EP-Kraków SA, founded in 1949, is an

engineering and consulting company

of long tradition.

EP-Kraków SA offers comprehensive

design of power lines and substations

and also manages project execution

We have designed:

114 km of 750 kV line and

a 750/400/110 kV substation,

over 4000 km of 400 kV line,

over 6000 km of 220 kV line,

over 20 000 km of 110 kV line

and lower voltage lines,

over 70 substations of upper

voltage – 400 kV or 220 kV,

several hudred 110/15 kV

substations,

all typical towers for 750 kV,

400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV

lines,

over 900 km of 380 kV, 220 kV,

132 kV lines and over a dozen

power substations for export.

We have performed several

tasks in terms of studies, research

and development related

to power transmission and

distribution:

concepts and plans for development

of national transmission

networks,

a technical and economic audit

of modernized power substations

in Lithuania in cooperation

with Electricité de France.


our innovations

Telecommunication line with optical

phase conductor (OPCON) – the only one in

Poland manufactured by Alcoa Fujikura Ltd. with

fittings produced by Dulmison UK.

We have performed a “turn-key” project of an

OPCON line installed on a 15 kV line

(ZE Białystok SA). The company has filed

a patent application for this solution with

the Patent Office.

New construction of compact conductors

(in cooperation with the Power Cable

Factory in Będzin) used in Poland in recent

years. We have obtained patent coverage for

the conductors. New series of D 24S and S 24S

towers have been designed specially for these

conductors (in agreement with Elbud Gdańsk

Holding SA).

Unique in Poland fibre optic connection for

phase comparison and differential

protection (ZE Płock SA). Siemens

teletransmission equipment has been applied in

the connection.

Tower design for 400 kV lines:

– Z33 series for the double circuit line with

3x350 mm2 bundle conductor, used in the

Dobrzeń-Wielopole line (ordered by PSE SA)

– E33 series for the double circuit line. The first

series of towers designed in compliance with

PN-EN 50341 European Standard. Used in the

Kromolice-Pątnów line (PSE Operator SA)

– WT33 series for the triple circuit line. Used

for power evacuation from 460 MW unit in the

Łagisza Power Plant in WT335 arrangement

i.e. 2x400kV+220 kV (PSE Operator SA)

– OB33 series for the single circuit line. Used

for power evacuation from 833 MW unit (the

Bełchatów Power Plant).


We were the

first in Poland

to design:

400 kV line (Mikułowa – Joachimów , 317 km long, 1963),

400 kV switchyard with a tubular busbar (Miłosna, 1976),

3/2 CB 400 kV switchyard with a tabular busbar (Widełka, 1981),

750 kV transmission line (Widełka – Polish border, 1983),

750 kV switchyard (Widełka, 1983),

gas insulated switchgear SF (Warszawa-Śródmieście, 1988),

optical ground wire – OPGW

(on 220 kV line – Power Plant Jaworzno III – Byczyna substation, 1991),

hydrophor sprinkle fire extinquishing installation for power transformers

(400/110 kV transformer in Dobrzeń Substation, 1995),

synchronic teletransmission system (ZE Kraków, 1996),

Pałac underground GiS substation – 110/15/15 kV;

40/20//20 MVA located in the centre of Warsaw

(ZE Warszawa, 2001),

110 kV OHL “Kampus” single circuit compact line in Kraków occupying

small amount of land compared to the traditional line

(lenght 12 km, ZE Kraków, 2003),

outdoor gas insulated switchgear SF (LG Philips – Kobierzyce, 2006),

Replacing traditional conductors with HTLS (High Temperature

Low Sag) conductors on the: Kozienice – Mory 220 kV line

static compensator installation for 220 kV SWYD

adapted to the requirements of European Standard (new requirements

of the tower top geometry and increased loads), which have passed

complete strength tests at the testing station (Żylina, 2010).
