“Our philosophy is based on being able to deliver solutions
and there really isn’t a situation where we can’t make

and Director, Jonathan Higgs, “We found that the market
wanted more complete systems rather than just a

normally unachievable by standard means.”
Fully IP rated and climate controlled, Lemon Power is
the company’s bespoke all-in-one power solution. These
units cover on and off grid applications and uniquely
hold everything needed to run the system inside its
weatherproof container, meaning they are ready to go
upon delivery with both grid and generator connections.
Lemon Energy systems intelligently balances loads across
multiple assets and incorporates them in battery storage,
eliminating the inefficiencies of multiple under-loaded
generators and improving its resilience. The company’s
systems frequently take advantage of cheaper off-peak
tariffs and stores lower-cost electricity overnight for
deployment during the day.
By enabling its generators to operate only at optimal load
conditions, Lemon Power can reduce fuel consumption and
emissions by up to 50% or more. When paired with solar
generation this significantly reduces reliance on the grid
and allows clients the freedom to secure their own power
requirements. Jonathan explains, “As a business, we’ve also
had a lot of inquiries about larger scale systems to help
clients from estates, farms and holiday parks with their
energy security and independence.” He says, “Upgrading their
supply from the National Grid could take months, or even
years in some cases, but we can get a system installed
in weeks. We’re able to deliver solutions in a fraction of
a time and put clients in control of their own power.”
The company’s all-in-one hybrid power solution, Lemon Flex, is
perfect for these transitioning, off-grid applications where grid
connectivity is unreliable or unsuitable. Coming complete with
integrated generators, Lemon Flex provides a robust hybrid
solution that combines batteries, solar and high-efficiency
generators fitted with UPS switchover speed capability.
Traditionally the hired temporary power sector has shied
away from renewable energy as the demands of large

them for clients ourselves, anybody who understands the
battery technology could repair or upgrade our products

customer satisfaction, but for wider sustainability goals”
As a business at the cutting edge of renewable energy,
this in-house manufacturing capability also means
Lemon Energy can offer more complex solutions and
deliver where non-standard items can’t. By manufacturing
in-house, the company can not only tweak
to customer spec, but incorporate an
elevated level of customer feedback
in the design and development process.
“One of the things that we’ve developed
recently came from a few meetings with
some of the larger event organisers.”
explained Jonathan, “These types
of events can sometimes have 130
generators for a four day event, so the
scale is massive. We asked how do we
scale up our offering to meet those
power demands?”
The company’s answer was a fully articulated trailer
system. Based on a 40ft HGV trailer foundation, this
system was designed with direct feedback from clients
and is currently being developed in-house by Lemon
Energy. Carrying a huge amount of solar capability, the
still unreleased system also contains a generator and a
massive amount of battery storage which complements
its output power.
“Everything on it is preinstalled, so
there’s no connection onsite.”
says Jonathan, “You

dividends, with the company in talks with several large
UK-based events to help migrate them off diesel sources
to more solar powered solutions.

Aqua Gratis: A scalable solution for water efficiency
in England’s water-stressed future
As pressure on England’s water resources
continues to increase, the need for scalable,
cost-effective and low carbon demand
management solutions has never been more urgent.
With population growth, climate variability, and
tightening environmental regulation all impacting
supply, the water industry is being driven to rethink
how water is used, managed, and conserved.
Within this context, micro domestic greywater re-use
is emerging as a critical part of the solution – and Aqua
Gratis, developed by Cascade Water Products Ltd,
represents a step change in how this technology can
be deployed at scale across new developments.
Water efficiency: from aspiration to necessity
Recent industry focus, reflected in the MOSL water
efficiency agenda, highlights the growing importance of
reducing per capita consumption (PCC) and embedding
efficiency into both domestic and non-household
markets. Water companies and regulators are

low-regret, deliverable solutions that can be deployed
early in AMP periods.

A compelling cost and carbon case
When compared to traditional supply-side options, the
economic and environmental case for greywater re-use
is striking.
Typical costs for greywater re-use fall in the region
of £800-£3,000 per mega-litre, placing it at or below
the lower quartile of supply-side solutions such as
reservoirs and water transfers.
At the same time, lifecycle carbon performance is
significantly lower:

This represents a 4-20× carbon advantage, a critical

and operational emissions.

One of the most immediate applications for Aqua Gratis
is in unlocking development in water-stressed regions.
Across Eastern England, the Thames basin, and the
South East, water scarcity is already constraining housing
growth. In some areas, new developments are required
to demonstrate water neutrality – ensuring that
additional demand does not increase net abstraction.
Greywater re-use directly supports this objective by:

heavy reliance on environmentally sensitive chalk

itan Trailers are a renowned trailer company who

“We can heavily modify trailers to the customer’s specific
needs and we make a number of bespoke trailers for our
corporate clientele.” Alex Adams, UK Operations Manager, tells
us, “So if it's a certain height or length, with specific features
that the customer needs, we will build that trailer for them.”
From flooring and paint finishes, to decals and roofing;
the company can incorporate any need into its design and
create the perfect trailer for customers, all with the high
quality build and after sales service Titan is renowned for.
For Alex, this focus on customer care is central to Titan’s
success, “We will never try and push a certain product
in the direction of the customer.” He says, “Rather than
trying to modify an existing product, we will start with a
blank piece of paper and we will build them exactly what
they want. I believe this focus on the client sets us apart
from the competition in a major way.”
From the top down, Titan is built to solve customer
problems. The close communication between engineering,
production, dealers and customers; underscores the entire
business and, because its management and staff are
hands-on from start to finish, there are no roadblocks to
making changes anywhere along the line.
Central to Titan’s success is the company’s commitment
to innovation in trailer technology. Its patented THINWALL
extruded aluminum panel, has made an indelible mark on
the trailer industry and is famed for its strength, durability,
load capacity and fuel efficiency.
This hollow-core extrusion achieves high strength with
lightweight similar to the way that corrugation turns

than the outer wall to absorb load impacts and to prevent

used in Europe.
“We make the best trailer on the market because we’re
not tied to any particular flooring manufacturer.” Alex
explains, “Most of our European competitors stick with the
Cargo Floor due to costs and location, but for us, it’s a lot
easier to fit both as we can either get them shipped from
our main factory in Canada or direct from Europe. It gives
us that flexibility to make whatever the customer wants.”
Titan’s heritage of innovation continues this year with
the launch of their latest trailer, a leakproof walking floor
product set to be unveiled at the RT Expo in Stoneleigh
this July. To address the growing incentives for companies
and councils alike to engage with the government’s food
waste recycling programs, this trailer has been designed
from the ground up specifically for the food waste industry
and is set to be the UK’s first fully leakproof trailer system.
This latest innovation is also a testament to Titan’s
commitment to work in partnership with other innovators.
Alex explains this first of its kind trailer was created with
the help of Titans flooring suppliers, Cargo Floor.
“The floor is, in effect, is a tanked floor. It’s all aluminium, but
it has a sealed system, so there’s zero leakage from these
trailers while it still retains Titans’ trademark durability.”
For Alex this product also represented a general shift in
customer focus to the recycling waste market, “As more
and more of our customers are moving into recycling,
that’s where our focus will pivot.” He says, “We try to
make trailers for recycling as light as possible without
compromising on the strength. We do this by building
them with a slightly thinner profile that takes half a ton
out of the trailer in weight. So they weigh less, but still
have the inherent strengths that’s made our brand the
industry leader.”
Along with this recent pivot into recyclables, Titan Trailers
has undergone a shift in ownership. The company’s
visionary founder, Mike Kloepfer, retired earlier this
year and the company was sold to fellow Canadian
entrepreneur Steve Somerville.
While the company may have changed hands, Titan
remains dedicated to providing the same industry-leading
products and customer support, and Alex hopes it will
mark a new era for the business here in the UK, “With
the company under new ownership we are hoping to
increase the visibility of the product in UK markets.” He
says “For example, there’s an awful lot of customers who
still think our trailers are made in Canada, but in actual
fact all our trailers are hand built in Middlesbrough. These
recent changes give us a chance to showcase the unique

One council in Tewkesbury,
Gloucestershire, is running a
six-month pilot scheme issuing
written warnings followed by fines
to persistent offenders who fail to
remove bins from the street once
they have been emptied. 1
The reasoning given mentions
accessibility, but also claims that
bins can be a ‘blight’ on the historic
conservation area, appearing unsightly. 2
Similar rules are being brought in
for West Lothian council, this time
for businesses. The local authority
will impose fines up to £1,000 if bins
remain on the public highway outside
of agreed collection times.
West Lothian council has passed
the rule change to ensure bins do
not obstruct pedestrian movement,
including access for wheelchair users,
pushchairs, and people with visual
impairments. 3
Even where specific local regulations
don’t exist, fines can still be issued.
Under the Highways Act 1980, it is
illegal to obstruct a highway, and
local councils can enforce this through
rules on bin placement and collection
times. Fines or fixed penalty

Services reveals an 87% rise in
applications for Personal Guarantee
Insurance (PGI) from construction
firms in Q1 2026, highlighting
growing demand for external finance
alongside increased concern among
directors about the risks tied to
personal guarantees.
The average value of a personal
guarantee signed by directors in
the construction sector has risen to
£217,000 – up 21% year on year and
the highest level recorded to date.
Construction firms accounted for
around 17.4% of all PGI applications
during the quarter.
While maintaining cashflow remains
the main reason for borrowing,
accounting for 45% of applications,
nearly one in five (18%) were
linked to growth initiatives such as

to deliver one of the UK’s

alkia UK’s Engineering team has
Dsecured a contract to deliver the
Barrow Green Hydrogen project in
Cumbria – one of the first renewable
hydrogen production facilities to
reach Final Investment Decision (FID)
in the UK.
The project is being delivered by
Green Hydrogen Energy Company
(GHECO), the joint venture established
in 2023 by Schroders Greencoat,
the specialist renewables and
energy transition infrastructure
manager, and Carlton Power, the
British independent energy infrastructure
company.
The Barrow Green Hydrogen project is
supported by the UK Government via
its Hydrogen Business Model/Hydrogen
Allocation Round 1.
The agreement will see Dalkia provide design
and installation services to deliver a 30MW
green hydrogen plant in Barrow-in-Furness.
The hydrogen will be used by Kimberly-
Clark at its manufacturing plant in the
town, where the company manufactures
consumer products including Andrex® and
Kleenex®. The use of green hydrogen will
reduce Kimberly-Clark’s reliance on natural
gas as part of its global decarbonisation
strategy. The Kimberly-Clark Barrow site
will reduce its consumption of natural gas
by up to 50% with a reduction of 18,300
tonnes of CO 2
emissions. Meanwhile, a
long-term power purchase agreement
with SEFE, an international energy
company, has been agreed for the
supply of renewable electricity.

Connected safety for the growing biogas sector
s the global energy landscape accelerates towards
decarbonisation, biogas is playing an increasingly

alternatives. Produced through the anaerobic digestion of
organic materials such as agricultural waste, food waste
and sewage sludge, biogas is a scalable and versatile energy

In the UK alone, there are now over 650 operational biogas
plants, with further growth driven by government incentives
and net-zero targets. Across Europe, the sector is even more
mature, with more than 18,000 anaerobic digestion facilities
contributing to renewable gas production. As investment
continues to rise and operators scale their operations,
safety and compliance are becoming critical priorities.
Managing risk in a high-growth sector
Biogas production involves a complex mix of hazardous gases.
Methane (CH 4
), the primary component, is highly flammable
and presents an explosion risk in confined or poorly ventilated
environments. Hydrogen sulphide (H 2
S) is both toxic and often
present at dangerous concentrations, while carbon dioxide
(CO 2
), ammonia (NH 3
) and fluctuating oxygen levels create
