so you’ll want to know that you’re making the right decision. With 

Caftec (Camberley Auto Factors’ technical and training division), 

we’ll be with you every step of the way, advising you of the best 

piece of equipment and anything else you’ll need to make the most 

out of your new investment. We can also provide a demonstration, 

either at your premises, or at the Caftec Centre where we’ll make 

sure to pop the kettle on when you arrive! 

2 Delivery 

We believe in the personal touch, so rest assured that your new 

piece of equipment won’t turn up in the back of a courier vehicle 

with a quick “sign here guv” before the driver whizzes off to his next 

delivery. All our equipment is received at the Caftec Centre fi rst, 

where we’ll unpack it and perform a complete inspection to make 

sure nothing’s missing. We’ll then check that it all works correctly 

before re-packing, and arrange a convenient time with you so we 

can deliver it personally.

When you get a new piece of 

equipment, there’s nothing worse than 

having to sift through the manual when 

you just want to get it working. This 

is why, when we deliver the machine, 

we’ll help you set it up, install any 

software and run through all the 

functions with you to make sure that 

you’re completely familiar with your 

new purchase.

legislations. We hold courses at our centre in Mytchett, and at 

colleges throughout our area including Bristol & Bournemouth.

Once we’ve left you, don’t worry – further help is 

just a ‘phone call away. It can be frustrating when 

everything seems to work when the installer is 

there, but two days later you think maybe you’ve 

forgotten something. The Caftec Centre provides 

a telephone based support service, so just feel 

free to give us a call on 01252 518536 and 

we’ll guide you through the problem. 

6 Service Just as cars need servicing, so does 

garage equipment. We are able to 

arrange servicing, calibration and/ 

or repair for all of the equipment 

we sell. When you purchase new 

equipment from us we will tell you 

how to fi nd out when a service 

or calibration is due and who to 

contact, but if it’s already too late 

and the machine needs a repair, 

again give us a call and we will take 

care of it.

Pro Auto offer a number of high tech training courses, some of these will be held at our training 

centre and some are only held at their own Midlands base. New courses include Multiplex & Can

ATA APPROVED AIR-CONDITIONING COURSES 

New European legislation regarding the handling of refrigerant gases came into force in July 2010. 

Now, any technician working on vehicle air conditioning systems has to be in possession of certifi ed 

accreditation to prove their competence to safely handle refrigerant gases. Traditionally before this 

date garage mechanics/technicians had been able to work on vehicle air conditioning systems with 

no formal training. 

In association with Delphi, we regularly operate two levels of ATA accredited courses. By completing 

one of these accreditations, the qualifi ed technician will legitimately be able to carry out air 

conditioning work, enabling your business to avoid the risk of steep penalties or much worse.

Overview 

Training is increasingly becoming a bigger part of the 

garage technicians life, and rightly so. Working on the latest 

technologically advanced vehicles should not be undertaken 

lightly, and regular training is required to keep up with the 

latest vehicle technology. 

We run a wide range of training courses on a range of vehicle 

systems, working in conjunction with OE parts suppliers 

like Bosch, Delphi & Blueprint, diagnostic equipment 

manufacturers Texa & Magneti Marelli and also training 

professionals such as Pro Auto. 

Some of the training courses we offer are approved by the 

Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI Award) and successful 

assessments result in a level 2 or level 3 ATA accreditation. 

Many of the courses we run are held at our purpose built 

training facility at Mytchett. If you have any particular training 

requirements please get in touch with us. 

SERVICE TECHNICIAN - 2 DAYS 

This course is aimed at technicians who are new to air-con, 

or those with no formal training, 

Covers: Basic operation of air-con systems 

Fault fi nding and diagnosis 

Skills to handle refrigerant professionally and safely 

To attain accreditation, candidates will have to pass practical 

assessments and online knowledge tests. Those who, at 

the end of the course, can prove their competence will be 

awarded an ATA accreditation, enabling them to legally carry 

out air-conditioning work. 

REFRIGERANT HANDLING - 1 DAY 

This course is aimed at people with around one year’s 

experience of air conditioning systems, and would suit someone 

who has already attended our original one day course. 

Covers: Skills to handle refrigerant professionally and safely. 


Diagnostic Technician Programme 

These courses have been developed, 

to result in an ATA qualifi cation, for 

garage service technicians who 

carry out any electrical testing or 

diagnosis on modern vehicle systems.

Multibrand Diagnostics 

The NAVIGATOR TXT and NAVIGATOR TXC are multibrand 

diagnostic interfaces; now with upgraded internal hardware, 

including a new main board and processor, they can 

communicate with the vehicles’ electronic control units, 

guaranteeing performance and speed that redefi ne 

multibrand diagnostics. The development of these interfaces has been focused on 

reducing the communication times, and ensuring the tool is practical to use. 

Thanks to an internal 64MB memory, the devices can save all the communication 

programs previously used and, if a diagnostic program is required again, it 

retrieves the information already stored from the internal memory. This reduces 

the time required for the communication with the ECU by over 70%. Also, by 

using an automatic internal switch, the devices can communicate with the ECUs 

on all models of vehicles. No adaptor is required, as the cable supplied can be 

connected directly to the diagnostic socket.

The NAVIGATOR TXB is a new generation of multi-brand tool able to 

connect to any PC/Laptop, or the Axone Pad, to perform the most accurate 

diagnostics of the electronic systems of motorcycles, scooters, quads 

and jet skis. Thanks to the features offered by this wireless interface, it is 

possible to access all the electronic systems on board directly. 

By using the NAVIGATOR TXB it is possible to perform operations such as: reading/erasing the 

error messages, evaluating system parameters, resetting of service warning lights, adjustments 

to fuelling, key programming and much more. By using a wireless Bluetooth connection to 

communicate with the display unit the NAVIGATOR TXB eliminates the need for cables. TXB 

software covers over 1000 different models. 

NAVIGATOR TXM is designed exclusively for the marine market. It is impact 

resistant, waterproof, lightweight and practical thanks to its aluminium 

shell. On the inside it features a powerful Intel 400MHz processor and a 

64MB memory. 

This means rapid data processing, instant recognition of control units and advanced diagnostic 

potential. NAVIGATOR TXM connects directly to the diagnostic socket via a dedicated set of 

cables and allows you to perform a great number of important diagnostic and maintenance 

procedures; electronic parameter reading, service light resetting, error reading and deleting are 

just a few examples of what the NAVIGATOR TXM can do. Built in Bluetooth allows you to move 

freely around the boat without the restriction of connecting cables. 

NAVIGATOR NANO is the most evolved 

self-diagnosis device for cars and light 

commercial vehicles fi tted with OBD 

sockets. 

The advanced miniaturisation techniques used have allowed us to reduce 

the space required and instrument weight by more than 85% as compared 

with a traditional solution, leaving diagnosis depth and potential unchanged. 

NAVIGATOR NANO belongs to a new generation of devices characterised by 

three key elements: 

• reduced dimensions: increased practicality of use and less space taken up 

within the vehicle; with its ergonomic form, NAVIGATOR NANO plugs directly 

into the diagnosis socket 

• wireless: thanks to the self-powering and wireless Bluetooth communication,

NAVIGATOR NANO operates thanks to IDC4, the TEXA platform that combines 

diagnosis potential with an enormous database. The mechanic in fact has a 

whole range of additional information at his disposal, such as wiring diagrams, 

technical data sheets, component sheets and bulletins, specifying the correct 

procedures by which to repair the most common, important failures. All this 

along with images and fi lm clips, which can be viewed directly on the diagnosis 

tool. If the workshop has an internet connection, it can access the famous 

“Solved Problems” search functions powered by Google and TGS2. An innovative 

application allows for more frequent interventions and immediate scheduled 

maintenance, quickly and easily, by simply selecting the individual operations 

from a specifi c list. The software automatically connects the functions to the 

electronic system of reference, thereby relieving the mechanic of a complex 

research within the various systems.

AXONE 4 is the new “TEXA fl agship”, with a wealth of the latest technical measures to offer the best 

there is in workshop assistance. AXONE 4 presents a series of absolutely unique characteristics, 

many of which are linked to the concept of an internet connection. 

From the fi rst time you set your eyes on it, the large 9.7” TFT 

touch screen is certainly what captures the attention, with 

resolution at 1024 x 768 and extremely high quality graphics. 

AXONE 4 features a powerful latest generation Intel Atom 

processor, complete with 1GB RAM memory. AXONE 4 is 

equipped with an accelerometer that allows the image to 

rotate vertically or horizontally. The mechanic thus chooses 

the preferred option, as required. The extremely advanced 

32GB solid state hard disk, which is decidedly “non-standard”, 

guarantees a hardwearing product that consumes less power

which to connect using the workshop network and download 

all updates available. The on-board equipment then features a 

VGA camera, useful for documenting and saving specifi c stages

excellent quality speaker, which is fully waterproof. 

AXONE 4 has been designed for exclusive connection via 

Bluetooth to a TEXA diagnosis interface. More specifi cally, 

the perfect combination is with the brand new, revolutionary 

Navigator Nano. In this confi guration, AXONE 4 is 100% 

PASS-THRU compatible and therefore able to carry out all ECU 

reprogramming operations and key encoding in accordance 

with standard SAE J2534 and ISO 22900 independently, with 

no need for a PC (thanks to its Windows platform), by simply 

connecting to the manufacturer’s servers via the internet.

DIAGNOSTICS 

NanoService 

NanoService, with its IDC4 Service operating system, 

is the ideal diagnostic tool for the tyre fi tter of the future. 

NanoService is a diagnostic interface specially designed for use by fast-fi t 

centres, tyre fi tters and service areas, and allows scheduled services to 

be performed on vehicles with an OBD socket. NanoService is small in 

size but big on performance, and is designed for use with a PC running 

Windows. 

A practical, ergonomic shell hides the advanced 

technology needed to run diagnostics on the 

electronic systems of cars and light commercials 

without having to use cables or adaptors for 

different makes. A Bluetooth module even lets 

you walk around the vehicle within a range of 

30 metres, without being restricted by trailing 

cables. 

OBD MATRIX 

TEXA has developed “the world’s fi rst device that monitors all of 

a vehicle’s electronic systems while it is running – a very small 

unit, hardly any bigger than the OBD diagnostic socket in which 

it is inserted, so small in fact then when fi tted it is not even 

noticed by the driver.” 

The highly miniaturised OBD Matrix records all errors in all 

vehicle systems under normal driving conditions. This means 

that the mechanic does not have to keep the vehicle in the 

garage, where very often it proves impossible to reproduce these 

sporadic faults or the conditions under which a malfunction 

occurs. 

It only takes the mechanic a few minutes to install the 

diminutive OBD Matrix in the customer’s vehicle. 

The customer can then carry on driving normally, and come back 

to the garage at the end of the agreed observation period. The 

mechanic then removes the device, connects it to his computer, 

and views the values of pre-selected parameters to identify the 

exact nature of the fault.

OBD LOG 

OBD Matrix provides a valuable aid to all mechanics as it 

detects and records errors as they normally occur, with the 

vehicle in motion. Repairs can then be made quickly and 

accurately, and the customer offered a highly professional 

service without the inconvenience of having to leave his 

vehicle at a garage.

Little brother to the OBD MATRIX, this innovative OBD Log is a little device that again plugs 

directly into the vehicle’s own diagnostic socket and records all engine management data 

handled by EOBD protocol. 

We all know that some faults only occur under specifi c conditions, problems like power loss 

only in a certain rev range, or warning lights and sensors fl agging faults under particular 

conditions. And we know these problems are almost impossible to solve in the garage. 

OBD Log records all such errors on an internal chip so that you can view them quickly and 

easily on your PC. 

You can simply install OBD Log in your car. OBD Log will continue to record all relevant data 

while your customer drives around normally.

Engine System Testers 

From the handy universal multimeter for voltage and current measurement, the 

classic engine tester to the latest control-unit diagnosis tester for electronics

Common Rail Diesel Tester 

The need to diagnose and test common 

rail injection systems has provided a 

fresh challenge to both workshops and 

manufacturers alike. Ever since the launch of 

the fi rst Delphi-equipped common rail vehicle 

in 2001, Delphi Diesel Aftermarket has placed 

a great emphasis on providing its network with 

the tools it requires to service Common Rail 

systems. 

The Sealed Rail Diagnostic Kit has been 

designed to work on the common rail systems 

of Delphi, Bosch, Siemens and Denso. 

There are two main components within the 

kit, the sealed rail pump pressure tester and 

the injector back leakage equipment will give

With tyre pressure monitoring systems becoming ever more popular a good tool for checking these 

systems is necessary. The Magneti Marelli TPMS Connect EVO is a great piece of kit, offering all the 

function needed for testing, re-setting, activating and replacing the electronic tyre valve sensors. 

The TPMS Connect EVO, covers a wide range of vehicles, icles, 

including European, Asian & USA models.

The KTS and the tyre valve 

activator can be used together to 

very quickly assign the wheels in 

the control unit, saving valuable 

time. 

This assignment is necessary with 

all Schrader systems. 

The expected time for activation 

of the tyre valves and detection 

via the KTS is a maximum of 8 

seconds per wheel. 

Without the tyre valve activator it 

can be up to 15 minutes per wheel. 

Torque Screwdriver 

Many tyre sensors need to have the outer 

stem collar correctly tightened to the correct 

torque to ensure an airtight seal. A low 

torque screwdriver which has a variable 

torque from 0 to 8.5 Nm must be used. 

Torque Valve Core Tool 

Correct fi tment of the nickel plated valve 

core is very important in an aluminium 

valve. For this a low torque pre-set core tool 

must be used.
