EAS has grown into the premier conference 

and for the attractions industry in Europe. 

Produced by IAAPA Europe – the European 

offi ce of the International Association of 

Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) 

– EAS is the only meeting place bringing 

together theme and amusement parks, water 

parks, zoos, aquariums, family entertainment 

centres, museums, and much, much more. 

As Chairman of the IAAPA Europe

A constant issue for every attractions manager is that of “volume” versus “value.” Is it better to 

have a high volume of guests at a lower price (with the potential for better per-cap spending) or 

fewer guests at a higher price point? Many attractions are using sophisticated pricing and yieldmanagement 

strategies to manage this key part of the business. This seminar will examine the 

various pricing models used across the attraction industry in Europe. It will also examine the latest 

ticketing and payment technologies available to operators. 

Michael Collins from British consultancy Leisure Development Partners will present a 

benchmarking study on the attractions business, analysing entertainment value, pricing, and 

discounting throughout the European theme park market.

EAS Post Tour

Following a successful 

EAS, attendees can join 

this three-day tour to visit 

Northern Germany’s most 

popular attractions. 

The bus will leave in the 

morning of the 12th of 

October for Heide-Park, part 

of Merlin Entertainments 

Group and home to great 

attractions as the dive 

coaster Krake, the wooden 

coaster Colossus and much 

more. The group will stay 

in the park’s very own 

4* hotel Port Royal and will enjoy backstage visits, a special 

show programme, and time to visit the large property. 

The next morning, the bus will leave for a 2h ride to 

Hansa-Park, a family-owned park right next to the Baltic sea. 

Experience the beautiful park with it’s unique attractions as 

for example the launched / vertical drop coaster Curse of 

Novgorod. A guided tour and discussion with the park owner 

Andreas Leicht will be part of the day, before the group returns 

to Hamburg to spend the night in the 5* Hotel Steigenberger 

and enjoy a diner in the beautiful city of Hamburg. 

After breakfast, the group will visit Hagenbecks Tierpark, one 

of the most famous zoos in the world and the very fi rst one using 

moans to create a greater experience for the guests. Alternatively, 

attendees can equally visit the world’s largest miniature 

railway, a very successful attraction in the city of Hamburg. 

The EAS Post Tour ends in Hamburg and guests can either fl y 

back from Hamburg Airport or take the train back to Berlin (90min).
