February 2012 Newsletter

Monthly Newsletter January 2012

G

ood February to everyone!

2011 rushed by in a whirlwind, and 2012

seems to be moving the same way, very

fast. HCSC hopes to keep up by offering activities

and opportunities for everyone. January’s

membership luncheon gave us lots of info and

incentive to keep our New Year’s resolutions going

strong; if only the weather can hold out. With our

without the weather, make

sure you check out all the

Sub Club offerings, GET IN

the ACT, there is something

for everyone!

HCSC is recruiting for

members interested in

taking on a board position

for next year. The Executive

board positions are described

in the attachment to the newsletter but, we have

many more positions that are in need of filling for

next year as well. The February meeting, which is

an evening event this month, will have more

information on specific positions. Being part of the

board is a great way to meet others while providing

a service to our community. OJT offered for

EVERYONE!

ebruary is the month for Valentines hearts,

Tuesday and Thursday

mornings! I am getting

boooooooored with the

treadmill and since the

weather is not that bad

(relatively), if the conditions

are good, I would like to

head outside. It's not that cold once you get moving,

and it is more strenuous than the treadmill so you

will get an even better workout in the same amount

of time.

I am excited to see so many of us participating in

the Lose to Win! You go, ladies! Good luck to all!

I would love to see a big turnout for the Box Run

this spring. Nothing has been released yet but it is

typically a 10K, a 5K and a 3K fun run. It was a lot

of fun last year. There is plenty of time to train for it

if you want to run it - but many people walked last

year. (Or hobbled on crutches, like one of our

members!) If you are unsure of a training plan,

email me and I can get you hooked up with one.

There are also close half marathons in Regensburg

and Neumarkt if that is on your bucket list. You

have plenty of time to prepare for it, even if you

cannot yet run a half mile!

Lastly, Tshirts...

If you would like a Tshirt, please email me

(roseisonthego@gmail.com) asap. I am going

to set a deadline of 1 MARCH for pre-orders,

in order to get them by the Box Run. If there are not

25 ordered (all total), I will not be ordering. You DO

NOT have to be a Run/Walk Sub clubber to order

one! They look great in Body Blast classes too. ;)

Cost is $20, the front will be like last year's, the

back will say "jetzt oder nie" and the print will be

pink on black shirt.

Cook Like A Pro

ark your calendars for these

yummy experiences…

Make your own Tortillas, Monday 13 Feb, 0900
