SYSTEMS ANALYST<br />
Will work with a multidisciplinary team to address a broad range of technical areas of importance to<br />
senior Air Force <strong>and</strong> Department of Defense decision makers. Technical areas include U.S. air vehicle<br />
survivability against modern integrated air defense systems, electronic <strong>and</strong> infrared countermeasure<br />
development, directed-energy system capability, precision-guided munition performance, homel<strong>and</strong><br />
defense, <strong>and</strong> counterterrorism. Work involves data analysis, mathematical modeling, <strong>and</strong> software<br />
simulation of radar, infrared, laser, <strong>and</strong> sensor integration systems as well as unconventional defenses.<br />
Qualifications: PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other technical field with the<br />
ability to apply talents to new fields at both the technically detailed <strong>and</strong> big-picture levels.<br />
Excellent communication skills <strong>and</strong> the ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, concise<br />

INFORMATION ASSURANCE FOR COMPUTER NETWORKS<br />
Will contribute to an active computer security research <strong>and</strong> development program that aims to<br />
develop secure protocols, automated malicious code detection <strong>and</strong> analysis tools, <strong>and</strong> reliable <strong>and</strong><br />
repeatable network traffic analysis tools. Tasks include algorithm design, software development<br />
<strong>and</strong> testing, <strong>and</strong> prototype deployments on important government networks for the most<br />
successful research.<br />
Qualifications: BS (with relevant experience), MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Applied<br />
Mathematics, or relevant engineering discipline. For network protocol <strong>and</strong> analysis tasks, the<br />
applicant should have experience <strong>and</strong> interest in TCP/IP <strong>and</strong> Microsoft networking protocols;<br />
knowledge of common tools for underst<strong>and</strong>ing network traffic <strong>and</strong> network security, such as ethereal,<br />
tcpdump, nmap, etc., is a must. For software analysis tasks, underst<strong>and</strong>ing of secure computing <strong>and</strong><br />
compiler design <strong>and</strong> development is a must, <strong>and</strong> an underst<strong>and</strong>ing of network protocols is desired.<br />
