Oracle Award Presentation
Andy Bailey
Kevin Campbell
Bob Weiler
Jim Hayes

Good morning, everybody. My name’s
Andy Bailey. I’m responsible for strategic
alliances at Oracle. And, coincidentally,
we have none more strategic than our
alliance with Accenture. It’s an alliance
that goes back twenty years now, and
during that twenty years, Accenture’s
received many accolades for excellence
in delivering solutions to our customers.
Also, they’ve had a number of firsts. In
fact, this event, the Accenture-Oracle
Leadership Council, is a first of its kind.
They were also the first to have
dedicated innovation centers based at
Oracle. Now we have a series of those
around the world.
I want to take a minute, however, and
just recognize another first today, in that
Accenture was our very first Diamond
Partner. And the Diamond level of
our partnership program is the most
elite. It has very stringent criteria that
have to be met in order to become a
Diamond partner. Some of them -- you
see it there on the slide -- it’s really
designed to make sure that a partner
has very broad and deep capability and
competency that’s proven around our
portfolio of products so they can deliver
the most complex, multi-product, multiregion
demands that you would have as
our largest enterprise customers.
So it’s really a testament to the
importance that Accenture places on
bringing the very best resources, the
most qualified resources to bear on your
implementations that they were the first
Diamond Partner.
One of the components of Diamond
that Accenture had to achieve was
to get a series of what we call event
specializations. The event specialization
is where they have to have a fairly
large number of individual consultants
that pass a proctored exam to become
certified implementation consultants.
And this really speaks to the depth of
the bench that they have. And the last
one that they accomplished was for the
Oracle SOA Suite which I have a plaque
here to award to Jim in a second. But
I did want to just take an extra second
and thank Accenture on behalf of
Oracle for their continued investment,
and I have to say that’s a significant
commitment, to making sure that you,
our joint customers, are successful.
So on that, I wanted to award the plaque
to Jim, and thank you very much, and
congratulations!
Thanks, Andy. We appreciate the award
very much. Two quick comments! I need
to thank -- Andy mentioned it was
a proctored test. It was real. And he
called us, I think the middle of July, and
said, Jim, we have an idea. We have a
new status called Diamond and we want
you to qualify for this by September
1st because we’d like Accenture to be
announced at Open World.
Okay, Andy. What do we have to do?
Well, you have to get hundreds of
people to take tests.
And so first of all I need to thank all
those people around Accenture, I think
24 countries were represented, that
took those tests, to pass.
But secondly, and most importantly,
I need to thank our clients. Andy
mentioned we’ve been doing this
for 20 years with Oracle and we are
certainly appreciative and thankful
for the clients we’ve worked with
over that period of time. Accenture
doesn’t exist without our clients, and
we don’t have a chance to develop
our people and to build these skills
without you placing that trust in us to
do that and help you on your journey.
So, first and foremost, I want to thank
all the clients who are here and all the
ones we worked with, because without
our clients, none of this is possible.
Now it’s my pleasure to have our
third plenary this morning, plenary
presentation. As I mentioned,
Kevin Campbell, behind me, group
chief executive of Accenture’s
technology practice, one of my
bosses. So, again, be nice.
But, as group chief executive of our
technology practice, I think Kevin – I
think it’s 134,000 people that report
directly up – direct line to Kevin. And
the most amazing thing, he knows them
all by first name.
With that, I give you Kevin Campbell.
That’s cause they’re all named Jim. So it
makes it easy.
Thank you, Oracle, for the award and
the recognition. It is important to us
and you’ve been a great partner over
the years and we look for many more
years to come. And I want to thank Jim
and Terri among many others here for
their great leadership inside Accenture
in driving this forward. This comes out
of their hide all the extra work that
they do in the drive in making these
projects successful.
And to all of you, the clients,
because if we didn’t have a place to
use the software, demonstrate the
capabilities, and see the benefits,
it would kind of be a pretty
academic exercise for all of you.
So, thank you.
