1768, London, with maker’s mark ’’CW’’, possibly Charles Woodward or Charles<br />
Wright, the knob finial above a fluted circular lid over a tapering reeded body, with<br />
foliate-sheathed scroll handles to sides, centered by a heraldic crest surmounted<br />
by a rampant lion over a cartouche with three crosslets above a saltire, flanked by a<br />
figure with a sickle and a figure with a grape cluster, over a fluted spreading circular<br />
foot, 15’’ H x 14’’ W x 6.75’’ D, 79 oz, est:$3000/5000<br />
Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, Pasadena, CA. Condition: Good<br />
overall condition. Nicely chased and engraved decoration. Finials slightly bent.<br />
Typical marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. With polish<br />
residue in crevices. With a few scattered minor dings to body. Interior lip of lid bent in<br />
