4 eplanet Know-how 2 As solution providers in the CAD field, we offer much more than software. Providing effective support for processes is our maxim. We scrutinise workflows, prepare concepts, and link systems. To this end, we combine our expertise in the two disciplines of electrical and mechanical engineering. See for yourself how our world revolves around CAE and CAD … Fluid Plan The brand new Fluid Plan is a trendsetter in the discipline of hydraulics/pneumatics – a system which facilitates practical engineering for fluid engineers. Fluid Plan is optionally available as a stand-alone system or as an add-on module for EPLAN 5. The linking of electrical and fluid engineering facilitates an holistic view of the plant – for uniform data and greater efficiency. ➔ Read more on pages 8-9! EPLAN 5.60 Turbo Things are set to heat up this summer when EPLAN 5.60 Turbo hits the streets. As a successor to the well-established version 5.50 Racing, the system has already completed its test laps successfully. Company news April 2004 “Viva España“ Strategic decision at Spanish group MTorres MTorres started life in 1975 as a small family-owned company supplying process automation to the paper industry. These days, the Pamplona-based Spanish company has developed into a group of companies employing almost 400 people. It is also an innovative player in the fields of civil and military aircraft construction, as well as the wind power industry. The demands placed on MTorres by its customers are always the same: to save time and money. Of course, the same also applies in-house. With this in mind, MTorres purchased its first EPLAN licences in 2002, expanding to 15 full versions in the spring of 2004. Through standardisation and automation, EPLAN has enabled more effective structuring of the engineering process, whilst at the same time helping to boost quality. EPLAN 5 soon developed into a strategic product throughout the company, and was able to assert itself successfully in the face of various competitors. Aeronautic For example, this was the birthplace of the world’s first ever laser welding machines for aircraft construction, known as “Welding” and “Torresclip”. MTorres has been involved in the development of a number of wellknown aircraft models, including the Airbus, the Eurofighter 2000-EFA, various Boeing programmes, the Dornier 728, and last but not least, the Bombadier CRJ 700. Wind energy Wind power plants which harness the wind power more effectively, thanks to a patented special motor, are developed and built here. As a promoter of the “Experimental Wind Farm” in Navarra, MTorres is also a trendsetter in the field. Paper maschines The most recent addition to the EPLAN users at MTorres is the paper machines division. The decision in favour of EPLAN was made in the last few weeks. Engineering: This division provides all departments with design, project management and commissioning services. It also serves as a solution provider for individual customer projects. With MTorres, EPLAN Software & Service has landed a contract with one of Spain’s showcase companies. Exciting high-end solutions and its image as technological trendsetter make MTorres one of our top references in the EPLAN environment. 5
