PRESCHOOLERS
FALL 2008
Qualified instructors maintain a fun and safe environment for practicing life skills
and values such as social grace, self-calming and control, project planning,
confident curiosity, kindness and compassion. Adults are always welcome to
join in the class with their child, so long as they are participating in classroom
activities. All children must have an adult stay with them for at least the 1st week,
after which the caregiver may request that their child be assessed for ‘on my own’
readiness. Please bring the following labelled items to class every week: a change
of clothes, diapering needs, a healthy snack (no nuts, please) and a beverage.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY
At My Pace I 18-24mths
In this class, young children are kindly
introduced to the environment and
expectations of a typical classroom
setting. Expect artistic, literary and
scientific activities; however the main
focus is on successful socialization
within a group setting. New children are
required to have an adult stay with them
for the first 3 weeks.

At My Pace II 2-3yrs
This class lovingly supports children in
a typical classroom environment with
the social expectations of ‘on-my-own’
programs. Complex themes are more
thoroughly explored, with emphasis
placed on learning the underlying
process of a project. No class Feb 11.

At My Pace III 3-5yrs
This program exposes children to a
wide peer group with a range of skill
levels. Complex themes explored in
multi-phase projects are designed to
enhance your child’s focus, social skills
and diligence.

COOKING
At My Pace Little Chefs
What’s cookin’ in the kitchen today?
This class is designed to safely
introduce children to basic cooking and
baking skills as well as common
kitchen appliances and tools. We will
mix, measure and experiment to create
yummy, non-meat dishes to take home
and share with our family, so please
bring a container to class and send a
snack and beverage to eat while our
dishes are cooking. Parents are asked
to volunteer in the classroom one time
per season. Class cost includes a fee for
ingredients. Please inform the instructor
of any allergies.

Little Chefs II 3-4yrs
Time to take it up a notch! Children are
encouraged to build on their cooking
and baking skills by making more
complex dishes. Emphasis is placed on
understanding nutrition, body awareness
and food chemistry.
