10 2012 College Captains Top: Jennifer Lo, Jacob Thian Bottom: Scott Jackson, Zoe Christofis Book Fair The 2011 Book Fair, held over one week in October on the Primary Campus was another great success. Over two thousand dollars worth of books have been added to the library’s collection as a result of the Book Fair. Books purchased emphasised literacy development in the classroom with seven new class sets of novels obtained, in addition to picture fiction, junior fiction and middle school fiction. A big thank you to all families and friends who supported the wonderful event.
Creative Arts in Review It has been another very busy and successful term for the Creative Arts Department. Many students have achieved fantastic results for external examinations. Congratulations to Ruby and Jazzy May who are performing in The Wizard of Oz, which will be at QPAC in February this year. “Break a leg”, girls! In term four we had the Art Exhibition at the Senior Campus. It was a great opportunity to showcase the talented work of our Art and ITD students. Thank you to all who came to support this event. The Creative Arts Department were in full force at the Twilight Markets. We had many games on offer and lots of chocolate was won. Even Mr Croft had a go at putt-putt! Thanks to everyone who came and had some fun with us. Congratulations to all the students who performed so well at the Senior and Primary Nights of Celebration. It was fantastic to hear see and hear the growth within the Music Department. A big ‘Thank you’ to all the parents and friends of CAST who gave their time, efforts and support throughout another very busy year. On a personal note, I’d like to thank the wonderful staff in the Creative Arts Department who have enabled our students to grow and develop their creative skills in 2011: Ms Smith, Mrs Jurss, Mrs Thompson, Ms McLean, Ms McGlynn, Ms Williamson, Mrs Lennon and Ms Watson.
