The San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round
of the 2012 NFL Playoffs. The two teams faced each other in Week 1, with San
Francisco winning 30-22 at Green Bay. The marks the sixth postseason matchup
between the Packers and 49ers, with Green Bay holding a 4-1 edge in the alltime
series.
The 49ers earned the NFC West Division Championship for the second conseuctive
season and the 19th time in franchise history. Head coach Jim Harbaugh
joined George Seifert as the only coaches in franchise history to win the
NFC West in each of their first two seasons.
San Francisco had an NFL-high nine players selected to the Pro Bowl, including
seven starters (LB navorro Bowman, S Dashon goldson*, RB Frank gore, G
Mike iupati*, LB aldon Smith*, DT Justin Smith*, T Joe Staley*, S Donte Whitner*
and LB patrick Willis*).

yds.) became the first set of 49ers to surpass 1,000 rushing yds. and

sacks this season.
8.32 QB Colin kaepernick ranked 1st in the NFL, averaging 8.32 yds./attempt
