3. Conclusions<br />

These 235 etyma correspond to 23% <strong>of</strong> the common Sumerian-<strong>Hungarian</strong> etyma in Gostony (1975)<br />

and to 40% <strong>of</strong> the Japanese-<strong>Hungarian</strong> etyma in Kazár (1980). The relatively low rate <strong>of</strong> common<br />

Sumerian-<strong>Hungarian</strong>-Japanese etyma may be interpreted as a hint, that we have not to assume – like<br />

e.g. in the case <strong>of</strong> Tibeto-Burman and the Munda languages – a migration <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hungarian</strong>s to Japan, but<br />

rather that the common etyma are due to the fact, that Japanese is a member <strong>of</strong> the Ural-Altaic<br />

macr<strong>of</strong>amily.<br />
