30 yEARS OF EXPERIENCE<br />

Tim Cassidy is in his fourth season as associate athletic director for football at Texas<br />
A&M under head coach Mike Sherman and his 23rd overall in <strong>Aggie</strong>land.<br />
“Tim is widely respected across the country as one of the top football administrators,”<br />
Sherman said upon hiring Cassidy. “He has excellent knowledge and experience in<br />
recruiting, and his organizational abilities make him a great addition to our <strong>staff</strong>. Tim over<br />
the years has developed a special relationship with the high school coaches in this state<br />
which is very important to me. He also has a great connection with a lot of former players<br />
which is equally important.”<br />
Cassidy served as the associate athletic director for football at the University of<br />
Nebraska from 2004-07. In addition to working with the football <strong>staff</strong> and assisting in<br />
recruiting efforts, Cassidy was a key member of the athletic administration with the Huskers.<br />
He coordinated travel, budget and <strong>staff</strong>ing for the football office, assisted with scheduling<br />
and oversaw the compliance, strength and conditioning, equipment and academic support<br />
units regarding football and he supervised the football support <strong>staff</strong>s.<br />
Cassidy has 21 years of experience at Texas A&M rising from graduate assistant to<br />
recruiting coordinator, to assistant athletic director, to associate athletic director. During<br />
his career at Texas A&M, Cassidy has been a part of several championship teams. He was<br />
part of the 1985 and 1986 Southwest Conference Champions, the 1991, 1992 and 1993<br />
Southwest Conference Championship squads, as well as the 1997 and 1998 Big 12 South<br />
title teams and the 1998 overall Big 12 Champion unit.<br />
With more than 25 years of experience working in collegiate football, Cassidy was<br />
instrumental in the planning of the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex that houses<br />
the Husker football team, coaches’ offices, training room, weight room and administrative<br />
offices. He also assisted with the planning for the Texas A&M Bright Football Complex and<br />

the Nye Academic Center. The Bright Complex houses all of the football areas while the<br />
Nye Academic Center is an academic area for all <strong>Aggie</strong> student-athletes.<br />
This marks Cassidy’s third tour of duty with the <strong>Aggie</strong>s. He came to A&M from<br />
Morningside College where he was an assistant football coach from 1981-83. He joined<br />
Jackie Sherrill’s Texas A&M <strong>staff</strong> as a graduate assistant in recruiting in 1983-84 and was<br />
promoted to recruiting coordinator in 1985-86. He left A&M in 1987 to serve as the director<br />
of recruiting at the University of Florida in 1987 and 1988 before returning to serve on<br />
R.C. Slocum’s first <strong>Aggie</strong> <strong>staff</strong> as recruiting coordinator from 1989-91. He was promoted<br />
to assistant athletic director for recruiting in the fall of 1991 and served in that capacity<br />
until Bill Byrne arrived at Texas A&M in December of 2002. Byrne and head football coach<br />
Dennis Franchione promoted Cassidy to associate athletic director for football for Texas<br />
A&M until Cassidy left for Nebraska in January of 2004.<br />
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Cassidy received his bachelors of science degree in<br />
physical education and health from Nebraska-Omaha in 1981. He received his master’s<br />
degree in education from Texas A&M University in 1984.<br />
Cassidy and his wife, Nancy, have two sons Ryan and Austin, and a daughter Danielle.<br />
Ryan graduated from Texas A&M in 2008, and Austin is a defensive back for the Husker<br />
football team. Nancy has served as a lecturer in accounting both at Texas A&M and<br />
Nebraska.<br />
