Program Note
The color indigo is one of the most beautifully lush colors in the world partly due
to the color’s rareness in nature. As the color is so unique and rare, so are the
emotional connections we make with one another. To me, the color indigo represents
reflection, cohesiveness, and a hopeful future, and the piece “Indigo” is the story of
two individuals sitting in a field under the night sky filled with shining stars and
blissful moonlight reflecting on the past and looking into the future together.
It is thought as a part of “New Age Beliefs” that an “Indigo Individual” is a person
that may experience emotions more intensely or have a deep connection to their inner
selves. Some believe that “Indigo Individuals” may feel a strong sense of empathy,
compassion, and a desire to make a positive change in the world. This piece is
dedicated to Cody Keane, who is the most “Indigo Individual” I know.
