BEBO History and Application

BEBO arch development started with the first full size test in Switzerland

in 1965.

• The BEBO arch capitalizes on soil-structure-interaction between the

reinforced concrete arch/foundations and the surrounding fill.

• The first BEBO structures were installed in 1966 and are still in excellent

shape.

• Experience shows that overfilled reinforced

concrete arch bridges are extremely durable
