COLOUR INSPIRATIONS

Dulux Colours of New Zealand
The Dulux Colours of New Zealand is a journey through New Zealand and our
homegrown colours. Each colour has been inspired by a loved and cherished
New Zealand location.
Think of the quietest town you’ve ever driven through, summer’s best loved beach,
your favourite bush walk or the vibrance of your favourite city and think of the
colours that suit them best.
From our refreshing ocean blues, striking alpine whites, rich geothermal greys,
natural coastal sands, lush native greens and vibrant urban hues, these colours
we see all around us.
The Dulux Colours of New Zealand is a range of over 900 timeless colours, drawn
from familiar hues around us. The palette works seamlessly with the New Zealand
environment, today and for generations to come.
The Colours of New Zealand. Only from Dulux.

Your home, your colours
STEP 1: INSPIraTIoN STEP 2: SElECTIoN STEP 3: CoNFIrmaTIoN
We have designed this booklet of inspirational
colour schemes to help you choose the perfect
colour scheme for your home.
The pictures help you see what works together.
They are specially designed to suit any style of house.
Once you have chosen the colour schemes you think will
work best, use the Dulux Colours of New Zealand palette
cards to check the exact tone and shade of the colour.
With 900 colours to choose from we’re sure you will find
just the right colours for your scheme. The fandeck is
another useful tool to help you choose. It features a
selection of 150 colours from the range, each with its
own full blade, so you can easily mix and match the
colours. There are suggestions for colour schemes on the
back of the palette cards and fandeck swatches as well.
*Printed colours in this booklet are as close as printing processes allow. It’s best to use Dulux palette cards and Dulux sample pots for accurate colour. Dulux accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the colours in this brochure.
We recommend you confirm your final colour choices
with Dulux Colours of New Zealand sample pots.
Light can really affect your colours so it’s important
to try your colours in the space they are going to
be painted. If you paint each colour on a large sheet
of white paper or card, you can move it around and
see how the light will affect the colour depending
on where it goes and what time of day it is. Once
you have decided, you are ready to start turning
your dream colour scheme into a reality.
Treading lightly
For more than 70 years, Dulux has led the way in developing innovative, high quality paint products,
designed specifically to cope with New Zealand’s unique conditions.
Today we’re setting the benchmark in sustainability and building
a business that treads lightly on the planet.
Over the past few years, we’ve introduced a range of initiatives right
throughout our business to ensure our company and products are
more environmentally sustainable and that every aspect of our
manufacturing process complies with international best practices.
The majority of our products carry the tick of approval from
Environmental Choice – an independent labelling programme
endorsed by the Ministry for the Environment that identifies
products that are better for the environment.
At our manufacturing facility in Gracefield, Wellington we’ve worked
hard to reduce our water use, energy consumption and CO emissions,
2
and have introduced recycling programmes that have seen the amount
of solid waste going into landfills dramatically reduced.
As a result of our efforts, in 2008 we were the first decorative paint
manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere to achieve the notoriously
stringent ISO 14001 environmental management standard certification:
an international benchmark for best practice that helps organisations
minimise their negative environmental impact.
Proud members of the New Zealand Green Building Council and
Sustainable Business Network, our commitment to creating a more
sustainable future has earned us numerous accolades including the
2007 Sustainable Business of the Year Award (Central Region) and
a Green Gold Award at the 2008 Wellington Gold Awards.
We take pride in building a business that benefits our staff, our
customers, our community and our region and will continue to explore
new ways we can minimise our impact on New Zealand’s remarkable
environment, to ensure we paint a brighter picture for future generations.
