UClub Tri Team
Invades Cohasset
The UClub Tri team hit the beach &
streets of Cohasset on June 26th! The
Cohasset Tri is New England’s most
popular Triathlon event, selling out
within 2 hours and attracting 1000
competitors! Cohasset draws the
best athletes for it’s scenic beauty and
challenging course. Our team hit the
chilly (62 degree) water for a fast 400
yard swim, onto the bike for a 12 mile
ride through town of Cohasset with
some slight hills, and twisting turns,
the 3.2 mile run challenges all as you
run along Jerusalem Road, and finish
with a very long flat sprint.
Betsy Feldmann, found her way to the
podium to receive a medal for a sec-
ond place finish in the women’s age
group division with a time of 1:23:48.
The Rubin family (Gary & Chrissy)
put in the good effort and Chrissy
had a personal best time(1:39:34).
Todd Estabrook (1:22:28), Dave
Dali(1:14:11), graciously invited eve-
rybody that participated in the tri to
an after tri party at his home... except
the UCLUBBERS! Just kidding! Sheila
Mulderig (1:42:45) could also be found
on the course struggling with the tem-
peratures as the day began to heat up.
Native Cohasset resident and UCLUB
member Tim Stanton was with his
family cheering on all the competitors.
Even Carol Pierce was quietly com-
peting placing 3rd in her age group
with a time of 1:12:41. Ex-UCLUBBER
Brad Thomas was in awe of our team
and it’s new gear. Not to be
overlooked was Coach Dave Dornaus.
CD was scurrying around the transi-
tion area with his highly visible black
& yellow Saucony’s & very official
vest. CD was like a proud parent as he
watched his team in their cool new tri
gear, dolphin into the water, jump on
their bikes, and run like hell out of the
transition area.
Want to have some fun this sum-
mer, join our tri team. Push yourself
out of your comfort zone; participate
in America’s fastest growing sport.
