After a thorough inspection, she was declared a constructive total loss and her owners sold<br />

her to the Hamburg-based Gefo Gesellschaft fur Oeltransporte. Following lengthy repairs<br />

at Cologne and Hamburg, she eventually returned to service in October 1980 under the<br />

name of GEFO BALTIC. In 1998 she was again sold, this time to the Greek Taxiarchis<br />

Shipping Co 11, who renamed her TAXIARCHIS 11. She changed hands again in 2002<br />

when another Greek concern named Thissefs Shipping Co purchased her and initially<br />

renamed her THISSEFS before adjusting her name to THISSEAS. As far as can be<br />

ascertained she is still in service – unlike SIR GERAINT who succumbed to the<br />

breakers’ torches in India in December 2005 under the name SIR G.<br />
