Outback Wrap
Outback wrap is a simple hose
identification system that
doesn’t become brittle like
other hose tags or identifiers.
The colour is part of the
molding process so it won’t
fade overtime. The wrap is
primarily utilised in agriculture,
but can also be used on any
equipment that requires cables,
cords, wires, hoses, and also
computer, sound or gaming
equipment to be protected
from wear or damage.
This product helps simplify
connecting equipment to the
tractor with colour and number
identification. Here are some
positives to using Outback Wrap:
ä Can withstand temperatures
from -50 o C to +100 o C
ä It’s Polyethylene so it won’t
crack or fade.
ä They aren’t affected by
grease, oil, or dirt so they
are easily cleaned with any
solvent or soap
ä No tools are required and
they are easily changed to
suit the operator.
Fire Safety
Sticks
The Fire Safety Stick (FSS)
is a manual, portable fire
extinguishing device. It uses
a Potassium ion jet (a unique
method among conventional
fire extinguishers) that works
by interrupting a fire’s chain of
reaction (the ‘auto-catalyst’ of
the fire).
Fire Safety Stick is composed
of stable, solid minerals; it
does not contain gas and is not
pressurised. The aerosol-like
jet is only produced when the
charger is struck with its base.
The produced aerosol jet is free
of thrust and is essentially an
inert salt that emits gas already
present in the atmosphere.
Take a look at some of the
comparisons below to show
why fire safety sticks are a
brilliant idea.
Oxrocks
Adaptors
No more mess – This adapter
makes greasing hassle free.
It converts the old metal
cartridge with plunger into
the new screw cartridges. The
metal cartridge is no longer
required. Just simply remove
the metal cartridge and insert
the oxrock adapter, once you
have tightened, place your
grease cartridge in and tighten
correctly and the grease gun
is good to go. No bleeding
required. It saves time changing
the cartridge and also saves
a lot of mess. Rather than
struggling to remove the
grease cartridge from the metal
cartridge and getting grease
everywhere in the process,
there is now the simplified way
of unscrewing and screwing
back in. Greasing made easy!

Rural Crime Reduction Company of the Month
Expert risk managers helping
to reduce rural crime
In this issue of AgriWorld UK,
we have featured Rural SafeGuard
as our Rural Crime Reduction
Company of the Month
Rural SafeGuard is the UK’s first,
commercially available, national
programme designed to reduce
rural crime before it happens. Backed by
knowledgeable, trusted, and experienced
security consultants, this nationwide initiative
aims to assist farmers and landowners in
minimising their crime risk and create a
safer rural environment for all.
Founded by five Chartered Security Professionals
working at senior levels across the UK and
international security sectors, Rural SafeGuard
is a programme within the long-established risk
management company, Optimal Risk Group
that operates nationally across the UK through a
virtual, co-operative model made up of suitably
qualified and experienced security consultants
who can apply their expertise within the
agricultural sector.
Initially the idea for Rural SafeGuard was developed
by Frank Cannon. Drawing on his upbringing in a
farming family, his military background, and his
later career in commercial security, the aim was
to bring proven security knowledge back to the
rural sector in a way that is affordable, practical,
and relevant for farmers.
Rural SafeGuard’s core methodology is to help
vulnerable and isolated members of the rural
community deter, detect, and delay crime so they
can activate a pre-prepared response that keeps
people safe and property secure.
Uniquely the programme adapts expertise from
commercial security, policing and military
backgrounds to resonate with farmers and rural
businesses and promotes affordable, layered
security measures that strengthen resilience
without unduly disrupting day-to-day farm
activity.
Its broad range of services are designed to help
farms become safer and more resilient, without
turning them into fortresses. The company not only
offers farm security reviews and knowledge-sharing
resources, but also trusted partner signposting
which connects clients with affordable equipment,
technology, and service providers. Additionally
Rural SafeGuard provides post-incident support,
reviewing incidents and identifying root causes
and exploited vulnerabilities.
Alongside its core information sharing services
the team also produces a weekly podcast called
Close the Farm Gate, which shares practical
advice, good practice, and expert insight relevant
to farmers, landowners, growers, and the wider
rural community.
What sets Rural SafeGuard apart, is its ability to
deliver a nationally co-ordinated service through
locally available consultants. While its longerterm
ambition is to place a suitably qualified and
experienced consultant within an hour’s drive
of every farm in the UK, the immediate impact
of this system is fundamentally changing the
landscape of rural security.
The programme’s
leadership is
also a major
differentiator.
It is led by
chartered security
professionals, a
rare certification
in the UK, and
draws consultants from respected industry
bodies such as The Security Institute and the
Association of Security Consultants.
The founding team combines academic and
vocational qualifications with practical field
experience, creating a blend of theory and practice
that allows Rural SafeGuard to translate high-level
security thinking into realistic, proportionate
action for farms and rural enterprises.
Rural SafeGuard’s unique approach is paying off
for the company. Its four-hour crime reduction
awareness and knowledge-sharing workshop
is ready to go and the company is now focusing
on broader engagement and delivery after a 20-
month developmental phase.
Looking forward, Rural SafeGuard is actively
seeking sponsorship and partners to support its
growth. The programme also plans to continue
sharing knowledge, gathering feedback, and
expanding its library of toolbox talks, guides,
and best-practice resources. Its long-term
goal is to become a trusted voice in affordable,
proportionate rural crime reduction.
Rural SafeGuard’s mission to help farmers take
a proactive approach to crime reduction, rather
than reacting only after an incident occurs,
is changing the face of rural crime reduction.
By taking a multi-level approach, the company
actively promotes deterrence and is helping to
create a safer rural environment for all.

Agriculture Machinery Company of the Month
More than power harrows
and flails: The Maschio
Gaspardo story
In this issue of AgriWorld UK, we are pleased to
feature MASCHIO GASPARDO UK Limited as our
Agriculture Machinery Company of the Month
business combines global manufacturing strength with
responsive local support.
F
ounded in 1964 in Campodarsego, Veneto, Italy,
MASCHIO GASPARDO was established by
brothers Antonio, Egidio and Giorgio Maschio.
What began as a small artisanal workshop producing
rotary tillers quickly evolved into one of the world’s
leading agricultural machinery manufacturers.
Built on a family ethos of hard work, reliability
and understanding the real needs of farmers, the
business has now spent more than 60 years developing
machinery designed to deliver practical performance
in the field.
The entrepreneurial vision of the Maschio brothers was
rooted in the agricultural traditions of northern Italy
and a desire to create durable, accessible equipment
that improved efficiency for working farms. Over the
decades, the company expanded through strategic
acquisitions, international production facilities and
commercial branches across Europe, Asia and North
America. A defining moment came in 1993 with the
acquisition of Gaspardo Seminatrici,
which strengthened the Group’s
expertise in precision seeding
technology and accelerated its
international growth.
Today, MASCHIO GASPARDO produces around 67,000
machines annually across nine production plants and
15 commercial branches worldwide. Investment in
precision farming, robotics and sustainable technologies
continues to drive the business forward, while its
expansion into the UK market in 2023 reflects a longterm
commitment to supporting British farmers,
contractors and land managers.
Importantly, MASCHIO GASPARDO is far more than
a specialist machinery manufacturer. While many
farmers still associate ‘Maschio’ with power harrows
and ‘Gaspardo’ with seed drills, the two historic brands
operate as one unified Group
offering a complete machinery
solution for the entire agronomic
cycle. From tillage and drilling
through to crop care, haymaking
and baling, the company provides
a fully integrated product range
designed to simplify operations for
modern farms.
The Group is also one of the world’s
largest manufacture of power harrows, producing
machines up to 10 metres wide, alongside awardwinning
innovations such as the CHRONO high-speed
precision planter range. Supporting this is a growing
UK spare parts stockholding currently around £2.5
million, ensuring customers receive fast turnaround and
dependable aftersales support when it matters most.
Backed by dedicated sales, service and parts teams, the
“Being a partner means being there when you need us,”
says Mike Bywater, UK Sales & Marketing Manager. “We
work to ensure operational continuity with available
spare parts, competent technical support and quick
response times. The goal is to keep machines running
during the season, reducing downtime and uncertainty.”
“We also offer a complete range for the main stages of
the agronomic cycle: from soil preparation to sowing,
fertilisation and crop protection, through to green
space maintenance and haymaking. A consistent and
integrated Full Line simplifies choices and management
for farmers, delivering greater efficiency and continuity.”
Looking ahead, the company is focused on continuing the
growth of its UK operations, strengthening market share
and further enhancing service and product support while
maintaining a strong customer-first approach. Further
reinforcing its UK presence, MASCHIO GASPARDO also
acts as the sole importer for Grégoire Besson, the French
manufacturer specialising in ploughing and deep tillage
equipment. This partnership fills an important gap in the
market, giving UK customers improved access to both
new machinery and essential spare parts that have often
been difficult to source.

Changing the landscape
of agricultural finance
Finance Innovation Award
In this issue of AgriWorld UK, we have
featured Farm & Estate Asset Finance Ltd.
as our Finance Innovation Award Winner
F
inance in agriculture can be difficult. Unlike other
industries, the seasonal income and front-loaded
cost mean long-term, robust investment is a
constant necessity for farmers across the UK and
funding needs to be both flexible and realistic.
This is where Farm & Estate Asset Finance comes in. Acting
as a link between borrowers and lenders, the company
helps to structure agreements that reflect the pressures
and opportunities within farming. Set up to provide a
comprehensive financial support centre for rural businesses,
Farm & Estate Asset Finance provides everything from
lending on land and buildings, to plant and machinery loans.
Based in Aberdeenshire, Farm & Estate Asset Finance has
been helping rural businesses since 2022, and this up-andcoming
company has quickly developed a reputation for
outstanding customer service and a flair for innovation
within agricultural finance.
The company works with all sectors within the rural
industry from farms and estates, to contractors and food
processors and distributors. As well as this, Farm & Estate
Asset Finance is at the forefront of asset diversification
from renewable energy, helping farm shops with fitting
out and retail POS support.
Farm & Estate Asset Finance’s range of financial
products covers the entire sector and the company offers
agricultural and commercial mortgages with access to
over 60 lenders covering all aspects of the finance industry,
from high street lenders to specialist asset funders.
While most financial services cover a wide range of
different industrial clients, Farm & Estate Asset Finance
focuses purely on agricultural and rural businesses.
This specific expertise in agricultural finance is a key
differentiator for the company and has set them apart
in an often confusing market for borrowers.
“Farming is a specialised industry. Knowing the various
enterprises within farming enables us to provide finance
best suited to that enterprise.” explains John Sorrie,
Director, Commercial Finance Specialist and Agri-
Business Consultant at Farm & Estate Asset Finance.
“This can be from planting to harvesting machinery to
end product production lines, packaging machines and
distribution from vans to HGV’s.”
“Our knowledge of farming and finance allows us to
package proposals to suit both the farmer and the lender.”
John goes on to say, “Providing a fully packaged deal allows
a lender to make a fast decision and allow the farmer the
opportunity to act quickly on projects or purchases.”
This in-depth knowledge of the agricultural sector and
its needs, allows Farm & Estate Asset Finance to not only
move quickly on opportunities for farmers and innovate
its offering, but builds a deeper connection with clients
that can help them prosper.
“Straight monthly repayments don’t suit everyone as many
farming enterprises have times when cashflow is weak
and other times when cashflow is strong i.e. when selling
finished livestock or crop sales.” says John, “To us, finance
innovation is being able to structure finance deals to suit a
farmers cashflow or benefit from seasonal income.”
A key part of the business is this straightforward, personal
approach. For many farmers, navigating finance options can
feel unnecessarily complicated. By keeping communication
clear and accessible, and by taking the time to understand
individual businesses, the company aims to remove some of
that friction and make the process more manageable.
“Our approach is still,
where possible, to go
and see the client to get
a full picture of their
particular needs or if
there is urgency, to be
able to come up with a
product that is quick to
achieve and to get the
funds quickly into the
clients bank account.”
says John.
We asked John what it meant to win the award, “It has
come as a surprise but a great honour to win this award.
Our dedication to providing finance to rural enterprises
is at the heart of our business, so we must be doing
something right to get this honour!”
Farm & Estate Asset Finance emphasis on tailored solutions
and close client relations, is offering farmers solutions
rather than creating roadblocks. Its varied portfolio
of products and easy to manage, personal approach is
changing the landscape of agricultural investment,
as well as providing opportunities to rural businesses
to grow, diversify and safeguard in uncertain times.
By combining its expert knowledge of the sector with a
deeper relationship with its clients, Farm & Estate Asset
Finance is not only carving out its place at the forefront of
agricultural finance, but highlighting the fact that farming
is not just as a business, but a way of life shaped by longterm
planning and careful investment.

Energy Company of the Month
Powering the transition to practical,
profitable clean energy
Tom Lloyd, RenEnergy UK Ltd Sales
Director with George the dog
In this issue of AgriWorld UK, we are pleased to feature
RenEnergy UK Ltd as our Energy Company of the Month
enEnergy was founded in 2006 with a clear
and enduring vision: to make clean energy
Rboth practical and profitable. From the outset,
this principle has shaped the company’s approach to
delivering renewable energy solutions that are both
technically effective and commercially viable. Over the
past two decades, this focus has enabled RenEnergy
to establish itself as a trusted partner within the UK’s
renewable energy and decarbonisation sector.
The company’s journey reached a significant milestone
in 2023 when it became part of the Aggreko Group, a
global leader in engineered energy and temperature
solutions. This acquisition marked a major step forward
in RenEnergy’s evolution, strengthening its access to
international expertise, technical capability, and largescale
delivery resources. It also positioned the business
to support increasingly complex, multi-site energy
infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond.
Headquartered in Blofield Heath, near Norwich in
Norfolk, RenEnergy UK Ltd operates from Blofield
Business Centre and delivers projects nationwide. From
this base, the company supports a diverse portfolio of
commercial, industrial, public sector, and agricultural
clients, providing tailored clean energy systems designed
to help organisations reduce emissions, improve
efficiency, and strengthen long-term energy resilience.
At its core, RenEnergy is a specialist commercial
renewable energy engineering company operating
within the UK’s distributed energy and decarbonisation
landscape. Its integrated offering includes solar
photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage
systems (BESS), electric vehicle (EV) charging
infrastructure, and intelligent energy management
technologies. Together, these technologies enable
organisations to take greater control of energy
consumption, reduce exposure to volatile energy
markets, and significantly lower carbon emissions.
As energy systems become increasingly complex and
organisations face mounting pressure to meet net zero
targets, the need for integrated, scalable solutions
continues to grow. RenEnergy’s approach is designed
specifically to address this challenge by combining
technical engineering expertise with long-term strategic
energy planning. This ensures that solutions are not
only effective at the point of installation but remain
adaptable as regulations, technologies, and operational
demands evolve.
A key differentiator for RenEnergy is its fully integrated
end-to-end delivery model. The company provides a
complete service covering consultancy, feasibility studies,
system design, engineering, project management,
installation, and ongoing asset management. This
end-to-end approach ensures clients benefit from a
seamless experience and a single point of accountability
throughout the entire project lifecycle.
By managing every stage internally, RenEnergy reduces
complexity for clients while improving consistency,
quality control, and performance outcomes. It also
ensures that systems are designed with long-term
operational efficiency in mind, rather than short-term
installation priorities. In sectors where energy reliability,
compliance, and uptime are critical, this level of
oversight provides significant value.
RenEnergy works across a wide range of industries,
including commercial and industrial operators, public
sector organisations, and agricultural enterprises.
Each sector presents its own challenges, particularly
in relation to energy security, cost volatility, and
sustainability commitments, all of which require
carefully tailored solutions.
In agriculture, the company has played a particularly
important role in helping farms transition towards
greater energy independence. Agricultural operations
such as grain drying, cold storage, livestock housing,
and food processing are highly energy-intensive and
require constant, reliable power supply. This makes them
particularly vulnerable to fluctuations in energy pricing
and grid dependency.
12
AgriWorld UK is sponsored by Farm & Estate Asset Finance – see them on pages 8-9
Energy Company of the Month
RenEnergy has supported agricultural clients in
deploying solar PV and battery storage systems that
significantly reduce reliance on grid electricity while
improving operational control. Increasingly, farms are
viewing energy not simply as a fixed overhead but as a
strategic asset that can be actively managed to improve
profitability, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
To support this transition, RenEnergy offers flexible
financing solutions, including Power Purchase
Agreements (PPAs). These arrangements allow customers
to access renewable energy systems without any upfront
capital investment. Instead, energy is purchased at
an agreed fixed rate, enabling immediate operational
savings and greater long-term financial predictability.
Alongside financing flexibility, the company also
provides long-term asset management services designed
to ensure continued system performance. These
include monitoring, preventative maintenance, and
optimisation services tailored to each client’s operational
requirements. This ongoing support ensures systems
remain efficient and continue to deliver value throughout
their operational life.
By combining roof-mounted and ground-mounted
solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, and battery
energy storage systems, RenEnergy delivers scalable
solutions that can evolve in line with changing business
requirements. This flexibility is particularly important
for organisations experiencing growth or operational
expansion.
A strong example of RenEnergy’s integrated approach
can be seen in the P.G. Rix Farms and Stourgarden
project in Suffolk. The site operates on a large scale,
processing over 100,000 tonnes of onions annually and
running 364 days a year. Such continuous operations
require a highly reliable and resilient energy supply to
support drying, storage, and processing activities.
Working closely with the client, RenEnergy developed
a multi-phase renewable energy strategy designed to
significantly reduce operational energy costs while
improving resilience and sustainability performance.
The system includes 1.99MWp of installed solar capacity,
supported by 4,790 solar panels and 32 inverters.
The installation has delivered a range of measurable
benefits, including stabilised energy costs, reduced
exposure to energy market volatility, and improved longterm
operational predictability. Importantly, it has also
strengthened energy independence, allowing the business
to maintain greater control over its energy requirements.
To date, RenEnergy UK Ltd has installed over 110MW of
solar PV capacity across multiple sectors. This milestone
reflects both the scale of its delivery capability and its
continued growth within the UK renewable energy market.
Guided by its philosophy of delivering ‘smart energy
solutions for forward-thinking businesses,’ RenEnergy
continues to focus on combining engineering expertise with
long-term partnership. This ensures each project delivers
not only technical success but also measurable commercial
and environmental value tailored to client needs.
Another strong example of this capability is the Top
Farm project in the leisure and hospitality sector. Here,
RenEnergy designed, installed, and commissioned a fully
integrated renewable energy system for a camping and
caravan site, connecting the installation to two single-phase
circuits supplying accommodation and site facilities.
Delivered through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA),
the project enabled the client to adopt renewable energy
without upfront capital investment. This structure provided
immediate financial benefits through reduced operational
energy costs, while also delivering long-term pricing
stability and reducing exposure to market volatility.
The installation includes a 50kWp ground-mounted solar PV
array, four 10kW Fronius inverters, a 57kWh Fronius Reserva
battery storage system, two KEBA P40 Pro EV chargers, and a
Payter contactless payment terminal. Together, these systems
are expected to generate approximately 50,000kWh annually,
with around 80% of energy consumed directly on-site.
The benefits extend well beyond cost reduction. The
system has improved energy independence, enhanced
sustainability credentials, and introduced EV charging
infrastructure to support both current and future
demand growth. Importantly, the project was delivered
with minimal disruption, ensuring continuity of
operations throughout installation.
The Top Farm case study highlights RenEnergy’s
ability to integrate multiple technologies into a single
cohesive system. By combining solar generation, battery
storage, and smart energy management, the company
delivers solutions that are both technically robust and
commercially effective.
RenEnergy’s growth over recent years has been shaped
by several significant milestones. The 2024 acquisition by
the Aggreko Group represents one of the most important
developments in the company’s history. This partnership
has strengthened access to global engineering expertise,
expanded operational capability, and provided additional
resources to support large-scale project delivery.
In January 2026, the company further strengthened its
leadership team with the appointment of Managing
Director Keith Hobbs. His arrival brings additional
strategic direction and industry experience at a time
when demand for integrated clean energy solutions
continues to accelerate across multiple sectors.
This period of transformation coincides with RenEnergy’s
20th anniversary since incorporation. The milestone
marks two decades of innovation, growth, and
commitment to advancing renewable energy adoption in
the UK, reflecting the company’s long-standing ambition
to make clean energy both practical and profitable.
Looking ahead, RenEnergy’s strategy is firmly focused
on expanding its role as a leading provider of integrated
clean energy systems across the UK. The company
continues to accelerate deployment of solar PV, battery
storage, EV charging infrastructure, and smart energy
technologies to help organisations reduce emissions,
improve efficiency, and strengthen energy resilience.
With the backing of the Aggreko Group, RenEnergy
is well positioned to scale its operations and deliver
increasingly complex energy infrastructure projects.
This global partnership enhances technical capability
and supports continued innovation in areas such
as energy optimisation, decentralised systems,
and advanced storage technologies.
At its core, RenEnergy remains committed to practical
innovation and customer-focused delivery. The company
continues to develop tailored energy strategies aligned
with each client’s operational requirements, ensuring
that every project delivers measurable environmental
and commercial outcomes.
Beyond technology and expansion, RenEnergy continues
to play an active role in supporting the UK’s transition
to a low-carbon economy. By enabling organisations to
take greater control of their energy usage, the company
helps reduce reliance on traditional grid systems while
improving cost predictability and energy security.
In closing, RenEnergy is playing an increasingly important

Vehicle Security Company of the Month
Technologically advanced
vehicle security
In this issue of AgriWorld UK, we have featured Datatag ID as our
Vehicle Security Company of the Month
Datatag was established in 1992 by the
MITSUI & Co Corporation of Japan and
Yamaha Motor UK Ltd in response to the
growing issue of motorcycle theft, which heavily
impacted the UK market. Datatag addressed the
specific issue of stolen motorcycles being broken
down into parts with its unique approach of
providing multiple layers of permanent security
marking technologies, something which continues
to underpin its success today.
Fitted by more brands as standard than any
other in the sector, Datatag is the country’s most
trusted security marking company and has won a
variety of awards over the years for its innovation,
commitment to security and theft prevention.
Today, Datatag is considered a leader in the
market and continues its tradition for security
and innovation.
Currently based in Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey,
having moved to new offices in May 2023, the
company’s professional team members and expert
support system work across the UK. Datatag works
with businesses and individuals of all types, who
own a valuable piece of business-critical machinery
or an irreplaceable personal item.
Datatag protects vehicles and property by providing
industry-leading and technologically advanced
forensic security marking for valuable assets,
property and vehicles. The company operates in
many markets including motorcycles, power tools,
leisure vehicles, marine and bicycles and its systems
are fitted as standard by the likes of Suzuki, BMW,
Harley Davidson and Kawasaki, as well as trailer
manufacturer Ifor Williams.
Datatag’s unique offering is anchored in its multilayered
approach to security, which includes visible
identifiers which allow police easy access to the true
provenance of any marked asset without the need
for any expensive equipment.
These visual identifiers are complemented by a
range of technologies like microdots or Datadots®,
tamper-evident security labels with unique
identifiers and QR codes, ultra-violet ‘stealth’
etching, UHF RFID transponders and even forensic
DNA solutions. Combining these ensures that
once marked with a Datatag system any asset is
always identifiable by police regardless of how
hard a criminal may try to hide, remove or change
its identity. Each system allows owners to protect
assets for a low one-off cost with no annual fees or
registration costs.
However, Datatag’s biggest markets by far are
in construction and agriculture, where it serves,
as the delivery partner to the CEA (Construction
Equipment Association) owned CESAR Scheme,
which is supported by the AEA (Agricultural
Engineers Association). The management and
growth of the CESAR Scheme has made it arguably
the world’s most successful security marking and
registration scheme, with over 80% of products
sold into the UK now protected as standard. Over
700,000 systems have been supplied to major
brands such as JCB, John Deere, Volvo, Manitou,
16

Vehicle Security Company of the Month
Merlo, Massey Ferguson, Case IH, New Holland and
Kubota to name just a few.
Datatag is constantly evolving the CESAR Scheme
technologies and recently developed highly secure
ultra high frequency long range RFID transponders
that are hidden within the vehicle or machinery.
These UHF transponders have a read range of up to
20 metres, however, in perfect conditions Datatag
has achieved read ranges of 30 metres! Each
transponder is totally unique and being passive
require no battery to power them.
Datatag’s support for the agri market is bolstered by
its systems specifically aimed at protecting trailers,
4x4s and GPS units, all using its multi-layered
approach.
To support all their systems Datatag has recently
developed a class-leading, web-enabled database
search app called RAPID (Registered Asset Police
Information Database) which allows police instant
access to almost all of its protected asset databases,
including CESAR, marine, motorcycle, trailer, and
power tool. RAPID combines all machine, police
and insurance data, making it very easy for a police
officer to check machines 24/7. Plus, this app also
has over 130 videos to help officers easily identify
where on a machine they can locate the VIN or
chassis identifiers.
The development of the new
RAPID data app has significantly
enhanced the UK Police’s ability
to check stolen data. So much
so that in just over a year, the
company has seen data checks
increase from a few thousand
enquiries to over 25,000 checks.
Around 2,500 police officers
from all around the UK now have
access to the system and this
positively impacts their ability to
easily and quickly identify stolen
or suspect machines, leading
to prosecutions and the return
of stolen machinery to the registered keeper or
insurance company.
As Datatag looks forward, it continues to evolve
alongside the market. CEO and Managing Director,
Kevin Howells explains, “Since most OEMs now
protect their customers’ machines as standard, our
role is to continue developing the technologies and
providing excellent support for customers, police
and law enforcement.” he says, “Looking to the
future, we will work more closely with the insurance
industry and expand the initiative into Europe
and worldwide. Machinery theft is not unique to
the UK and is a huge global problem since valuable
machines are always in high demand.”
Datatag has built its reputation as the leading
security marking company in the UK by not only
providing cutting-edge technologies and innovative
solutions, but by being responsive to the customers it
serves. By continually investing in its own products,
as well as supplementary services, Datatag continues
to lead from the front, protecting the nation’s most
valuable assets and ensuring security for the future.

Groundswell Festival 2026 Preview
Regenerative agriculture’s
biggest gathering returns
The Groundswell Festival will take place on
Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd July at Lannock Farm
Lannock Farm
1st-2nd July 2026
G
roundswell 2026 returns bringing together
thousands of farmers, growers, advisers,
researchers and food system professionals
for what has become the UK’s premier regenerative
agriculture festival.
Founded by the Cherry family, Groundswell has grown
from a niche event into one of the most influential
gatherings in the farming calendar. Its mission is
to provide a forum where farmers can learn how to
improve soil health, increase biodiversity, build resilient
businesses and produce food in ways that benefit both the
environment and the bottom line.
Previous visitors described regenerative agriculture as
a movement that puts farmers first again, connecting
profitability with responsibility. They spoke of healthier
soils, stronger farm businesses and more resilient food
systems capable of meeting the challenges facing modern
agriculture. Above all, they continuously praised the sense
of community that has become Groundswell’s hallmark.
Unlike traditional agricultural shows, Groundswell
combines practical field demonstrations with thoughtprovoking
discussions about the future of farming.
Visitors can move from soil pits and machinery
demonstrations to seminars on food systems, climate
resilience, biodiversity and agricultural innovation,
all within the setting of a working farm.
This year’s agenda will feature hundreds of sessions
across multiple stages and learning spaces. Topics include
soil health, livestock integration, regenerative cropping
systems, cover crops, direct drilling, water management,
carbon measurement, biodiversity enhancement and farm
business resilience.
There will also be discussions exploring broader
themes such as food culture, storytelling, consumer
engagement and how regenerative agriculture can move
from a specialist practice into the mainstream. These
conversations recognise that transforming farming is
not simply about changing techniques in the field but
also about reshaping markets, supply chains and public
understanding of food production.
Farm walks, demonstrations and exhibitor showcases will
provide practical insights, while specialist organisations
and industry partners will present the latest research
and innovations designed to help farmers navigate an
increasingly complex agricultural landscape.
One of the major attractions of Groundswell is the calibre
and diversity of its speakers.
Among the headline names is Abby Rose, co-founder of
Vidacycle and Farmerama. A recognised advocate for soil
health, Rose has helped develop practical digital tools that
support farmers in monitoring crop performance and
improving soil function. Through Farmerama Radio, she
has also become one of the leading voices communicating
the stories and experiences of regenerative farmers. Her
perspective bridges technology, education and practical
farming, making her sessions particularly relevant for
farmers looking to measure and improve regenerative
outcomes.
Another highly anticipated speaker is Allen Williams, a
sixth-generation farmer and one of the most influential
figures in the global regenerative agriculture movement.
As a founding partner of Libertas Land, Understanding
Ag, Soil Health Academy and Regenified, Williams
has worked with thousands of farms across more than
45 countries. His experience spans operations from
small family farms to enterprises covering millions of
acres. Known for translating soil science into practical
management strategies, Williams is expected to draw
large audiences keen to learn from one of the movement’s
most respected practitioners.
Visitors will also hear from Angela Gibson, Quality and
Sustainability Manager at Bunge UK. With more than 35
years of experience in the commodity trade, Gibson brings
valuable insight into how sustainability is increasingly
shaping food supply chains. Her work on environmental
metrics and food data transparency provides an important
link between farm-level practices and consumer
expectations. As pressure grows for greater accountability
in food production, her perspective will be particularly
relevant for farmers seeking to understand evolving
market requirements.
What continues to set Groundswell apart is its atmosphere,
with many previous attendees describing the event as a
place of optimism in an industry often facing uncertainty
and pressure.
Whether visitors are complete newcomers or experienced
regenerative practitioners, the festival offers opportunities
to learn, share experiences and build valuable connections.
The informal environment encourages open discussion,
while evening gatherings provide further opportunities
for networking and collaboration.
The event's famous Earthworm Arms and on-site camping
facilities also help create a festival feel that extends
beyond the daytime programme. Conversations that begin
during seminars often continue late into the evening,
helping to build the strong sense of community for which
Groundswell has become known.
As regenerative agriculture continues to gain momentum
across the UK and around the world, Groundswell 2026
promises to be another landmark event. By bringing
together leading experts, innovative farmers and forwardthinking
businesses, the festival provides a unique
opportunity to explore the ideas shaping the future
of food and farming.

LanoTech at Groundswell
LanoTech turns lanolin, the
natural grease found in all
sheep wool, into a livestock feed
ingredient.
LanoTech’s homegrown lanolin
is an alternative to imported soy
and palm oil, a market worth
over £90 million a year.
Imported feed oils drive
deforestation, create supply
chain risk and undermine our net
zero commitments. By contrast,
wool is a natural and renewable
resource. LanoTech’s innovative
use of lanolin brings a circular
economy into British farming.
LanoTech is a Welsh company
dedicated to creating value for
wool that is often overlooked
and making sure that value
is returned to farming
communities.
Wool is a cost for many farmers,
particularly in upland areas
where long distances to market
and short fibre length mean
small returns. By adding a new
market for wool, LanoTech is
changing the financial viability
of farming for wool, not simply
for meat.
This is LanoTech’s first appearance
at Groundswell. Come and talk
to us about where your wool goes
– or someone else’s – and what it
could become.

Demonstrate what your
land is doing for nature
Emorsgate Seeds will be exhibiting
at Groundswell 2026 at Stand B37.
Emorsgate Seeds is one of the UK’s
leading producers of native wild
flower and grass seed, specialising in
ecological restoration, habitat creation,
and wildlife-friendly farming systems.
Established in 1980, the family-run
business manages large-scale seed
production across hundreds of acres
in Somerset and Norfolk, supplying
genetically diverse, UK-origin seed
for conservation projects, farms, and
gardens. Their work supports the
restoration of species-rich grasslands
and the reintroduction of native
plant communities across the British
landscape.
A key aspect of Emorsgate’s approach
is their emphasis on provenance and
ecological integrity, ensuring that all
seed is harvested from wild or naturally
established populations. This makes
their mixes widely trusted among
conservationists, land managers, and
regenerative agriculture practitioners.
At Groundsell 2026, Emorsgate is
expected to showcase their wild seed
mixes and share expertise on meadow
creation and habitat restoration, with
their presence at Groundswell 2026
highlighting the growing importance
of native seed systems in regenerative
farming – a sector where biodiversity
is increasingly seen as central to
productive and resilient agricultural
landscapes.

Continuous, automated
biodiversity monitoring built for
farms, estates and land managers
– measuring species, not just hectares.
What’s changing?
Land in the UK and Europe is
increasingly rewarded for outcomes,
not just inputs. Sustainable Farming
Incentive, Countryside Stewardship
Higher Tier, Landscape Recovery,
private natural capital markets and
supply chain contracts all share one
requirement: evidence.
Measuring biodiversity is becoming
increasingly important because of:
❦ Public payments for outcomes:
SFI, CS and Landscape Recovery
are moving toward results-based
payments. Biodiversity uplift needs
to be demonstrable.
❦ Supply chain pressure: Major food
brands and retailers are setting
nature targets.
❦ Natural capital and biodiversity
credits: Emerging voluntary markets
require defensible monitoring –
not one-off ecological surveys.
❦ Estate value and green finance:
Nature-related disclosures (TNFD,
CSRD) are starting to influence
asset valuations and lending
decisions.
What do we do?
We deploy autonomous acoustic and
image sensors across your holdings to
monitor birds, bats, nocturnal insects
continuously. Our platform identifies
species and how they change over time
at a fraction of the cost of repeated
manual survey.
❦ Baselines that hold up to scheme
administrators, buyers and auditors
❦ Year-on-year evidence of
biodiversity change
❦ Comparable data across estates,
tenancies and farm clusters
❦ A cost model designed for ongoing
monitoring, not one-shot surveys

Vineworks: Supporting UK
vineyards one vine at a time
Having established over
300 vineyards and
planted more than five
million vines across the
UK, since 2006, VineWorks
has built a reputation for
developing practical, fieldtested
solutions that meet
the specific challenges of
UK viticulture.
One such innovation is the
Viti-Till strip cultivation
machine. Developed in
collaboration with The Wagner Group, Viti-
Till is the only machine of its kind in the UK
and reduces soil disturbance during ground
preparation by more than 50%. Following
extensive trials in 2025, it has been rolled
out to clients for the 2026 season as part of
a broader shift towards more sustainable
vineyard establishment practices.
As Will Mower, Head of Establishment,
explains, “Viti-Till cultivates a strip 50cm
deep and around 70-80cm wide, ideal for
machine planting. By cultivating less than
half the field, we help preserve organic
matter and maintain soil structure.”
We start new vineyards with a site evaluation
and a Viticultural Suitability Report, analysing
factors like soil type, aspect, and climate.
Precision is central to our
work, using GPS-guided
planting and postinstallation
machinery
for the highest standard.
Our viticulturists offer
various vineyard service
packages tailored to
meet client needs. We
employ a skilled vineyard
crew year-round and are
licensed members of the
Gangmasters and Labour
Abuse Authority (GLAA), and the Association
of Labour Providers (ALP), ensuring ethical
labour practices.
We also have an online shop offering a full range
of vineyard products, from complete trellising
materials to essential maintenance items.
VineWorks will be exhibiting at Groundswell
(Stand G23). This year we are taking part in
the BASIS Knowledge Trail at Groundswell.
