paternal grandfather I have not the slightest idea; your mother ought to be able to enlighten you on that
line of ancestry since she spent several weeks in Fluelen in the year 1906 and became acquainted with a
great many of the relatives from her father's side. Of course, this is many years ago moreover, your dear
mother may not have taken such close notice of all the relatives as to be able to line them up for a
purpose like the one in question.
Let us hope your comprehensive research will eventually lead to a solution of the problem with your,
dear children. Personal¬ly, I am rather dubious as to whether you will really achieve anything; this is not
to discourage you, dear Margaret, but just to tell you my frank opinion. God has had His wise plans for

this way. Do you re¬member the Gospel story about the man born blind? Well, Christ told us Himself
that the reason for his being blind was that God's power should be manifested in his cure. Since you, dear
Margaret, do not mind any expense nor travel, why not take the children to some place of pilgrimage,
say to good St. Anne of Beau Pre’, or to the famous church of Brother Andre' at Mount Royal at
Montreal?. Appeal to the Poor Souls and have some Masses said especially for our deceased relatives for
this intention. Make a promise to con¬tribute to the education of some missionary priest, in short, have
recourse to the good God who knows and sees all and who can and will help, even by a miracle if your
confidence does not waver. Let me assure you of my prayers too in the matter. I can tell you this much,
dear Margaret, that if God does not hear our prayers in the manner we should like Him to grant them, He
will doubtless do something better. Your children will be safeguarded against many dangers of the
present times and will easily slip into heaven where they will be glorifying God and increase your
eternal hap¬piness since you were instrumental in bringing, them into this life.
