President's Message by Errin Siagel Dear Members, With summer now in full swing, I hope you have many exciting activities planned with family and friends to enjoy the season. As you know, the Club’s hours of op- eration also change during the summer months and I encourage you to check our web site for updated sched- ules and activities. During the month of June we welcomed our new Board of Directors and said goodbye to outgoing members Bry Roskoz, David Jaye, Gerry Kirschner, Liz Bride, Bill Winterer, Ken Lyons, and Shifteh Fahr. Please join me in thanking them personally for all they have done for the Club. All of them put in many hours of hard work and have helped to make the Club a great success. A special thanks to Bry for serving as Treasurer and for keeping us in good fiscal order, to Liz Bride for manag- ing our club survey process, past President Matt Shed and to outgoing past President Bill Winterer for all their leadership during our most recent renovation and to Ken Lyons for doing a spectacular job with the Scholar- ship Committee. Along with changes at the Board level, we also wel- come several new committee chairs and thank others for their continued leadership and contribution. As you know, Committees play an integral role in overseeing the Club, formulat- ing new activities and programs, recruiting and retaining members and evaluating policies and procedures. Please reach out to the Chairs with any ideas or feed- back you might have and consider volunteering for a committee if interested. The current Chairs are listed at below On a serious note, I would like to remind members and their guests of the requirement to register at the front desk when entering the Club. We ask Members to do this for several reasons: first and foremost to ensure that only authorized people are entering the Club; second, to be able to locate a member at the facility if needed; and third, to comply with our guest policy. On several occasions in the recent past, there have been unauthorized persons who have entered the Club and committed thefts of personal property. Once again, in June an individual entered the Club and stole an em- ployee’s wallet. In order to ensure the personal safety of our members and employees, the Board has asked Club Management to adopt a more robust sign in process at the front door. This means that all members will be asked to sign in when entering the Club and politely reminded if they forget. While we are hopeful that a renewed attention to the sign in process will help, the Board and Management are also discussing other alternatives like more tradi- tional security systems. In the mean-time, we ask for your cooperation with the protocol of signing in and will keep you informed of other changes to policies and procedures around this issue.
