MFL week<br />
– Behind the scenes<br />
As you will all remember, Modern Foreign Languages week <strong>to</strong>ok place just a few<br />
weeks ago. Some of the highlights from the activities included: Irish dancing, flamenco<br />
dancing, learn-a-new-language, and a visit from All Things Latin. We went <strong>to</strong> talk <strong>to</strong><br />
the MFL department <strong>to</strong> get some more information on why we have MFL week and<br />
they explained that, “We have MFL Week <strong>to</strong> celebrate the different languages being<br />
used all over the world, so it’s not just us celebrating, it’s the whole of Europe and<br />
other places as well.”<br />
<strong>The</strong> MFL department kicked off the week sporting their new uniforms at assembly<br />
<strong>to</strong> inform us about the amazing range of activities on offer. Mr McGovern was<br />
particularly pleased by the success of the annual MFL karaoke in which brave teachers<br />
and groups of students performed a range of songs by artists such as ABBA, High<br />
School Musical, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin. Watch this space for next term’s<br />
enrichment list which will hopefully included Irish dancing, back by popular demand!
