From family-friendly experiences to major cultural and artistic events, via historic trails, scenic beaches,

sporting activities and local traditions, Ticino offers a summer that combines discovery, fun and authenticity.

On the trail of the treasure

A map, whether paper or digital, is every traveller’s companion. But what if it could hide a secret? Treasure hunts

spread across the canton transform simple exploration into a real adventure, guiding visitors to new places

through riddles, challenges and a touch of magic.

The activities are perfectly suited to all ages. The “Sacred Tree of Curzutt” treasure hunt invites families and

groups of friends to explore the charming area of Curzutt through riddles and collaboration, revealing fascinating

landscapes and stories. In Bellinzona, meanwhile, the famous medieval chef Maestro Martino takes younger

visitors through the streets of the city on a journey to discover the secrets of his cuisine.

Days filled with dolce vita

Life flows gently in the Locarno area. Between a stop by the river and an aperitif, there’s always time for a visit to an

authentic grotto. The Vallemaggia is rich in such places, as well as in tradition and history. Those wishing to fully

embrace this experience will find the charming “Cevio and the Grotti” trail in Cevio, which reveals about sixty

ancient, airy cellars that have remained untouched by time. After picking up a typical local picnic, the exploration

becomes a real journey back in time.

At the end of the day, the perfect ending awaits you on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Shaka Beach in Vira Gambarogno

is the ideal spot for an aperitif with a view of the sunset, where the landscape is bathed in gold and the Ticino dolce

vita reaches its peak.

A day between history and nature

Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Monte San Giorgio is a fascinating historical site. This recognition is

due to the fossil finds that show how, over 200 million years ago, this mountain was in fact a primordial sea.

The Monte San Giorgio Fossil Museum is an unmissable stop. In addition to its collection of specimens extracted

from 1850 to the present day, the museum captivates visitors with augmented and virtual reality experiences,

allowing them to immerse themselves in a world that has long since vanished. A short walk from the museum leads

to the Val Mara viewing terrace, where some of the mountain’s most impressive fossil sites can be discovered.

Continuing on, the Aula Ghiffo welcomes visitors to an educational space surrounded by nature, open to everyone

for an authentic learning experience.

A stage under the sky

Summer in Lugano means LongLake Festival. An unmissable opportunity to discover an extraordinary variety of

cultural and artistic experiences, all set on the charming shores of Lake Lugano.

Exciting theatre performances, creative workshops for all ages, dance events and live concerts bring the festival’s

days and evenings to life. The Estival Jazz opens the programme with unforgettable evenings dedicated to jazz music

in all its forms, creating an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. In addition to this, other events at the LongLake

Festival feature blues, rap and a variety of musical genres, offering every visitor the chance to discover new artists

and sounds.

The call of the water

From the peaks of small alpine lakes to the vast bodies of water in the valley floors, the canton of Ticino offers

unforgettable experiences for those who love water in all its forms, whether it be adrenaline-fuelled adventures or

days devoted to pure relaxation.

Ticino’s lakes are a prime destination for those seeking well-being and tranquillity. The beach at Lido di Melano,

right at the foot of Monte Generoso, invites you to enjoy moments of peaceful pleasure on the fine sand. The Lido di

Lugano, in the city centre, offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is not only the lakes that

offer wonderful, refreshing spaces; in Avegno, on the banks of the Maggia River, a natural beach provides charming

scenery for those seeking a more intimate experience.

The Grotti Tour departs from Lugano and Paradiso, an unmissable experience for lovers of Ticino’s cuisine and

waters. A series of evening trips takes guests by boat to magnificent grottos overlooking Lake Ceresio, allowing them

to combine an excellent dinner with an enchanting boat trip.

For action lovers, Ticino does not disappoint. On Lake Lugano, stand-up paddling allows you to explore the waters

at your own pace and from a whole new perspective. Those with more time to spare who wish to discover a

fascinating sport can head to Lake Maggiore, where sailing courses are available. And for those who truly want to

push the boundaries of adventure, the canyoning tour in Cresciano offers a unique experience in Switzerland.

Whether your passion is fast-paced activities, being on the move or connecting with nature, Ticino offers

unparalleled water-based activities. The only thing missing is the time to discover them all.
