Reagan Test Site (Kwajalein)<br />
The Reagan Test Site <strong>Group</strong> serves as the scientific advisor to the Reagan Test Site at the US<br />
Army Kwajalein Atoll installation located about 2,500 miles WSW of Hawaii. Twenty staff<br />
members, accompanied by their families, work at this site, serving two- to three-year tours<br />
of duty. The site’s radars <strong>and</strong> optical <strong>and</strong> telemetry sensors support ballistic missile defense<br />
testing <strong>and</strong> space surveillance. The radar systems provide test facilities for radar technology<br />
development <strong>and</strong> for the development of ballistic missile defense techniques. <strong>MIT</strong> <strong>Lincoln</strong><br />
Laboratory also supports upgrades to the comm<strong>and</strong>-<strong>and</strong>-control infrastructure of the range<br />
to include applications of real-time discrimination <strong>and</strong> decision aids developed as a result of<br />
research at the Laboratory.
