Welcome to the Walt Disney company’s 2007 Fact Book
The Walt Disney Company’s Fact Book profiles the Company’s principal business
segments while highlighting key events in the Company’s history. The Fact Book also
provides information on the Company’s operations.
The Walt Disney Company’s 2007 Fact Book puts the spotlight on the global
phenomenon, High School Musical, the most prominent example of the Disney
Difference: high-quality creative content, backed up by a clear strategy for maximizing
that content’s value across platforms and markets. Since it premiered on Disney
Channel, the movie has spawned, among other things, a record-breaking sequel also
on Disney Channel, live stage tours, concert tours, an ice show tour, a series of books,
toys, games and other consumer products, a line of video games produced for multiple
gaming platforms by Disney Interactive Studios, live shows at our theme parks,
two soundtracks, online media, DVD and Blu-ray TM discs, as well as a full-length feature
film currently in production. The success of High School Musical illustrates The
Walt Disney Company’s tremendous ability to create and grow new franchises, and to
extend the success of these franchises throughout the Company.
We hope you will enjoy our 2007 Fact Book and greatly appreciate your interest in The
Walt Disney Company.
Sincerely,
Lowell Singer
