows on-site engineers

to schedule checks and repairs before a more costly

machine failure or malfunction occurs, later down

the line, contributing to the five Rs of the circular

economy: reduce, reuse, repair, refurbish and recycle.

CMServices Global Ltd is a market-leading

consultancy, offering AI condition monitoring

to diverse sectors from marine and offshore,

automotive, manufacturing, food and beverage,

postal sorting through to chemical, oil and gas.

For decades, the annual scheduling of manual

maintenance has been standard practice but

with the advent of AI monitoring, irregularities

can be identified through early warning prevention:

smart analysis of sensor data and the comparison

to standard historical data.

The Maintenance in Balance (MiB) software service

from CMServices Global Ltd brings Machine Learning

and AI together to provide diagnostic support for

assets, through condition monitoring techniques

that identify irregularities and provide further

diagnostic guidance.

The MiB asset condition assessment software provides

a cutting-edge, integrated platform for foresighted

ship machinery maintenance and furthermore,

drastically reduces inspection and maintenance costs,

up to £500 thousand per ship annually. Predictive fault

monitoring can decrease ship downtime from 7 to 1.5

days. With existing shipping delays due to geopolitical

conditions in the Red Sea and Panama Canal, this is

welcome news for the shipping industry.

That’s not all: MiB helps shipping vessels meet

compliant seaworthy regulations, giving quality

assurance across the board. The real genius of MiB

is it supplies an extra layer of real-time prescriptive

maintenance outputs, based on accurate condition

and systems performance data and provides

next-level operational performance across safety,

regulatory, environmental and business areas.

With rising costs, the annual lifecycle costs of

operating one ship amounts to a staggering £60

million and a third of the annual budget is spent on

repair and maintenance, to keep ships buoyant and

operational. Research has found that as much as

60% of all maintenance is in fact wholly unnecessary

and can even cause more issues going forward.

It’s no wonder then that MiB is in demand and when

we spoke to Simon, he said CMServices Global Ltd was

committed to ‘eight separate current pilot projects’

across cruise liners, container ships and oil and gas

industries, alongside a tender process in power

generation for three in Europe and two in the UK.

For more information on MiB and other

services, across any sector, please see

the website below:

https://cmservicesglobal.com

MAINTENANCE IN BALANCE, THE ONLY SOFTWARE YOU’LL EVER NEED!

MiB is a product/service that builds in diagnostic support for multiple assets via Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

MiB incorporates the diagnostic knowledge of expert diagnosticians in the conventions of mature condition monitoring techniques and

aligns this with AI functionality to identify true outliers and then offer meaningful diagnostic advice.

As more assets are managed remotely and fewer onboard personnel are sufficiently experienced to deal with all scenarios, it is becoming

clear that a marriage of technology and experience is needed to balance the equation.

Objectives

Using our asset condition assessment software MIB, we will create an integrated software platform for undertaking prescriptive

maintenance on your ship’s machinery, structures, and auxiliary systems. This will be achieved by using data from existing condition

monitoring, diagnostic sensors and systems, the implementation of advanced predictive analytics and the integration of a maintenance

actions/prescription database.

Based upon advanced, artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning algorithms MIB will prescribe, the most appropriate maintenance strategy in

real-time for every asset under its control, based on the subtle but pre-alarm indications of emerging faults that will occur at a future time.

Specific objectives of MIB are to:

ä Establish the monitoring and maintenance needs of each vessel

ä Specify the software platform parameters based on each vessel’s requirements

ä Deploy our intelligent monitoring software module

ä Integrate the module into the MIB platform and provide routine updates to the crew

Deep Hole Drilling

UNISIG launches assemble-to-order

program for UNE gundrilling machines

NISIG, a global leader in deep hole drilling

Umachines and technology, has launched

a new assemble-to-order program for its

versatile UNE series gundrilling machines.

Designed to combine the speed of fast

delivery with the flexibility of custom

configuration, the program redefines

how job shops and manufacturers

acquire critical gundrilling capabilities.

“Gundrilling machines are not as common as

CNC mills or lathes, but that doesn’t mean

customers should settle for longer lead

times, compromises in performance, or poor

service,” said Anthony Fettig, CEO of UNISIG.

“With this new program, we’re making it

easier than ever to say yes to gundrilling.”

UNISIG’s assemble-to-order initiative

maintains inventory of all major components

of the UNE series, allowing machines to

be assembled to each customer’s exact

specifications – without the waste or

delays associated with pre-built stock or

full custom builds. With shorter lead times,

often half that of traditional build-to-order

systems, customers can get precisely what

they need faster.

“At UNISIG, we’re always focused on what’s

next, and our assemble-to-order program is

a prime example,” added Fettig. “Implementing

this approach has modernized key areas

of our operations by improving machine

quality, shortening lead times, and giving us

better visibility into service part needs and

inventory management.”

This effort required deep co-ordination

across engineering, supply chain,

manufacturing, and customer service.

Modular machine designs, synchronized ERP

systems, and automated planning tools allow

UNISIG to deliver tailored machines while

maintaining tight control over quality, cost,

and inventory.
